Title: Use The Invite System
Post by: mack88 on November 09, 2006, 04:57:42 PM
I read lots of posts and people generally ask the same question over and over again.  How do I get started?  It is very simple.  Go back and listen to the 7-minute movie.  Listen very closely.

It say's place the name and email address of people that you know into the invite system.  What happens from that point is the person that you know will receive an email asking them to visit your website.  Once they view the movie, you will receive an email stating that the movie has been viewed.  You then, follow-up and if they have not already done so, ask them to try GDI FREE for 7 days.  That's it.  The movie does 95% of the work...all you have to do is follow up.

Are these invitations only for friends or they could also be from leads? I don't have so many friends to send invitations.

To me it seems a little odd to automatically start spreading the word of GDI to my friends and family from the very start. I currently have 0 in my downline, so I know my opinion doesn't mean a whole lot. Thats exactly the reason I won't recommend GDI to people i actually know yet... if they ask me how its working out so far what am I supposed to tell them? "Ummm... to be perfectly honest I spent $10 and haven't made anything yet... please join me!"

It just seems to me like I should make at least a little bit of money before I go around telling my friends and coworkers that I have a wonderful business opportunity for them.

You have a good point, but also consider this: If you tell your friends and family about it, all you would have to say is come check this movie out! Get them to the computer and have them watch the movie. If they ask how it is working out...just be honest...I just signed up, you should to! If they give ya a fit...just tell em to get back with ya in a month or two to see how it is working out...simple.

Most people are looking for an opportunity or a financial solution. Ask them to view the movie and get back to you on what they thought of it. In other words, ask them for their honest, professional opinion of your new venture. Let the movie do the work! Simple.

In my opinion GDI is excellent. The problem is that we have to learn how to advertise it to get more prospects. The best thing is that I have my web page and I am proud of it. I invite my friends and family and many of them are already working with me but making no money yet. It takes time but once you get organized and start sending invitations or trying different ways of advertising it I think it is good. Everything takes time. You can't become rich in two weeks. Invite people and you will succeed.

Sure, Joseph...

Just put your own email address into the invite system and it will come to you.

I think we have the tendency to over-complicate things.    :)

Sometimes 'simple' is best...  Simple things done over and over again.... produce results!

The Invite System is a great tool, GDI has provided us with.   Just put in the names of your friends, or
someone you exchange emails with and the Invite System works for you...

I'm been a member of GDI for 2 and a half years and still use the 'Invite System'

Happy New Year,

John Pratt

Hi all

Is this invite system used on a door to door basis by either putting a flyer through the letter box and following it up with a DVD that has been requested?

I'm new too, but I think that maybe 1 out of 10 emails actually make it to the inbox of anyone you are inviting with the invite system.  It seems most email services automatically block all GDI emails or put them in a junk folder of the client.  I have tested this for myself with several different email accounts and found this to be true.   I would think a personal email with your GDI link would be a much better way to invite people.

Helllo to all,

May I take the time to wish everybody a happy new year
and the best of wealth to all.

My question is when people reply to the invite and watch the movie
GDI notifies you and you do the follow up. How much time is allowed
before you send another letter if they didn,t respond to the first welcome
letter. :-\

Or you could send the invite, and then a few days later, send a personal email referring to it, "and in case you missed it, here's the link again"

I'm just not sure I could write such good sales copy myself.

I sent one of the invites to another email account of mine before sending it out to others. I kind of thought is was a little missleading. It says that this company is giving away money.

Hi Frances & Happy New Year too! Leads are very easy to get, but the challenge is
how you could convert those leads into downlines? I've known it from the start and
I just keep on trying.  Truly, there's a lot of work but remember that "chance favors those who persists".

Hope this helps.

My fear with the invite system is the few people who cry spam spam spam for everything in the world.

So if we invite someone, not spamming them, but they cry spam, how do we protect ourselves from having our site and emails from beind terminated?

I was just wondering what ppl are saying in their emails that they send to leads? I just got some leads and I want to send an email to the names on the list. I am at a loss of what to put in an invite email. :-[ I don't want to use the one that GDI sends out because it says that this company is giving away money.

Hi ALexW,

You can use the letter that your sponsor sent you. That would be a pretty good reference since you joined him/her.
It is also advisable to add your personal touch as your leads will sense that it's a "canned" invitation especially if it's been widely circulated.

I also believe that in order to gain the trust of your leads you may want to send them a series of letters (up to 5 at least), giving them valuable information.
This will show your commitment in helping them make this biz a success.
I have some samples of good sales letter, they are not particuarly for GDI, but you can modify them for your purpose.
Please send me a private message if you are interested.

