Hi

It has been a while here. I am now what you would call a GDI long termer.
My site has been through quite a few incarnations and I have now settled on this
for a while, seems to be attracting good traffic and is easy to build backlinks to.
Google seems to like it as it has been climbing the rankings after the overhaul.

After all what is a website if it isn't getting traffic to it right!

Anyway check it out and let me know what you think, you may even
get a tip or two or give me a couple  Smiley

Hi

I also would like to set up an Article Directory to improve traffic to my site.
I need php access and curl extensions loaded

When I try to get my directory loaded on to the server I get the following error message

"Oops... Curl extension is not loaded. Please contact your webhost with this error message."

I have done this on every other website I own on other hosting platforms and this is very much
a basic, standard requirement for those services and they are cheaper than this.

Why would GDI bother advertising their hosting as basic when it does not offer the basic hosting service?

I am not trying to be critical here as I am a long standing and generally satisfied member but this service
has been requested by many for years and is still not being attended to. Static GDI sites just will not rate
with the search engines if the tools to do so are not available. Many will have sites that no-one visits, please
again we ask to give us mysql and php access. Surely it is not too hard in 2010.

Cheers

Hi

I must say that my upline is not dead it is EXTINCT. I have been a member now for 8 months have advertised the beejeezes out of this program from ppc to safelists to traffic exchanges to listbuilders, classified ads it has cost me over $2000 and I have not got one sign up! I consider myself to be a reasonable writer, I am not pushy nor overbearing. I have had sign ups but when they do (sign up) they do not respond to my offers of support and generally quit before seven days or if they hang on past the trial they quit before 2 months.

My upline has contacted me once in the whole 8 months, that is out of 5 of them, one received contact! I see some of them in the leader boards consistently but they seem to have nothing to share, they do not answer emails. I wish I could change sponsors but cannot as I have put too much work in my site and have optimized my domain names now so I do not want to lose them, they are too valuable for me in promoting programs other than GDI (ones that ARE working for me).

GDI is a good product this is why I am still here, the product itself offers such good value, it is just a mighty shame that I seem to be caught blind on the business opportunity here as now my leg of the business seems to be dead. I need water but there is none forthcoming.

In spite of all this I remain steadfast and optimistic I will not let up nor give in. The strength of the product allows me this and I believe in this company strongly.

Cheers

Hi

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the season.

I have once again added some touches to my, work in progress, website http://www.clickon.ws please feedback is very welcome.

Once again the new year is upon us with a time to reflect and a time to project. The year, as always, had its ups and downs and continual global threats from terror and our own destructive environmental habits wore on. Still we have seen some progress, none the least the realization that we must change and something must be done. Action is occurring, compassion is returning. We must take good care of each other and of what is around us. Just my thoughts.

Keep warm, keep safe above all keep smiling.

Onward and Upward in 2008

Hi

Definitely good advice from Paula on changing your page names from page 1, 2 etc to something describing your main subject for that page. If you optimise this name to a word or phrase that you will be using regularly in your main body text of your page then you will have completed your first task in Search Engine Optimisation. That is you are making your site friendly to all the search engines particularly Google. This is a good first step in getting your site indexed and seen by others on the web, a goal we all share!
It is also a good idea to change your home page to another name other than the hugely overused and therefore massively too competitive Home tag. You will see on my site, http://www.clickon.ws, that I have not done that yet, simple reason is I have a sort of writers block on what term I should use. Any suggestions?

Hi

Still tinkering with my site. Because i am on a Mac I just like a little feedback on how the site is appearing on other systems / browsers. Site is http://www.clickon.ws.
Have had trouble with sizing and resizing page, have tried quite a few remedies but all they do is jumble my site all over the place I may have to stick with what I have as far as size in browser is concerned and put it down to using a mac. Please any suggestions welcome.

8  .WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / How do I host a downloadable file and thankyou page on GDI? on: August 01, 2007, 05:54:00 PM
Hi

I have been wrestling with this for a while. I want to publish some files and make them available by download through my site. This is very important to me and one of the main reasons I wanted a website. I want people to be able to download my files and then be thanked by way of a thank you page. How is the thankyou.html file hosted and how are my product/article files hosted for download? I cannot find anywhere to upload my files. i am using the inbuilt sitebuilder and all that allows me to do is graphics and small media files (100mb is not much). If anyone can help me here it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanx Paula

I really do not know how to fix the scrolling issue. I have tried formatting differently but the same thing occurs. It is strange because I am using the exact same tools as a workmate of mine who is also in GDI, with the same formatting options and his site views fine without the need to side scroll. The only difference in what we are doing is that he uses a PC and I use a Macintosh, maybe this is the problem. If this is the issue then I will have to live with the problem because this Mac just cost me too much to disregard, besides I love my Mac  Wink

Unfortunately upline support is very conspicious with GDI for its absence. I have been with GDI now for 4 months and nothing as yet from any uplines. If it wasn't for this forum there would simply be no team environment at all with GDI. I agree with a previous post, I feel that I am in this on my own. It is frustrating, particularly when I see a couple of my uplines consistently on the leader boards and I am struggling to attract anyone despite my, not insignificant, advertising and promotion campaigns.

Eternally optimistic

Have a good one!

Thanks Paula

I do hope I have some success and wish you the same. Tried my site on work computers running XP and showed fine. Will probably test on some other systems in the near future (friends etc). I do appreciate the feedback and if you or anyone else find a problem or have a suggestion they are most welcome. Sharing is what it's all about, this way we may all help each other achieve. My site has evolved a little more (added more pages), feel free to check it out.

Hi Paula

Re http://www.clickon.ws

Thanks for your input much appreciated. Site built with single column shows fine on my computer (without side scrolling). Perhaps resolution is the problem. I use a mac with osx tiger with high res, Would this effect the way my site shows on other systems?
Sitebuilder is a little limited in design options, as it is I get 4000 character limit frequently so it is quite frustrating when laying out site, the format used seems to be the only option I have to get anywhere near the look and feel I am after. I have tried other formats included but just ended up going around in circles and spending much wasted time screwing up the paper and throwing in rubbish bin so to speak. I would prefer to use sitebuilder as it is a good advertisement for GDI's product plus I am still quite a novice with other professional editors. Any thoughts?
