1  .WS Services / WebSite Development / Logo Banners Please on: October 31, 2011, 10:02:38 AM
Although some people like those blinking, flashing, animated banners, I abhor them.
I would like to suggest that the Website.ws,  or the Global Domains International logos be made available on the banner page... no blinking please...  Sometimes simple is best.

Right now I have to copy the image and then embed the hyperlink to my referral page... and it has to be done through the text box or gallery... it would be nice to have the code to copy to the Source page so the image is exactly where I want it... no matter what browser a user is viewing from.

Click on 'Text' in the movable menu
When the text edit window opens, look at the bottom, you will see 3 tabs "Design", "Source", and "Preview".
Click on the "Source" tab
Paste the code in this window (Ctrl V)
Click on the "Design" tab to see what the code looks like
If you are happy with what it looks like, click OK at the bottom
Then click on the page where you want the banner placed and the banner will place itself there.

4  .WS Services / WebSite Development / Meta Tags on: January 18, 2009, 09:12:06 AM
Does anyone know if site builder is now saving meta tags?  I'm trying to verify my website through Google Webmaster for their bot to crawl but their verification system can't find the meta tag that I inserted and saved.

Has anyone had any success with saving meta tags in SiteBuilder?

Never mind.... I spent a few more hours and finally got the job done.  Check out my site at http://www.calliesflowers.com   Grin
I also discovered that if you log into the website from a secure work intranet, such as the one I work at, then many features on some webpages are blocked by the network.  The pictures on my website have hyperlinks to products from the Linkshare and Google affiliate networks... My work intranet was blocking those.  But otherwise the site turned out great.

After my site is published, can I add additional content and re-publish?

6  .WS Services / WebSite Development / Re: Site builder - Big Trouble on: November 15, 2008, 04:51:14 PM
I have been trying to build my website for the last 7 days.  Site Builder is a very simple web builder, but it is giving me a real headache.  I got my webpage finished off TWICE already.  Saved it, previewed it, puglished it.  When I previewed it, Perfection.  After I published it, I opened a new browser and viewed it - Perfection.  Loved it.  Now here I am, 7 hours later and the site has turned to crap.  My pictures are gone except for 1.  The links are still there, but what the heck is going on?

This is the Second time I've done this and both times the same problem.  What is causing this?  I joined for the website and hosting, not for the "program".  If the site building and hosting is this much trouble, then it's too much trouble.  Help, Help, Help.

7  .WS Services / WebSite Development / Disappearing Act - What is Happening to my changes? on: November 13, 2008, 09:47:21 AM
I've spent the last 3 evenings adding content to my website.  After each change I click "OK" at the bottom of the editor, and then "Save" on the sidebar thingy to save my changes.  When the changes load up nothing but the original content is saved.  I have not published the page, I'm just trying to add additional content, pictures and text, while also hyperlinking the pictures and some of the text.

Anyone know why the added content disappears when you save it?  I'm still in the trial period, is full functionality of the editor restricted until after the 7 day trial period?  Maybe I've used up too much space with my picture files?  Anyone have any answers/suggestions?

Believe it or not, I came across GDI back when they were net-infants... I joined up then, but it was somewhere around the $50 p/m price range back then... and they didn't have even 1/4 of the fabulous stuff available they now have.  Back then I did the try out, but $50 a mth was a bit steep and I didn't want to promote another "program" so I quit.  IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN  Shocked

I have another website that I Love (my big hobby)  www.calliesgardens.com - it's hosted on GoDaddy, but I wanted a simple one page site for my online flower orders to cash in on the Christmas season.  I went looking on the net for an inexpensive, all-inclusive, web hosting package for a one page site.  I stress the inexpensive part because I'm already dishing out enough $$ for my other site. I was floored when I came across GDI... never thought they'd be the answer to my search.

I'm really excited to have the best of both worlds available to me.  Wow, GDI, you've come a long way... I'm glad I found you again.  Hey that reminds me of that song "At Last" by Etta James  Grin