(1) At which point does the autoresponder send emails?

(2) At which point should i contact the people, I have some now that show as having veiwed

(3) Are there any pre-written emails for first contact...etc

(4) I am a tad dissapointed as I have been at this for about a week and haven't had anyone sign
up yet

(5) What percentage of a lead that cost me $3 each is going to sign up? I could go broke fast being a poor beggar

Thank you in advance for your support......Morgan

The invite progarm will send an email to invite your prospects to view the presentation.
If they view, you will be notified, if not then just send an email asking them if they had the chance to read your email.

Brian, have you given your leads a phone call? I am new myself and I bought a package of the leads also. I haven't received them yet because I just made the purchase, but GDI clearly explains that you need to give these leads a call to get a good response. I'm going to be calling every single one of those leads when I receive them. You can't depend on email with all the spam filters filtering out the emails.

I'm new to GDI but I'm not new at marketing. Using the phone and email both is the way to go to increase your conversion ratio. I want to make sure that I make the best out of those $300 dollars that I am spending and I will not limit myself to depend on email alone.

Hello,

Pamela here.  I have also tried sending myself the GDI invite to a couple alternate addys.  One I got, the other no.  What I have been trying is that when I get a lead asking for the info I send my own email explaining and inviting to GDI.  (used email examples found through this forum)   ;)  I follow up with another email about a week later.  I have been doing this for the last 2 weeks (only been in GDI 3-4 weeks).  I then have just put the invites through the GDI invite system to see if maybe that works better now.  I also took the advice of someone in this forum and changed the Subject from "giving away money" message to something different.  I also think that the original one is a bit misleading and people just might not open it.  I wish I would have known about changing it on my FIRST 90 invites!  :( I will just have to wait and see if I get any better responce, I guess.  At least it is alot easier to keep track of those sent info to!

I have also put together a few pages of info, a business card, and a nice "cover page" for postal mailing to those that I have addresses for.  I thought that maybe that would help, too.  I just wish I had a brochure type thing that I could include along with it.  Make it look a bit more proffesional, I think.  But I don't know how to do that at a minimal-no cost stage right now (like doing it myself!).  My budget is VERY controlled at this time, so making long distance phone calls is, at this time, out of the question for me.  But I have some numbers if that changes in the near future.

I am hoping that something starts working soon as I am getting a few more "discouraged days" lately.  But I am not giving up yet!  At $10 a month, making my own biz cards, cost of some copy paper, I think I can hang in there for about a year and see if I can get this going.  I really do think it is a great company and a great opportunity!

Pamela

That’s a very good motto that you have Pamela. I think I’ll change the subject line too as it is rather misleading.  For people who have gotten lead to respond  one kind of questions have you been asked.

Hi everyone:

Just wanted to respond to those who think the email subject line in the GDI mailer is a little misleading.  I totally agree.  I haven't had much success using the default subject about "this internet company is giving money away..."

I got these from a marketing guru.  They are the top 25 most successfull email subject lines.  Look through them and see which ones attract you.  Some of them need a little altering to fit the GDI theme.  I've tried several of them and have received a much better response than the GDI one.

Hello all...
I am a newbie with GDI. And I have a couple of questions    :)

1) There is a local online paper with classifieds ad here. Would it be ok (meaning not spam) if I place
an ad talking about GDI and request anyone interested to e-mail me their name, then I in turn use the invite program to send out the info??
2) Can I change the subject line of the invite to read...."here is the info you requested" ??

 Thanks, jim

Hi jim,

(1) is perfectly fine since they willingly give you their emails so it's not spam. Just be careful to stop emailing them once they ask you to stop and you must never send repeated emailing of the same messages. Since it's a local paper, why not send them the dvd? or ask for their phone numbers for a quick chat?
(2)absolutely, just use your creativity in the email subject.

I noticed several messages talking about changing the GDI's default Subject wording, that is referring to company "giving money away". I agree with you, it is a misleading subject line, although in all honesty, it did make me open my email and sign-up for 7-day trial. Still after viewing the movie, I reflected on this line and wondered, where is this "giving away" part?
But my question is, how do I change this Subject in the Invite system?

:D Though using the invite is GOOD, please be careful NOT to invite many people who are not network marketers. They don't know what GDI is. They don't understand what you are promoting. And this may lead to a "rejection" rather than a signup.

"Nobody who bought a drill actually wanted a drill.

They wanted a hole.

Therefore, if you want to sell drills, you should advertise information about making holes – NOT information
about drills!" - Perry Marshall

Here is what it means. Peole dont really care abt opportunities.  What they do care about, is finding a solution to their problem. Whether that be a lack of money, or time with their family, etc... and Your job, is to position your opportunity as the solution to that problem...

