31  .WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: Questions about GDI on: July 16, 2008, 04:56:09 PM
Hi folks,

I do have something niggling at the back of my mind and I would like some
feedback.

Listening to the presentations, there is much emphasis on the fact that
preferred domain names with dot com, dot net, dot org and others are very
hard to get.

Surely the same situation will become the case with dot ws.

It seems to have happened quite quickly with the others. How long do you
think it will happen with dot ws and what happens then?

The reason for my question is that I am looking to build a very long term
residual income. I don't want to find myself reaching a ceiling in 5 or 6 years
from now.

I look forward to your views.

32  .WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: What tax forms??? on: July 16, 2008, 04:56:09 PM
Ok I know this has probably been asked a thousand times, but when commissions start to come in, how do you deal with taxes? Do you do estimated taxes or withhold your own? What forms are needed? Sorry I am just very confused on that process, any help?

Joe

Hi Joe,

You need to consult an accountant. I suggest looking one up in your local area yellow pages or equivalent.

Hope this helps

33  .WS Business / Team Building / Re: Building a Physical Team on: July 15, 2008, 03:39:23 PM
Hi all,

One of my goals with GDI is to build a team in my area so I can hold meetings at my house once a week.  The GDI Forum is great, it answers a lot of questions, gives you great ideas and is very motivating however, there is nothing like being in a physical room with people sharing the same goals and walking the same road.  There are a lot of positives about this.

1.  It will build your leadership skills
2.  It builds energy
3.  Prospects will be more comfortable about joining when they are in a room full of people excited about it
4.  People can get together and pair up to prospect or go out as teams
5.  It sets a good stage for competition and recognition
6.  It's easier to build strength from each other
7.  Easier to set team goals for the week
8.  Teammates can help each other out more with resources
9.  And it helps your team become closer

I'm sure there are a lot more benefits to this as well.  By getting together once a week for about 30 minutes to an hour, your GDI business can skyrocket.  And once the team get to be about a certain size, you can split it up and multiply.  Tell me what you think of this and please feel free to add.

This reminds me of the analogy of, "If someone dumped a truckload of gravel on your driveway and while the truck was emptying, they tossed in 6 diamonds, what would you do?"

Most people would say that they would start sifting through each piece of gravel, one by one, until they had recovered the diamonds. That is correct, but something that most people fail to pick up on is that the pile of gravel is on your driveway!

Each piece of gravel represents someone in your local community, so why not start with your own neighborhood?

Just my tuppence worth.

34  .WS Business / Team Building / Re: What would $1 a Day do for YOUR GDI Business? on: July 15, 2008, 02:37:49 PM
Hey people, i'm at poverty level. This isn't my computer. According to my adwords stats, I've gotten 18 clicks. I had to pause that campaign because of money. I got on that rotator at clixsense. I placed some free classifieds. Acording to my hit logs at GDI, I've had 14 unique hits in almost a month. Still waiting for that 1st sign up and hopeing that she/he will be a super affilliate. I'm a full time student mon-thurs and a full time father on the weekends. I'm looking for an evening job to hold me over till I get a job through the school.

This GDI business is the best on the web. I mean, you all know that GDI stands alone when being compared to all these big shot gurus. I'm in it for the long haul. I couldn't afford the GDI business cards but I found a place to get them made the way I want them for a whole lot cheaper($5). When I goto town or anywhere, I stick them in magazines or books or I just set a pile on the shelf. I create my own flyers and post them wherever I can. I'm a total newbie but I can see the value of my GDI business. I look forward to making a nice monthly check even if it's 2 years from now.

                                                                                                                                      Stacy

Stacy,

If you are so financially challenged, may I suggest you make use of a signature file in forums. Most people make the mistake of posting in forums that are to do with internet marketing, or working at home. That's not such a good idea.

A better idea is to select about five or six forums that specialize in subjects that you have a big interest in. Try and make sure that they are nothing to do with business (on or off-line). Make at least one post each day on each forum, either as a reply to another post or as a request for help.

Make sure that your posts are informative and not just, "Me too!" sort of posts. The latter will do your reputation more harm than good.

As people on the forums get to know and respect you they will start taking an interest in GDI. You will get sign-ups, especially with the rate of inflation and the credit crunch.

I use the GDI statement of:
1000's of people worldwide are making
quiet fortunes part-time from home.
http://freedom.ws/xxxx/show_dvd

xxx represents your GDI username.

This strategy does take time but it works.
35  .WS Business / Marketing / Re: Freedom.ws Or Website.ws on: July 11, 2008, 04:15:14 AM
I am totally confused.

On the rare occasion when I surf the TE's, I see a GDI site where a video automatically starts with two people (a young lady and a gentleman) giving an exited presentation.

Could someone please tell me what the URL is?

Also, the online streaming DVD takes an awful lot of bandwidth which makes the presentation very jumpy. I know there is more modern technology that overcomes this, because a friend of mine is in another company, that uses online Video streaming and I have no problems watching their presentation.

Hello Chip,

Thanks for the info. I presume that is 50,000+ people in GDI. Is that correct, or is it 50,000 members who use this forum?

Gordon

50,000 represents the number of people who use the forum.

Thank you, Frank:

Have you any idea on the number of active GDI Members, not just in this forum?

38  .WS Business / Team Building / Re: Build a SOLID team and retain them! on: October 05, 2007, 12:21:33 PM
How's this for an idea? - A bit of a marathon post - this
one.

There are fairly well supported statistics that indicate
that...

