Hello to all of you! Welcome and Good Luck! Read all you can tak notes! I did alot of reading and then wish I had written down where I had read something in the beginning...LOL So I started to take notes after that. And then I started a few files to copy and paste things I really wanted to have handy in. Just thought I would pass that on to you! Pamela

.WS Services / WebSite Development / Banner URL link...not html
|
on: March 07, 2007, 11:02:07 AM

I have been looking and asking for the answer to this question and am at a brick wall. I have wanted to put certain banners on surf sites, but in some of them they want the "banner URL site" not the "html" that you put to make the banner. I don't understand this at all. Does that mean a different URL than the origianl "site" URL??? And where can I find this "Banner URL" Computer stupid here! Thanks, Pam

I took me awhile to figure this one out too. I believe if you go to the options under your .ws email, there is a section there where you can set your signature. You might have to search around and read what is for what there (I did, but I confuse easily!) You should find the set your signature in there someplace. Good Luck and let me know if this helps.. Pam

.WS Business / Marketing / Re: Use The Invite System
|
on: March 06, 2007, 06:43:16 AM

Hello, Pamela here. I have also tried sending myself the GDI invite to a couple alternate addys. One I got, the other no. What I have been trying is that when I get a lead asking for the info I send my own email explaining and inviting to GDI. (used email examples found through this forum) I follow up with another email about a week later. I have been doing this for the last 2 weeks (only been in GDI 3-4 weeks). I then have just put the invites through the GDI invite system to see if maybe that works better now. I also took the advice of someone in this forum and changed the Subject from "giving away money" message to something different. I also think that the original one is a bit misleading and people just might not open it. I wish I would have known about changing it on my FIRST 90 invites! I will just have to wait and see if I get any better responce, I guess. At least it is alot easier to keep track of those sent info to! I have also put together a few pages of info, a business card, and a nice "cover page" for postal mailing to those that I have addresses for. I thought that maybe that would help, too. I just wish I had a brochure type thing that I could include along with it. Make it look a bit more proffesional, I think. But I don't know how to do that at a minimal-no cost stage right now (like doing it myself!). My budget is VERY controlled at this time, so making long distance phone calls is, at this time, out of the question for me. But I have some numbers if that changes in the near future. I am hoping that something starts working soon as I am getting a few more "discouraged days" lately. But I am not giving up yet! At $10 a month, making my own biz cards, cost of some copy paper, I think I can hang in there for about a year and see if I can get this going. I really do think it is a great company and a great opportunity! Pamela

Hi Ken,
Welcome! I think the first place would be go to back office and send some invites. Then get familiar with the features in the back office. I love the way this is basically all automated for us! Then read, read, and reread posts in here. There is a wealth of information from all these people. And they are very willing to help you. And don't forget to make a website with the site bulder here!
Welcome again and good luck to us all!

Hello again! In the process of hosting my website via ftp to GDI, I lost all my files somehow... Don't know what happened, but when I went in to "edit" or "view" my site through ISP I used, it was all gone!! I was having trouble getting pics to go through ftp from site ( template I used had alot of pics) Anyway, all was lost even after redoing it 3 times. So I have picked new template, redid it ONCE again, tweeked it a bit, and have what I think is a btter site from original (except for template...I really liked the first one!) Please check out THIS one and see what you think www.marpa.ws I have it set to forward for now, but plan on cracking this ftp thing if it kills me! LOL I want to make sure I have site just the way I want it as I don't want to go through it again...hehehe Any comments or suggestions appreciated. Pam PS. I copied and pasted my contents of this one as I had hard time remembering what all I had in the original! Just in case of emergency again...

This is really frustrationg me I have searched, read, reread all posts in here about using the ftp to host my website to GDI. But I can't get it to work! I have followed the tutorials umpteen times in Smartftp and followed step by step, still nothing. Maybe I am not downloading the correct files from my website?? I am new to ALL of this, so please be patient. Do I need to download all the files from developed website?? I got the email from gdi as to uplaod files information. OK< here is where I might be going wrong....do I go to my website I built get this info to download: Host: ftpmysite.verizon.net user: marpa PW: ********* My homepage IS titled index.html so I did not change it. I downloaded all the files in there and then tried to transfer them to my ftp.hosting.ws folder for uploading. This is were it stalls. It just keeps retrying! Nothing gets finished. Maybe I went to the wrong place to get files, I just don't know anymore. If someone could please helpme I would be grateful the rest of my life!!! Pamela

Hello, I just wanted to share this. I decided to try and make a few business cards...and I think they came out pretty good! It was easy and fun, too. I went to my local Walmart and for about $4 I got a package of Avery business cards/150 ct. I wanted to test out the waters before I got BUNCHES of them..LOL It was fun to pick out and design and so easy! Now mine are a bit different than all others. I made a few for potential leads, and some for marketing to Businesses. I would like to show you picture of them, but don't know how to get them on here.. Pam

Hello Brandon,
I think that is a great idea for the fair. But instead of getting internet to fair, why not just use one of the cds available? Good Luck in your venture!!

Hello! Well, I think I have a website that I like (at this point anyway). Please have a look and see what you think www.marpa.ws I never did anything like this before, so good or bad comments are welcomed. I tried and tried to figure out how to ftp this to my .ws domain, but have yet to accomplish it. I am still working on that! So for now, I just have it set to forward. I just seemed to like the things I could do with this program better at the moment. Guess I wanted something a little bit different I will be awaiting commemnts! Thanks all! I love this forum...I have learned so much and everyone is super friendly and helpful!! Pam

.WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: What is the nature of this business?
|

Yes, my question is "what is the nature of this business?" I have done alot of reading in the last week, and have seen this described alot of ways, that is what confuses me... Would this be labeled a sales, MLM, network marketing, ect.? I just am not sure exactly how to describe this. Felt really dumb when asked that question...what is the nature of your business...like I said, I am new to this so please bear with my dumb questions. I just really want to succeed in this and want to say the correct things. Thanks Pam
