Title: Questions about GDI
Post by: Farrington D on June 25, 2006, 09:33:07 PM
Hi

I would like to ask a few questions before I decide to move forward or not  .

How good is this programme overall ?

How reliable is it ?

Is it likely to last 20+ years ?

How honest has it been so far ?

In what format do you get paid ? (check , or is it credited to your credit card or another way)

Thank you  Dianne &  Craig

Dianne &  Craig,
Hi! My name is John and I've been an affiliate for quite awhile and I would like to try to answer your questions. I'm sure a lot others will be adding in their comments too.

First, the program is great! If you give it time you can build a good foundation on which to build a really good business. The company is fantastic. The forum is the best.......you can say what you want as long as you don't get out of line. The members area is state of the art. Once you get use to it you'll be amazed at how it keeps your records. There is a lot to learn but it's one of the simplest business to understand.

Reliability: It's like having a job with a good company. How reliable are they? You can expect to get paid when you're suppose to.

Is it likely to last 20+ years ?: This company and it's product are great! I truly believe this company will be around as long as the internet is around. How long do you think that is?

Honesty: I haven't seen any dishonesty. Anything is possible here but it's up to the person how far and big they will take this. It requires work, dedication and persistance. There is no free ride. It's not a get rich quick thing. It will take time to build. Some do it faster than others and others give up. My advice is don't spend any money where you don't have to. There are plenty of ways to promote this opportiunity free. Talk to your sponsor. Ask them for advice. Search the forum thoroughly. You'll find a lot of information.

Payment: Bonuses are paid through Paypal. Commission payments are made through various methods (ie. Paypal, Check and more.) Study your members area. Check out all the tabs on the left and see what they are all about. Check out the FAQs Tab at the top of the members area.

If you are really serious about building a business, I think you may have found just what you are looking for. Think long term.

I've tried several programs online with mixed success/failure.  You will find, just as I have, that for $10.00/monthly, how can you go wrong with GDI?  Even if you simply experiment a couple of months and decide this isn't for you, what have you lost?  A few bucks at most.

I read through these forums for kernals of wisdom:  the Secrets of Making GDI Happen Fast (smile).  There are no great hidden secrets, but if you keep researching, you'll find amazing insights to move you forward with this opportunity.

I try NOT to ever HYPE businesses.  With GDI, the video really does say it all.  Followed up by the well layed out website of information and you have available all the information you should need.

Best of luck to you.

Title: Just starting, and I see no results!!, can any one help me?
Post by: AdrianTrevino on June 30, 2006, 05:56:15 PM
Hi to everyone!

Well, at first I thought that this was going to be easy, but, it is not!. I am from Mexico, and sent the invitation almost to 150 friends!, but seems no one trust the internet homebased buissness or something. I have zero in my downline, I have not sent the documents, I am not certian about recieving comission because I  have no expirience in net marketing, and well, been from outside US, i am not sure of the payment. Any way, can anyone help me here?, Is there a form to accelerate the success here?, Is there an strategy?

Thankyou all!!   (sorry for my english)
Regards
Adrian

Hello all!  I'm a week into this opportunity and my enthusiasm is growing.  With some experience in home based businesses and network marketing I can honestly say this opportunity seems to have all the advantages of network marketing and none of the drawbacks.  The only limitation is your personal belief system.  Now, if anyone can come up with a surefire way to inspire others to:
1) Believe anything is possible, 2) Dream Deeper!, and 3) understand that true and abiding affluence comes from genuine giving to others while letting go of neediness and expectation of a particular outcome... THAT's the person who'll make 6 figures monthly!!
For me this business opportunity is more of an opportunity to offer help and hope to those with unforgotten dreams, true empathy and compassion for others, and a solid work ethic.  All together I consider this a blessing in no disguise!  :)

THAT said, an important question:  Doubtless integrity in all facets of this business is a crucial factor for everyone's success.  ANY Joe Shmoe business selling something on the internet has a SECURE ORDERING SITE!  People are extremely concerned about protection if their personal information, particularly SSN and CC info.  WHY in the world is the signup/payment area NOT SECURE??!!  I need to feel comfortably prepared to answer all questions from prospective affiliates.

To continuous realization of your dreams and worthy goals,
David

Here is a question from one of my new  downlin member:

If I delete my accout before the 7 day free trial, will I be able to join in again in future?
Do I have to wait a few mounts before signing up again?
Can I use the same sponsor?

What do you think about this?

Regards asbjorn

Hi,

of course he will be able to join again, but why does he want to cancel his account?
You can sign up immediately with the same sponsor again...Probably he just
wants to change his domain name?!

Cheers

Title: Domains, Domain Names and Domain Registration
Post by: A Edwards on March 30, 2007, 05:08:26 PM
Hello Everyone,

I have questions.  My first involves domain registrations.  Most registrations last for a specific amount of time 1 year, 2 years, etc. and then you have to renew.  What is the story with .ws domain registrations, is it a one shot deal or will the domain names have to be renewed after a period of time?

I'm only dreaming about building a website now.  However, one thing I think about is visitors to my site having the ability to search for a domain name on my site, i.e., Find a new domain name:  "enter the name you want" .ws search box.  Can I build my site do this?

Hello and welcome to GDI.  I will attempt to answer your questions:

1.  No, you are not selling adspace or a job position.  Once you become a GDI affiliate you are a seller of .ws domain names.

2 & 3.  To grow your business, place the names/email addresses of those you know into the invite system, which is located in your Member's area.  Also, you can send people directly to your 7-minute movie.  Both of those tips do not cost anything at all.

The key to GDI is to keep it simple and invite.

Oh, one more tip.  Invite guests to the Tuesday/Thursday night conference calls.  Here are the details:

GDI Opportunity and Training Calls Every Tuesday and Thursday Evening
Opportunity Call is at 9:00 PM EST/6:00 PM PST
Training Call is at 9:30 PM EST/ 6:30 PM PST
The Number for all calls is  212-990-8000  PIN  8821#

Title: Questions
Post by: RobertJenks on May 06, 2007, 10:07:05 PM
I have had my GDI site for a while and I will admit I have done very little to help myself.   When I signed up I just used my name as a website but have been thinking about canceling this account and coming up with a new name.   For example from robbyjenks.ws to mr.marketing.ws, as an example.  Would you suggest that I do thatand if I do should I incorp that new name.  Plus just to make sure is it ok that I buy leads form a 3rd party.

thank you.

Hi All,

This is my first post...

Is it possible to stop the autoresponder messages that go out to prospects that have visited your website?

I know it is a great way to help people join but I have important reasons for needing to do this.

Thanks in advance,

Use your own optin page to promote instead of the default ferari ticket page.
After that just redirect your visitors to the direct sign up page

change username  to yours

I agree, for me I am trying to sell most people a web site and not a business, I fear if I hook them up with GDI that you guys will poke and prod them to the point where they don't want a web site, I myself got calls from 3 different people after I signed up, all pressing the business opportunity and to be honest, if I wanted a web site and not an MLM I would be a bit irritated about all the calling ect.

Title: I need clarification to help explain to downline
Post by: KingJ on May 21, 2007, 03:10:29 AM

You know when you signup, you get the testimonies site. Is that what I am paying for monthly? I will like to build a family site like  the presentation says. will I be charge extra?

Secondly, I have run out off email addresses because the invitation method is great. Where can find leads? I won't mind paying for if so be it.

Title: How Many Domains Have Been Registered to Date?
Post by: Marc E on May 28, 2007, 05:22:41 AM
I'm trying to find out the total number of .ws domains registered to date. I am only able to find old data [100,000+ members in 2000].
There are over 40,000 forum members, so this is a poor representation of total members .

I've tried Netcraft and Alexa, and I'm all out of ideas.

I imagine that this information should be easy to find if only I knew where to look.
I'm trying to determine the overall market share of .ws and the potential market.
Please Help

How May .ws Domains have currently been registered?

How May .ws Domains have currently been registered?

That's an interesting question  ;), I searched through google and I found this link
http://www.webhosting.info/registrars/reports/total_domains/SAMOANDOMAINS.WS/

You can see the trend of .ws domains being registered, it shows that the total market share for .ws is 0.001%
Hey this means there is still alot of room to grow with .ws -- isn't that exciting?

Title: Should he register as a business owner?
Post by: Anton_L on May 29, 2007, 03:09:21 AM
Hi I'm fairly new to GDI and am enjoying seeing the growth of my business start to take off...

I have a couple of questions regarding a friend/prospect from Denmark.

He is keen to join my organization but is concerned about the taxation laws and operating as a business.

He wants to know if and how much tax he would pay on  a minimum $25  commision check from GDI.

As he would be depositing checks into a Bank account in Denmark he was concerned that the tax department would be scruintinising his new source of income.

He also wanted to know if she should register himself as a business owner, to  keep things above board and not jeopardise his good history with the tax department.

Are these relevent concerns?
Can anybody help me here?

I know America in general looks fvourably upon people starting MLM businsess, I'm not to sure with other countries.

Thank you

Anton

Hi Karine,

Your member in your downline must stay upgraded for you to receive the $1 for their subscription every month..

They donot need to sell a thing they just need to continue to pay their subscription .($10)

The one dollar is paid to you once they have begun(paid) for their GDI monthly subscription

If they don't remain upgraded you don't get paid the $1

as excellent as GDI is at helping us market our Businesses I wouldn't be surprised
God Bless,
Carol

Does GDI offer good support with DVDs  and other promotional aids. I have requested the DVD from them and no one seem to know what I am requesting as they can't ship to New Zealand. I find this unbelievable  ??? When I fill out the order all I get is this message......Our shipping companies are not able to deliver to the specified mailing address. This is normally a result of an incorrect entry or typographical error. Please review the shipping address below and correct any errors, then press the Continue button again.
I suggested someone at their office to put it in a packet and post it. What is the problem here ???. We need a DVD because the internet in some rural areas in NZ is very slow.
If a company is networking it needs to put in place a support system for its members and be in a position to ship to all its members. I appreciate the automatic system it is running and think its great but there are countries where this doesn't work too well. Can any one  help with this????? :o

Hi Levy,

Sorry to hear your frustration.  I am not an expert on the features and really can't offer any advise there.  However, I believe that there are others who can.  One thing I feel the need to comment on and that is why did you join GDI?  Perhaps for one of two reasons.  An identity on the internet and/or business.  Business of any sort takes time to build.  I can testify to that.  Do you think that success comes to those that quit?  Certainly not.  No one can build your business for you.  Perhaps you need to try different methods of approach.  There are tons of ideas in these forums.  Understandably, things can get overwhelming at times.  However, keep your focus.  My final comment is that your enthusiasm or lack thereof can be felt in the way you express your words.  Deliver your message as though you are successful and the results will speak for themself.  Take control of your destiny Levy and I wish you much success in whatever your decision you make.

