Title: Targeting YOUR GDI Sign-Ups
Post by: Kyra Tuey on July 27, 2005, 08:19:01 AM
Hi Everyone!

The reason for this poll is because I know others, like myself, would like to see what types of people GDI go-ers are using to target their marketing. I would like to see some statistics on the people who are *more likely* to join into GDI than those that are not. I think this will give a very good feel to those of us who may still be struggling with their businesses.

I'd appreciate it if when you vote, you would also add a post here that answers -

"What was your main form of contact with your sign-ups?"

For example, Email Marketing, Message Boards, Old Friends, Your Own Opt-in Lists, Flyers & ADs used, GDI Leads, Business cards, etc. You get the idea.

I hope to get as many people involved in this as possible...so please add your 2 cents & let us know what's working for you!

Thanks Everyone,
Kyra

Hi Kyra,

Awesome poll! My business partner Deb Lane and I just began a massive targeted campaign at the beginning of July.  When we began our campaign, we had 16 "active" members in our downline. We now have over 50, in 3 weeks! (We actually have 177 with the orange and purple people). Yes, targeting works.

So who are we targeting? SERIOUS people. Folks willing to make a commitment. Those willing to listen, learn and communicate. In other words, people who "get it"! We love GDI and are actively seeking others who see what we see. Guess what has happened? As well as making our first appearance, 6 of our new team members have made the leaderboard!

In July, our marketing efforts have been solely online, mostly to safelists. As we expand our marketing, we hope to be running with the "Big Dogs" ;)

In Success,
Stephanie

Hi Kyra,

The fastest way to build your business is to find experienced business people. I join different communities and talk with other network marketers as well as business chat.

You also need a good quality autoresponder.

Aside from this, I receive a good response from leaving my GDI business cards everywhere.

Nicole

Kyra,

I like the idea of this poll. My main form of contact with my sign-ups has been friends, most of which are stay at home parents. These are people who I sent an initial email out to and then spoke to by phone, email, or MSN messenger.  They are people I am in regular contact with already.

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Stephanie, Nicole and Angela for responding with their *techniques*. I also want to say Thanks to everyone who has voted so far.

Although...I am amazed at the fact that this post has been read 125 times so far and only 17 people (including myself) have voted. And only 3 people have replied. It's making me sad.  :'( Come on you guys, please...this is for all of us. I thought that it would be helpful for a lot of us to see how others are marketing. You don't have to have 10 people in your downline...even 1....we just want to know what's working for you.

So PLEASE...vote and let us all know!  ;D

Oh...and Smile...because in 2 years....we'll all be making LOTS OF MONEY!  8)

Thanks,
Kyra

Kyra,

I cast my vote and hope it helps put a perspective on the best people for all of the GDI community to target.

In the last 6 years of doing online marketing what has surprised me the most is that the best way to "drive" traffic to a website is from outside of the web.  What I mean is using resources like newspaper ads and drop cards (buisness cards you leave everywhere you can), as well as just speaking with people you come into contact on a daily basis.

I try to make it part of my daily method of operation to get out at least 100 cards or flyers per day x 5 days a week.  I also have set a goal of speaking to 3 people each day about the opportunity and 3 people about the services we provide.

What I feel is important here is that we want to keep gages so we can chart our results and see what is working so we can step up our efforts in that area and reduce our efforts in those reaching out methods that are not working as well.  It has been siad that without a target to hit, what are you aimimg for.  Know what works best for you and that becomes comfortable for you to do.

Jim Rohn, America's foremost business philosopher says; "For us to grow we must do the uncomfortable until it becomes comfortable".  So get out there and try some of the things you have heard about here in the forum or through training and get familiar with "ALL" the methods of reaching out.

Marvin Drobes

Kyra, just wanted to let you know I was one of those who cast a vote in your poll. I just didn't have the time to respond with a personal message. Thank you for starting the poll.

I also agree highly with Marvin. Marketing outside of the box is my way as well.

Of course it takes different strokes for different folks. The key is to find out for ourselves what works best for us but we won't have that answer until we have put forth the effort, time, and patience.

All my best,
Norma  :o

I agree with the "outside the box" thinking.  I totally intend to get out of my "comfort zone".  I just haven't had the time yet.  (I can barely keep up on the laundry!) Putting flyers in mailboxes on my block was out of my comfort zone and I did that! By the fourth side of the block I was feeling comfortable with it already and the next time it will be even easier!  Besides, my kids liked it! Especially when the mailbox was low enough for one of them to put the flyer in!

Kyra,

So far I've only let my family know about GDI... to no avail... only 1 bogus viewer that submitted his/her info causing me to receive an email ...and I was nearly beside myself with anticipation ready to call this person!

I've made 1000 copies of the flyer I plan on getting out whenever I go someplace...gorcery store, walmart, mall, post office, pharmacy, mechanics...etc. thanks for the poll, I thought I had a poll like this one, I guess this is why it didn't get posted! heh, heh, heh!

I know I keep comming up with ideas, but doing this with my kids around me all the time... maybe I should use them to work for me? 2&4 years old... any ideas?

Good Luck, and don't loose heart! your in good company!

With School starting back, I am marketing College Students and Parents.  Parents are looking for ways to supplement their income to begin paying for books, lunches, and school clothes.  Flyers are at day care centers, mailboxes, etc..  I even gave a handful to some kids in my neighborhood for them to share with their classmates. Just wait until they go home and show their parents..???

A former College Student myself, what could be easier for college students.  This is a gold mine in my opinion.  By posting flyers in student unions or campus post offices will attract alot of students whom struggle week to week to come up with extra spending cash!

Be creative with the GDI flyer..  Instead of the Red Corvette, use a picture of college students, fraternities, cash picture, etc.  Find a picture that markets towards your audience.  As nice as it looks, the Red Corvette doesn't appeal to all.

Hi Michael;
I applaud you for ' targeting' college fraternities. Thousands of students, who can pass the
informations on to others. Great.
Your description of the 'red  Car' as being a Corvette makes my Teeth itch 'though.
Who'd ever drive THAT, rather than a FERRARI?????
Ah, what would Life be without the little fun things?

I think this is my first post, or at least it might be the first one to make it past the moderators  ;D

I signed up with GDI after I found a business card at a supermarket. So I know the business cards are effective. Order some or print some of your own, just get them, and get them out!

I have made the leader-boards for 2 weeks in a row now, this week I had 8 sign-ups. I am very excited.

When I first signed on with GDI, I had no idea what network marketing was and I had never done anything more than selling online with ebay. I am a fast learner though, and I have spent a lot of time in the past months learning how to promote and capture leads. I live in a small town and also spread business cards like CRAZY. Last night I left over 500 cards on cars at a loctal hotel. I asked the management beforehand to make sure it was ok, and it was not a problem.

Just work this business, learn, and promote, and then promote some more. No one is going to build your business for you. It takes hard work and true dedication if you want to make the big money.

