Hello to all you wonderful GDI marketers,

I would appreciate it if you could leave some feedback & let me know how it all looks on your PC's & if everything works like it should.  Thanks so much
Kind regards,
Helen Rodriguez

PS. If anyone is interested in adding similar content to their sites, then please let me know & I will send you the details of where you can find it[/b]

Wonderful effort There are a few things you need to fix. The first is the popup that says do you want to run an activex control? This would put most guys off. The second is for me your images are blurred. This is most likely a resizing problem. There is also a problem somewhere in your javascripts. Otherwise AWESOME!

Thanks for the feedback Rod
I really appreciate it, as I do not know what others see on their PC's. Can you please explain what you mean by the pop-up that says do you want to run an active x control? Does that mean your not able to see it at all or only if you click to allow it? If you can see it,  does it work OK? Please explain this. Also, which pics are blurred? All of them or a few only?? Can you be a bit specific if you can?? Thanks, I would appreciate your reply to let me know. As far as the problem in the scripts go, I copied the code directly from a javascript site & did not alter it in anyway (beside adding my website URL),  so there must be a problem within their scripts somewhere. I think, as long as it all works reasonably OK with no great dramas, I'll leave it alone, as I dont have a clue in how to go about fixing it.

Kind regards,
Helen Rodriguez

3  .WS Services / WebSite Development / Installing databases (my SQL/php) on: May 22, 2006, 11:51:02 AM
Hello everyone,

Its been a while since ive used the forum,(as everything was running smoothly 4 me),  but im back now & i need a little help. I have recently purchased my domain name in 5 different extentions (.com, .net, .info, .biz, .org), so now i truly feel like im the mistress of my domain!! Anyway, im having a bit of difficulty understanding things like databases, my SQL & php. How can i incorporate these things into my site? I want to be able to have dynamic web content on my sites including autoresponders, search page, fully functioning shopping cart, & other popular common scripts. Is there anyone out there that can help with this kind of thing? I already have designed & published a simple site with .ws site builder, but feel im ready for a new challenge. In the end, i would like to have all my sites displaying the same content & plan to upload all the content to one site & have the rest point to that site, so no matter what extention a user enters, they will be directed to my site regardless. Can anyone recommend a good tutorial help guide for novice dummies like me? I have absolutely no knowledge of databases at all. I know what their function is, but cannot understand what i need to do to have it all up & running on my site. Before I joined GDI last October, I didnt know a thing about websites, all i could do, basically, was to send & receive emails. Since joining,  I have come a long way in understanding basic concepts in website knowledge, like HTML. THANKS SO MUCH GDI, for giving me the opportunity to learn!!  It has taken me alot of sleepless nights, but i have taught myself everything i know up to this point. So, i would like to continue with that knowledge & learn about my SQL/php. (Everything I have read on the subject so far has been written for advanced knowledge, even the beginner info!)  I already have downloaded several fully functioning scripts (shopping cart, banner rotation, autoresponder, chatroom, invoicing, document management, directory indexer, plus many many more...)  ready to upload to my site, but have no idea how to go about it. I feel so frustrated, cause i know what i want, but i havent a clue what to do. What i need is slow, patient instruction from someone that has already done it or a recommended, step-by-step, easy to follow tutorial - PLEASE HELP SOMEONE!!!!!! Perhaps you could pm me any recommendations to:  THANKS, much appreciated,
PS. Below is my personal banner i designed using a special free banner template software, cool isnt it? (its not a clickable banner just yet, but will be soon - if anyone would like a free copy of the banner templates to download, please email me )

Kind regards,
HELEN R.

Hello Benjamin,
I have had similar problems in getting to load my photo in my profile.
But, I had help luckily with this & now i have my photo in my profile permanentely!
Do this: use a photo editing program like photobucket (www.photobucket.com).
Become a member for free & then you can start to build your profile.
Create a photo album or individual photos you would like to use.
Just upload the photo(s) from your PC to photobucket.
Right-click on the photo you have selected (in photobucket)
Select "properties" from the list.
Click to highlight the "url".
Copy this highlighted url.
Go to your profile area in the forum, then paste the url.
This should load the photo in your profile permanentely.
Please let me know if this works.
Have fun.
Regards,
Helen.R.

Gidday Jennifer,
Thanks for your reply. I made my own business cards, & the flyer I got from GDI. Its somewhere on the website for all to print out & use. Just substitute your details in the appropriate spaces. Still no downline, although, my sister says she will join soon. She has heaps of contacts,(she's a hairdresser & make-up artist!!)  so im hoping when she joins, my downline will explode!!
No, i havent been in any other mlm businesses before. Im new to all of this, but am very keen to learn all there is & get ahead. Im also involved in a few affiliate programs, & have just applied to ad-sense from google, to put ads on my site & get paid for them. Next, i will apply for ad-words, & work out how much i can afford & just go for it!!!
At least its one way to drive traffic to my site. Hopefully, its just what i need so i can get the exposure!!
One valuable tool ive found is at clickbank. They have lots of free downloads about marketing tips & so forth, its cool. Ive downloaded a few e-books on the subject, & plan to implement them, as soon as i know how. It'll be a good idea to check it out.
Just search "clickbank"& it should take you to the spot. If not, just keep looking around your bound to see it.
Anyway, best of luck with everything. Get working on that website, its a valuable tool to have. Looking forward to viewing it when you finish it!!
regards,
Helen. R.
PS. For others, my check out my site

let me know what you think!!
catch ya all later.