Well Levy,

I am glad you will stick it out for a while more.  However, the fun part begins and ends with you.  Have you posted a counter onto your site?  Been a while since I visited and can't remember.  I would be interested in knowing what methods you have used in order to promote your site.  Perhaps that way, help could be distributed.  Take care.

Title: Redesigning flyers
Post by: REveillard on July 31, 2007, 03:46:40 AM
Hello GDI Team

I have a question. Can we create new flyers to advertise? The Ferrari is cool and all, but not everyone is attracted to that. And if we can, who do we have to go thru to get approval.
That's it. If someone can help me out with that it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Since we are now going to be offering .com, .biz, etc, along with .ws, are we going to be getting revved up new capture pages? This is just what I have been waiting for! Hey, I've been with GDI for a few years now, and I am enjoying the checks--but this is unbelievably great news!

Oh, and will we be notified through email with new links for us to use?

Thanks.

I have been signed up for a couple of weeks now.  Like a few others here, I was introduced to GDI through a Craigslist ad.  While reading posts I came across a tread regarding “Craigslist” from back in 2005.  At that time, Craigslist was prohibited, is that still the case?  I have been approached with a couple of different ways of advertising and one way was to have ads on Craigslist.  I don't want to do it, if I am going to get into trouble!  Does anyone know of sure?  Thanks :-\

I have been with GDI for about 4 weeks now, I have been contacted by my Upline, I have signed up through powwebs, I have google adsense, I have registered website addresses and have them forwarded to my powweb site.  I have done all the steps necessary and yet I'm at a stand still.  What do I tell people what we offer if they ask.?  I mean seriously when I log into my account there is absolutely nothing there showing me anything I signed up (ie powwebs, gdidomainnames.com, google adsense) there is absolutely nothing.  So can someone tell me how I am supposed to sell something when I don't even know what it is we are selling.  Can someone please help me out?  The FAQ's don't come close to answering any of my questions.  Thanks!!

Title: Re: Questions about GDI
Post by: Tore E on August 10, 2007, 02:16:00 AM
I have a question about the DVD's. I reside in Norway, and for my prospects to be able to hand out DVD's - they need to:

1 - buy DVD's - say 10 pack for US$ 30
2 - have them sent by UPS - at a stunning US$ 140 !!

That's a whopping US$ 17 a piece instead of US$ 3 a piece.

I ordered my 10 pack last year, at that time it was a more reasonable shipping rate of US$30.

I've contacted GDI support, but their answer was only that this was the only shipping option at this time.

Anyone have suggestions to how to cope with this huge expense?
( And don't tell me to buy a 100 pack and resell to my future downlilne - as this is forbidden according to GDI guidelines)

Hey Angela.

Let me speak as someone completely unattached to your business.

Please, do not rely on the internet and Google or any other adword system to build your business.
Yes, they can provide a source of leads, but you're talking about a fickle little thing called the internet.

This business like all other businesses will succeed or fail based on word of mouth. This is an MLM/Network Marketing business no matter what anyone says and these businesses are built through word of mouth. I don't care if that word of mouth is done by email, phone calls, personal conversations over coffee or handing out business cards. The internet CAN generate you leads, but you're going to need an insane amount of exposure to generate good quality people to talk to. I am sure that on a daily basis anyone in this business runs into a lot of very good quality people who can make a go of this business.

Now, as for what you're selling - there are two parts to this. You have the product and you have the business.

The product is fairly simple. It's a website system that allows people to have a complete website package for US$10 per month. Domain name, website, email. And it's set in a way that people don't have to be technically savvy to make it work well for them. The great part of this is that those websites can be used for anything - personal or business.  There are a lot of people out there who want a presence on the internet for one reason or another and thiis gives them a great opportunity to have that.

The business is really an extra built in for the $10 if you look at it. You not only have your website but you have the opportunity to share the same system with people and get paid for doing it. It's that simple and it should really be that fun. When it comes to the business, let the website.ws site do the talking for you.

But first and foremost, be yourself, don't change anything about who you are, but when you're talking to someone make sure you hand out a business card. If you're out having dinner, talk with the server. Put a link in the signature line of every email you send out. Do simple and fun things to build your business. And do something fun with your website.

You've got a story of WHY you joined this business. Use it if someone asks. Don't go into hype. None of the "this is the greatest thing in the world and it's going to be the next big brand name like Nike".  Keep it simple and honest.

Here's my story plain and simple.  I'm seeing that more and more people are starting to want their own identity on the internet. Just look at places like MySpace and others. This gives people a chance to have that without having to be tech gurus and with that I think there's a good opportunity here to make some money.

I know I just went on a bit of a rant here and it was a little disjointed. I speak better than I type, but that's this business plain and simple. And it doesn't matter if it's GDI or any other MLM. It's simple and should be kept simple. And most of all it should be FUN. So get out there and have some fun with this.
Hope this helps.

Hi Brian,
I am not sure what you are trying to get across here.  Are you a member of GDI?  One thing I know and that is I do not have to make calls.  That is totally up to me.  However, the part I don't understand is the follow-up letters.  Who wrote the letters?  Or are you talking about the automated letters that GDI sends to you regarding a lead?  If you could specify more clearly on this, perhaps there is an easy fix.  Personally, I thought it was up to each individual to do their own follow-up.  I have no knowledge that GDI does your follow-up for you.  If you have an autoresponder doing your letters, then you need to make the changes within the system.  If you are talking about the invite system, then correct what information is given in your letter.  However, if you are using the invite system, these should be people you already know.  Again, I am at a loss to understand your dilemma.

Hi

I am relatively new to GDI and have a question

If one or more of your downliners drops out of DGI (or heaven forbid passes away), does this cause a break in your commision on their downliners?

OR

Are there any curcumstances that, through no fault of your own, you loose residual commision if there is a break in a downliner?

Hi

Ok, I am a newbie. I've had some great hits on my site, but one person really interested asked me for my access code. For the life of me, I cannot find it in my back office. Can anyone out there tell me where I can find my access code? I have ordered 10 DVD's and I know I have to write my code on them. Please help me soon, as I am on the move quickly. I just started on 8/23 and I've had 165 hits. I am stoked. But I've had about 14 emails, and I emailed those puppies right back. But the access code has me stumped.

As far as I know, clicking on the commissions tab will tell you what the amount is. You can select your minimum amount to $10 if you want to be paid out by Paypal but this will cost you a $3 fee.  If you click on your commission tab on the left hand of your main office, you can select your minimum and way of payment.  Hope this was of help to you.

You will not want to cancel membership. The Website is part of the business which is included in the price. 5$ of the membership fee goes to paying upline etc.. The website is the beauty of the whole thing because it gives your advertisement individuality. You advertise your website and you can have it jump directly to the http://website.ws/yourusername that way you get credit for the signup. Just a thought.

Abe - it is NOT unusual to ask for the SSN as this is needed for tax reporting purposes. Just as if you had a job and you were working for someone - you would need to provide them with your SSN. This is the same situation.

Title: Can You Still Get The Bonus If You Move Your Downline????
Post by: LBarber on September 12, 2007, 12:05:31 PM
Hi all,

I can't find a definite answer to this anywhere!  I want to know if I can still qualify for the weekly bonuses if I put my new sign-ups underneath people in my level one.  Can I still be a bonus pool winner if I am simply the "referrer" or do I have to be the direct sponsor?  I have heard some people say yes and some say no.

This will directly affect how a structure my downline, so I would really appreciate an answer from someone who knows for sure.

Thanks so much!

YES you will still earn the weekly bonuses off of the members you sponsor and then move to someone else in your downline. I have done this before.

This is really a great improvement on the part of GDI. With the inclusion of paypal payments a lot of people who couldnt pay before now have many options through paypal =)

Title: Why .WS?
Post by: Alex Chan on September 18, 2007, 03:48:39 AM
I just started to tell people about GDI, I told them that we provide domain with ".ws", then I have a question from people saying why they should get ".ws" instead of ".com"? Also people feel that ".ws" is not as cool as ".com". How can I convince them to get a ".ws" domain instead of ".com" or ".net"?

Thanks.

Hello Alex,

There is no need to convince anyone.  Although our main product is the .ws domain extension, we (GDI) do offer the other extensions as well, such as .com, .net, .org to name a few.  The important thing to remember about domain names is what appears between the two dots.  The www is not important, nor is the extension.  Does that make sense to you?  I also congratulate you on leading with the product instead of the opportunity.

Hope that I was able to help in some form or fashion.  Have a great day and I wish you much success.

Frank

hi all... though an experienced marketeer, i'm new to GDI.

How do people from outside the US avail of the "5 member per week" $100 bonus? You need to buy 10 DVDs per to qualify for the bonus, but in my case, the cost of the DVD's plus shipping totals to about $130 cos I live on the other side of the planet... :-(

Any comments / help? How're people from outside the US availing of the contest bonuses?

Hi Prashant, a lot of people misunderstand this - the truth is that you only have to buy the 10 DVDs ONCE - after you have bought them once you are FOREVER qualified.  :)

The information you are searching for is in your GDI Member's area.  Login to your account at www.website.ws/members, click on support, then cancellation and you will see the entire process.

My recommendation for all new members (and us old heads as well) is to log into your Member's area, spend 30 minutes to an hour per day there, click around (you cannot break it), learn your back office.  All the information/resources that you need to run your GDi business is there, right at your fingertips.

Title: Thoughts re: expansion to GDI program?
Post by: AlastairHarris on September 28, 2007, 04:42:31 AM
I was wondering what was in the future for Global Domains International.  I simply love GDI.  My downline grew by 20 this month, half sponsored by me in my frontline and half sponsored by my down line.  I can see this program with which I have been for over a year is really starting to take off for me.

What I wondered is have GDI thought of adding anything?