Other thing you need to understand is you got to define your target market, people who are already in the industry, believe in it, and who get out there and practice network marketing.
Other type of people you should target is product users, those who need a website. These people are your TRUE target market.

Just remember the difference between people who simply inquire about your offer, and those who are already spending money on something similar.

Hello GDI Friends,

I love the 7 minute movie! I am watching it myself like 6 times a day - it makes me smile on how beautifuly it's done. I believe it will sort out all the people who are serious from the curious.

Personaly I think we just need to expose that flash presentation to large amount of people.

3) an email if someone opened the invitation and didn't view the video.

I want to know how much follow up it really does.

thanks every one at GDI - I'm one week new and very excited !

All my friends and family said that "yeah in a few months let me know hows it going", or "You'll have wasted $30 in 3 months, than Ill be right" or something like that.  I plan to follow up in 3 months and show them they are wrong.  ALSO, I am not doing any marketing or advertising yet, until I have a solid plan for my downline.  No point in getting 20 people to sign up if you cant show them how to do it, they will just leave in a month or two if you cant tutor them.

Dear Co-GDI Members,

Policy is the "Invite" system is only to be used for people that you actually know, have talked to, called, received permission and interst from them, etc., and not for purchased leads or mass lead lists. It souinds like some are using it for email leads, unless I am misunderstanding? Correct?

There are great questions that come in the Forum, the thread keeps going and going, but the question never gets answered? Sometimes I feel like this great big secret is being held back from me I average one person a month since April, but nothing more from July on.

I also have come to realize I need to learn more and more, for us relatively new members the learning curve is steep and if your not careful expensive. This Forum has been priceless to me, and I love the interaction and feeback. I was going to sign up for one of the training's posted, but once I realized it was going to cost me, I decided to send an email for further information.

My motto continues to be traffic, traffic, traffic, but I'm still not succeeding yet.

Kudo's to everyone in our GDI worldwide family.

Respectfully Yours,
Dale

the invite system is as you say , "supposedly" just for those you know , in reality if you have all the details of someone who is looking for a home biz opportunity then that is valid - by details I means - first and last name , email , home address , phone number , ip address.

I believe thats how most people are using the system , if it was not allowed then GDI would be canceling memberships all over the place and you would come across posting on the net to that affect.

GDI has set up it wonderful autoresponder series , I think its for 7 days - what a waste if people couldn't use genuine bought leads from the top lead providers !

Been a member for 10 days and have 12 in my down-line, and I don't use the 'invite' system.  The 'canned' wording in the email, by its very nature is impersonal. And if these emails are to be sent only to friends/relatives and people you've already spoken to, why in the h*ll would you send a robotic impersonal email to them.

I understand GDI's logic. The invites would be for people who aren't comfortable writing a coherent sentence or two. Or who might write way too much info and turn off a prospect.  But for those who can connect a few short sentences together without spilling the beans, it makes more sense to use a regular email program. You can Bcc  the invites...at least the bulk emailing can be personalized AND is coming from an email address that has a much better chance of getting through. Of course we won't know who actually opens the email and views the video, but that's all the more reason to send a polite follow-up: "So, Bubba, what did you think of that video? Pretty awesome, huh? Got questions? E me back and let me know what you think."

Anyway, just my unasked for opinion.

Barry

The GDI invite system is for people you aleady know because of the laws of spam.  If you take a look at your own email, you will see how many people are trying to sell you on an idea.  GDI is not trying to selll anything.  However, it is offering an opportunity to people who see it as such.  But GDI follows the rules as you should.  Secondly, I agree that people you know will be more apt to getting involved with a personalized email than the one set forth by GDI.  However, that is the individual's preference.  There is no one set way of doing things as each individual thinks differently.  Hind sight will leave many in the wings.  Follow up is an essential part of your success.  I choose to do this personally and not through an automated system in hopes that the individual feels that their concerns are addressed personally.  And just so that you know Barry, Your opinion does count.

I have used the invite system with leads that were recomended in GDI made easy. I have used them almost every day for about 3 months without any problems and actually got several sign-ups. Last week my site was shut down down for about 24 hours becausce
someone reported that they were spamed. I had all of the information needed to prove that it was nor spam.  I received an email from GDI..they put my site back on line and said that if that happens again, that privelage may not be extended the next time. If the information that they wanted had not been saved, it would cost $199.00 dollars to be renstated.  So my invite system use is over.