Tylar

Kyra Asked:

One: Make some T-Shirts for them with some kind of GDI info on them and as you go around with them doing your thing they will be seen and when someone comments about them strike up a short conversation with them and give them a business card. I can think of many things to have on the T-shirts.  :)
I am better with dobermanns than kids. Thinking of making a velcro GDI add for mine and having him wear his service tracking dog jacket with a GDI promo slapped on both sides of him.  ;D

:)  I designed my own business cards which I felt would appeal to ALL people. - They are really eye catching and contemporary looking.  I not only adveritse on the web targeting other web promoters, but I advertise offline as well. I think you have to spend time both online and offline each day to make an impact. Public places are great for business cards, we stick them everywhere.  I also leave several cards every time I leave a tip in a restaurant.  I include several cards in the envelope when I pay a bill.  (I'm sure the people on the other end would like some extra income.) If you rent DVD's, put business cards in each DVD before you return it.  Every time I buy gas, I leave a business card at the pump. When I make a deposit, I leave a few cards at the ATM.  If you do a lot of business with your dry cleaner, ask if you can leave your cards by the register. - It's a fair trade.  Just be creative!  I have over 10 websites and this is what has worked for me. I am ALWAYS glad to hear other people's ideas.  When it comes to advertising or marketing, you should never stop learning.  Last but not least, if you speak with any salesperson either in person or on the phone, make them aware of the opportunity.  That profession is always seeking more income, not matter how much they make.  When a telemarketer calls me, I turn it around and ask them WHY they are working for someone else when they could do what I do?

I do this as well. I've mostly been doing off line promotion. The kids at the fast food joints seem like good prospects... I leave one with the person who takes the money at the drive thru and one to the person who actually gives my order to me. I just ask them if they don't mind if I teach them to earn an extra income...then I direct them to the number on the card and whether they're interested or not, I would appreciate an email if they have any questions. I also mention I will be helping them all the way.

I like this! It's been helping me actually talk to more people, than I would normally.

sounds like good therapy to me? what do you think?

Good job everyone! I look forward to hearing from everyone.

Hi if you have had a downline member for a while , i reccommend NOT to contact the person, I had a downline member for 3 months and i sent him a really positive friendly email asking how his business was going and if he needed any help to get some sign ups , and he immediatley quit the business the next day, I also sent a similar email to one of my other downlines and i have had no response. My advice is to NOT contact them. I have never been contacted by an upline and I must admit im really enjoying the business, so its not worth it.  :D

It's important to communicate with your team, Ian. Some may not respond to you like you'd want and will even quit the business. However, there will be members on your team that will need your guidance and support. You have to to be the teacher for your team, so that they'll learn and in return, teach their team.

I strongly agree with Nicole!

It's really important to have good communication with your team. There will ALWAYS be people who don't want to hear from you....but guess what? They have the option to opt-out of upline emails. Which is why it's a good reason to use your back-office to send out emails to your downline...just in case. But there WILL ALWAYS be others who want or need your help...and you have to make sure that they know that you are there for them....and remind them...because they may not need help right away.

So...I would always recommend to contact your team....they are YOUR TEAM. By helping them....they help you!  ;)

I agree that you need to keep in touch with your downline.  They may not need your help at first but down the line they might.  I wish my upline would have kept in touch with me more.  I am new to on lline marketing and the internet as a whole so I need a lot of help.  I recived most of my help by reading this form (found out about it late).

To build this business does take patience.  I have been working hard for about 2 months and just signed up my first trial.  But I am not going to quit.  I really am gratefull for all the tips on marketing that I found in the form.  Thanks to every one.

Hi Gang,

I am a newbie. . . newbie. . . newbie!!  GDI has been around for awhile and I really
do not know how I missed it.  I saw the opportunity many times, however it really
never impressed me that much. . . . . until now.  You guys are awsome with your
comments, suggestions, etc.  To say the very least. . . I am truly impressed and
grateful for this opportunity.  This is my first post and I look forward to doing this
many more times.  I did not take the time to sit down and think about what
I wanted to say. . . . just let it come out this way!

You know, not to get off the subject of GDI, but I had a very rough time back
in December of 2002 with an infectious disease that almost cost me my life.
I am 69 and have been retired from the DuPont Company, Deep Water,
New Jersey, since October of 1993.  I really look forward to a long and
prosperous time with GDI!!  Hope some of the mistakes that I have made
in the past week will not hinder me in this business.

Thanks for reading my note.  Hope to have some input as time goes by
in this business.

Best Wishes,

Tom Leighton  (wanted to put a smiliey here, but don't know how)?!

Hi Kyra,

My name is Colleen and I signed up about 2 weeks ago. I target whoever I can. One of the idea's that I came up with was to start asking parents if they had set up a college fund for their children yet. How about starting a website for them now and put all of the money made into a RESP or some other account that will grow with them. Not only will they have money for the future, but they will learn how to run a business and be responsible as well.  What do you think? ??? ??? ???

Colleen, I love your idea! You are right, this could certainly help parents save for their sons/daughters to have a college education.  It could also help grandparents who wish to contribute to their grandchildren's future.

Saw your flyer....awesome! I've got some really good pictures of my sons that I could use too.

Just wanted to let you know what I did tonight. There was a registration round-up for all the local groups (boy scouts, karate, skating etc...) , so I made up a bunch of flyers and went down to get some info. As I walked around, I gave my flyers out to certain people and organizations that I thought might be interested. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Hi, Myke Geter from Commerce City, CO!
I target the entire world.  This is a global opportunity and you never know who's going to be the next person who could really benefit from a great opportunity to build financial freedom- risk free.
I use my car ad on my hatch-back window and passenger side door.  I use a business card leading people to my site with information on earning and no extra programs.  I don't believe that you really need a bunch of extra side programs to promote this.  It's as easy as GDI has made it for us.  Just show people the movie.  I use a stamp that I put on every piece of my outgoing mail leading people to my site as well.

Hope some of this helps.

Most Sincerely,
Myke Geter

Hello Everyone,

My name is Melissa.  I have only been with GDI for about 2 weeks now, but I am very excited about this opportunity.  I received my first sign up on Thursday, and I could not believe how excited I was.  I am not a quitter, but I was getting discouraged, because like many of you, I am stuck about how to recruit.  I am a college student (even though I am 31 with a family), and I have thought about placing fliers on the cars throughout campus, but everytime I got to school, I felt uncomfortable.  Thank you for the comments about college students and campus'.  I am off tomorrow,  I have 100 fliers printed right now, and I am going to do it!  Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I think this forum is great, and the support is phenomenal.

Thanks again to everyone,

Hi everyone. I'm a newbie and I sure picked a good thread as my first one to read! I really enjoyed reading everyone's ideas, but I am wondering where to find this GDI flyer people are talking about. I'll have to also seek out the GDI promo manual that was mentioned too. I am not keen on ordering the biz cards as I'm in New Zealand and I am not sure how they would go over here ... I know there is an international number for the recorded message but kiwis are more comfortable with things that are in their back yard so to speak :-) I liked the way someone said they made their own. Reckon I can do that!

I decided recently to market offline. I made an ad and put it on the noticeboard at the supermarket, but so far have had no signups from that. I was thinking of advertising in the Newspaper. When I was in the corporate world, the company I worked for paid thousands for their website, and I am SURE that there are a lot of small businesses that would love a fully editable website they could run for themselves. $10 a month is so cheap! I figured if I sell them on that for a start, then they may be caught up in the excitement of the opportunity once they start looking hard at it.