For example we all know that blogs are immensely popular - I wondered if the hosting option could included a linked blog - i.e. 10 page website plus blog?.  Some people say that google's blogger already offers free blogs - but I had the experience where they deleted my blogs - FREE hosting means - zero ownership - zero control - I've learnt - OWN YOUR DOMAIN NAME, SITE, etc.  I don't know if this would mean too much server space eaten up or not?

Does anyone have any other suggestions about what they would like to see added?

I was glad to read this post as it reconfirmed that the product should come before the opportunity.  I think GDI is a great community of people and even if the business aspect weren't here, I would be.  I have a dot com address also and don't find the support that I find here.  Perhaps that is something others can relay as to why dot ws is a good choice.  Thank you Frank for reinforcing this concept.

Hi Kristy,

If one of your newly signed up affiliates chose
to pay by bank wire here is what happens:

While this affiliate does count toward your
total affiliate members for the bonus he/she
will not cause you to appear on the potential
Leader Boards, once we have secured payment
from the affiliate however you will appear on
the confirmed leader boards with the correct
number of sign ups listed for your account.

That happened to me last week.

Title: Freezing Account?
Post by: MarlonC on October 02, 2007, 05:47:10 AM
Is it possible to freeze my account and later (after x amount of time/days) return to it the way I left it, and without owing money?

If a person quits (I am not planning to), what happens to their downline? What would happen if that person returns?

Title: Re: Freezing Account?
Post by: Rod_D on October 02, 2007, 08:09:48 PM
There is no freezing the account.

When the billing cycle attempts to debit and uncollected, GDI attempts to debit for the next 28 days. I'm not sure just exactly when GDI lowers your status to inactive, but this will be when you loose your content to your website.

It's always a good practise to be prepared for the unexpected and save a back up copy of your website work.

If a member becomes inactive, then your downline moves up to your sponsor, so you will lose your downline.

In the event cash flow prevents meeting the following months payment, since GDI now excepts paypal, there are
many good PTC sites that pays via paypal, therefore using free money to pay for the most important marketing tool
that every work from home person must have, that is your own website, hosting all your affiliate programs.

2- I have a prospect who told me she paid with paypal (probably 1 month) , it was accepted and then after she was requested a CC

Hi Paul,
With regard to your first question, PayPal will accept a credit card or a varified bank account.  However, without varification, none of the transactions will appear.  Not really sure about your second question.  Perhaps support could accomodate.  Take care.

Title: Online store

In the marketing section I saw people talking about getting local small business to sign up with GDI just to get the domain and have there own website saying that it will help their profits grow and grow their market internationally unlike before but this would only make sense if you could make an online store with GDI. And I was just wondering is there any way to make an online store with GDI and have a way to take orders on your page like a shopping cart or anything like that?

Title: Re: Online store
Post by: DPro on October 16, 2007, 10:14:23 AM
Hi Chris,

You can create online stores using GDI domain name if you choose to host the domain name in your own server.
This can easily be done by choosing the "Advanced users Name servers" option in your GDI member area.

As for shopping cart scripts and online stores, as long as you know some basic ftp and php, there are many open source script freely available,
the ones I recommend are:
OScomemerce => http://www.oscommerce.com/solutions/downloads
AgoraCart => http://www.agoracart.com/

Agora cart is sometimes already installed in your server depending on which host you use.

PM me if you need any assistance on these.

Post by: RDeMain on October 17, 2007, 05:00:08 AM
Hello,

I am farely new with GDI, and I have a friend in my downline.  That keeps getting contacted by my upline which i guress is her upline.  She gets emails to sign up under his programs.  And even has a link to view his video.

Can the upline see that someone has watched the video in your prospected downline and start sending emails?

What what if someone went there and watched the movie but not sign up that day under me and after the 3rd day say they get another email from upline  they clicked on his link and signed up is that fair.

Are the upline members  suppose to be contacting and suggesting other programs for people to join when it not their personally sponsored person??

If I am not mistaken, if you cancel your account, you have to wait a certain period of time before you sign up under someone else.  I cannot recall if it's 2 weeks, a month or what.  Read the terms of service to get the exact details.  You will find them on your website.

Why would you give up 17 active team members for 40 leads?  I understand that he's your friend and that he thinks that much of you to ask you to cancel your account, start all over by joining under him.  Now, how would you feel if your sponsor was building a team of motivated people, decide to jump ship, quit on them to join under someone else?

It's a great idea for him to start a campaign with goals of making the leader board consistently (a fantastic goal).  However, his success or failure does not guarantee your success or failure.  Think about all of this for a moment.

Frank

p.s.  I almost forgot to answer your question.  Your team members will remain where they are.  They are not pushed up.  Your upline sponsor(s) will continue to receive his/her $1 per person, regardless of the level they are sitting in your matrix.

Yes, they have to register a domain name.
It's a GDI product. However, they do not
have to do anything with it.
When someone clicks on it, he or she will
be redirected to their main GDI affiliate page.

Title: Is GDI ready for China?
Post by: S_Proescholdt on November 03, 2007, 12:33:29 AM
Hi my name is Stephanie.
I am new here, but it dawned on me that we are going to be seeing some copycats to the GDI system, and I sure hope that GDI will always be able to be if not one step, then several steps ahead of them.  Luckily, not all countries are like most Americans, meaning most can read and speak English.  However the sooner GDI is able to make all it has to offer in many languages. Or get some kind of translator button...lol ... funny I know... the better it will be.

I have family in China, and most of my neighbors around here speak Spanish, many of them do not even speak English.  I am signing up my father and my sister today, and they both live in China.  They work for one of the biggest import export companies in China.  And so I was just wondering if GDI has any thing in the workings for China. China has 1.3 billion people I hope we are ready.

Anyways... you know the saying. Build it and they will come!

Thank You for building something worth being a part of GDI ! I am happy to be here.  ;D

Post by: BJack on November 15, 2007, 01:38:01 AM
Greetings from BGJack,

Hi every one.  I am a new affillitate living in KC.  I am very passionate about this opportunity and I am pursuing it fervently.  One of my prospects in Atlanta inquired after receiving my "invite" "How many Millionaires has GDI produced and are there any at all?'  Is this a question that can be asked and if so what is the answer?   Many companies actually brag about "making" millionaires (good or bad); although, they may not release the names (for privacy reasons of course).

Do we have any GDI produced millionaires and if so has it been one, few/several?  Has anyone attained this level?

Hi Everyone!
My name is Maisen and I live in Idaho, happily married, have 3 dogs and have been working on the internet for about a year.

My question is, if I sign up for multiple domain names, do I get commission on those or does someone else? Most places you sign up for a domain  name for $5 to $10 per year. I'm trying to figure out the advantage of signing up through GDI at $10 a month for each domain. That's a big difference in price.

Hope someone can help!

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Maisen,
You are right in the fact that there are other places where you can obtain a domain name for cheaper.  However, is it the name you want or do you have to compromise?  Do the others offer the opportunity to build a business for the same price?  Don't think so.  There in the difference.

I just joined also through a posting on Craigslist.  And I have the same question.  Has anyone gotten any answers?  I don't see why it would be considered spam.  It is the same as putting an ad in the paper.  It is an online classified ad.  I am not spamming anyone, I don't know their address.  They see the ad, click on the link and watch the movie.  At this point I still don't have their email.  They have to choose to respond and ask for info or sign up.  If they don't, they will never hear from me because I DON'T HAVE THEIR EMAIL ADDRESS!  But I too don't want to start out on the wrong foot.  Can anyone answer!?!?!

A LOT OF THE PLACES THAT YOU CAN SIGN UP A DOMAIN NAME FOR LESS MONEY
ARE IN THE LONG RUN MORE EXPENSIVE
I HAVE A DOMAIN NAME WITH ANOTHER PROVIDER THAT ONLY COST $29.
EVERY THREE YEARS

BUT TO PUT A WEB PAGE WITH IT WOULD RUN A WHOLE LOT MORE.
WHAT GOOD IS A DOMAIN NAME WITHOUT A WEB PAGE BEHIND IT ?

WITH GDI YOU GET THE DOMAIN NAME AND A PLACE TO PUT IT FOR $10. A MONTH
AND IT IS A LOT MORE CLEAR CUT AND SIMPLE THAN SEVERAL OTHER
PLACES THAT I HAVE BEEN.

First, just a little correction as this is dot ws.  Secondly, you can do whatever you want to with your current domain name.  You are not obligated to promote or become affiliated with anything.  GDI is a product.  Your monthly fee supplies you with your domain name, website, email, hosting and support.  However, if you choose to use this product for sales, that is your choice.

Lastly, the site builder is found by clicking your tab called "Domains."  On that page you should see "Site Builder."  Hope this was helpful and addressed your concerns.

Title: Is anyone out there really making thousands per month?
Post by: UribeL on January 01, 2008, 09:26:33 AM
Sorry, but I'm a skeptic by nature.  I joined because I liked the Domain and hosting idea for only 10 bucks a month.  So I think okay, this can't be that hard to do because I really think it's a great product.  So I've changed some of my advertising to promote the Domain and Hosting site for only 10 per month.  I am curious though, as to how many of you out there are really making the big bucks.  Comments , advice and honesty are really appreciated.

May everyone have a joyous and prosperous new year!

As a lot of you, I am new and have questions.....but, first let me ask....

Who is answering them in here?
I see quite a few back questions that have yet to be answered.
Is this typical of this forum, to pick and choose which questions are answered and which are left stumbling around in the the dark looking for a light switch?
I don't mean to sound gruff, but you'd think during the free trail period new members could come in here and get answers to their questions to help them make an INFORMED decision, even if it's just telling them to get in touch with their up line.

Hi, I've looked all through my backoffice and can't seem to find the website builder. Where can I find it?

Hi Mary,

Click on "Domains" on the left hand column.  At the top of the page you will see:

                                                            Manage your Domains

                                                                My Domains

Domain Name Paid Through Status DNS Setting Change DNS Current Plan Type Change Plan Type

This is where you'll find what you're looking for.  On the sixth column under DNS Setting you'll be able to click on site builder.
then just follow the directions to build your site.

I'm new also, so I hope this helps.
Good luck.

I really haven't been here long enough to put in my "two cents" but so far I've noticed this:  If it has to do with marketing or gettin help with advertising, encouragement, etc., you'll get a lot of replies from any member that's in here at any given time.  It seems that most everyone in here is eager to help each other succeed.
I still haven't gotten an answer to my question, and I was really just looking for the big guns to be honest and share their insight with us newbies.  I want to be encouraged by people that are actually making a substantial income with this company.
So really, we all post questions and watch, and watch, and watch, until we get the right answer, or at least one that will satisfy our question.

