106  .WS Business / Marketing / Using Your Email To Passively Grow Your Downline on: June 10, 2010, 08:20:14 AM
Are you a curious person?  I know I am!  Luckily we are not cats.  Because...you know, curiosity killed the cat?  OK...bad joke.  Ahem!

Hopefully you are using your .WS email address to email people.  If not, you might want to switch.  And here's why.  We all are familiar with certain email extensions.  YOURNAME@gmail or YOURNAME@yahoo and on and on.  What people are not familiar with is your domain extension.  For instance, YOURNAME @ YOURDOMAIN.ws.

Most people are curious by nature, and some people when they see your .WS email address and see the extension will get curious.  For instance, let's imagine that your email is Sally @ Salliesworld.ws.  Many people will wonder..."What the heck is Salliesworld?"  And they will go there.  Boom!  They are on your website and you might have a link that says "Click here to create your own website for free!"  or something like that.  It might even lead directly to a GDI replicated site.

So, drum up some curiosity!  Use your .WS email for all of your communications.  It's an easy (and sneaky) way to create new members.

Hope this helps!

Hi Demetrius,

First off, welcome to GDI!

And you just asked for a TALL order there, my friend!  Here are some things to help you get started...

First, be sure to read all of the marketing help GDI offers.  You can find some tips and a wealth guide in your GDI back office on the home page.  This will help get you started and give you some great ideas.

Be sure to attend each GDI Webinar.  At the end of each webinar one of the members from the GDI Affiliate Council will offer tips, advice, training and even answer questions that you might have.  They are great (but watch out for Tim's singing!)  You can find a link to sign up for the webinars in your back office and if you want to watch past webinars you can head over to http://www.gdiwebinars.ws

Browse around these forums too!  Many questions have been asked and answered, and there are a lot of posts with great tips on marketing and team building.  The forum is full of people willing to help and give advice.  (And share what you learn too!  We all are not part of the same downline, but we are all still a team.  After all, in the words of my good friend Joe Florendo, "United we stand a chance online!")

Also, contact your upline.  Write each of them an email and let them know that you need help.  After all, they led you here, find out how.  And speaking of that, how did YOU find GDI?  That might give you a clue to how you need to promote it.

Now, there are TONS of ways to market online.  Way too many to list here.  You have the GDI inviter, classified ads, videos, blogs, forums and other people's blogs, articles, offline things like business cards and flyers, safelists and list builders, pay per click, social media, SEO ...wow, I told you there were a ton.  And these were just a few.

My advice would be to pick one or two methods you might want to use, and then master those methods.  Stick to them and don't do anything else until you find success.  And when I say stick to them, I mean do them every single day.  Only through focus and massive action do you truly stand a chance at gaining the success that you want and need.

One final thing and I'll leave you to it.  There is a feature in your downline menu where you can move people that sign up under you into your members downlines.  This is a great way to keep up their enthusiasm, keep them on your team and motivate them to take action themselves.  You still get paid for those people, but now your downline members do too.  And I think you'll agree that making money, even if it's just a little, is a big motivating force.

Keep in touch on these forums.  Let us know what you discover and comment on what other people have to say.

Here's To YOUR Success,

Vincent Parker

Hi Jim,

I do not -believe- this is possible.  Only one option can be selected for your website at any given time.  So, if you switch to the Site Builder it will display what you have published so far.

My only advice in this situation would be to create your first page with a message like "We are currently in the process of re-building this site to improve your experience.  Until the changes are finalized, please visit our old site at [A Link To Your Replicated Site]."

Perhaps someone else has more experience with this.  And if you find a way to accomplish what you want, please let us know!

Best wishes,

Vincent Parker

Hello again, P_Gringel.  By the way, I love those images you include at the bottom of each post.  Smiley

Well, this is what I think.  It really depends on the website and what YOU want them to do.  If there is a definite action you want them to take then it would be better not to give them any other choice.

But, if you don't have a specific action you want them to take then having multiple things on the page is fine.  I'll use one of my blogs as an example.  On most of my pages there is a sidebar that says "Other network marketing resources".  I only list 5 resources but each of those get visitors regularly.  Which is what I want.

But then there are other pages where I definitely want them to take a specific action.  For instance, I want them to opt into my list or something.  In that case, that is the ONLY option I give.  And I even make it extremely obvious what it is I want them to do.  For instance, I might have a big red arrow pointing to the form where I want them to put their information.