Thanks for a great thread.

Brenda

I keep hearing about this flyer,,where can i access that one?
I'm so broke it's not funny, I can't even pay attention..

I have been very cautious in spending more  than I  have,  here's is what I've done since I joined in JULy 05,
rt off the bat i used  the red ferrarri /income forlife biz card,  I targeted threedrive=up and one walk-up ATM machines
near my home ,  I get on my bike and dropped them off for about 1 month  I would stop the bike across the streetor across the parking lot and watch as 4 out of 5  persoons would take the card and throw it on the ground withouteven glancing at it,No signups yet from that endeavor
Then in sept 05,  I took the income for life side of the card and printed it out on 8.5 x 11 paper which looks pretty cool as a flyer  and i bicycled over to a community college and got their permission to post on their bulletin boards at 8 campus locations,No signups yet from this one  either.
in sept o5, I ran an ad using the same biz card size in catholic monthly with circulation of about 9k in canada , usa, uk,australia  because it's only 52.00 a month  and i got 3 callers in 3 months who don't have computers,  and one signup who did not cont past the free trial,
i have sent out leads thru my bk ofc and at least i got some visits from the oppseekers com  leads and then i thought i
would try gdi's own leads ,just 150 , and no views, no clicks, absolutely nothing from these leads

in dec05 i have been visiting the localoffice-depot,sams-club,office-max warehouse stores and sticking the bix card into the cartons with computers or computer acessrories , i,ll  let u know how that turns out in a couple of weeks.

Kyra,

Being new at this business, I'm doing all of the above!  I figure that at this point I may never know where I might find a few diamonds in the rough... Hence, I look everywhere.  Perhaps I should be more focused, but at this point, I'm leaving no stone unturned.

That right, I agree with Leo. When you first join having no marketing experience or connections it's kind of hard to say exacly just where you are going. :-\  I guess the best way to go is following the business or money.

But I also like this POLL that Kyra hadd set up. This is a good idea, I mean how are we going to ensure the developement of GDI if we don't communicate with others( especially us newbies) about what workd the best. So I an with Kyra and here excellent idea.
So all you new and senior members let's make the best of this and future ideas as well.

Hi Kyra;

I think your poll is great.  I will try to focus on business, network marketers and others.  it's essential to focus on a certain segment and test your results.  I guess we all will be testing and going with what works.  I am new to GDI and plan on growing my business to the point where I can help others along the way.  I also think this forum is great and all who contribute in it. The fastest way to build your business is to find experienced business people. I join different communities and talk with other network marketers as well as business chat.

You also need a good quality autoresponder.

Aside from this, I receive a good response from leaving my GDI business cards everywhere.

Nicole

Hi Nicole,

I am really interested in what you just said. So can you tell me where I can meet network marketer. And can I see your autoresponder, pls?

Hi ladies and gentlement,

Happy New Year

Its great to read what you had posted. As a newbies, I really received a lot of new idea from here.

Just share some idea with you. Hopefully this will help.

1)Try to make thing simple. Don't make it too complicated.

2)When the problem occur, focus 20% of our mind on the problem itself and 80% of our mind on how to solve the problem.

3)The successful people always focus on one solution and keep on repeating it. Find some solution really work, just keep on repeat the same process. No need to make it too complicated. Otherwise we tent to lost our focus.

I found out some of the idea from this forum really simple yet effective. Try it out, if it does suites you, by all mean just go for it and repeat the process.

Think about it.  ;)

Cheers
Andy

:)Happy New Year to everyone. Thank you Kyra for your post. Hope to see more tips here in the future. My usual prospects are business owners, since a free website could really boost their new business, they signed up. But recently I learned that I should hire networkers inorder for my GDI business to bloom to the fullest. Thanks to Marvin Drobes.

Hi Billie here,

I have been targeting people who have opt-in thought the company. this has been working for me.  I am now going outside the box and sharing with family, and friends.
Because I have always shared some kind of business with my family and friends before , I waited this time. Some of you may know what I mean ,( here she comes with something else another business oppt).
I like the response I have gotten from the leads I get from the company.
My next step is business cards just giving them out and leaving around along with passing out flyers.
I am gratfull for my downline, the only thing I wish is that they would respond to my emails I send. I would like to know who is doing it for the business and who is doing it for the service (my downline ).
This way I can help the ones that want it (business part).
Well I'll be here know matter how long it takes them to get in touch. However, I am moving on, in the mean time. The best to everyone,

 Billie

hi kyra,

i only joined gdi last week, firstly i would like to say that i believe that the gdi program at face value is excellent, i am very entusiastic about being part of it, i have been involved with many different oppertunities over the last few years, only to end up being disappointed,

i already have 5 members in my downline, i have sent out 2 advertising campaigns, both are slightly different, ill explain,

campaign 1

this campaign was sent to only 300 targeted emails, they were all in the advertising section, from this 300 i managed to get 168 page views, of these about 6 or 7 watched the movie and 3 signed up,

campaign 2

my second campaign was sent to a mixture of people from the buisinss oppertuinities section, this campaign is still ongoing, but already i know it wont be as good as the first, i explain why later, this campaign is a mixture of targeted text ads and targeted emails, so far i have had over a thousand page views but only 2 have joined, going by my first campaign results this is a dissapointing conversion ratio,

the reason

the reason why c2  is not as good as c1 is as follows, c2 was sent to buisness opertunities and c1 was sent to normal advertising sections, but the main reason i think is, c1 was sent to www.my.ws  and  c2 was sent to www.website.ws

conclusion

from this excercise my advice is send your leads to www.my.ws  and not  www, website.ws  the reason for this is that the www.website.ws  tells the prospect what the oppertunity is all about with out watching the movie, whereas the www.my.ws doesnt tell them anything without watching the movie, so if they really want to know what it is all about they must watch the movie first, which has more chance of selling to them than if they read the info page themselves, the only downside to directing your leads to my.ws is that you cant see what hits you get on this page where you can on the wesite.ws page, perhaps this should be looked into and a hit counter be placed on the my.ws page
i hope i have been helpful to some of you, but i must say i am not an expert on internet marketing,

Can someone give me feedback on if any of these programs have worked for you in getting sign-ups.

Hi,Portia

I suggest you use your best judgement. You have to have a comfront Level with a business.
What program best fit your needs? How much will it cost you?

Do you have a positive mindset?
You have to be excitied about the opportunity.
With hard work  and effort you will make it, in this business.

Hello All,

I selected “other” in the poll. I believe that all of the prospects listed are pretty good selections/targets. More importantly, is "touching" your prospects. Getting to know them, and their needs. If you're going after a Network Marketer who believes they've already found the ideal opportunity, (in most cases) your presentation will be ignored (as ideal as a “Network Marketing” prospect may seem). Furthermore, they will try to sell you on whatever it is they're working on.

Focusing on those (in any category) who could really use the opportunity, and are at the point in their lives where they are truly ready to make a change (for the better), will be the IDEAL Target Market, and foundation in building a strong team.