Hi, I am a newbie here and dont have many friends to send this invite to. Is there any other way i can promote this thru opt in leads or so. Or is there any formal email i can send using optin leads so that my downline starts working.

Please advice!

That is the reason I prefer to generate my own leads and
keep their details including IP address and time stamp
when they actually opted in to my autoresponder.

Even when you buy leads from a reliable source,
always ask them if they want to receive more
info about home based business or better yet,
add them to autoresponder which has a double
opt in feature to secure yourself from spam complaints.

Frank

Once again, I've read several posts in regards to people wanting to put leads into the GDI Invite System or stating that they were reported for SPAM after putting leads into the system and had their account terminated.  That will happen if you place leads into the system.

It is important for everyone to understand what the invite system is designed and used for.  Only the people that you know or come in contact with can be placed in the system.  Not optin or double optins or even leads you purchased or even leads you generate.  Guess what?  if you decide to place leads into your sysem and are reported for SPAM, then your account will be terminated.  However, if someone that you know is placed into the system, it's a whole differenct story.

My point is, PLEASE DO NOT place leads into your GDI Invite System if you want to keep your account.  I cannot stress it enough.

Hi,

I can't believe I have joined for almost half a year and I am finally seeing my downline start to grow slowly. I had no signups using the invites to my friends and family of 50 people or so, and some of them were annoyed by it. I wonder if other people had the same reaction. All I can say is that I wouldn't count on it to generate signups.

Frank, your advice seems logical and I'm sure a person can get a few friends to join.
However, I personally believe that a good email list of proven opportunity seekers is very important to building up this business.  Therefore, I would like to know the very best sources for buying opportunity seeker emails that will produce results.

Reading through these posts concerning soliciting new members I was reminded of a quotaion I learned while doing telephone marketing:

Some will,
Some won't
So what...
Someone else is waiting.

In other words, keep going after the rejections, success could be one person away.

Hope that helps some people.

None of my invites are getting opened.  I'm afraid that there's something in the Subject line that is getting flagged by Spam filters and either the invites are not being forwarded or dumped in recipients "junk mail". :-[

I use t o get quite a number of replies of potential viewers who interested to know more about the system, but because lack of knowledge and support I didn't continue to proceed until now, when I found out that you gain so much from GDI..So I'm back again.

Hi Fadly,
I heard a story today in my training with my group which was a short story of a woman who had signed up 15 people. 4 people dropped and the woman became depressed and quit. 1 yr later, this year to be exact, had she stayed w/GDI her downline had grown tremendously into 6,000! Morale of story "When we get discouraged (and we all do) don't quit!" Take a break for a little while if need be, like you did, then get at building the dream you started. Never give up on your dreams!

In fact in my training group we are reminded of how many times Edison failed before the successful lightbulb was built. Hundreds of faiilures, but he kept going. If you research it there are many examples throughout history and even recent ones.

Also, it is unfortunate that some uplines are not as helpful as others but I want to let you know there are those who take to heart the GDI motto "If you help others get what they want then you can get what you want".  I have a wonderful team who is doing just that and I am on my way.

Have an awesome week, year, and life! Aprile

Remekül működik. A névjegykártya alkalmazása szintén sikeres üzletember imidzsét adja.
Szerintem minden jövendőbeli ügyfeleteknek adjatok egy dvdt és egy nézjegyet tűzzetek mellé. Nagyon megéri!

I'm using adwords, but no luck yet. The way I see it, if you pay adwords 50 dollars, and you gain 4-5 prospects, thats a 100 dollar gain. Anyway, the problem I have is converting prospects into a downline. I show the movie, but people dismiss it pretty fast. Anyone have any suggestions?

LOL  :D

I love it Murtaza.  Big mistake to sell a solution without first revealing the issue.

I also agree it's nice to sell to those that already working such a plan, but MUCH more difficult to "get your foot in the door".

Thanks!

Hi I am new and feeling my way through this.

The invite system looks good, but if I wanted to do my own thing do I just need to provide my URL i.e. website.ws/username?

I assume this is what is put on to flyers, personal emails etc.?

Has anyone used the likes of facebook/linked in to provide their URL? Is this within the rules?

Cheers

Hi David

That wont be a problem and it´s better that you don´t know someone, by this i mean that if you promote to people that you now probably wont get in, why? "Nobody is a prophet in his land" so the thing here is to know how to get leads and direct them to your web page or add them to the invite system.

