It's worth noting that the Support Department does not respond to posts in this forum - if you have issues you want them to address then you should contact Support directly.
Here is the reply I received on aug 12 from Support when I asked about new templates and commented that there were lots of issues being raised in the forum about v4:
===================== Reply begins ==============
Thank you for your email. In response to the issues you are experiencing:
1. Our new templates are not currently available. Once we have worked out all of the technical bugs in the new SiteBuilder, we will begin releasing the updated templates we have previously mentioned.
2. Since the release of the new SiteBuilder, our support department has been inundated with telephone calls and emails regarding the subject. Unfortunately, this then delays our standard response time; this may cause some of our Affiliates to feel that posting on the Forum will resolve their issues. All of the issues that you have mentioned that are listed in the Forum we have received emails or call for as well. In reply:
> While we are corking out technical bugs, it is considerably easier for our technical department to work on the program while it is hosted on slower servers. This is more efficient for all parties involved, and we apologize for the slow loading time that you may have to deal with while the program is being smoothed out.
> Global Domains International has never offered tutorials nor guides on how to utilize our services; we feel that they are relatively self explanatory, and the "Help" or FAQ section will suffice. If there are additional issues not addressed there, Affiliates may contact our support department for further assistance.
> Wide width is an error that is currently being worked on by our technical department. We hope to have this issue resolved soon.
> We intentionally chose certain icons and designed our interface to be more aesthetically appealing and user-friendly. We do not feel that it is necessarily childish or juvenile.
> Updates that are not being saved is one of the larger bugs that we are attempting to work out of the system at this time. This has been resolved to an extent; we are seeing more cases of updates actually saving, however we are still working to come to a full and complete resolution regarding this issue.
> Meta tags, keywords, and descriptions are no longer being removed by our system. If you enter this information and it disappears, the update ay not have saved correctly, or the information may not have been entered correctly.
These issues are all errors that our technical department did not foresee when the new SiteBuilder was pushed live; the migration process for sites built in SiteBuilder 3.0 to the new version has run into a number of roadblocks that we did not believe would be an issue; unfortunately, these things became issues.
3. There are currently no plans to reinstate or allow access to our prior version of SiteBuilder; to have to migrate all info back to that program at this time would cause further frustration, as Affiliate websites would, once again, be in shambles. We will work out each bug in the new system as they come along, and make updates to the system as appropriate.
4. While the issues you mentioned were the main issues, there were many more thoughts, ideas, and suggestions from a wide gamut of our Affiliates. In an effort to offer a program that would entice current customers and give them something they could be proud to promote, we took all suggestions into account. To update the old SiteBuilder with all of these ideas would have been impossible, without rolling out a new version of the program. Your websites are important to us as well, and as mentioned, we did not anticipate the errors and issues that we are currently dealing with; everything was planned to simply release the new SiteBuilder and have it fully functional immediately. Unfortunately, our system simply rejected the updates and information in the upgrade.
We appreciate your input, and will gladly forward your thoughts on to the appropriate department. We feel that as we continue to work out the functionality of the new SiteBuilder, all of our Affiliates will come to appreciate the new program and the updates it includes.
==================== end of response ===============
I think it would have been useful if we had received an update from admin on the problems and how they are being tackled as it would have helped ease our frustration. However, I hope this post will show that the issues are being addressed.

I just returned from vacation yesterday and was thrilled to see that the new sitebuilder has been introduced as I've been eagerly awaiting its arrival. However, I've just tried to play around with it and have had a frustrating time.
My main concern with the previous sitebuilder (apart from the limit to the text block size) was the limited selection of templates. Where are the new ones? I still can only access the original selection eventhough the info talks about business and nature designs. Are the new templates only available if you are creating a website for the first time or have they just not been added yet?
Can anyone else access the new templates? My sites both have the max of 10 pages, so I can't create a new page to see what happens.