Gaining members who can share the common goal (Change, Freedom, Success...) will work wonders for our success in this business. TEAM is the most important factor in becoming successful. If you put helping others first, you'll soon see that everything else will fall into place.

Go through your downline today and call some (or all) of your prospects... ask how they are doing with the business, if there's anything you could assist them with (be courteous), ask if there's anything that has been successful for them that they'd be willing to share with you (be humble - just because your their upline doesn't mean you can't benefit from the ideas of those who've signed beneath you).

Network Guru Jim Rohn once said “2 or 3 people who share a common goal can accomplish anything; but 1 person can't carry more than 2 on their back”! Don't try to build your success alone. You need the help from your team, just as much as they need it from you. Your introduction into this business is the start of a new venture, a new leg under GDI, a new TEAM; it will be only what you make of it... If you can nourish it with the suggestions above, and teach all under your umbrella to do the same, there's no limit to the success you a can achieve. In addition to the great feeling you will get from helping others!

Your Teammate,

Shawn Clark

I voted.  I use traffic exchanges, I am starting on safe lists just now.  If you use safe lists, make sure you use a seperate email account because you get a lot of mail.  You need to stay on top of that.  When you use traffic exchanges and safe lists, you can see what type of businesses are currently being promoted.  The trick is to advertise the product & service, not the opportunity.  Everybody has a business opportunity already, thats why they are at the traffic exchange.  Lots of them don't have a web site though!  Safe lists are busy.  Look for subject lines that capture your attention.  Write them down or record them in your notes somewhere.  Then you can use them yourself, and modify them if you like.  There are a few other programs out there that incorperate the GDI opportunity into thier own business model.  These sites are of good value because they reach a wider market.

Hi ! Your pole is a good idea, however, it seems to lack one thing- the ability to chose more than one method that is working. I have found so far that "Friends" and "Businesses" have worked. Not that I have signed many people yet (what with just gettnig started right around the Christmas season), but I have been in network marketing for over 20 years. Someone mentioned busniess cards as a useful method, and I would agree, but mostly, talk to veryone you meet about the opportunity, and don't pre-judge them. You never know. They may only sign one person, but that person may be like one I once sposored who went on to sposor over 1500 more! Also, don't try to seel yourself, or your business on your first meeting. Direct them to the websight, and let the experts on the video do the selling and introduction. Why waste your time and possibly lose someones interest (maybe they won't belive you), when you could be handing out a card to another person. Like most things in life, this is a numbers game. Be patient, keep plugging away, and little by little at first, it will start to grow, then, once you reach some bigger numbers, it will grow exponentially. 100 becomes 200, which becomes 400 and so on. Have faith, and look and sound professional, and don't quit! The only guarantee I can give you is that you are guaranteed not to succeed if you quit.

Good luck, and we'll see you at the conventions if they have any!

One more thing I've noticed on the forum, is a lot of newbies haven't heard from their respective uplines. This is where it will all fall apart for everyone. If you were starting a new job, and noone told you what to do, how long would you last? These people need support and encouragement. If you want your busniess to grow faster, get your new members working for you. It will take way longer to build if you are building it one member at a time on your own. Use the power of duplication to your advantage, and teach your prospects to do the same, and watch it take off!

#1. I believe you as an UPLINE should be available to your downline.

That being said...  The people who join here do not need hand holding, and if they do they should go elsewhere - They need to take time, read and understand this system. This system is SELF explanatory and is very simple. The people who cry about upline should focus on their own activity. Take responsibility for their actions or lack of action. Usually LACK of action is the reason people do not have the results they want.

If you are reading this... DON'T camp out and cry about UPLINE. Take action and respopnsibility, build YOUR business. Watch the video - Read the website - TAKE ACTION.

INVITE - Follow-up - Collect a decision - REPEAT

WOW!!! That is not the type of attitude I would have expected from anybody on this forum. Personally I think that all uplines should contact their downline. If you build a personal relationship with people and treat them like Human Beings instead of a $1 then you just might end up getting a partner for future entrepeneur ventures.
Come on Lets face it, GDI is pretty good but this is not going to be buy million dollar estate income by itself. You need multiple streams of income to cover your bases and if you leave your downline out in the air here then why would they want to join you on something else.
I dont know you may of had great success the way you run your business but me personally I have a lot of success with the way I run mine and all the people I work with in GDI work with me In many other business ventures and we will all be building mulitple streams of income.

If you cant get in touch with your upline and you are having problems please by all means PM me with any questions or comments that you may want to ask and I will help you personally.

George

Hi William

I only know of one thing that works for any and all businesses on the internet. You need a list of fellow marketers that want to work from home, that want to make money, that want to be successful, that are driven. Any and all of these types of people work and are out there. Now I was having the same problem as you are with GDI. Its a great product, you see it I see it, all of the other members see it, it's just not all the new people that want to make money online see it. They get discouraged when they dont make money right away, so they quit and try another program. Hopping around and never doing anything. So what do I do, I build my list first, I help my members build there list.

When you have a list the possibilities are endless, look at Janet Legere, she is awesome at listbuilding, I learned a lot from her. Thanks Janet, and you can see how successful she has been.

So to you William and to anyone out there would like more info just pm me. I dont want to advertise on the forum, but if your interested and would like my help, pm me.

Work the numbers. The right people show up. DO not convince anyone. Try talking to people.

Are you still with GDI? I talked to you back in July. I had deactivated my account, then, but I am back online. In 4 weeks I have 14 in my downline. I just got my cards the other day, so I wll be passing them out.
I am going to stick with it this time for at least a year. I still don't know how to work the autoresponder. I bought leads back then, and they are still sitting in my computer!
Oh well, I will figure it out in time.
Hope to hear from you.

Take daily action. Talk to people, drive them to one of your GDI marketing sites then collect their decision. Stop "TRYING" and take daily action. The terminology you used above seems like you aren't really committed - I could be wrong, but it might help if you had a better attitude.  Fire yourself and make TODAY your new start.

The only way you can fail is to quit. Never quit.

In Success,
Stephanie

Start with your replicated sites and create a link to the Japanese version or recruit someone who can speak the language. Try a local college for international students.

Someone mentioned using an auto-responder and building a list. These are critical components to anyone's success in GDI. There is a company that was developed specifically for GDI and they are using the Lead Capture pages and putting them into 2 auto-responders. The first is GDI's and it is a great series but I do not feel is long enough to get many sign-ups. The second series will keep in touch with your prospects for up to one year and this way no one falls thru the cracks unless they opt-out. They are very well written and get responses...

As far as targeting I say it is a BROAD WIDE OPEN MARKET! All I do is ask people if they Need Extra Money? (who doesn't) Hand them a business card. Next! Simple, simple, simple...

I think that GDI can be used in any market. Start first with niche you understand. For example I am web site builder, fitness instructor and martial arts teacher so I am targeting webmaster who would like to save some time and stop building websites the old way - trading time for money, the same is personal fitness trainers - I believe if they are not online, they cannot effectively communicate with their clients.

So just do something everyday. What about tell 2 people a day about GDI. At the end of the month its 56 people in the funnel - if only 5 do something its good. Don't you think guys?

