1  .WS Services / WebSite Development / Re: Do you need to build your website to permote GDI? on: September 21, 2005, 09:03:26 PM
Hi Corine and Welcome to GDI !!!  I will try to answer your questions but I'm fairly new myself......

The website you were given when you signed up, well depending on exactly which one your talking about.  this one... www.website.ws/username is a link that you can give out so people can watch the movie.  This is the one I promote because when I first signed up with GDI I was thinking more along the lines of "cool a website I can build myself for my medical massage clinic!!" I wasn't thinking about the GDI opportunity.  So my .ws domain name I choose was www.aspenclinicalmassage.ws  This domain cost me $10 a month. I have started to build that site but have not "published" it to the web so it's automatically forwarded to the GDI opportunity page until I publish it. Now since I've joined GDI and decided I really liked the opportunity I will be doing another "domain" name (at $10 a month) geared to my GDI business.  Haven't figured out what to call that one though......  So until then I promote website.ws/username.

So you can build your site and people will still be directed to an opportunity page until it's done and you've "published" it.  And if you have not choosen a .ws domain name, no it will not cost you another $10.

I hope this helps

Much success
Sherice

I wasn't able to be here on the 11th to listen to the radio show so I waited patiently for it to be archived and put on there last night, and no luck. So I grabbed my coffeee this morning and logged on and it's still not there!!!   Sad    When will it be archived so we can listen?  I'm anxious to listen!!!

Thanks

Another Idea I had is based on target marketing.  Each page you have is for a different target market.  For example, you have an ad on a moms site and the link goes to your moms page but they can not see any other pages. THen you have another ad targeting churches to use as a fund raiser for their church or youth group, again thats the only page they can see.    And another one geared to MLM'ers.  Now I would not approach a church the same way I would a MLM'er.  How I would say things would all be different.  If someone came to my site and seen all the different ways I'm approaching my business they might not like it. Now if it was someone who has been involved with MLM'ing for awhile they would know why I have different pages geared to different markets, but alot of people wouldn't.  So I feel being able to have hidden pages on our websites would be a great tool for us to help in building our business.

So to our support team.....  Being able to have hidden pages is one more tool we have to market GDI.  The more tools we have the better we can promote and build our businesses!!

Thanks for listenin

Welcome Tim & Deneye!!  You found one of the greatest places on the www!!  I wish you the best with your new business!!

Deneye, I too am starting to build my website.  With GDI's website builder it's really easy, even for people with no html experience  (like me  Smiley )  If you read thru the forum there is a ton of information!!  And under the "website" thread there is a post on html help.  Also use the search bar at the top of your window to help find certain things.  Feel free to email or PM if you have any questions.

Much success to you

6  .WS Business / Marketing / Brochure Ideas on: August 30, 2005, 08:11:37 PM
Hi Y'all !!  While reading more of the posts here I thought maybe I would make a brochure about GDI. Some how post it here for all to use.  The posts about school starting, college students, ect thought maybe a brochure would be a good idea.  So I'm looking for info to put in the brochure.  I have my own ideas but there are more experienced people here that could say it better than me!!  So tell me what you would want it to say, give me the professional version that can actually be used. (I'm not good at wording things)  And if you have pics that I can use in the brochure let me know or give me links.  Can I use verbage right from this site? (copy & paste)   Let me know what you think and your ideas!!!

I have a question regarding the spam policy.....

Any e-message sent or posted via chat rooms, instant messaging systems, newsgroups, message boards, or Usenet is Spam

My question is in regards to msg boards.  I believe I have seen posts to the effect of posting on msg boards or forums.  I can see chat rooms, IM's ect. But I have to admit that I did post banners on a couple voy forums.  They were business opportunity forums (voy was the first free site I found) If I'm not mistaken most of them said post your opportunity type of thing.  So what is the rules about that?   I want to make certain, I don't want to be a SPAMMER!!!  As I get WAY to many of them myself and don't like them!! But now here's a question.....  If someone sends you an email regarding an opportunity can we send ours to them?  "YEAH yours sounds nice but mines better!!"  LOL

HI Sean.  I'm from northern Mi and people up here are even worse!!!  I just started but I'm not going to give up!  Out of 10 emails I sent out I had one sign up!!  Grin  Not bad for my first day and first try!!  But then again they are people who have belonged to network marteting and have been successful at it before, soooo.  I think i am going to make up lil flyers (4 to a page) and get some teenagers to put them on cars at the mall, ect.  See what that brings.  I am going to make up business cards and leave them places.  I';m not sure what else yet.  But I knows theres people out there who will see this as a great opportunity!!  Hopefully if theres more Mich. people we can have a meet and greet and share our ideas and what not!

12  .WS Business / Marketing / Re: Part 2 - Ads, flyers and business letters.... on: August 27, 2005, 01:05:18 PM
Hi y'all !!!  I am very new (signed up yesterday)  Grin  I have been reading thru all these posts and love all the ideas out there!!! I plan on implementing alot of them!!  Just thought I would comment on some earlier posts (from about Aug Cool About marketing the product vs opportunity.  I know I usually turn away 99% of the "opportunites" that have come my way. As I have been burned several times and alot of them are scams.  I know alot of people out there that feel the same way.  So therefore I'm hesitant to advertise the "opportunity" but on the other hand I know people who are open to opportunities.  So therefore I will market in both ways.  The people I personally know I will market according to how I know they will take the info, otherwise to the general public I will to market both ways.  Or think of a way that doesn't quite come across as either way specifically but peaks interest.  My daughter is involved in pageants (natural not beauty) and moms are always looking for fundraisers.  So this morning I posted a msg on one of the pageants msg boards about fundraising.  I posted as a mom who found a new fundraiser.  I have posted there before so it won't come across as spam and off course the money earned (hopefully!!!) from this will go to help pay for future events she joins.  So in that respect I was trying to fill a "need" where as if I posted as an "oppprtunity" it wouldn't have gone over at all and would probly have been deleted by adims of the site.  Now I am a medical massage therapist and go regularly to a msg board that is wonderful for us thereapist!!  All positive stuff, great help for any thereapist out there.  There is no spamming or anything like that on that board.  So was thinking of a way to market on there.  Well last night I posted a msg about website help.  Said I was building a website and needed help with what to say (my ws webite is for my massage business) so hopefully I will get suggestions and then after I get the website done and published I will post "Ok website is done, check it out and let me know what you think" and either on the post and on my website there will be something about "build your own website for only $10 a month"  type of thing.  So therefore I'm not coming across as an opportunity but trying to fill a need.

So ayway thats my 2 cents on opportunity vs produst(need)  I feel both ways have pros and cons depending on the person, and I plan on doing both. I feel this is the best "opportunity" I have come across.  I have done a few in the past, from everday Mary Kay, tupperware things to Herbal Life  (and another one similar that I can't remember the name of, lol) That were based on network marketing/mlm.  This has been the cheapest one by far and no products to by but yet I get a product I want (website) and no minimums, auto ship, trying to sell something to people that you know they might not have the money to afford, ect.  So hopefully my gut feeling on this one is right and I actually WILL make some money this time!!
Success to everyone!! Send some good vibes my way as a newbie!!  Grin

Sorry for such a long post Embarrassed