So, it really depends on what YOU want them to do on that given page.  If you definitely want them to go to one specific place, don't give them any other choice.  But if you don't have a definite action you want them to take on that page, giving a person options is fine.

There's my opinion, hope it helps!  Smiley

Hi P_Gringel!  Hehe, no offense taken at all!

No no, I definitely do not use all of those marketing methods.  And I definitely would not recommend trying.  Because, the more marketing methods you try to do each day, the less you will be able to accomplish in each.

What I suggest is picking one and MAYBE two marketing methods that you would want to do.  And then FOCUS on that one or if you feel you have time two.  But going any further than that you risk diluting what you are doing.

Now, once you master a technique it might only take you an hour or so to accomplish.  So, in time you can add more.  But the trick is to master a marketing method by doing it consistently every day (and also getting some training if need be).

So, let's say a team member of yours wants to do classified ads.  Great!  They work quite well and I know several people who have built very nice incomes using only this one method.  But here is what I would suggest they do.  Stick to classifieds for at least a few months and do nothing else.

And I know, that's hard to do because everyone wants results NOW.  But, results take time.  And it's very hard to get any kind of results without that focused daily action.

I hope this made more sense.  Smiley

Hi Cory,

First off, welcome to GDI!  It's great to have you as part of the GDI team.  Smiley

I'm not 100% positive at what you are asking so I'll just shoot in the dark and hope I don't hit anyone important.  Shocked

The best pieces of advice I could give are this.  First, figure out how you want to market.  There are lots of ways and honestly, virtually all marketing methods work well.  Video marketing is really hot right now because videos are a big market.  And people these days would much rather watch you than read about you.  Plus, it helps establish you as a person and that's important because when all is said and done, people join people, not businesses.  That's why when you get a missed sign up or a new visitor to your page GDI writes you and says that you must contact them right away.

Many people use only classified ads, or SEO, or paid for marketing.  There are a bunch of ways.  But they key is to think about what you will enjoy doing.  Do you like to write?  Blogs, SEO, articles or emails might be good for you.

Next, get as much training as you can in that method.  Training is a constant thing and I bet if you called anyone on the GDI affiliate council they would tell you that they STILL spend time learning and growing.  It increases your value and your effectiveness.

But here is the ultimate tip as far as I'm concerned.  Pick what you want to do and write yourself a schedule saying this is what I will accomplish on any given day.  And then stick to it.  Do it every day and do it in a big way.

Let's stick to videos for an example.  If video marketing is the way you want to go, make one video every day and get it out there using something like Tube Mogul or Traffic Geyser.  But stay focused.  Don't make the mistake of doing it for just a couple of weeks and then moving to something else because it's not giving you results.

Results take time, consistent action and FOCUS.  When you reach your goal with videos (again, just an example here) then you can add another marketing technique.  But only after you have mastered it and spent at least a couple of months doing it every day.

Probably not exactly what you were looking for.  Personally, I get this question a lot.  "What works the best?"  Well...that's really hard to answer because what works best for one person doesn't match what works best with another.  But the thing that definitely without doubt is the secret is daily consistent action and focus.  Without that focus and daily consistent action you do very little in a lot of things and will see nothing in return.

I really hope this helped.  If you have more questions let us know!  We are here to help.  Smiley

114  .WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: Newbie, definitely lost... on: June 04, 2010, 04:40:43 PM
Hi Jim,

First and foremost, welcome to GDI!

Don't be discouraged.  Yes, you have some things to learn.  But that is an ongoing process and I challenge anyone, even those of us that have been developing our business for years, to say that they do not learn something new on a constant basis.

There IS a learning curve, there is no doubt of that.  But, isn't it so with anything you want to do?

You absolutely DO NOT need another hosting company to host your website.  GDI has it all for you already.  If you want to have a replicated website show through your personal domain and not the http://website.ws/YOURGDIUSERNAME affiliate link it's very easy to do.

Go back to your GDI back office and click on "Domains".  Now, under the domain you want this to happen click on "Change DNS".  The link is on the same line as your domain name.  On the next screen you will choose "Domain Forwarding" because what you are wanting to do is display another site on your domain (the GDI replicated website being displayed when someone goes to your website).