Kyra bless your heart for starting this poll! It's really helping me,... I being a disabled stay at home mom,.. living on very limited income found GDI to be avery affordable solution to my money problems! So I have been targeting people in similar situations as mine,.. you know what I am finding out? They are eithe too lazy to want to work it or to afraid to join for whatever reason thinking it's another scam even though I provide them with plenty of information to show it's not,... or they just simply don't want to pay the 10 dollars per month even though they could make thousands or more!
I just don't know what to do I have been on for about 3 weeks following all step by steps,.. everything and not 1 bite! Plenty of views but not 1 bite! Right now I am so broke I can't even afford to pay for business cards so I am trying to make some! I have even started a group and website dedicated to low income people or disabled people on limited incomes assuring them that I am here beside them every step of the way! I have been blogging,.. posting,.. talking, chatting, calling, the whole 9, and now am crying because I have been sitting in this darn chair for so many hours so many days that my legs have swollen badly! My sponsor is about as experiences as I am in the marketing industry if not less,... and I have actually been teaching her things,.. which I don't mind! So I guess my question is,... when ones only chance for now to get the business going is the free online dvd,.. free sites such as craigslist where people flag you all the time,.. and other free things that just aren't working,.. what do we do?

This poll of yours is a godsend! I now see it's time to switch my target market!
Want to know what's really sad?
I only live about 20 minutes driving distance from last weeks potential leader Max Mura and I have no way to contact him for advice! He's somehow signing up at least 10 people daily!
Even sadder,... I have even offer to reimburse people for their first months membership and still not bites!

Why can't people see that this is something that can and will work if they just try?
Everyone says oh it's another pyramid scheme,... I tell them yes it is based on a pyramid payment scale but it's not a scam,.. we have a very valuable and genuine product but more importantly an awesome team to work with,. still not even a trial sign up with all the work I have been doing!

By the way,... people should really move at least one of their new sign ups to the person who is having the least amount of success with this to help keep them encouraged and give them a little bit of leverage to work with!

Maybe I need to cancel my mebership and sign up under somebody else?

I don't know,.. but I need to go rest I am truly exhausted and living off of less than a thousand dollars per month with 2 children to support and this is not helping me! Sorry everyone I am just truly discouraged at the moment!

I've even written an article about how simple this opportunity can be and given them proven examples of other sites that started the same way as GDI,... and are now huge,.. like MySpace.com for example!

Maybe I need to make my website more flashy? www.workforeveryone.ws  if you click the button on there that says " More information" it takes you to my article!

Ok... I'm done lol Have a blessed day everyone or night depending on where you live and keep up the good work!

Post by: MeganB on August 04, 2007, 08:29:21 AM
Hi

Are there any HTML formated email template? I think this is what they are called.

I think it would look more professional to send an email with all the GDI headers/ borders/images across the top (like the one you receive when you first view the presentation)

Are there any available or do I have to make them myself.

Also is there a list of all the Domain forwarding sites that we can use. I have managed to find some through this forum, but there may be more I have missed?

Thanks everyone

Megan

According to the poll it definitely seems the majority are targeting existing network marketers which is also what I have always done. Plus these are people who are more likely to be experienced or at least have knowledge about the industry so they are more valuable to your organization. Great topic!

Hi. I just joined 3 days ago. 1 sign up so far. Obviously, I haven't gotten my business cards in the mail yet. But I've been busy passing out flyers, sending invites, and reading everything I can get my hands on about marketing.

Let them play with the features for the 7 day trial.
Before the trial is up contacting them and seeing how you can help.

Absolutely!  It's all about relationships, staying in touch with your down-line until they
understand it too.  Placing a couple of folks under folks to encourage them, and they
will get the idea to do the same thing too.  That builds RETENTION, and that is KEY
to building a residual income for life.

Helping them to understand that building a web site can make them $$.  That builds
retention also, and residual income.

Hi everyone.

I been in GDI about 4 months now - and really like it!

I have about 50 people in my downline and I use these techniques:

1) a small a classified ad in my local newspaper

2) GDI business cards to everyone

3) flyers around town

4) DVD's to friends

5) solo ads online

6) email services like: Target Ad Depo, List Joe, List Bandit, List Dot Com
(I always buy the upgrade to email more people)

7) Word of mouth (talk to everyone)

8) GDI leads

9) Mail letters to 'opportunity seekers' leads (snail mail)

10) And I like to use Downline Secrets2

Please let me know what is working for you too.

Thanks,
Duane

I think that GDI can be used in any market. Start first with niche you understand. For example I am web site builder, fitness instructor and martial arts teacher so I am targeting webmaster who would like to save some time and stop building websites the old way - trading time for money, the same is personal fitness trainers - I believe if they are not online, they cannot effectively communicate with their clients.

So just do something everyday. What about tell 2 people a day about GDI. At the end of the month its 56 people in the funnel - if only 5 do something its good. Don't you think guys?

Brett

Hi Brett,
Starting with a niche you are familiar with is a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
And you are right even if only 5 do something, it is good enough because we are in the business of exponential growth.
It can work even if you just sponsor 1 person each month.

Hi Dpro,
I am a little bit confuse  when you say that if you bring one person every month of the year, you woulbe making $4,088.00 a month in one year.
What about the fifth generation thing.

Hi Albert,

That's a good question.
I didn't think of that.

I guess it won't be signnificant because everyone within your 5th level will be sponsoring 1 person /month,
so your income will still grow.
If it goes on as shown in the image posted below, you may even achieve master affiliate status where GDI will pay you to infinite levels.

Kyra,

I like the idea of this poll. My main form of contact with my sign-ups has been friends, most of which are stay at home parents. These are people who I sent an initial email out to and then spoke to by phone, email, or MSN messenger.  They are people I am in regular contact with already.

Good idea, people that don't have anything to do can used ther time on working at home, this will help theire economy and also keep active, making alot of money hope so.

The easiest way is to use the GDI invite system.
Or you can distribute business cards or flyers.

For many online promotion methods, please browse the "Marketing" section of the forum.

I found that one of the best ways to find targetted sign ups is through social bookmarking, social networking and blog communities.
The sites that are particularly effective are :
1) stumble upon
2) facebook
3) mybloglog (community of bloggers)

Some of my team members also spend time in forums such dreamteammoney and moneymakers
Quite a lot of time is needed there but you could get like 100+ downlines if you post regularly at those forums because there are many
business opportunity seekers there.

I firmly believe in the "Monkey see, Monkey do!" philosophy.

I have moved across the oceans and live in a completely new
country, so I am a little short on warm list candidates. As a
result I am focusing on local newspaper linage ads in the
part-time general vacancies.

From the response, I look for people who are prepared to work
their warm market. I then work the 3 x 2 system. That means I
work their (call him Alfi) list until I have found 3 members for
Alfi.

Once I have found the first member (call them Barbara). Barbara
must be a person who is prepared to work their warm market. I
start working with that Barbara and help her find 3 people. In
the mean-time I am helping Alfi to get his remaining 2nd and 3rd
members.

It is Alfi's responsibility to use what has learnt from me, to
help his 2nd and any subsequent members to get 3 members each.