Greetings from Sydney,
Hello to all my fellow Aussies. Hope your all doing well. My name is Helen & im from Sydney. Ive been with GDI since Oct '05. I havent had any luck with my downline as yet, so im thinking of ways to fix this. What about joining together & helping one another?
Also, i have read somewhere about people who get together to form a giant downline together, then they join a wealth business together, maintaining this downline, so everyone benefits. I thought that made alot of sense. Would anyone out there be willing to try this out with me? We could get together & start to recruit people, then could encourage them to join as a group, so we can all do well. Please let me know what you think. (Boy, im desperate, everything i seem to do falls flat, im sick of getting rejection after rejection!!)

Wishing everyone great success!!
Regards,
Merry Xmas & Happy New Year 2006!!

Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for your comments. I think About us pages are very common on websites, as it gives the visitor a feel of the author & just where there coming from. if i were to start some kind of business, i would want to read about the company or the individual to learn about their story.  ive seen alot of gdi'rs with the very same pages. Therefore, i think about me pages are very important. Also, there is no right or wrong way to use sitebuilder for any use, personal or business.
As far as promoting GDI, that is something i will concentrate on more from now on, now that my site is finished. But, in the past, i have purchased leads from gdi (Which got me nowhere), i have distributed flyers around my neighbourhood, business cards, talk to people at work, placed free ads, & e-mailed all my contact list. So far, i havent had a single person join my downline, so now im searching the forum for any marketing ideas, as i dont know where im going wrong. Ive been with GDI since October 14th this year, i think. What about you Jennifer? Have you had better luck than me?? Would also love to hear what kind of marketing you use for promoting GDI. Thanks.
Regards,
Helen.

Hello 2 all,
Thanks so much for your feedback Jennifer. I think your right, i need to put some text on my photos. Thanks for the tip, will do some changing. Sorry that my photo page took a while to load. I have broadband connection too, & i find it helps to hit the refresh button to help it load a little better. Its the song thats taking a little extra time to start. Might decide to cut down on photos (arrange for around 3 slideshows instead, maybe)
Thanks again, do u have yours up?
regards,
helen.r.

A big, big hello to all,
Well, i take great pleasure in announcing that i've finally finished my website & its out there!! Its taken me several weeks of sleepless nights & staying up late, but now i can finally rest easy.
Would like everyone to visit & let me know what you think. (yes, that means sign the guestbook, dont be lazy!)  The only small issue with it is some pages might take a while to load for those that have slow connections (sorry folks!). Im very proud of it, as its my first attempt at creating a website (but hopefully not my last!). I've already checked it & everything is working like it should. I hope it works well on your PC's too! Please let me know if you encounter any problems. Thanks!!

CALLING ALL NOVICES TO BUILDING WEBSITES, Great suggestion from Mark Conley
That is the best suggestion i have heard ever. Im a total novice, & think a weekly (or fortnightly) training session for beginners is ideal. We should all get together & put forward this request to GDI's head department. I have noticed that there are alot of beginners like us involved with GDI & not everyone that joins has knowledge of building websites. Some of us have even no experience at all when it comes to PC's in general.  Also, instructions are sometimes not very clear or not explained in detail, & examples are rarely given, so that we may be able to follow easily. Having a training session would solve all these problems.
 We could be trained in:
1)   step by step easy instructions on how to build  pages from scratch, with examples of each. (& tell us all that can go wrong & how to fix it)
2)   HTML tags & codes (put in simpler terms, than how tutorials explain it)
3)   how to upload files properly & the coding  & jargon involved.(& give examples)
4)  Why & how some problems happen & how to avoid them/solve them.(trouble-shooting guides)
5)  How we can put links on our pages.
Plus more....
You have my 100% support for your suggestions. Im sure there are many others that agree. Calling all you novices out there, please come & lend your support behind this, im sure building a website can be easily acheived by all, with a training session designed especially for us!!
Warmest Regards,
Yours in health, wealth & happiness,
Helen. R.

greetings from SydneyHi to all,
Helen here. I too am fairly new (joined about 2 months ago). I still havent had any luck with my downline. I have placed free ads , distributed the flyers, e-mailed all my contacts, talked to friends & family, purchased leads from GDI (which amounted to nothing), all this & still havent had anyone join yet!! Whats wrong with us? Im very excited with this opportunity, & I cant get others to feel the same somehow!! I regulary scan the forum for tips & ideas, & have tuned into the radio show, too.
What are all you successful Aussies doing? Could you share any of your methods? would appreciated it greatly.

WE DID IT!! GERMANY 2006   HERE WE COME!!!!regards, Helen. R.
