what program(s) are good to use to make your own banners?

Hi Natasha,

I still don't know for sure if we can design our own banners as no-one has responded one way or the other yet.

The program I used is Paint Shop Pro, and a trial version is freely available for download (as well as for sale at a greatly reduced price for older versions) at the Paint Shop Pro section of the Jasc Software website. The one I got was PaintShopPro7 which came with Animation Workshop 3.

I first designed the background in PaintShopPro on a canvas size: width 468 X height 60, using the floodfill tool, and changing the foreground colour & stroke style to gradient. (There are many other choices including different colours and textures, and various other tools to design anything you want)

Then, on a new layer, I added the car (which I'd previous changed the colour of by using 'colourize' in the colour drop-down menu)

Then I saved as a .psp file (so I could then use as a master which I could then edit to other colours and styles later)

When I got the colour/style combo I wanted I then saved as a .jpg file (which merges the layers) and then opened this file in Animation Workshop.

I then added the text effects from the 'effects' menu. I used 3 separate text passages so I had to do this 3 times. Here, you have a choice of colours/fonts/size as well as any selection of 'effects'. I used 'highlight' and customized, changing the text appearance, the flare size and colour, the effect length, and the frames per second (fps).

I then saved this as a .gif file (using customized settings for the optimization process...I could have made it a smaller file size with collapsed frames but it may have been of a lower quality and not come out the way I wanted)

And that's all there was to it.

It may take a while to fully download, then you right click on the pic and then click 'save picture as' to your hard-drive....upload this to where-ever you store your files, then you would need to incorporate this into your webpage using the html code:

Well, about the answer from support: I've got their answer the next day, but I've used the form Request support and not the direct e-mail. Maybe you should do this, too! I don't know, but I've noticed, that "Request support" is better to use.

Do you have some examples of your minimalist approach to emailing. I am tired of all the long winded emails that I get and I am sure that there are people that I am about to send emails to that feel the same way.

Your e-mails should be short and they should create curiosity so your prospects actually see the flash
presentation.

I try to ask questions in my e-mails such as "What would you do with a couple extra hundred dollars a
month?  Would you take a weekend vacation? Then I point to the Flash presentation.

Let the e-mail message be about the prospect and not how great your opportunity is.  That is the
whole point of the Flash presentation, it does the talking for you.

You have a ton of great ideas, I have also heard of people having success on e-bay.  You can do diff promotions through them

  Shocked Another thought came to mind. Why not market to the different lodges in the area. I know that there are Moose and Elk lodges and I am sure there are more that I am not aware of. Perhaps they would let us post on their board so all the members could view. Let's face it, the members are people with different careers and etc. It's no telling how far our businesses could expand if even a few signed up. I see it as a way to market to different professions all in one place. What do you think?  Shocked

How would you like to get a flyer about GDI in the hands of 5,000 or more people in about 1 hour? This little technique works and several years ago I tested out myself. Unfortunately I do not have any statistics to share with you but seems like I remember getting dozens of calls from a previous MLM company I was promoting.
 
The first step is to have some flyers http://website.ws/home/flyer printed up at your local print shop. To keep down costs, I would get them printed in black and white on a brightly colored paper like fluorescent yellow or orange. If you have the ability and know-how, I would design your own and create a flyer.
 
Ok you have your flyers here's what you do.  This is so simple your going to say how come I didn't think of this.
 
Go to a place where people are seated "stadium" style like at a football, baseball, basketball, concert, etc.  If you can, grab a friend or two who is hopefully a GDI rep in your downline.  Using your teenagers works well too.   
 
Here its the process step by step:
 
Step 1: Grab a handful of flyers and walk up to a row that is either full or almost full, tap the person on the end on the shoulder and say "Please do me a huge favor... Take one and pass it down".  You will look in amazement as your flyers are distributed by hundreds of complete strangers. 
 
Step 2: Repeat step 1 until all flyers have been handed out.
 
That's it!  People always want to help others out and they will do exactly what you asked them to do.  They typically don't even look at the flyer until they have passed them down. That's why this method works so well.
 
Most of your flyers will end up on the ground but you would be surprised how many people actually call or visit your website.
 
Typically anytime I use a method like this I don't put my personal contact information on there because every once in a while the manager will call and tell me not to do it again.  So to avoid this problem I only list my website.
 
Remember this before you go out. "It's easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission"!
 
You won't get arrested, but you may be asked to leave if the wrong person spots you but I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Hi..I am totaly new in this GDI ..marketing..etc. Taking courage the way you guys going about it. Just "wondering" how's is newspaper response by putting an  Advt. with our www.website.ws/.... Is it OK to do it..IF anybody have tried "hows the rating" on this me method..Thanks Jeffrey

Norma, Your July 9th post to this thread suggesting a newspaper ad is a good one.  One step further and of benefit to all of us would be a COMPANY generated press release, made available to all Affiliates to utilize in their local newspapers; one that could easily be edited as to affiliate name (if they wanted that included), contact information, telephone numbers, etc.

A company press release would look professional to the reader, capture the attention of MANY in the IT/computer/domain related world by the announcement of its new registry (dot ws!) and official information on the Company itself. The press release could include benefits of a personal and/or business website, plus our other valued features.

You or I could do basically the same thing on our own, but in most metropolitan area newspapers, the cost for our "ad" would be really high.  However, many (not all but many)  newspapers will run a Company produced press release as news within the paper itself (NOT classified or retail ads) and quite often we can get them published for free.

Great thread, guys.  Norma, you've got a ton of ideas going on.  That's awesome!  I'm certainly impressed, and I appreciate that you're posting them here.  As someone who is new to this, and as someone who is the anti-sales type of personality, I appreciate all the help I can get -- particularly as far as having a place to direct the new folks I'm recruiting in.  I am going to send a message to my downline and let them know about this thread.  Particularly since I interact with many stay-at-home moms, I think the children's gift of a web site idea is invaluable.  Thanks again, Norma, and everyone.  Grin

(now let's see if I can get this to actually post..... Huh.....)

I received an email from a national jobfair coming to my area Las Vegas and you know, I thought that would be a great place to promote with GDI business cards or the promotional flyer to get real people who are looking for work that have (brains) common sense, but out of a job or hated their routine job. That's my idea I came up with