While this is good advice and absolutely what you should do to start making money IMMEDIATELY with GDI, there is a small part left out. I would highly suggest that you make the list of the people that you are going to send the invite to. I would then call them or talk to them at work and let them know that I just started a new home business. When they ask me what it is, I would ask if I could send them information by email (this way they are expecting AND aware of it, this takes out the risk factor of possibly SPAM-ing them). When they agree, inform them to keep a look out in their inbox and thank them. Also tell them that if they don't see it right away, to check their SPAM folder (this is due to different SPAM filter settings on different email providers). By GDI's awesome automated system, you will get a confirmation letting you know when they watched it so you can contact them about it!

I facebooked my daughter on the chat and was talking to her about it and she called me immediately thinking that someone had hijacked my account. She was not interested in it. I gathered she thought it was a scam deal even when I told her about the great support, the website, etc. After this happened, I got to thinking about it. I believe it would be better to call people or send a personal e-mail instead of using a generator. That way they know it's you and not someone pretending to be you. Also, many of the people I know have jobs and unless I could prove to them it works by having money coming in they won't go for this.

I need to contact people who are looking for opportunities like this who also know people who are looking for people that want this type of business to start it up.

Any ideas?

I am MartyG and have just paid the first $11.00 and have zero hits so far. I use the free ads system all over the place and put out 3-5000 ads per week and up to this point I still get nowhere. I also go to craigslist and other " looking for work " sites but still no go.
How long does it usually take to get people interested? I tried another system where I advertised affiliate sites and wound up more that $2000.00 in the hole so I don't have .2 cents to get special advertising done. This is my last attempt at making anything via the internet.
I will give it another month but after that I think I may just delete my multi ad machine and be content with the little I have rather than continue to make payments from  a dis-ability pension that is an existence rather than a living.
I take any advice I can but I get lost in a hurry with so much information at this site.( info OVERLOAD!) I guess I should have started trying to use my computer as a source for a living long ago.
Cheers everyone. Have a great day.

I also have a similar situation like yours. While it's ok for some people to use "the invite system" to spread the word of GDI to friends, this method is so limited to only people you know. I found myself not having as many friends as need to make a sale.

I have, as another option, used my blog and website to market the product. I use article marketing to drive traffic to my website and blog. However, I have not registered any downline since I joined, it's now two month. I do not know what others say. What's the situation with you?

No.

An account with a 'Trial' status represents a user who is currently in the 7 day trial period, which means they have not paid a penny to GDI. And for that reason, you (as an affiliate) are not entitled to receive any kind of commission.

However, if the user purchases some extra goods, or another domain while on the trial period, they will still have to complete payment immediately (only for the extra products/services purchased), as the trial period only allows users to try ONE domain with Domain Privacy for 7 days, nothing else. So you will be entitled for a commission if the user makes more purchases while in the trial period.

Good Afternoon

New GDI Members will receive a 7 day free trial period for all domains as well as Premium Service and Domain Privacy selected at the time of registration. GDI members will be charged immediately for any domains or domain services added to the account after the initial registration process.

The only products that qualify for commissions earned are domains and domain services. Marketing materials under the "Order Goodies" section do not qualify for commissions.

Apologies for the false information.

When I first joined (years ago), I could only register one Domain with Domain Privacy as part of my free trial. Anything else, I'd have to pay for upfront.

Things must of changed from back then.

Again, sorry for any inconvenience I caused.

Getting traffic (targeted is the best) is the beginning challenge. Converting people into members is the second. Showing your downline how to market is the third step to success with GDI. I use the wordpress plug-in to introduce all three.

If you get leads to use either from GDI or other sources you can add them into the invite system and check your stats in the members area If you're a premium member you can load leads automatically. If you buy leads from GDI they'll load them for you. I think getting leads if you can and using them to promote GDI is one of the easiest ways to build your biz online. You can call them or just send an invite to see if potential clients are interested. Check out my Tunes Net blog for some free leads sources http://tunesnet.ws (http://tunesnet.ws)

What if you only now 1 to 2 people? I live in a small town. I also relize that you are going to have to drop some money on this to get good advertising on the net. i thought this program was for free. i feel mislead.

I want to know how your method is working for you? You have been with us for sometime now and I wanted you to share your story.

Thanks for being transparent and I do look forward in hearing from you soon. Your experience will help allot of new GDI family members. I do appreciate all you can share.

Hi David

That wont be a problem and it´s better that you don´t know someone, by this i mean that if you promote to people that you now probably wont get in, why? "Nobody is a prophet in his land" so the thing here is to know how to get leads and direct them to your web page or add them to the invite system.

I agree. Today a friend, after wach movie, ask me: "So bro, it's a good opportunity? How many money you maked?" My answer was: "It's a very good opportunity and little by little you will build your Income, but honestly, nope I not make money yet"...   :-[