Click continue and on the next screen there will be a box on the same line as your domain name.  This is where you are going to paste the URL (the address) of the replicated website of your choice.  You can choose to mask this domain as well here.  Masking basically makes it so your domain name is displayed even though they are on another website.  If you choose to mask, please be sure to read about masking right on that screen.  There are some positives and possible negatives to doing this.

I bet your next question is...how do I find the URL of the replicated site to put in this box?  Didn't know I was psychic, did ya.   Wink

That is easy to find.  Look at the links on the left of your screen and choose "My Replicated Sites".  Once here find the page that you want displayed.  Now, click the LINK for the page you want displayed.  The link is under the column that says "Page (click to view)".  It will open up in a new window.

Now, copy the URL that you see in your browser's address bar.  For instance, if you choose "GDI Video 1 Autoplay" the window that pops up will have an address that looks like this => http://website.ws/kvmlm2/index.dhtml?sponsor=YOURGDIUSERNAME&template=11

Note: If you want to use the link I just provided (no opinion here, this is just the first one my mouse found) please replace YOURGDIUSERNAME with your actual GDI username.

If you have the link but are now once again lost as to where you need to paste this URL just go back to the top of this post and read it again.  I tend to babble...    Embarrassed

And that's all there is to it!  Please note that it CAN take some time for it to change and display what you wish.  If it is not displaying like you want it immediately after you change it just check again in a few hours.  I would even say it can take up to 24 hours for the change to take effect, but for me the change has always been extremely fast and almost instant.

If it STILL has not changed contact me and I would be happy to walk you through it more one on one.

Now that you have the website displaying correctly let's move onto your other comment about having people find you by searching for certain keywords.  This is going to take some training on your part.  Don't worry, it is entirely possible and once you learn how, actually quite simple.

We won't delve into that here.  That would be a long post as there are several things to consider.  However, don't let your lack of knowledge stop you.  Because you have an upline, and I bet if you called them with a question from a friend they would be happy to answer or even get on a three way call with you to answer your friend directly.

Keep this in mind, though.  You are not in the minority with not knowing how to market.  The same as I am not in the minority when it comes to being a brain surgeon.  Knowing that, understand that anything you learn (even what you just learned) puts you ahead of quite a few of the people out there.  Simply by being able to answer this one question you will be viewed as an "expert".

So, if you make it a habit to learn something new about marketing or websites every day, then every day you will be increasing your value and worth to other people.  The more value and worth you have, the more people will want to follow you.  The more "attractive" you will be.  That's the fun thing about "Attraction Marketing" and that is exactly what you will be doing by making a goal to train yourself every day.

I agree with you.  GDI is a truly great opportunity because of GDI's honesty and their product.  In the May 28th GDI Webinar I think it was Bart that said (forgive me if it was Tim or Tissa, I'm getting old) "We do not make money off of individuals.  We make money off of revenue generated.  We help people to make money.  That’s what we do."  The money we make from GDI is from a real product and a real service.  We do not make money from people.  We make money from the revenue generated when people use our products and services.

Jim, I wish you all the luck in the world.  Many people allow themselves to get discouraged very early on and as a result quit.  And I can promise you that the only way you can guarantee failure is to quit.  Period.

But if you increase your worth, if you increase your knowledge and if you take action on a daily basis.  Well then, you will soon enough learn what "Income For Life" truly means.

Good luck, my friend!

Vincent Parker

P.S. I mentioned the GDI Webinar in this post.  That is a great place to be!  If at all possible try to be on the live webinars each Tuesday as at the end you can ask questions and Bart, Tissa or Tim (or whoever else is on the call at the time) will be more than happy to answer you.  And this gives others a chance to learn from you as well.  Chances are, if you have a question, others will too.

P.S.S. You can watch the previous versions by going to http://www.gdiwebinars.ws .  AND if you want to send one of your prospects or friends to this webinar and have them on your team if they click on the join button, just use http://www.gdiwebinars.ws/YOURGDIUSERNAME .  Pretty nifty, huh?  GDI thinks of everything!   Grin

Hi Henning!  You definitely can.  In your back office click on "Invite" and on the next screen you will find instructions on how to do so.

Keep in mind that as a basic user you can only send out 100 invitations each day and as a premium user you can send out 1000.  This is just GDI's way of trying to curb spam.