Hello Robin,

I am not sure of the reason for this. However, there is a company called Banners Galore that specializes in creating banners for WebSite hosting companies. You may want to contact them and see if they could help you out. The last time I used them, I was pleased, and I think the price was good (though I cannot remember what it was right off).

Hello...
This is Lois from Tasmania.
I have just signed up and this appears to be a very good opportunity, however I am a bit disappointed with the price of shipping the DVDs to Australia.... just to ship ONE DVD would cost me over a hundred Dollars!!!  I am very interested and enthusiastic to give this a go but really my enthusiasm has been dampened greatly by the prospect of having to pay such  high charges.... the DVD is worth $2.95 or something similar ... why is the cost to get it here so much??? Is there a more cost effective way??? Does anyone have clues... or am I missing something vital...waiting to hear.. Lois

Post by: G_Winfield on January 15, 2008, 03:26:43 AM
Hello all,
I have a new affiliate that says that he can't send out invitations because he has a "trial" membership. When he tries to send an invite, he gets this message

"You cannot use our invitation system"
Trial accounts are not eligible to use our online invitation system. Once this account converts to full active status, you will be able to do so.

But at the same time, I've had others who have signed up and have been able to send invites immediately. Has anyone else had this problem and how can I resolve it.

Thanks,
Greg Winfield

Lois,

You may want to send people to http://www.freedom.ws/yourusername/show_dvd instead. This has the full DVD online, so you do not have to give them a physical copy.

Post by: mack88 on January 16, 2008, 04:06:19 AM

Hi!

Is there any cost for the change?

Thanks;

Luis

You can order as many domains as you want at the cost of $10 per month each.  At that time, you can let your previous domain expire and go back into the GDI pool.  Yes, there are other extensions available.  However, you will be charged an additional $10 per year for those extensions.  Log into your member's area for all of the details.

If you decide to change your username, there is a charge for that.  For years, it was impossible to change usernames.  Last year, GDI implemented the procedure.  Again, check your member's area for all of the details.

Hope this information helps you...

Frank

Title: What's With The NEW Affiliate Pages I've Been Seeing?
Post by: Carol Iliou on February 01, 2008, 04:22:19 AM
Has anyone seen the NEW GDI affiliates page?? I'm a member on several traffic exchanges and as of last night I've been seeing a bright RED page, which has a stunning photo of a Ferrari on it (in the middle of the page) with the headline (in white) "Financial Freedom". As you scroll down to the bottom it has that familiar movie ticket where you enter your info to watch the 7-minute movie.

Where can WE get such a page?

I've also noticed that the page we use to track our hits (the "http://website.ws/username" site) is NOT just the "testimonials" page for some folks anymore.  Mine still is, but my dad is also a GDI member and when HIS affiliate page comes up it shows a NEW type of GDI movie -- the same African American gentleman plus some new brunette woman with him. Plus the page looks a whole lot BETTER than those boring, long-winded testimonials.  How come this is not the same page for EVERYONE?? It seems that some members have this page while others, like me, have the "older" version.

I'm really confused! Can someone address this PLEASE???  ???  >:(

There are so many GDI afiliates posting questions to these forums, but no one seems to be anwering, I get emails telling me about prospects and how I need to
contact them asap, well what am I contacting them for? Where do I send them? When I joined no one contacted me telling me where to go or what to do. Still
No answers, reading the forums only has a series of questions some of the same ones I have but NO ANSWERS. Does this mean there is no real money maker here, that we are just another form of advertisment for the CREATORS.

I have several Home business opportunities I currently work on and though I am not raking in millions, I am doing well, AND I HAVE TEACHERS a supper Upline that
understands that if I succeed then they succedd more:)

hi Line,

You don't get paid if someone buys business cards.
You get paid on sold domain names. That's GDI
product: domain names and hosting accounts.

Business cards are tools for building a GDI business,
not a commissionable product.

GDI pays on time, you don't have to worry about it.
I will scan my checks, post in on my website
and show you.
I get weekly bonuses by check and my monthly
commission by bank wire.

Title: Placing members
Post by: JamesMyles on February 27, 2008, 01:51:25 PM
Hi Guys,

Sorry, this has probably been covered elsewhere in the forum - I'll go and hunt after this post - In the meantime do you mind helping me with the answers to these questions .......

1) Can you confirm that you can have multiple accounts (domains) and be able to earn on all of them ?
2) Is it correct that you can only move people that you directly sign up to your level 2 ?
3) And that this can only be done within the first 7 days of joining ?
4) If i sign up bob, who in turn signs up jane prior to me placing bob, can i still move bob (and his team) to a level 2 member? As long as this occurs withing 7 days ?
5) How long is a cycle ? Is it monthly, 28 days etc ??

You see what im thinking of is getting a group of members together and organising some teamwork so that everyone builds a 2x2 structure down their 5 levels.

If this is done correctly and everyone places 2x2 we will have a structure that looks as follows

Me
Level 1 - 2 members
Level 2 - 4 members
Level 3 - 8 members
Level 4 - 16 members
Level 5 - 32 members
Total members 62

So in theory i spend $10 per cycle, And can earn $62

But taking it a step further......

If i get 20 people who agree 2x2 teamwork i will spend $10 and will be earning $20. So once i get my 20 members i will be in profit and be in a position to start a new position. I then get member 2 to sign up under me and member 3 under them and so on.....

(hope this makes sense)

I will be adding to the origional 20 members and be encouraging them to reinvest thier profit into buying more domains and helping the members above and below them

Look forward to your comments

Take care and chat soon

James

Title: Re: Questions about GDI
Post by: DPro on February 29, 2008, 01:25:19 PM
Hi James,

Your 2X2 idea is awesome  :D

1) Can you confirm that you can have multiple accounts (domains) and be able to earn on all of them ?
No, GDI doesn't allow you to hold multiple accounts (memberships), but you can have multiple domains in 1 account.
If your downline bought 2 domains, you will earn $2 from him/her
However you can sign up for an additional GDI memberhsip using your business name.
So in total you can have only 2 memberships : 1 personal and 1 business membership

2) Is it correct that you can only move people that you directly sign up to your level 2 ?
No, you can move them to anywhere in your group (5 levels) as long they are personally referred by you

3) And that this can only be done within the first 7 days of joining ?
Yes

4) If i sign up bob, who in turn signs up jane prior to me placing bob, can i still move bob (and his team) to a level 2 member? As long as this occurs withing 7 days ?
Yes

5) How long is a cycle ? Is it monthly, 28 days etc ??
1 month

Welcome Sandee to GDI.  You do not have an affiliate number.   Only a username.  Your username is used to log into your members area and you can place it after the various websites that you have at your fingertips, such as:

www.movie.ws
www.my.ws
www.website.ws
www.freedom.ws

Again welcome and have a great day...

I do not have any downline but that is ok as I have not built the business.

Now that I am actualy statring to and using the following links:

http://movie.ws/username/show
http://www.freedom.ws/username/show_dvd
http://www.website.ws/username#ticket
http://www.my.ws/username
http://www.website.ws/kvmlm2/hosting.dhtml?sponsor=username
http://website.ws/kvmlm2/ws.dhtml?sponsor=username&template=1
http://website.ws/kvmlm2/ws.dhtml?sponsor=username&template=2
http://website.ws/kvmlm2/ws.dhtml?sponsor=username&template=3
http://website.ws/kvmlm2/ws.dhtml?sponsor=username&template=4
http://website.ws/kvmlm2/ws.dhtml?sponsor=username&template=5

I come accross a problem, in perticular http://www.website.ws/kvmlm2/hosting.dhtml?sponsor=username
I have a friend who would like to start her own website, so great i thought here is the opportunity to share GDI with her.  Simple you might think.  Explain about GDI, how you can get all the wonderfull benifits and build a business while you are using the system.  Wrong !!!

I talled her about GDI and the $10 / fee and then sent her to the hosting link. What a mistake.  That link only focus on hosting and the person is asked to pay $70 or someting like that a year - upfront !!!!?

Why have two systems?

Why not just have the GDI Opportunity as standard, no matter how you use it?  I signed up for GDI for the hosting of my sight and for maybee using the business opportunity later to making money.

I have another problem.

I started GDI with the following URL/Domain www.mylotto.ws and have been hosting it now with GDI for over a year.  A couple of month ago I registered another domain www.travelbookings.ws thinking that I will support GDI as i am very fond of the system and program.  And I foolishly thought that because I am a member of GDI and again supporting GDI that I would get the $1 refferal for my other domain ... hahaha what a mistake.

GDI billes me in full for my second domain !!!!

I think this is not right !  We are promoting GDI and are loyal to GDI, I think GDI should reward us for being Loyal and give us a refferal comm for registerring an additional Domain.

Hope some one can answer me on the two issues above.

 ???

Is anyone else suddenly getting their premium lead notifications in Spanish when they have not selected Spanish as their preferred language?
Just started getting them in the last couple of days and wondering if there's a glitch in the system? Just curious if it's system wide.

Hi Werner. GDI pays commissions for account. Not for domains that we have contracted in our members' zone.

you can generate commissions of another domain if you it were registering under some member of your network .

But you could have 1000 domains in your members' zone and only receive commissions of the domains  that in your downline.

Thank you Marina,

I appresiate your reply.  I wonder if one could suggest to the GDI Management to reward members for getting multiple domains through the GDI system.

lets say getting a $1 discount, this does not have to be paid for the members sponsor or upline but only for the member with the multiple domains.

As I understand the system GDI pay comm five levels, thus giving $1 discount is much less than the comm and will keep the members loyal to GDI

Post by: AndreaG on March 24, 2008, 10:38:50 AM
Sorry but i don't speak english very well...
My question is "it's possible ti have 2 or 3 or 4... account per person?"

thank you

Title: Re: Question
Post by: DPro on March 25, 2008, 12:27:02 AM
No, each person can only have 1 GDI account.
However, you can have 1 personal account (sign up under your own name) and a business account (sign up with your business name)

hope that answers your question.