Working with Barbara, when we find Barbara's first member (call
him Charlie), I start working with Charlie to find his 3
members.

In this way I am driving the leg in depth. I continue to drive
the leg in depth until there are 3 times as many people being
sponsored into that leg each month, than I am personally able to
bring in, working at whatever level I happen to be at,
currently.

This is not the best way, for some to build their GDI group, but
it suits me.

I am not a salesman, marketer, or promoter. I have tried online
tactics that I have taken several years to learn, and I've had a
little success, here and there.

The problem is, that most of the people that I have introduced
have been completely clueless about Network Marketing online,
and what is worse, either they don't want to learn or it's going
to take years, as it did with me.

Most of you, of age 20+, know at least 150 people who, when you
called them, would recognize you immediately you mention your
name. That's 150 candidates that you don't have to advertise
for. How long would it take to make a list of their names and
telephone numbers - 2 hours - less?

Some people have mentioned not wanting to "pester" their family
and friends. Does asking them four questions constitute
"pestering"? I don't think so.

Here's two examples (FROG stands for a contact from Friends,
Relatives, Organizations, Geographical).

You: " Would you be interested in a way to make some extra money
without it interfering with what you currently do?
FROG: "No, thanks!"
You: "No problem - speak to you soon. Bye"
==========
OR

You: " Would you be interested in a way to make some extra money
without it interfering with you currently do?
FROG: "Could be. What is it?"
You: "Got a pen? Go and watch this 6 minute movie. Here's the
web site! Let's talk tomorrow."

When you follow up:

You: "Have you watched the movie?"
FROG: "Not yet."
You: "Watch it tonight and I'll call you tomorrow"

OR

You: "Have you watched the movie?"
FROG: "Yes!"
You: "Is it of interest to you?"

If they say they are not interested. Don't phone them again
except for non-business matters.

In my view, that's not "pestering"

I hope this helps,

Gordon

Hi Stacy,

I appreciate your enthusiasm. Just keep doing what you are doing until you
discover a better way of doing it.

Just one minor point. Could you please use normal type, rather than all CAPS.
All CAPS is more difficult to read and in forum posts, is also indicating that you
are shouting or yelling or angry.

Hope this helps,

Here's another tip... download the training manuel for GDI Success! Then you can join the Success Club With Bram Smith and the other big dogs!

I WILL HELP YOU, GROW YOUR BUSINESS!

-Logan Wandell

I still do this...and it works!Just need to promote the right business to them.

Recently, I went to a local restaurant that didn't have a website, and gave the OWNER a GDI DVD! He seemed very thankful, he is eager to get one up, he just needs someone to build the site for him...with menus and everything! Just hopes he uses the .WS ending!

Hi Michael,

There is no 1 sure-fire way to succeed, generally you will need a marketing system (especially if you are promoting online) and leadership (yourself or your downline)
to jumpstart.
Consistent effort is important too, so procrastination is definitely a no no.
Why not start apply some of techniques described in the forum here (at the "marketing section).
There are many ideas on what works for different people, just adopt a few that suits you.

Personally, I use :
-a downline builder
-autoresponder with landing pages
-traffic exchanges
-blog

You guys are making me feel really good about joining, I live in a smaller town but with larger cities about 15minutes to 1hour away. I will be working on making business cards to place everywhere. I think I will target people like myself a mom who is thinking about in another 1 1/2 my son will be in college and will be needing some help. Highschool students, college students community centers, dentists offices, clinics every where is a great place to leave off some cards. It worked for my dog grooming and I know it will work for gdi. Business cards are the way to go. Keep all of those positive ideas coming we will all succeed! :D
P.S. only been here for about 2 weeks so I still don't know exactly the people that have checked out my site. I will let you know as soon as I start having people in my downline, can't wait!

Im brand new to the system but it seems to have lots of promise and the system...the operational model...seems as it should be an easy one to work.
I would appreciate any tips from you as you have been in a bit longer than I.

I am also proably going to do some web 2.0 marketing over the social networking siites.

Best Regards.

Title: Push or Pull?
Post by: Matthew_S on December 10, 2008, 07:20:23 AM
Recently I had a new recruit who was very eager to set up a website to promote his music. I explained how GDI could help him establish his own place on the Internet and make a little money in the process. I also took an interest in his web-building and music, as these are two areas that interest me anyway. On discussing the possibilities (via e-mail) the lead decided he would like to join and said he would sign up Monday (yesterday).

As yet he hasn't taken up the free trial, which is dissapointing but hey. Now, my question is this. What is the best approach to take in this situation? I have already given him all the information he needs, and my original reaction was to drop him an e-mail today just to ask how the web design is going. But I don't want to seem pushy, or go in for the hard sell. There are plenty of reasons he may not have signed up yesterday and I don't want to pressure him now, and lose him. So perhaps I should wait, and possibly let the lead go cold by lack of action.

I suspect this is a situation that most experienceds MLMers have experienced and I just wondered how you deal with it? Anyway advice would be much appreciated.

Since I'm still new and really confused with the process, it would appear that I'm targeting people that are stay at home parents or people looking for part time employment. Which appears to be my problem. I'm not targeting the right group. I need to be targeting folks that are genuinely interested in growing a business, like myself.

When you say think outside the box.  That means a successful business stream of team building.  I work in a capacity level of all types of ages.  From students, parents, non-profit organizations, music artists, and online shopping for the whole family wish list beyond.   Of all the other sites I still work for, GDI must be my first priority.  The others can second guess on their wish list shopping needs because it is for seasonal or just because reasons as why one gets a gift.  If GDI has a place that is so different, then why not shoot for the moon to brighten all of our days?   The reality is folks we have to get out there and share and share and share until it is the right key word of solution to help the people asking.   I use Yedda to bring my potential customers, I use the most popular social networking site and that is Myspace.  What I have also learned that just about every site is willing to cross the bridge to meet us half way in the other side.  Now those are the resources and people we need to thanks.  I being classified as a newbie, that's ok with me.  People are looking for everyday type of people and not so Millionares.   I don't need that to become my pitch for encouragement.  When the time is right folks believe me, they will find another time to ask you the tough questions.  For me I just direct them to the site.

I am a newbie and I want to say that you all are giving out some valuable and good information. I personally thank you. As I read more in the forum I come up with more ideas. As I put them together I will come back here to share my results. As for now I'm reading and learning.

As for now I have lots of family and friends interested. As we all get together for meetings so many ideas are coming out. I've been in network marketing several times and I've never given up because I know there is opportunity. I believe, and have learned that it is your approach and concern for others that will help to keep your downline interseted. When you disappear and become unavailable to them, then they will leave you. Stay involved with people and be genuine. If you don't know the answer then find out together.

Spread love.

So far I've been searching the forums, and I know you have to work really hard to get people to sign up. But what I'm having trouble with is the first step. What exactly is the first step?

I've never done an Internet marketing business my whole life, so I don't know what websites to go, where to leave my page up, how to get people even interested in signing up. Most of the people I know are around my age or a tad bit younger than I am, which means they have no interest in paying 10 dollars a month for an online business that they think might fail. I know this works, I just have to find a way to get them to see what I see.

