Hello everyone. I have a blog that I'm trying to get hosted. I have have the ws hosting feature, but don't know how to use it. I did recieve a email with some information about about ftp.hosting.ws and my user name password, I even downloaded a ftp client so I could transfer my blog, but I have no clue how to do that Huh. If anyone is understands this sort of thing could you please walk me through the process.

Thank you

Hi Julie
ok, just check a couple of things,  You already have your site/blog build and now you just need to host it on the GDI Hosting Service?  Which ftp client are you using?

It is really easy to do, let me know when you get a chance and i'll be happy to run you through the process.

Best Wishes

Hey Everyone, Haven't been near the Forum or the Business for 3+ Weeks, Serious Family Emergency. Its my first day back today. about 1600 emails i have to reply to now. (Thank God for Auto responders  Smiley )  But lots of new leads and prospects Smiley always happy to see them.

I'm sure you have all been looking through the forums for idea's, there is tones of stuff in here.

Just find what works for you,  theres lots of really great idea's.

All of you will need an E-mail Auto Responder,  you can download some good ones for FREE - There is really no sense in buying one,  Wait until you have an income.
There's plenty of really good email templates in the forum, just copy them into the Auto Responder,  and add your contacts. and let it the work.

Online and Offline there are lots of ways of getting FREE or cheap advertising.  someone wrote, blogs and forums, they are great ways to bring people to your site.  any website that lets you have a profile, or meet new people, I can think of loads of them.  Don't try and sell it, thats the key,  just have it on your profile,  the more people see it the more they will go to your site to check it out.  just put it infront of there eyes,  you don't need to tell them anything about it.

Its really so good to see more people over this side of the world.

Best wishes to all and good look with your new businesses.

Simon.

Hi Wendy

Not in the UK, just across the water in Dublin, Ireland.  There are plenty of ways of getting free advertising.  I know your getting loads of people wanting you to sign up to this and that, most of which cost more money.  Don't sign up to any of them yet, you can get by for a while without them till you start making some money from this.

IF you'd like send us a personal message and we'll help each other out and keep us both motivated Smiley

This business can and does work - just make the effort and you'll see how good it is.

hi .. i would like know about how to save (upload) the docmt save as webpage in editor page...
can do so? how 2 create webside as simple ...
tq

Hi There,  I find the best way to it is,  In your Editor Page of SiteBuilder,  Click on the HTML tab,  don't worry if you don't under stand any of the HTML.   Just Highlight and Copy all of it and then Paste it into a new Windows Notebook Document.  then Save it using the file name "index.html".

Its good to save all your pages so you have them backed up.

If you want to use the GDI Hosting Service, and upload your own website that you made using a another program.  you will need an "FTP Program".  Just search for a Free FTP Program, there are plenty available on the internet.

Best wishes

Hi All,

I have been trying to update my site, (I am using the hosting option) and would like to know how long it takes AFTER the update for it to take effect.

The file transfer went good with no errors.  I thought it would be fairly immediate but does not seem to be the case.

Thank you for any comments...

Dan

Hi Dan

The Update had probably already taken effect, Try Refreshing your Browser or going into Tools and Internet Options in your Browser and Deleting the Temporary Internet Files.
Your browser may not check for up website updates every time you view a website, therefore you will be seeing the same as the last time you viewed it, (as is in your Temporary Internet Files)

hope this helps

I have been with GDI for almost 3 months and I am in the process of putting my GDI site together.

I have sent a support ticket to my question while I wait for a reply, could I get a different way to solve this problem here.

My question is if you made a mistake with your page 1 not with the template but with the layout can it be removed? as I have tried in properties to change the layout even though I can do it there. I am not getting the required results. What I would like to do is have an image top left hand corner with the Text header along side of that, followed by a couple of bullet points under the header and a few more underneath the image to the left hand side of the table or page.

Hi Grant,

If you insert the image onto your page, then either click "Image Properties" on the Toolbar or Right Click over Picture with mouse and then click "Image Properties". You can play around with the Text Flow in there, Your looking for a Left Flow.

Best wishes
Simon