Besides sending invites, other effective ways of promoting are:
    • traffic exchanges
    • banner exchanges
    • social bookmarking
    • pay per click advertisement
    • classified and ezine ads
    • press releases
    • social networks
    • forums
    • viral reports
    • name card dropping
    • local ad boards
    • buying leads (from reputable lead sources)
    • ... many more

Where can I find the large GDI video of presentation as a file I can download ?
If we find the answer to this question, we will be able to have this presentation on your computer so we'll be able to present more quicly (the reading will be more fluid); we will be able to present without an interet connection and ours knowledge of GDI will increase  ::)

Title: Problems setting permissions with blogger.
Post by: ColinN on April 12, 2008, 07:27:15 AM
    Hi,

I recently decided to use a blog and direct it towards my domain. The only problem is, the permissions don't seem to be working out.

I will either get errors that say: "550 internet-income-ideas.ws: Forbidden filename" when I try to change permissions.

When blogger does upload the files to my domain (somehow), I get an error at my site saying 403 forbidden.

I had this problem before, and I simply fixed it by setting my permissions to 644, but now I can't seem to do that in FileZilla.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hi, my advice to you regarding your friend wanting to sign up and receive a dvd also from you, just email that person saying

'Your dvd will be on its way to you, In the mean time while you are waiting to receive it,  as soon as you sign up then you can show the video presentation to your friends directly from your site, to get your own sign ups straight away '

or something like that, i dont recommend sending free dvd's to people but that is my own opinion, if you want to , then just cancel the order, and as soon as your balance on your cc account is in credit you can order some......

Hi, i have the cards, and they are worth every cent of $50 , yes they are glossy double sided printed , and its a very effective way of promoting your GDI for very little money, you can hand them out to work friends family, people you know, also leave a bunch at post office, banks, libraries...........pertrol stations etc........people do look at them and they do sign up, oh and also another way of doing it, is put small classified in your local newpaper, thousands of people get to read it.....

Keep it simple, dont go spending money that you dont have......
When you do start earning good put a portion of this money to advertise more.........thats how the system works

By the way, i have never had anyone taking a business card and NOT signing up.............so there!

    Hey John,

Not sure what page you are looking at.  However, when you click on the JOIN link, it does take you to a secure page.  How can you tell?  First you will notice https: in your browser.  Secondly, you will see the GOLD LOCK next to the url in near the browser window.

You do not lose team members if someone quits.

And last, you change your credit card info in your member's area which is secure as well.

    Have a great day

    Frank

    Title: How to advertise
Post by: ChristyPerez on April 26, 2008, 04:57:34 AM
Hey everyone! Newbie in the house.  I purchased another "Affiliate Program" (I have yet to receive) before I accidentally came upon this GDI website and the premiss is that I build a webpage on something that I know about and if the person who clicks on my webpage actually goes to my directed website, ie. American Express and purchases a card from them, I get credit for that sale.  I want to know if I can advertise GDI on this other website and have my webpage direct them to GDI.

I'll admit I'm a bit over my head with all of this and could use someones expertise about now.  Thanks!

Well Christy, I am not a guru or anything but you really should not take on too many things at once, especially if your new to this business.  There is always a learning curve with everything you do and taking on 2, 3 even 4 things can definitely make you frustrated very fast and just quit on all of them. I would recommend learning what to do with GDI then after you have this down add another business.
As for the website if you are building the other site there should be no problem linking the sites together.  Just put a banner up or a text ad, if you need help on doing that just ask in the forum, there are a lot of very experienced people in here willing to help you out.

Title: Is Global Domain International a MLM Company?
Post by: Harald Soerensen on May 12, 2008, 05:19:45 AM
    Hi, Everybody!

Is it right to speak about GDI as a MLM- (Mulit Level Marketing)
    or Networking Business?

Promoting the company, I think we are actually building a networks.
Also, the comission plan reminds about MLM.
And we talk about uplines and downlines!

So to me, GDI looks more like an MLM company!

On the other hand, on the GDI pages, the word "affiliates" are used!

The reason for this question is that I am working on some E-mails to put
into autoresponders, and like to use the correct expression.

    Regards

    Harald Sorensen

    Hi Harald Sorensen,

I think all the terms can be used interchanably.
To my understanding, MLM and network marketing means exactly the same thing.
Affiliate simply means you get paid for sharing with others about the service, the only difference is usually affiliate commission is just 1 or 2 tiers
but GDI payout to 5 tiers.

I use all the terms for my own promotion.
I guess you don't have to worry much about it as long as your prospects understands the potential income.

Title: Can I have an additional account under another sponsor
Post by: Randy Sutton on May 12, 2008, 11:33:34 AM
    Hello everyone,

I already have a account with GDI but am wondering if I can keep this account yet create another account under a different sponsor who is teaching a system to grow their GDI business with great success?

What is the proper procedure for doing this? Will I need to drop the one account in order to resign with a different sponsor? Doesn't seem like it would make any difference because I will still be sending business to GDI only a lot more business and I would still be getting paid under same S.S. #.

There used to be a customer support number for GDI but I can't find this. Does anyone have this information?

It has been a long time since I have been on GDI forum but GDI has faithfully paid me each and every month since 2004 and all I did was send out one email blast at time of my joining. I have never invested so little in time, effort and money and received so much for this long with any other company. My original intent was not making money but having a way to build a website. I just thought it was a great way to learn about websites building.

    Hi,

I live in Japan, and to order DVDs would cost me over $150 in shipping very time.

I get packages routinely from the USA, however, and wanted to change the shipping address to my mother's house so she could put them in the boxes when she sends them.

It appears I can't change my address unless I order the dvds one at a time.

Is there a way around this?

Hello everyone. Have you noticed the "new live chat"  button to the left on our main menu? I really think this is a cool tool that we can use to get in contact with our up and downline. Having a one-on-one chat or even a group chat can be very encouraging for our affiliates. Has anybody actually used it? If so, what are your opinions on it? My upline is very bad when it comes to responding my emails. I hope to see some members in this live chat to get some questions answered. But I will definitely use this function with my downline. I think it can make a huge impact if you can be available for any questions your downline may have. I hope you guys take advantage of this function as well.

Have a great one everyone!!! ;D

I just signed on for the trial period yesterday.  I've never built a website before and am new to all of this.  A couple of questions:  1) I chose a name at random to try 'site builder' with and don't like the domain name that I chose.  Is it possible for me to change it while I'm still in the trial period.  I would also like to change my Username and contact email address if possible.  Thanks for your help !

I am happy to be here.  ;D

    Hello David,

You're right, Go Daddy is selling .ws domain names at 14.95? per year.  It's just a domain name and can be forwarded using their services.  As a GDI Affiliate, you cannot purchase just a domain name, the $10 per month that you pay goes towards a website, hosting, email account, etc.  That's the difference.  It's much more than a domain name.  There's a business opportunity as well.  You become a reseller of .ws domain names

You can as a customer, purchase a GDI domain name on a yearly basis, but not as an affiliate.  You would have to go to the corporate website and purchase it outright.  You will not receive hosting, email addresses, website templates, etc.  You would have to purchase the add-on  seperately.  In my opinion, it simply pays to be an affiliate.

    Hope this info helps...

Post by: Jeff M1 on June 18, 2008, 03:39:31 AM
I went through the sign-up process as a new GDI member today, and when I was customizing the front page of my site attempting to upload the photo from my hard drive, there was a website error.  Further attempts made me call it quits for now (since it's after hours and too soon for my domain / blog to be set up.

Would I have to phone support in Carlsbad tomorrow to find out if it went through OK?  I'm unable to get back to that particular screen.
Also: Is it necessary to even upload a photo to begin with or can that spot remain blank on the finished page?

Does anyone know how to turn that off.

    Thanks

    Greg,

    1.  Login to your GDI Control Panel at www.website.ws/members
    2.  Click on "Domains" which is located on the left side of page
    3.  Click on "Change DNS"
    4.  Choose the "Domain Forwarding" radio button
    5.  Change url to whatever website you want your domain to point to...

Hope this helps you and anyone who didn't know

    Frank

p.s.  The best way to learn your GDI business and your GDI Members Area is to log in and simply click around to learn the business that you own.  It is impossible to break it.  However, it is possible to change a few settings, so make sure you recall your steps.  Maybe take a few note as you're getting to know your member's area.

    Greetings, all:

I posted this question before but it didn't show up somehow. Is it allowable to copy the DVD for distribution? In other words, to make smaller presentations such as iPod and mp4 movies and what not. I just need to know if there is any copyright infringement if I copy the english or spanish version of the movie to be able to send as e-mail attachments with a text over-lay that has my website on it. You know what I mean?

Many thanx to those that can answer this question.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Sharon,

No one gets paid on the DVDs or business cards.  Those are simply tools/resources to help you build your GDI empire.  To understand your business, go back to the email you received from GDI when you first started.  All of the information you need to build GDI is in that email.  In additon, the 7-minute animated movie will tell you exactly what your business is.

    Hi folks,

I do have something niggling at the back of my mind and I would like some
    feedback.

Listening to the presentations, there is much emphasis on the fact that
preferred domain names with dot com, dot net, dot org and others are very
    hard to get.

Surely the same situation will become the case with dot ws.

It seems to have happened quite quickly with the others. How long do you
think it will happen with dot ws and what happens then?

The reason for my question is that I am looking to build a very long term
residual income. I don't want to find myself reaching a ceiling in 5 or 6 years
    from now.

I look forward to your views.

    Hi Gordon,

I think there isn't any concerns about running out of names for .ws,
as a matter of fact, there is no danger even for .com which is the first domain name extension ever invented.
Here's some statistics I got from the web to show you the daily transactions of domain names.

There are currently more then 100 million active domain names and everyday more then 200,000 new ones are purchased.
    How's that for business?
I am confident that the domain name business is definitely here to stay  :D

Title: When Does GDI Take The $10/Month Payment From Us?
Post by: EugeneZ on July 23, 2008, 02:52:00 AM
    Hi:

I selected PayPal for GDI to take the $10/month payment from.  I assume this is automatically
done each month.  Everything went fine with the procedure I followed to select PayPal.

I am in my first month of GDI, but I have not seen the $10 withdrawal come through yet.

Does GDI take the $10 at the beginning of the month or at the end?

Would like to know because if there is something wrong, I need to fix it.  I haven't seen any
email messages stating they tried to take the $10 and it failed.  Just nervous, don't want to
promote GDI and find out I don't qualify for commissions because they couldn't withdraw the
    $10 from my PayPal account.