Hope this helps!

Hey Kerry!  First and foremost welcome to GDI!  It's great to see you here!

Masking is very easy.  In your GDI back office click on "Domains" and then on the same line as the domain you want to change you will find a link that says "Change DNS".  Click that and on the next page choose "I want to use Automatic Forwarding Service for my domain".  From there the next page is where you can enter in where you want your website to forward to (like one of the replicated sites) and right beside that field is an empty check box called "Mask".  Just click that and you are all set!  It might take a few hours for the changes to take effect.  I'm not sure, so it might be instant.  But if not don't worry, just wait for awhile and it will resolve eventually.

Hope this all helps.  Keep up that excitement, Kerry!  I look forward to seeing you ROCK GDI!

117  .WS/GDI Discussion / New Member? / Re: Sawasdee ka My name is Tu from Thailand. on: May 31, 2010, 06:11:07 AM
Sawasdee ka, Tu!  And welcome to Global Domains International!

There are many ways to introduce people to GDI.  BUT, before we get into that the first thing to do is become aware of some training that GDI offers.

First off, if at all possible try and make it to the GDI webinars.  In your time zone I believe they are held every Wednesday morning from 8am until around 9am.  To find out for sure, go to your home page and look for the Webinar box.

Also, the forums are a great place to get training and answers as well.  We might not be in the same downline but we are all still part of a team.  Smiley

You might also want to take a look at the GDI wealth guide.  You can find it at https://www.website.ws/home/wealthguide .  Currently the page is returning an error but I just wrote support about that and hopefully very soon it will be fixed.

There are also plenty of resources outside of GDI that you can go to for help and training.  Find people that are known to have had a lot of success with marketing and look into them.  Look them up on Google, see if you can find any books they have written and etc.

Also, keep in mind that the best thing you can do (besides getting training) is to take action every single day.  Use the invite section in your back office to invite people you know.  You can write classified ads (these work well IF you do it right), you can become active in forums and get to know people and THEN invite them to take a look at GDI.  You can start a blog or work on your own website to get at the top of search engines.  You can do PPC on search engines or other sites like Facebook.  You can write articles (again, these work IF you do it right) or your own e-books or make videos or use banners or....  There are so many different ways.

Find some methods you will do and do everyday.  Get training on those methods and then every day do them.  For instance, learn to write classified ads by studying copywriting (there are also many great books on just writing ads).  And then, sign up for 20 or more classified ad sites and every day post a brand new ad (not the same one over and over).  At first you won't get much, but the more ads you have out there and the better you get at copywriting the more people will visit your website.  The BIG trick is simply daily consistent action.

I hope this all made sense to you and wasn't too vague.  If you have specific questions come back and one of us will answer as best as we can.  Just remember, massive action = massive results.  So, take action every day and be patient.  If you take action every day one day you will look at your email and be AMAZED by how many prospects are coming through your website.

Good luck, my friend!

Hey David,

I'm definitely not a techie when it comes to some of this.  So, my best piece of advice would be to contact GDI support about this.

As far as switching the DNS you can, in your GDI back office, click on the "Domains" tab and listed with your domain will be a link that says "Change DNS".

I have no clue about the registrar but would love to hear the solution/answer.  Please, when you learn of it let us know what you find out so if one of our prospects or team members asks this question, we can answer it.

Thank you very much and good luck, David!

Hi Kevin!

You've definitely peeked my interest!  So far I do not see a new replicated site that focuses on the product.  I took a peak on Twitter and dug around as much as I could in other places and haven't run across it yet.  (The GDI Twitter feed is at http://twitter.com/gdicorporate )

One page that I use that focuses almost entirely on the product side is http://website.ws/kvmlm2/stn_index.dhtml?sponsor=YOURGDIUSERNAME&template=07&page=stn_textf_product

Just be sure to replace "YOURGDIUSERNAME" with your own GDI username.  Smiley

If this is not the page let me know and we can keep on digging.  Or if you find it let us all know, please.  Smiley

Thanks for the question and the possible heads up!

Hi Pete!  First off, welcome.  Smiley

Yes, you absolutely can have them shipped to the United Kingdom.

From your GDI back office click on "Order Goodies", then click on the DVD banner, click "Order DVD Now", choose the package you want and on the next screen is where you can specify where you would like them shipped to.

Hope this helps!