1. only 5% of people in Network Marketing will be
successful to any measurable degree
2. That means 95% will will not be successful - sorry to
state the obvious  Wink

The 5% who succeed will do so, generally with, or without
your help. You will probably learn from them.  Smiley

Cheers,

Gordon

I understand that the 80/20 rule plays a part in that 80
out of 100 people who join network marketing will fail
anyway. They tend to say, "just wasn't for me!" I believe
that they were recruited by inappropriate advertising - not
deliberately inappropriate, but inappropriate just the
same.

With these 80 out of 100, nothing you do will keep them in
and any time you spend on them will be wasted. They make up
80%, so you could save 80% of your time by not dealing with
them.

So now we have 5% who will be successful ANYWAY, 80% who
will fail ANYWAY. That leaves 15. What about them?

These 15 love Network Marketing, understand that to succeed
they've got to build a team and to do that they have to get
the word out through marketing and promotion.

I cannot remember for certain who it was who said this,
'Network Marketing is a "Marketing & Promotion" business
pursued by people who have no clue about either!' - might
have been one of Mike Dillard's statements.

I believe that the 15 left over are clueless about
Marketing & Promotion. They are the ones that need your
time, help and support, because unless they know how to
build a team, they won't be able to teach any downline that
they sponsor by accidental means.

But here's the challenge. How do you...

1. Identify the 5% who are going to succeed anyway and
don't need your help?

2. Identify the 80% who will quit anyway, regardless of
what you try to do for them?

3. Identify the 15 will quit because they are clueless
about how to build a team?

I think the answer is this:

BEFORE anyone is asked to join your program (this solution,
I believe is generically suitable), show them the complete
system, first, for free and without any obligation, or time
restrictions. Let them evaluate it, try it out, see if it
fits comfortably and whther it works. Let them decide
whether they want to use the marketing and promotion
strategies that make up the system, or not.

In exchange for this unlimited trial opportunity, they
agree to you sending them timely messages undating them on
any changes, special offers, or points of significance and
importance, etc. This is done via auto-responder and they
can unsubscribe at any time.

Let's look at what might just happen...

1. the 5% who know what to do will add some of the
strategies of your system to their own arsenal and succeed
even faster.

2. The 80% will decide that they don't want to do what it
takes and head off elsewhere to keep looking for that
"something for nothing" opportunity. They'll do this
without any input from you.

3. The 15% will have at their disposal all the strategies
and tactics to combine with their enthusiasm and commitment
and be successful. Not only that but any members they
recruit will have already been exposed to the same
systemized process - meaning 5% will succeed anyway, 80
percent will quit anyway, and 15% will receive the know-how
they so desperately need.

One final point. If you change from having only 5% succeed
to having 20% succeed, that's 400% better. How quickly do
you think your business would grow now?

There you have it.

39  .WS Business / Marketing / Re: Sigs...share what works for YOU! on: October 05, 2007, 06:06:50 AM
I do a bit of promoting on Google - using theiir Adwords and I think they
may be able to teach us something here for our Signature file.

In Google they say look at your company's  landing page and try to use
something in your advert copy that is from your landing page. Since your
sig file is an advert, why not adopt a similar approach.

Here is a suggestion from your http://freedom.ws/your_username  landing
page, which I think lends itself brilliantly to a signature file:

===================================
1000s of people worldwide are earning quiet fortunes,
from their homes, even while they sleep. Are you next?

Get Started for free right now! (your link)
===================================

Not very imaginative really, on my part, but I think that the GDI marketing
team know what they are doing and we shouldn't ignore that.

40  .WS Business / Marketing / Re: Looking for Marketing Tips on: September 27, 2007, 12:50:50 PM
I signed up for GDI about 2 weeks ago and I am very excited about the potential earnings to be made but I am new to the whole Internet Marketing and would like some advise on how to sell this opportunity if anyone has any ideas Please let me know

Thank You Cool

When we got SERIOUS we started putting friends, in the invite system, bought 10 DVDs, and Business Cards
We also downloaded the Flyer to Word, made it personal, and posted them where we could.

On tip we use all the time.  3 Foot Rule.  If you get within three feet of us, we hand you a business card, and
say, Hello, I am Dick Lewis, this is my company, and we are looking for folks to help us working from their home.
Go to the website and watch a 7 min video.  It tells you all about it.

Some will ask, what is it?  I say, It's about handing out cards like this, people go to the website, and many join
up with us.  It's FREE for 7 days.  Go take a look.

OK, but What is it?

Well, I can't tell you in 30 mins what the movie will show you in 7 mins. Just take a look, We Did, and wow! What
a Difference it's made in our life.

Dick & Regina Lewis

Hello Dick and Regina,

When you are sitting at your computer using internet marketing to
promote GDI, you are only 3 feet from the rest of the world!

Frank

How do I do that, please?

42  .WS Business / Training / Re: Daily Plan of Action on: June 12, 2007, 03:14:33 AM
My daily plan is to stay resolute and show this business to at least another two people.

One of my inspirations was this:-

Independent business owner, Kevin Harris from Amway, motivated aspirational sales people by telling them what it took to be successful. "I simply showed the business plan 1200 times - 900 people said no and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300 only 35 were serious and in the end only 11 of those 35 made me a millionaire."

Those figures appear to mirror the NWM Industry average.

Out of 100 people who are shown the plan, 75 will say "No!", 15 will become wholesale customers, 9 will do a little recruiting and 1 will build a big business.

Cheers,

Gordon