    Thanks for your help,   :)

    Hi:

Could someone look in their PayPal account and see when GDI takes
the $10/month fee?  I'm assuming that after your free 7-day trial,
then on the 8th day of membership, you are now in the first official
month of membership where you must pay $10/month.  So does
GDI take the $10 on that day or do they wait until 30 days later
    and take the $10?

I'm trying to determine if GDI has been unable to take the $10 from
my Paypal account (automatically)  But I need to know when they
take the fee (beginning or end of each month).

    Thanks for the clarification.   :)

GDI takes the first payment after your 7 day trial.  In addition, the day you joined GDI becomes your anniversary date.  So each month on that date GDI will debit your account.  Your account is not debited at the end or the beginning of the month.  Hope that explains it for you...

    Hi Desmond,

No, a .ws is not required. You can chose .com, .net, and others when you join.
I use a .ws because it was easy to get the domain name I wanted. No chance of that with some of

Yes, I'm new here and I have a few questions...

    1. Webhosting:
I'm just wondering how to see your stats on your .ws website. I really can't find it anywhere, and if it's not implemented yet, it should!
Stats are sooo important, and it would be great to see which search engines sends you traffic!

    2. Affiliate tracking:
I haven't found that one yet either.
I'm just looking for a good way to track which traffic actually bring in downlines, as I plan on trying out different advertising platforms.

Thank you! That's all for now folks =)

Does GDI limit the filetypes you can upload? If so can someone give me a link to the appropriate page that spells it out? Thanks.

I created an Ebook in a compiled format. So that means it is a .exe file. I ftp'd it to my space just fine. But when I tested it, I only downloaded a stub. The exe file is 875k the stub that downloaded was like 1k.

As a workaround, I zipped the file and it both up and downloaded just fine.

I understand that I'm getting paid up to my 5th level.  My question is: For example: I put 6 people on my first level. Out of these 6 people only 1 really gets successful and does all the five levels 6 adding 6s. At the end of the five levels this successful person is making $9330. Now, will I get all the $9330 that the one successful person makes as well? and will my upline get all that $9330 as well?   Please someone with an understandable straight answer.  Thank you very much and I hope all of you are making lots and lots of dough..... ::) ;D

If you had that one person on your 1st line bringing in 6, who bring in 6, etc. all the way down to Level 5 - you would be making $1554 from that particular leg - because although THEY have filled out to their own level 5 and are making $9330, that would be level 6 in your own downline. But, $1554 a month in leveraged income that someone else is bringing in for you is nothing to shake a stick at!

    Hope that helps :)

You have 6                       Your Level 1
Only one of them gets 6     Your Level 2
    who get 6 each = 36         Your Level 3
    who get 6 each = 216        Your Level 4
    who get 6 each = 1296      Your Level 5

    Total = 1560 = £1560 per month for you
Your sponsor gets $264 per month

When you have  a group of 5000 members in your first 5 levels, you qualify for
    10% level 6 to infinity.

I understand that most people who have achieved infinity bonus say that most
of their income comes from level 6 and beyond.

You purchased a .com extension.  GDI charges you a $10 per year maintenance fee for those domain names that DO NOT end with the .ws extension.  The .ws extension does not carry a yearly manintenance fee, all others do.  When signing up/purchasing a new domain, that information is clearly stated.  After your 7-day free trial, your account will be charged $10 per month.  Hope this answers your question.  If you have any additional questions regarding your account, do not hesitate to post here in the forum or log into your GDI members area to contact the GDI home office.

    Hi GDI family members,

I'm very happy to be a new member, looking forward to being a part of this big family and making some cash (I"ll keep you posted ;)

For now.. I have 2 questions that I'm hoping you can help me with.
    1) I'm wondering if I can have a subdomain, and if so, how do you set that up??
    2) I want to put a counter from statcounter, on my site (but I do have my site forwarded), Is it possible to just modify the html on your site? How do I modify my site without going thru all kinds of templates, etc ??

    Peace and Prosperous Blessings,

    Hi Everyone!

It's my first day of my trial period.  I'm 100% convince about this opportunity.  I want my GDI account to be FULL ACTIVE Status immediately.  Being on a trial account, I can't use the Invitation System under the members area.  Is there a way that I can pay now the $10 so that I can be on a FULL ACTIVE Status?

    Thanks!

    Hi Liz,
    1) I don't think sub-domain is supported with the GDI host at the moment
    2) Yes, you can modify the html code. To do that without going thru the templates, you will need to choose the hosting option.
See my post here for instructions on how to do that :

Post by: RachaelTaylor on September 26, 2008, 05:24:18 AM
Okay, I guess I am confused because I thought I could have a website where I could sell my own things. I was NOT looking to get into something where I had to have people sign up underneath me to make money. It appeaered as if I would be able to cutomize a website for a buisness of my own, why is this not fully disclosed before someone gives out their payment information. If I wanted to promote this buisness to my more than 500 hits per day I would continue to do so on my Blog, IT is free. Please let me know if I am misunderstanding this and I CAN have a website where I sell my products because if I can not I will be cancelling this tomorrow.

Hi Rachael, It looks as if you are misunderstanding this..You can customize and use the website to sell your own things, in fact it is encouraged..If you do not want to get into the business side of GDI, that is your choice..Good luck with your site, like to see it when done..

Title: I got a question and I need help
Post by: Paula M on September 27, 2008, 06:04:24 PM
I keep getting emails like this one.

    Hello Paula,

Congratulations! You have a new visitor to your My.WS portal site.

This person came into the system via the My.WS portal, perhaps from a flyer with your ID on it or an ad you placed on the Internet. They have just watched the flash presentation!

IT IS VITAL that you contact this person RIGHT AWAY. Don't waste ANY time at all!

For your convenience and to aid you in building a prospect mailing list, we have sent this email using your prospect's name and email in the "FROM" field, however - you should not reply directly to this message to mail the new prospect unless you delete the contents of this email before typing your message to them.

It would be ideal if you can contact this person while they are still on your GDI website!

The more time that passes between when you receive this notice and when you take action, the less your chances are of turning this person into a new partner in your GDI business.

This person has viewed your flash presentation.

    Here is their contact info:
yes there is always contact info in this email. generally their first and last name.
     there is no contact number.

    are these email's for real?

I"ve already been to my back office and they are not showing up their?
If these potential prospects for my GDI business are coming through to me as emails. then why are they not being posted in my downline?

Can a GDI member help me.

Make sure your details in your GDI back office is up to date and correct, wouldn't want you checks going anywhere else except your address, and it will be sent by mail.

If you have not got a paypal account or you do, you still have to make a paypal account under a Dot.Ws email address so payments of your commissions can be paid into a paypal account, but GDI will only pay into Dot.Ws email accounts registered with paypal, not any other email account. Then you just add that .Ws email to your preffered payment method in you payment options under get your commissions payed to you into your paypal.

    Or Bank wire.

Your domain will be deactivated, your account deactivated, but will still show as an inactive domain in your sponsors dowline tree, it will only stop showing in your sponsors downline tree when you ring them and fully delete your account by phone.

Also all 1st lvl people that you had before your account got deactivated or you fully deleted account by phone will be moved up to your sponsor, giving your sponsor a few extra 1st lvl people courtesy of you.  :P

Hang in there, and keep promoting your business.

Post by: GeddesI on October 27, 2008, 07:56:16 PM
    Hello  ;D

I am from the UK and have a couple of questions. I am still in my free trial but will be off that soon and begin having to pay a monthly fee.

Firstly, how much do I have to pay each month as a UK resident ? Is it £5.00 ?? I am unable to find this information anywhere and am rather confused. I think im right on saying that in the US its $10.00 a month but what about the UK ??

Secondly, how much money does a UK resident get for a lead when they sign up ? Or do they only get money when a lead actually begins to pay a monthly fee ? So for each lead that signs up fully how much can I expect to get from them ??

Thirdly, will the monthly fee money automatically be taken out of my bank balance when the 7 day free trial is over ? Or does this happen later on ? I am using it through paypal to let you guys know

So please answer these questions if you know as I really need this info. before the free trial is up to make sure I am completly able to continue with the monthly fees and all that.

    Many Thanks

    Iain  ;)

hey sondra, the compensation plan is very simple. it is a 5 levels deep compensation plan. you can go as far as you want in width. you get paid 1 dollar per month for every person on your downline. you also get a 100 dollar bonus for referring 5 people in 1 week. what gdi team are you on anyways?

Post by: MattDuda on October 31, 2008, 07:17:06 PM
    Hey everyone!
I am fron Thunder Bay Canada and I have a small question to ask.
It costs me $70 to get the 10 DVDs shipped to me, but my girlfriend
has a condo in Florida.  I want to get the DVD's shipped there, so I
will save about $30.  The issue I have is that when I order, it won't let
me say where I want to ship them to, when I clear the form it only erases
my name, not the contact info.  When I go to change my "main" account
info to make that the Florida address, it wont let me update it.  It won't
let me change my country?  I was just wondering how I would get these
shipped to Florida instead of Canada, and how I can do it so it will activate my
account for the "Bonuses".... Anything would help.

    Thanks and Cheers.

    Matt

    Hi all,
I just have a few undying curious questions.

What does GDI get out of this? How do they earn profit? It seems like GDI would be losing a lot of money. I mean, you pay them maybe $30 for some DvD's, $100 for some business cards, and the $10/month (for example), and you get huge profit from it, which means GDI has to have some other source of money?

Title: Just a quick simple question
Post by: JeremyE on November 24, 2008, 02:59:01 AM
Okay first and for most, WOW! I have never thought in a million years I would run into such a site that offers what it has to offer. But none the less, I'm only going by what I know thus far. I have not referred anyone to this site yet because I waiting to start on a fresh new year. I have 25+ sign ups willing to do so on my command so I'm not worried at this point about getting new sign ups when I start to promote the site using my referral link.

The question I have is this, The calculator on this site shows that if you refer 10 people, and those 10 people refer 10 people and so on all the way down the line ( stops at 5 ) gotcha. BUT, I find it hard that people are struggling to find other people to sign up on a site like this. Because it shows if you get 10 people to get 10 people to get 10 people and so forth it shows on the calculator that you could make $100,000 a month... ( $111,110 ) to be exact. I only hear about people making 10K or 12K... exp this Brian Bear guy, hes got thousands of people signed up under his referral link... and his last youtube video ( posted not that long ago ) showed that he was only making 10-12K a month... :/ I'm just wondering how this could be. I understand that on the calculator it says that it doesn't guarantee any specific network growth pattern or income earnings, but getting 10 people is beyond easy to do. I just find it hard to believe and would really like it if someone could talk to me more about this and let me know if I'm understanding this correctly or...

