1  .WS Business / Team Building / Re: How I Handled Rejection From A Prospect on: November 20, 2006, 08:34:18 PM
I don't pay attention to the negative people that think every money making opportunity is a pyramid.  It's just plain ignorance, closed minded even.  Maybe they got burned with one sometime.  So what.  I did.  Move on.  There are plent of people willing to take on a legitimate business.  Just the the ignorant people go.  Maybe you'll run into one of them one day when you are making more money than them.  You can tell them how you paid your pyramid taxes.

One of the definitions of a pyramid is not have a product or service in exchange for the money.

Just to let some new people know the difference between Network marketing and Affilaite marketing.  Network marketing is residual.  Affilaite marketing is a one time profit from your sale.  You don't profit every month from the same sale like you would in network marketing.

If I sell a book and make $20 profit because somebody bought it.  Thats it, profit done.  No more money from that person, except if you keep that person in your list, maybe you can sell to that person again later down the road with a different product.

So thats the difference.

2  .WS Services / WebSite Development / Re: How do I ftp with GDI? on: November 17, 2006, 12:29:29 PM
I had the same problem, now I got it all figured out.

First, when you log on through FTP, make sure your website folder is open.  Thats the one thats on GDI web server.  If you open that file you may see other files or folders that you uploaded by mistake, which is why you can't see your website.  It's in a folder inside another folder.

You need to just put your html files directly into your web folder.  Your web folder is the same name as whatever you named your web site.  After that, everthing should be Jim Dandy!

3  .WS Services / WebSite Development / Re: Banner Questions on: November 12, 2006, 05:37:46 AM
You can upload banners to your webspace just to store them, now you have a url for that banner.  You can use a simple web page editor to make your own site as well.  I use Adobe page mill.  It's an old version but that is all I really need for simple webpages and lead capture pages.  I use MS front page also, but that is for advanced users.

To anybody that is having trouble, thay may contact me (PM)  Let me know what your doing.  I have lots of info, and knowledge.  a good start is to get yourself a basic HTML editor.  This will help you a lot!  You will be able to make quick Capture pages to lead people into your business.  Do you use an auto-responder, you will want to use one if you are not already.  If you plan on making money, you need to build a list.  To handle that list is where your auto-responder comes in handy.  If you had a list of a thousand people, how could you handle all that manually.  In real estate it is location, location, location.  In network marketing it is Build your list, list, list.  The money is in the list!

How long it take depends on how acrive you are in promting your business.  There are tons of ways to advertise your business.  Classifieds online and newspaper.  FFA, forum sig files, blogs, capture pages, google add words, adsense by google, posting articals, safelists.  Depending on your advertising methods, you will want to advertise the product or service, not the opportunity.

While you are having trouble with your website, you can still advertise the GDI business, using capture pages.  You may also check other business opp. programs that incorporate GDI into their own business model.  There are probably more than three of them.  I use a couple of them myself.  They are free to use, because you are already a GDI member, you just put in your ID.  They will give you an entire website, just upload it to your GDI host with FTP & then you've got a pro site for free, & you didn't even build it.   Then you promote that website or their lead capture pages, & people like what they see, and also sign up for GDI, and whatever other programs that might be there.  You can PM me for more info.

Many time you get leads, you will get an option to recieve them in a certain format.  I think .cvs is the one that you use for MS excel.  You can also try using the support from the place you got leads from.  They should be able to direct you.  You can also learn to get your own leads.  That will eliminate the problem.  I don't buy leads.  There are a few programs online that incorperate GDI into their own business model.  It will increase your business.  Use the capture pages in your marketing campaigne.  When someone signs up, they are now in your letter email series.  You can add more letters of your own, offer them your personal training.  When you take on a leadership role, people will be more likely to take your advice.  People are naturally attracted to leaders.  Learning network marketing takes time.  This is a people business, communicate with your leads.  Offer them your best help, and don't ignor them.  They are the reason you will make money.  Zig Ziglar once said something like this. "You will get what you want out of life, if you just help others get what they want"...  Words to live by!

I voted.  I use traffic exchanges, I am starting on safe lists just now.  If you use safe lists, make sure you use a seperate email account because you get a lot of mail.  You need to stay on top of that.  When you use traffic exchanges and safe lists, you can see what type of businesses are currently being promoted.  The trick is to advertise the product & service, not the opportunity.  Everybody has a business opportunity already, thats why they are at the traffic exchange.  Lots of them don't have a web site though!  Safe lists are busy.  Look for subject lines that capture your attention.  Write them down or record them in your notes somewhere.  Then you can use them yourself, and modify them if you like.  There are a few other programs out there that incorperate the GDI opportunity into thier own business model.  These sites are of good value because they reach a wider market.

I actually don't have anybody in my downline yet!  I advertise to lots of free sites and a traffic exchange.  I guess it's only a matter of time.  I plan on getting an autoresponder by some time next week.  They also provide fresh leads as well.  When I get that set up I plan to offer my fresh leads to my downline.  Not all of them, maybe half.  help your downline.  I believe it woill pay off.  I just need someone to help!

12  .WS Business / Marketing / Re: I'M NEW TO GDI AND SERIOUSLY NEED HELP on: October 09, 2006, 12:25:34 PM
Everybody faces the same problem no matter what product or service they are promoting.  You need a source of fresh leads.  A good way to do this is use an auto responder.  You enter your email leads into that, and have it send your prospects  a series of newsletters explaining to them why they should join your business opp.

All those traffic exchange places are not very good.  Everybody there already has a business opp. that they are promoting themselves, so why would they drop thiers to join yours.  They need leads also, very few people realize that.  Sell leads to those people in the traffic exchanges.  Or you may use those traffic exchange pages to sell them on the idea that they need thier own domain to help them with thier own marketing efforts.  They would use the new .ws domain as another lead in page to thier own opportunity.  It all in the words you use, and the different approaches of why someone will want to have a dot .ws from you.

So just change the reason for having a .ws. instead of just "join my opp"  tell them why they should have it. To help them promote their own product or service, thats why.

You can put a small add in a national newspaper.  Or even a small local paper.
There are lots of free local community websites in your area that offer free advertising.  Some of them will say "no mlm"  so you promote the service that you provide and send them to a lead in page, not direct to GDI.  I advertise locally in some of the free places and only advertise that I can give them domain and web hosting, not the opportunity, that is secondary in such cases.  I advertise both end of the business.  The opportunity, and seperatly, the product & service.

I have three websites.  I use them to advertise GDI in different ways.

So don't waste too much time in traffic exchanges and surfing for hits.  Use them to promote what everybody is looking for.  Leads and maybe a website & domain from GDI that will help them promote thier own opp.

Thats it for now