How do you get people to check out your websites and such? Do you visit random forums that you're totally not interested in? Do you put your link up on websites like autosurfer and stuff like that?

I know this question has been asked a million times, but I would really like to stick with this. I know this works and I know patience is the key.

What I've done is forward my domain so that when it is typed, it will redirect to my blog. I plan on blogging about the good things about GDI and tips and tricks and stuff. I still have to put my link up somewhere that will catch the reader's attention. I also still have to get readers, haha.

Anyway...any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

G

Hey Everyone,

As you already know, G.D.I. uses the process of multi-level duplication to create income. I want to invite you to a program that can help you grow your downline. Please do not feel discouraged immediately because this isn't a scam that promises you 1000's of leads a day. It is a free social network called People String (like MySpace or FaceBook). It works very similar to G.D.I. so I am sure you will be into it. You can sign up for a full time free account that will earn you money. The key here is free. To be upfront, there is a short survey that only took me 1 minute to complete. Check it out at http://www.peoplestring.com/?u=michaelstarr (http://www.peoplestring.com/?u=michaelstarr). I truly think that this will make your marketing career a thousand times easier.

Does anybody know how to target yahoo marketing properly?  I put an ad on yahoo stating affiliates wanted or network marketers wanted.  I get 2-3 clicks a day but no sign ups for 2 weeks.  Am I doing something wrong?  How do i get people to actually sign up?

Hi,
This is an excellant poll!. Glad its in the forum.  Basically i am looking for like minded people regardless of demographic who are looking to get involved in a home business.  I feel that any sort of advertising whether its business cards, DVD's, emails and safelists and forums is all good.  I have tried traffic exchanges before without much success.  I have just signed up for GDI leads and i am looking forward to seeing how they work out for me!.

Hi Everyone,

I 'm a 71 year old grandma who joined GDI a few weeks ago but have not signed a single person.  My downline has a big fat zero.
My sponsor I never hear from sense I got their "welcome" message.

Even sent a message to a person in my upline but don't guess they got the message either.

If I had a downline, I would do everything in my power to help them build their downline.  I would not keep secrets.  I would share with them how to dot every "i" and cross every "t".

Yes, I have read most of the posts and found their is one main item most everyone is leaving out when they tell what they are doing to build their downline.

For example, one post I read stated they only used Google to advertise and were signing up 10 to 20 per week.   Would like to know how many stayed after the trial period.

That is GREAT .... but the person failed to share ..... HOW ..... they were using Google.  Simply saying I posted an ad on Google does not help anyone.

I've noticed this same thing in all the other posts.  Seems no one want to share the "How" but only want to share the "What"

Maybe its just this grandma but what's the big deal about not wanting others to know "how" they are building their GDI downline.

Two weeks ago I setup my account with Google Adsense and got my PPC ad going.  Got recommended list of keywords from Google Keyword tool and did all the other stuff.  Set the amount to 0.05 and waited and waited and waited.  Still waiting.  I also have handed out biz cards at supermarket check out lanes and done about everything but stand on the street corner and preached about GDI.  Guess everyone in my part of the USA has plenty of dough and not interested.

Sure I have had about 10 people to watch the GDI movie and that's it.  Yes, I sent each a personal email message offering my help and encouragement .... at least what help I had to offer.

Sometimes I wonder if people are really doing  as they say they are doing regarding their GDI downline.  Probably made a bunch of you mad at me but guess that goes with the person.

At 71 years old I have been around the block a few times and have thick skin so nothing is going to upset this grandma.

I even sent a PM to two or three asking them to share with me how they are getting all those signup ...... but it appears my message never got to them because have heard not one word.

As for me I have been targeting the stay at home mom but at this stage of the game I am going to target anything that can read and has ten bucks a month to invest in their financial future.

Sorry for the long post and sorry if I made you mad.

This grandma is just telling it like it is.

Would be nice if someone started a new Topic titled "How to get signup" or something similar and then share the step by step "how".

Thanks to everyone for their kindness and remember God loves YOU.

Grandma

I was just going down the list of members asking the very same questions about how GDI is suppose to work.  The tips are available is how often we use those sites to inform people where to go.  I have been promoting GDI already for 11 months now and yes everyone, 8 visitors but no buyers.  What ever we are doing is normal, what ever the rest are doing it is normal. But what we haven't been doing is following up with the visitors which I am going to go back anyway and find out if the prospects I have are in or chose to opt out.  I found out it would take at least 7 written contacts of follow ups before the prospect tells you thanks but no thanks.  If this theory is true, don't give up and simply move forward.  There is a Grandmother on board, and she is sharing concerns and would like answers.  My opinion is there isn't many coaching enough to quickly reply back to the members.  I am in the same situation.  If you are reading my statement, thanks, I know your are real person here and I know you all are.  Here are some suggestions that I am doing and links to get you checking out what's going on. Others have directed me there and if you already own your own website, that's a good thing.  GDI has website styles choices you can test and they are really nice ones too.  I will be open to anyone who is willing to continue communications with me.  But also will learn about them and where are they with the network building.  Here are already some programs that are helping build my business and should you want to learn more, like with the other sites.  We must visit the site to get the full value of what they have to offer.  I just want to resourceful and once you go there.  Say my name so people will know that I am around.  I don't just stop at GDI but it is my primary site because I am investing already.  Marketing gets you around and it is free just about everywhere.  It's how you engage yourself and go to research those answers.  Once you have a established a site that your comfortable with and gained relationships with other people, you'll be surprised how many people want to know how things work over there too.  It both works hand in hand.  My suggestion but it's up to you.  I am new still to learning more.

Don't scare your customers relate them.  Good luck everyone.

Cathrina

Hi everybody, my name is Johnnie and I am from Romania . I love this GDI business it's awesome and it's getting better everyday.
In my first week with GDI I printed some "artistic" posters (which included my .ws address and my phone number) made by me on my computer and after that I took some glue and I stucked them on poster-boards in bus-stations, near supermarkets and anyplace with a good people traffic, and you know what ??
 They did a great job !!!  :o ::)
In the next days people started to call me :  "what's that all about?" , "tell me more.." , "give me some details please.."

My poster is here: http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/7992/johnnie.jpg  of course it's written in my language :)

Hi Kyra.  Great idea.  I am fairly new,(4 months), and have been doing mostly network marketing.  Hasn't produced.  Last week I posted an add to weekly newspapers all over the country.  Getting two per day all week.  It was not very cheap but I think it will pay off.  For $180 I got my add in front of one million every day people.  Not bad I would say.  I also contact every sign up by e-mail and buy telephone.  The personal touch seems to be the clincher.

The best way to Advertise GDI is to get prospects to watch the 7 minute movie.

Example " As my Honored Guest I would like for you to watch this amazing 7 minute movie!
Grab your spouse and some popcorn! You will be excited just like I was when I first saw it!
I am excited just telling you about it!!!!! :o :o

I put my link on the ad! People are curious! Don't tell them--Show them! :)

The best way that I can tell you is:  introduce you're friends, neighbors, and others to you're automated web site: ( website.ws/you'rename) if the have questions about GDI, invite them to a weekly webinnar  and show them the reasons that YOU Joined and  continue Invite them to Join for the free 7 days to look at the opportunity and get a feel for building their own website with the web builder and looks at the forums.  hope this helps

 :)Dear Friend,

Thanks your article.
You can increase my spirit to GDI.
But in China, most of peoples such as my classmates have no any more information on GDI.
They think it is transferrent sales.
How to eliminate their hesitation on GDI.