I thank anyone who responds back to this and answers my questions to the best of there abilities. I just don't wanna go into this business blind folded.

thanks once again and have a wonderful day,

Post by: EDana on November 26, 2008, 06:40:26 AM
    Hi everyone! How ya doing?

It's great to be here, and I'm very excited about doing business! For now, I only have one question. If I'm not going to edit my website, do I need to change the DNS? I want to start promoting right away, and want to make sure I've done everything correctly.

    Thanks ahead of time.

    Hi!

i'm just fairly new with GDI.  I've set up my email with .ws but APPARENTLY don't remember my password.  Because everything I've tried doesn't work.  Is there a way to either find out what my password is or to reset it.  Can anyone direct me to a way to fix this problem?  I'd appreciate any help.

    Thanks,

    Title: Question about the giftcards

     ;D Hi All!

Im new here, just signed up about 2 days ago and i have 2 in my DL already! (one thanks to my upline)
Anyway, i think the giftcard idea is really great, and ive never seen a marketing tool like it elsewhere which is a breath of fresh air!  So far this whole concept seems revolutionary, which is a nice change to what im used to!
Ok so my question is--- who has used the giftcards, and how did you use them?
Im wondering if this would be a good idea to purchase a few to give to "tire kickers"? general leads?
Maybe just buy 1 and send it to a bunch of leads, and whoever uses it first get it? haha
Also, i think theres an answer on the FAQ but-- how does earnings work with the card?
If i purchase 1 gift card, i dont earn money off the lead/sign up for that month?
thanks for any ideas/clarity you can share

    To Success!

I use the gift cards and I find that about 1/3 of the people use them...luckly I can resend the unused ones to new prospects. You will find a few tire kickers, some people who just want to use the website and a few people who will work the business as well.

I've discovered that my domain name is too generic for what I want to do. Is it possible to change the name without going through all of the paperwork procedures again? Or do I have to discontinue it and apply for a new one and go through the whole process again?

    Hi all,
They recently added pop ups to the replicated web pages that appear when you try to close the page. Does anyone know how to disable this or get rid of the pop ups. I was advertising on traffic exchanges, but now they removed my ads due to the pop ups. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I use, FFA, Safelists, Autoresponders, Hit Pages (Starter Pages), Blasters, Ad Sites, Blog's  etc to market the sites
These give you lots of hits but not visitors
I hardly know people to market to with the Invite System
Can you use the leads in your autoresponder, will it be ok?
Is there any restrictions what not to use as I need members urgently

Post by: ShudoggMarketing on February 04, 2009, 09:37:30 AM
Not sure how often/if this forum is checked anymore. I saw old 2005 and 2006 threads. Anyways, I am using the hosting feature. I am an experienced user, I know html, css, ect. I coded up a php script for a simple contact me form. It does not send. I also tried downloading some, it doesn't work. It has to be a restriction on what commands the server will execute. But the guy when I called said it should work.

Anyone know how I can add a php contact form to my site using GDIs hosting?

Hi ShudoggMarketing << cool name :)

As far as I know and have read up on using php scripts with your GDI hosting, GDI has not allowed the scripts to run on thier servers because of setting up and going into the actual server to respond to request done by the php script.

The other solution is to use a company that will handle the php scripts request for you and paste the code you get from them on any one of your websites, so any information put through your contact forms on your pages is handled by the company your php script is with, there are a lot of companies out there that offer php scrip handling on your behalf and free too.

    Good Luck With That.

Post by: DStarling on February 05, 2009, 05:22:50 AM
i was looking for this question on the forum but i could not find. i just started up again with gdi. i did it before a few months back, had no success using the swm system. i found the 3in7 team which i sponsored someone my 2nd day soo its going good soo far. well the question is if you sponsor 5 in 1 week after they reach the 7 day trial and they pay do you get the 100 dollar bonus without buying the dvds? if so i dont think that is right because i'm doing all my marketing on the internet. i dont want to have to purchase the dvds just to get that bonus.....thanks, ron
Here' the deal, straight from the horse's (GDI) mouth:

    1) Bonus payouts must be issued via PayPal.  The PayPal account must
list an email address created using your domain.  This is to ensure that
the account holder is receiving the bonus payment.

    2) In order to be eligible for the bonus contest, the DVDs must be
purchased the week of , or prior to the week you have the 5 signups.
Here is the exact statement from our website about bonus eligibility.

"You must have purchased at least ten (10) DVDs through your GDI account
and your account must be paid and in good standing. The DVD purchase
must have been made during the same week or prior to the week for which
you wish to qualify. The reason for this requirement is that we HIGHLY
recommend the DVD promotional method for recruiting new affiliates."

    3. Is there any kind of live chat or forum system specificly compatable with .ws domains?

Post by: Lori Sarty on March 09, 2009, 09:35:30 AM
This is kind of a silly question, but the domain name that you register should have to do with the concept of what we are marketing??  Right?

If I want to build a website for my home based business it will cost me another $10 per month, Right?  I don't know why I'm finding all of this so comfusing, I've worked doing administrative work for 10 years before I started driving truck.

I guess what I'm asking is that should your first website should be the GDI advertisement???

    Look forward to your replies.

For your domain, you could either use it to build your own website or just use it to redirect to a GDI system or GDI's own replicated sites. It costs $10/month for a domain. Hosting, email, and tools to build your website are all included. Hope this helps.

Your domain name and website can be about anything you want, it doesn't have to be anything to do with GDI :)  You still have a choice of many capture pages(freedom.ws) and such which will show potential signups the promotional video and testimonials etc.

    Title: Downline Question
Post by: Lamar F on March 10, 2009, 04:23:21 PM
    Hello Everyone  :D,

I'm new to GDI.  Can anyone tell me how long it take for a new member to show up in my downline once they have signed up with me?

Title: Recruiting, Website Builder and every other GDI doodad.
Post by: George Groesbeck on March 12, 2009, 07:01:26 AM
Hi everyone I'm fairly new to GDI. I've been in it for about 2 months now. I've been working hard telling my friends about GDI advertising and everything but they aren't willing to join until the see me making some money. Same thing with my parents, so to make more money I have to make a few bucks initially.

So...I'm turning to other things, recruiting online. You "gurus" out there how do you do it? I know that this works because I see all of you making money, no scam could ever be this big. So what is that secret sauce that you guys have cooked up that guarantees recruits? Come on, you know you want to share it.

Also I use one of the websites that GDI provides (http://yoogle.ws) but I would like to make my own. The thing is I have no clue whatsoever on how to use the website builder. I know how to write in it and choose a template, that's it. I've asked my upline but I get the feeling they only have a few downline members and they themselves aren't very successful with GDI, so their answers don't help all that much. So if anyone has any tips on how to use website builder ,that would be very much appreciated. Also anything you guys can tell me on how to make the actual website successful so that people are more inclined to buy I would be forever thankful.

My last question is this. You guys know the boxes where you type in your Name, Email, and Phone number? (if you go to my site (http://yoogle.ws) there is an example on the right)
Do I have access to the information that people type there? I would like to send people follow up emails aside from the ones that GDI sends them.

Thanks for everything guys and I hope that other newbies like me can benefit from your answers.

I have been in GDI since 2005. It is one of the great STANDARD NETWORK MARKETING PROGRAMS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO JOIN. GDI gives you the potential to make a very nice monthly income for a reasonable investment per month. Anyone in the marketing arena will tell you they wish they started promoting GDI when they first started online instead of waiting to join. Best program overall.

My question is this:  What sort of content is recommended for the Squeeze page?  I'm pretty sure I won't want to talk to much about GDI.

Is it usual to have some sort of newsletter offered there?

    Hi Mike
I am also new here.I have done a little research on squeeze pages.Hope this helps
The squeeze page is an intro to your prospective buyers. The perpose is to get their name and email address. So don't say to much ,just get their attention and put a text box for their name and email so when they push the button their name goes to your inbox and it lets them move into your site.

    I have several questions:

(before you read this I would like you guys to have some backgound knowledge about me. 1st of all I am new to Gdi I started about a month ago and I haven't made any money!!! I am a full-time college student and a part-time cashier at T.J. Maxx. I really haven't had time to learn alot about this program because I'm so bussy with school and work.So I have many questions so bare with me!!!)

    1. To be aligible to recieve my reward money I have to order 10 dvd's. do I have to order 10 dvd's every week or just one time only?
because it's saying that I have to order them the same week of the week or prior to the week I wish to qualify....

Lets say I get 10 paid affiliates to sign up for 6 weeks straight. Does that mean I have to order 10 dvd's every week for 6 weeks in order to recieve my reward money? because if that's true then that would be kind of expensive wouldn't it?

      2. In order to recieve the reward money I have to have a paypal account. Well what type of paypal account do I sign up for? Should I sign up for the business, the personal, or the premier?

      3. also what is the W-9 form for?

      4. I am also confused about commsions. are the commissons the same as the reward contest? or are the commisons something totally different?

      5. With the little time I have I try to learn much as I can about this site, but It kinda seems confusing. but don't get me wrong I really am trying. I REALLY LIKE THE FACT THAT YOUCN ORDER BUSINESS CARDS AND FLYLERS and I also made a youtube video trying to get people to sign up, which I wil later put on my website

if anyone can help I would love to hear what you have to say!!! thanks

How do I try and convince people to see the big picture>>> There's no way. They are hard headed and you can't talk to anyone about it!! They refuse to spend 10 dollars a month. I am getting fed up myself, but I guess a few extra bucks in my pocket every month is better than nothing. :'(

There is a man that I have been speaking with and he owns a company with over 3,000 affiliates selling his products!  He is looking into GDI because he wants each affiliate to have a website to sell his products.  The only problem is that he doesn't think that .ws sites do as well as .com sites.  What can I tell him to win him over as far as Search Engine Optimization and Google Rankings.  What big companies are using the .ws site right now, not purchased for use later, but right now.  Also, what are some search terms to input that will bring up a .ws site for a big known company.  He really needs this information to go ahead with the program GDI offers.  Can anyone please help me gather some "evidence" of GDI's presence on Google's search engine?  Thank you!!!