Hi, Here's a random tip for making your 'About me' page look tidy and attractive to visitors. I had originally put all my links in an unorganized list, but always thought it looked messy and uninviting instead of enticing for people to click. I recently I saw a table being used (I think on someone's eBay Me page) so I swiped the idea and am very happy with the outcome. Take a look at http://awebsite.ws/aboutme I think the links table looks pretty sharp and has made a huge improvement to the overall appearance of the page. It seems to make the links much more distict too. The only downside is that I have maxed out the size of the edit block so cannot add any more links to that particular table. What I can do is create another one and perhaps split the list into maybe blogs and websites. This design would work for anyone - I just created a 2 column by 7 row table that is 90% of the page width. Why not try it too? Sandra

(I have other plans for the 'fun & freebies' page - that's just temp, and the Spanish page is in development). Please take a look: http://awebsite.wsThere's lot's of content on there which Google picked up on a while back - it really does pay to develop your GDI real estate as much as possible. Sandra

Hi,
Sounds to me like you timed out and the info in your edit block was lost.
Hopefully, you have a copy of the text and you will be able to paste it back into an edit block and click submit.
You can add and submit more edit blocks as required. Click 'publish all', and you should be able to see your page in the preview or on the website. Make sure you have selected that the page be visible.
I've lost info because of the system timing out - it's very frustrating! As a rule, I write the text in notepad or word first and then paste it into sitebuilder - much safer.

.WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: Questions Regarding my Downline

Howard,
Thanks for your response, but I think you missed my main concern - the impact of grey deactivated people disrupting the info flow. Can you answer the questions about greys?
Unfortunately, your suggestion for contacting inactive orange level 2s, does not work as you described - yes, I can find their username from my downline chart, but I get an error mesage when I insert it into the url you gave. I tried it for 2 different users just to be sure. In both cases it states that it is an invalid username and, asks for the sponsors id. If you enter the sponsor's username you get a page that says the site has been disabled because of abuse.
Ever get the feeling you are going round in circles?
Can any one else make any suggestions?

.WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / My Problem with a Deactivated (grey) member........
|
on: October 02, 2005, 09:48:53 AM

I've read the posts about inactive (orange) members and the advantages of keeping them in the downline - they are contactable, are your warmest prospects, and could change their minds any second and become active. However, this argument only holds if you are talking about your level 1 because we don't have info for levels below that. This fact leads me to my main point.......
I recently had a level 1 signup who rapidly added to his downline during his trial period. I wrote and congratulated him, and when I returned from holiday expected to see that he had become a full member. Surprisingly, he had not , and a few days later had been cancelled for abuse. I decide to act quickly and contact his signups, but the only way to do this was by broadcasting to all my level 2 and 3 - not ideal.
I am pleased to say that a number of his level 1s have become active members, but I have no way to directly contact his inactive members and try to encourage them to join - I don't think they will have had much, if any support from him.
Questions: Does anyone know .......
1) How long are deactivated members given to repent and become active again or permanently terminated? It's been over 2 weeks now - I would really benefit from downline compression so that I can contact his lost signups.
2) I have one of his level 1s who became active but now has gone grey. She has not been tagged for abuse so I think she has chosen to cancel though I'm not sure why. Same question - are such cases going to stay in the chart for an indefinite period?
3) If someone is disabled for abuse, is there any way that their level 1 information can automatically be revealed to their sponsor so as to avoid leaving groups of members and potential members without direct upline support at a crutial time?
Apologies if this has already been covered - it's amazing how many posts there are to catch up on when you've been away!!

I was going to wait for the new website builder, but patience is not one of my virtues so I decided to crack on with the current one. Please take a look: http://awebsite.wsI'll be adding to the resources section, and possibly spinning most of the fundraising info off onto another dedicated website(maybe). I was surprised to find that you only really use about half a dozen html codes which wasn't too bad. i think the hardest part is planning and perfecting the content - once you start, it's hard to stop rewriting and adding. .WS/GDI Discussion / New Member? / Re: Anyone from the UK
|
on: May 27, 2005, 11:02:24 AM

Hi, Sandra here - originally from the Northeast but now living near Reading, Berkshire by way of Canada, Japan and France. Yes, the UK is a difficult nut to crack - hopefully we won't end up earning peanuts! I'm going to primarily market the product rather than the opportuinity, and see how that goes. I'm planning to set up a webste to do this - it'll be a case of "If I can do this, you can too". I think the "in-your-face" recruiting site instantly scares Brits away. I've found that anything to do with network marketing immediately brings the shutters down. I do believe the time is right for this (even in the UK), we just have to keep plugging away - there are so many differect niches to market the GDI package to. I suspect we'll do much better offline than by using UK leads online (if there are any). Good luck to us all