Thanks and best Regards!
Cui Qiang.

Title: The Question "So What?"
Post by: MarkStephenson on January 10, 2010, 02:50:45 PM
So What?

This is one of the most important questions you can ask. Ask yourself that question every time your about to do something. Apply it as you build your business.
Every sentence you write – ask yourself, “So what?” Everything you plan to do ask yourself, “So what? ”What you are really asking is “Am I on target” or have I gotten side tracked, and am off on some tangent wasting money and resources?
The “So what?” question will help you make a great plan and execute it. It will keep you focused, and get rid of a lot of clutter. It will help you define you competitive advantage.
Try it. You might like it.

Mark!  Tremendous advice!  That question, So What?, is so very important.  That question will be on the mind of everyone you talk to.  This is a great company.  So what?  It is a global company.  So what?  Many people are making money using it.  So what?  Their services are among the best.  So what?

That question will lead you to speaking in terms of benefits.  Compensation plans, how many levels deep a downline goes, how long the company has been around and whether or not they have been featured in Inc. 500 magazine mean nothing to most people.  What people care about is how it will benefit them.  Always remember to speak in benefits to the person.  This will require you to get to know that person by listening to them and knowing that every word out of your mouth will be followed with that person thinking, as Mark said, So What?

Tremendous, Mark!  Thank you for the solid advice.  :)

Are you still counting votes?  If so, my vote is just a general one because serious people can fit into all those categories, they could be business people, stay at home moms, who ever I meet that takes the time to understand what GDI is all about.  I try to talk to them first and explain it, if they ask questions, I know I have sparked an interest so I try to answer all their questions or find out the answer if I don't know.  Then bring it up again, tell them about what I'm doing, keep telling them more, like someone else or many have said, I keep telling more than selling, those that listen are more likely to join and then stick with it, I think.  (I am no expert, just putting in my two cents since you wanted everyone to vote.)  Great idea too!  Thanks!

Hi all- I need a system to make a news letter for email with opt in or opt out options,do we have one or can someone suggest one?

Hi, S Brian!  It sounds like what you are looking for is an autoresponder of your own.  We do not have an autoresponder for you to use.  GDI does send a series of messages to your new GDI prospects to teach them about GDI and encourage them to become part of your team, but if you want a newsletter with an opt-in opt-out option you will need your own autoresponder.

So, suggestions for one that you can use.  There are three that I would personally suggest but there are more out there.  My two personal favorites (and this is just because of the options, deliverability and protection that come with them) are Aweber and GetResponse.  Both are great services and fairly inexpensive.  The other option that I would recommend, though not quite as much, is TrafficWave.  TrafficWave has been working hard to improve, so any of those three would be a good option.

Hope this helps!  :)

What kinds of people are you targeting the most and getting the most sign-ups on?

The #1 answer in this poll by a landslide is Network Marketers!!!

Why?

Because they already believe in MLM and just want to succeed. If you could just position yourself as an expert in Network Marketing by investing in your education to increase your value...

Than people will be ATTRACTED TO YOU!

I can't tell you when I heard the words scam, pyramid or illegal when talking to a prospect since I started investing in my education about MARKETING & targeting fellow network marketers!

We are in network marketing and if you want to be successful than its time you learned how to MARKET correctly.

Here's a hint...

STOP SELLING GDI, NO ONE CARES!!!!!  ::)

OFFER GREAT VALUE INSTEAD!!!!!     :)

We are concentrating on building and helping our affiliates partners to duplicate their effort.  We started our weekly meeting and so far everyone that came signed up and came back to the meeting with guests as they able to see that the opportunity with GDI is beyond the $10.00 investment.

One of our strategy is to encourage them to recruit or have a goal of 10 sign up within the first 10 days so their own subscription paid for life and show them how to duplicate themselves.  My mentor Jim Rohn said that "If the promise is clear the how to easy to achieve".

Our compensation plan allows us to get paid down to 5th level generation, the possibility of making a passive income of over $100k per month is very clear when you can teach and duplicate your affiliate to find 10 and help, teach to do the same.

I think when it comes to GDI and the WebSite.ws product, EVERYONE is a potential customer or distributor. Now a days, the internet is becoming a vast and growing force and having a permanent web presence is a MUST for personal reasons as well as business. I think, it would help to build this value to your customers. The second growing demand today, is the growing need for more sources of income. It's a basic fact, everyone needs more money to live happily. Don't tell people only how to make money with GDI, SHOW them that they can!

Hi guys and gals, I just started with GDI, and I am impressed with all of the posts I have been reading. Unfortunately, it falls on deaf ears, when you don't have a clue as to what you are doing. I am new to the internet and computers. I have had to go this route because of health problems and not being able to work outside the home. Is there anyone out there that would have the time to mentor a completely new person? Remember if anyone responds to this, I don't know a thing about this industry. But I have to do something to make money. Thank you, Brad.

Hi Kyra and everyone else!
I'm a newbie in the UK and thought I
would share my idea for targeting
people who would like to join us.

Very soon, a friend and I are going
put an ad out in the local paper
in the jobs section. We are going to
ask people to reply via email so
that we have their contact details
then invite them to a presentation
night, which we intend to hold one
night a week at first. We will be
presenting the opportunity, answering
questions and telling them that if
they join, they are not alone because
all they have to do is bring any
prospects along to the next meeting
and we will do all the work for them!
I've been to these meetings before
when exploring the kleeneze
opportunity and they are very
persuasive, first creating the need
by showing people what they can
achieve and then how the team can
help them.
Our aims are to help people get their
first five people ( I will have 5 by
the time I do this, so will pass 5 on)
then help them get to level 5 -
teaching them how to do exactly the
same thing and prevent them giving
up and creating excitement!
In effect, taking the whole
programme offline and actually
talking to groups of people rather
than just 3 or 4.
Please let me know what you think
of this idea?

Take care,
Maria

What about thoes being affected by the current state of affairs in the economic venues. The ones having to rebuild retirement funds, the ones who have lost the "Nest Eggs". Even though these people are still solvent the thought of the time ahead without having what you worked so hard to get because of the current economic situation, and the future outlook.

It is amazing when things come together. When it comes to working with GDI the tools are ongoing. I went a little farther and used an automatic broadcast to send a message to hundreds and thousands of people interested in a home based business. That way I don't have to call the so called "tire kickers". What's more when those callers here it will be $10 to join GDI after the 7 day Free Trial, there will be many sign ups. What's more you can get different messages going out on different days of the week. It is extraordinary how the internet has changed. I would like to hear what you think about this and let me know how it turned out for you.  ;)

Very nice post. I think good results can be seen by targeting people who are looking to work from home and ready to listen and commit. But you will find many people who blame multi millions companies rather than blaming themselves. Training is needed for your downline. It does not matter where they come from as long as they are ready to duplicate and understand the duplication process.
