Yes thats true.
But now days you have to be aware of floods of bots. Blog bots content spamming bots. email bots even chat bots there is about a bot for everything now days. I have even written bot scripts myself in C++ and php, etc but for good use, not to spam. One of my blog websites is under constant attack by bots trying to get in and comment on our main posting area. They can't get in but it gets anoying to clean them out of the unapproved comment post sections and seperate them from real content posts. Even hits to your site can contain bots following a link they picked up from another site or even Yahoo or Google, etc. They want backlinks to up their rank on the search engines to there spammy sites.

Hi all, I was reading this section and I seen the request for live chat, I answered this in this post here -->http://talk.ws/index.php?topic=13826.0. You can also check out the Live Chat at http://www.csnserver.com/irc directly. This is real time IRC (Internet Relay Chat) run by our IRC servers that we have. Anyone can chat there. From the website all that is needed is a Java Enabled Browser, no software to download or install. I set this up many years ago, but added the web page interface about 2 years ago. IRC servers in general have been around since the begining of the Internet. This would be a good place to start a GDI Chat group room or channel. Anyone need help just pm me.

Yes,
Inviting someone is a referral, but they have to signup and become part of your downline in your account for you to get paid for them. You will have to build on that concept. You will need alot of hits (traffic to your website or referral link.) But only when they complete the signup and begin paying the monthly $10.00 fee will you get money comming in.
So the most important thing to do is get traffic to your site, without that you won't get anywhere.

.WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Watch Out For Bots!
|

We need to watch out for bots. (robot programs posing as users.)
There is many bots now days and they enter all types of web and other servers including blogs and forums. Here is a list that is only 1 week old of known bots that have wondered onto my apache web servers:
order allow, deny deny from 12.35.110.235 deny from 58.58.149.2 deny from 61.244.235.34 deny from 64.120.31.4 deny from 65.9.251.54 deny from 67.202.123.84 deny from 69.147.248.173 deny from 69.147.248.252 deny from 74.206.98.195 deny from 87.118.124.12 deny from 89.222.171.3 deny from 124.121.93.193 deny from 124.121.99.105 deny from 125.235.241.132 deny from 173.234.19.66 deny from 173.234.13.70 deny from 173.234.18.123 deny from 173.234.19.123 deny from 173.234.19.215 deny from 173.234.28.29 deny from 173.234.38.161 deny from 173.234.38.199 deny from 173.234.87.78 deny from 173.234.87.191 deny from 173.234.177.77 deny from 173.246.36.17 deny from 174.34.170.232 deny from 178.236.241.101 deny from 184.82.111.108 deny from 187.6.85.3 deny from 189.28.0.190 deny from 200.195.132.27 deny from 201.20.18.165 deny from 201.45.156.242 deny from 201.57.234.129 deny from 207.58.167.118 deny from 210.212.218.4 deny from 213.0.89.8 deny from 216.213.45.31 deny from 216.213.45.217 allow from all
Those ip addresses all run bot scripts. Some may have a real user too, but most just run bot scrips and the mail goal is to spread spam on your sites.

I am making some money on Internet marketing but as of yet not on any GDI product. I have been here now since the end of August, 2010. But I have been on the internet since its begining. Started out even has a MBBS Operator in 1989 providing local computer users 9600 up to 56k modem connections to a MBBS Server. When I sold it off in early 1995 with a Internet T1 connection it was making about $9000.00 USD per month with 200 modem lines. The Guys that bought it made money off it and its website for another 3 or 4 years then went out of business. That was the end of that type of business and Corp. companies Like AOL, etc saturated the Market by then. That was the most I ever make in my life *laugh*, I guess those days are gone for good. I have been a small hosting service provider with Unix and Windows Servers after that and still am. But thats not much of a money maker either now with the US dollar value so low and so many others doing it now. They were not around when I started in it. So thats why I am looking around for other money making opertunities. But one thing that does not change is that to make real money you have to be doing something and doing it at a time and place that is not saturated or over saturated. (That means to much market Competition.)

.WS Business / Marketing / Re: Getting Traffic To Your .WS Sites

Hello Kitty, One thing I like is that since you and I are linked in a reciprocal link (you link to me I link to you) is we are reciprocal in agreement but both sites dont link the same path url. your link to me is not the exact same reverse as my link to you. For SEO point of view from a search engine this appears as a more natural inbound link from both sites in question and not just a link exchange. Search engines are now starting to rank higher for natural links than just reciporcal links which in the future may rank you less. The search engines are checking to see if site inbound links have a reverse of the same path. Natural links make your site look more athoritive on its topic, service or product. It also gives the point that other sites are linking to you because of the quality of your site on its subject and not just exchanging links with not thought on the sites topic. Let everyone keep that in mind that a big load of links if just plain exchanges may hurt both sides of each exchange. So natural or quality links are better than quanity to promote your business or website. I have found that the highest ranking inbound links are not of a competitor but from a site that is or contains a topic related to your site and links to you for more information on that topic.

.WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: Spam Policy
|

When I was trying to pin down what was not working with my GDI email forwarding thingy. Never did figure that out-it just started to work again. Weird. But during that period I turned off my ISP spam program. I now get loads of spam. Much without even the disclaimer or opt out notice at the bottom. I wonder how they get away with all that. But I still have the spam stopper not turned on. I am starting to get into the spam. Some of it is downright rude and others are tooo funny. I may be turning into a spam junkie here!!! Help before I turn into a spammer too!! Oh it hurts! But honestly it is way funny-my sides hurt from laughing at the spam I get! I am sick-but I know it. Deborah H ps, SPAMing is bad guys--don't do it..you won't be laughing when you get caught if you are doing it. What a lot of people don't know is spammers use fake email headers and phoney email addresses to send spam, some use open mail relays on the internet (that is a email server that lets any one even a bot send a email from it without having a account on that server). Almost all mail servers now days block senders from sending email if they dont have an account on the mail server. Some spammers host their own mail server to send spam as well.
I have my own mail servers in our business and we also require new incomming emailers to verify to a mail request that they are not a spam bot before allowing their message to be sent to our users. So if they do not reply or their email address is fake their message is held 3 days then deleted.

Hi there Melissa,
You are the first new one or post on here other than me. I was looking all over and most of them were posted way before I joined. I am past my 7 days. But don't have anyone under me yet either. I had one and only one start to sign up on my other website and stopped on the first page. I did capture their email they left, and after sending 2 friendly and Professional Invites and offers of help I desided any more emails to him/her would be spam. I am an ole computer/network engineer so anything techie I can help you with. But getting hits thats where we would all need help. I need 10 just to break even.

Just one thing else I see someone reminded me of, whether we are working with GDI or any other Intermet business, even a brick and mortor business; we are still dealing with the same world and the same people. You are going to have the same progress the same setbacks the same whatever, because its the same people we have to deal with. Just a thought.

So the creation date above is the day I then Joined GDI. I have not got a signup yet. I have had 1 start registeration then stopped I did capture a email address but they never replied to my very friendly email invitation. Also everything that shows in my upline is always offline , well when I log on anyway. I don't have any downline. Different here but when I register a domain for a user, its the traditiional 1 year or so like for .com .net .org .edu .us etc. I have never seen anyone doing it by the month before. That is domain registers like myself and all the others out there. Is it because they host too? but then many of the other registers most of them will also host a site for an extra fee including me. But getting back to the issue no one in my up line is ever online when I am and they never have replied any of them that I have tried. Anyone else have this problem? I am an ole compter and network engineer so anything techie i have no problems with just can't contact anyone about getting a downline going if its possible. Anyone have some Ideas?