I really need some info by tonight or tomorrow.  Please help me! ???

Post by: LorvicYap on May 17, 2009, 07:56:06 AM
The Leaderboard bonus is given to those who referred and successfully activated their account after the 7 day free trial. In order to make everyone in your downline happy we have the option to move our referrals to our downline within 7 days during their free trial.

    Here is my question.

If have referred, let say 10 person, and i have move that 10 person to my 10 different downlines.. will I still be qualified to be in the Leaderboard and get the bonuses?

    Thanks!

it ask where you want it forwarded to?  For example, I want it forwarded
to a list building site, but it doesn't ask for that URL.  I guess I'm missing

Spam is unsolicited email (which is not advertising).  If you send an email to someone who did not request information from you, that is spam.  There are other ways to advertise your business without spamming.   For example:  You can create an lead capture page.  When someone places their contact information in the form, then your auto-repsonder sends out the emails on your behalf.  If you do not have an auto-responder, then send the prospect an email manually or place the phone call if the prospect provided their phone number.  There are other ways to advertise your business.  Be creative, just do not send out unsolicited email.  That's the quickest way to get shut down.

I will also mention to you, not to place leads into your invite system.  The invite system is not designed for leads, it is designed to place names and email addresses of people that you know into the system.  Hope this helps you!

Well I just joined GDI yesterday and I have been working really hard to get my business up and going. I am learning new and interesting ways to generate traffic to my website, however, I am now wondering if I should actually go ahead and use the site builder to edit my site.

I joined GDI strictly for the business potential not for owning my own domain. So basically what im trying to ask is if the default website given to me is enough to *attract* potential members?

Here's a straight answers to your questions:

    1. GDI program is excellente
    2. Reliability is excellente - I never experience any delay or trouble with my site or ofcourse earnings.
    3. Its likely to last forever - Imagine one of their clients is YAHOO and CISCO and much much more huge companys
    4. If I'm going to rate it from 1 (poor) to 10 (excellent) of their honesty then no doubt its 10.
    5. You paid either CHECKS, PAYPAL or Bank to Bank Fund Transfer.

If this is not enough, you can research more about GDI before you decide to join.

    Have a great day!!!

GDI services are definitely not just for promoting GDI.  That's what makes it such a great opportunity for us all.  They have a great domain/web hosting package that anyone can use, from small businesses to individuals to non profit organizations and more.  I have a few GDI websites and not all of them are for the purpose of promoting GDI.  Not only that, many people in my downline are the same, some don't want anything to do with the income opportunity, they just want a good web hosting package that doesn't cost an arm or a leg.

To give a short answer:  you use your GDI website for whatever you decide to use it for.  Global Domains International is a domain registration and web hosting company first, they just also happen to have an amazing income opportunity as well.  :)

Title: Re: Building the website. Question about a second language...
Post by: DPro on July 31, 2009, 07:05:36 AM
    Hi Robert,

There are several ways to add translation into your GDI website.
    1) add the google translate gadget on your webpage.  Your visitor just needs to choose the language they want to read in and the widget will instantly translate your webpage to the language of their choice
    Use the code below:

    Code:
    <script src="http://www.gmodules.com/ig/ifr?url=http://www.google.com/ig/modules/translatemypage.xml&up_source_language=en&w=160&h=60&title=&border=&output=js"></script>

    Read more here (http://translate.google.com/translate_tools?hl=en)

    2) you translate to the language of your choice and publish the source using the GDI site builder
See the video below on how to do that using the Google translator toolkit (http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/06/translating-worlds-information-with.html)

I have been doing some research and i came across http://www.website.ws/index.dhtml?sponsor=your_name, is this the capture page we use for advertising just the webhosting/webname service? And if it is then how will we be getting paid through this? I tested it out and i didn't see anything about a sponsor or a way to give credit. It even went as far to ask "How did you here about us?"

I wanted to know if i can put an icon, like US flag, and if ppl want to read in english they click that flag, if ppl want to read in franch click that flag, for example...

But how to do that as eveytime I insert a new page this apeears on original site...I mean it is added to the already existing pages...

Title: Cloaking your url signup page and so on?
Post by: Richard Mowry on August 12, 2009, 03:13:26 AM
I have heard so much about this. I read if you don't cloak your affiliate links, you may get stabbed in the back.
Link cloaking helps you hide your affiliate program link from your visitors. If it's too obvious that your link is an affiliate link, people might not click on it or they might go straight to the main url of the link. This means you will not receive a commission from these users even though you were the one who referred them. To solve this problem you can cloak your link; the link will point to the same url, but the status bar will not show that url to your visitors.
So can anyone shed some light on this . Should this be done?
    Thanks ahead of time.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this.

Is there a link we can use to just promote signing up for a website domain without the affiliate video?
This may sound strange, but I have a group of people I think might would sign up for the domain and then perhaps can be convinced to join the affiliate part.

    Hope that makes sense.

Title: How do I get my address with Replicated site content?
Post by: Rui Pereira on September 01, 2009, 03:51:48 PM
    Hi all!!!

I'm a newbie to all of this and have decided that for the time being the best solution for me would be to have a replicated site as the intention is to recruit affiliates and hopefully make my money that way.

I have noticed that some GDI members have their website address with one of the replicated site's content whereas my address is merely a link to the Replcated site of my choice. I have played around with the website builder but cannot find any of these there and even if I could, would I still have the main page and links to all other replicated sites on there? With forms, vides and other languages to choose from?

Please advise on whether anyone knows how to do this (baring in mind I know very little here!)  ;D

    Thanking you all in advance,

    Rui

    Hi Terra K,

I would be very careful on how I would promote anything on Twitter or any other social network.  You don't to be too pushy. I get a lot of spam on Twitter.   But, you are anxious to make sales.  I understand that.

I would develop a landing page describing the many merits of GDI.  You can develop a free Blog on Google.  This would be your landing page.  It will read something like www.meritsofGDI.blogspot.com or whatever you choose where I plugged in "meritsofGDI."  Whatever it is, this is your personal URL. As long as it's available, Google will let you have it.  Of course, you first have to have a Google account, but that's easy.  This is all easy... that's what makes it so great!

You don't have to write a ton of information, on your Blog.  Space it out... bit by bit.  Then, when you update your Blog, you post a note in Twitter that you just updated your blog.  This type of indirect marketing can work very well.  And, you don't fall prey to spamming on Twitter.

Let me know your thoughts or questions.

    Hope this Helps,

    Rick

Just a question from a newbie.  I see a lot of info on the members' site regarding the DVD.  Is it better to hand someone a DVD or give them a business card directing them to your personal website...especially on a limited budget?

No, I do not believe that you can.  If you want to pay for someone you will have to either give them the money directly, or buy a gift card for them.

Does GDI permit the use of their video marketing material to be used by the affilaites to post on sites outside the .ws site such as on YouTube? if so is there a directory of GDI videos to choose from or do you just copy them from the template sites GDI provides?

Does anyone know if GDI plans on making the back office available in other languages?  Chinese is what I am looking forward to the most, because I have friends and family there that do not speak or read English well... thanks

Has this question been answered?...I've been searching for the same answer.  Does the back office support the languages as shown on the video presentation? (Chinese, Japanese, Korean...etc.)

Being new to internet marketing, over the last 6 weeks I downloaded so much information and signed up for so many things I don't know if I am coming or going!  I have been spending the last 2 days cleaning up my harddrive, cancelling memberships and generally trying to get myself sorted out.

Now....can someone tell me what GDI is - other than the .ws domain- and what exactly I am promoting?

I thought this was a business in a box deal from my membership in the super affiliate club........now I don't have a clue!

I did ask you not to laugh didn't I :-\

    Hi Guys.

I been with GDI a long time but have not promoted GDI for a long time I still get my monthly check from GDI but it has shrunk.

Now I have a question… Re my down line affiliates.  Many of them have quit sorry to say some of them where good at requiting but gave up anyway.

This is the situation On my level one I had one of my best recruiter He has now quit
Below him in my level 2 his partner his wife have also quit
Then in my level 4 their son has also quit.

My question is what happens to their down lines I was under the expectation that there affiliates should have moved up but that has not happened can anyone explain why.

    Hope I explained that OK

    Kind regards

Hi everyone. I'm new in this business.

The first question is: Can me and my friends register from the same Visa card? Let's say me and my best friend (2 persons = 20$ , the same card) . Is this possible?

and the 2nd: :D I would like some proofs if you don't mind. Like pictures, videos with you and your earned money, cheque.

..... i though this was a business that revolved around making a website to sell the companys product?  all we have to do is to try to get people to purchase a domain for $10 a month???..... oh man .... i am so confused right now....
i keep hearing the word product so i though it meant actual items for sale.... can someone plz tell me what is this biz about?
The product here is the ws domain name you can build you're web pages to list and sell products that you choose but the product for GDI is internet domain/website  for those people that have an affiliate business that wants/needs their own domain/website for their business and referrals.

    Hi Katie, welcome.

    1) Yes you can change it, just add a new domain and then remove the old one.
    2) You are paid monthly as long as you have reached your threshold that you set (as low as $10) and provided GDI with the needed documentation.

    Good luck!

I've written an ebook in pdf format and I want to host it with my GDI account so that it has a web URL.

Does anybody know how to DO that?  I have practically given up trying.  Someone told me that I need to put it in the 'public_html folder' but I have no idea what that is or how to access it with Filezilla.

Hosting a pdf seems to be one of the great mysteries of all times - at least when it comes to explicit, step-by-step instructions as they simply don't appear to exist anywhere on earth or in cyberspace.

Hi Rusty, all you have to do is upload the file, you can do this via FTP (your filezilla - you just need the login details). For this case you need to choose the Basic Hosting through GDI for your domain name (not site builder). "WebSite.ws' Hosting Service. You can use your own application to build your site and we can host it for you."

    Hi Everyone!

I just joined GDI today and am trying out the sitebuilder.  I have other sites on Homestead, and while Homestead has a lot more features, I do like some things on GDI better.  However, I haven't been able to figure out how to include hyperlinks to other websites.  Can anyone help me with this or let me know if this is even possible?  Also, when trying to put a title or banner on the page it only lets me use a limited number of characters which is not enough in my opinion.  I couldn't use the title I originally wanted.  Is GDI going to be updating and improving their sitebuilder every so often?  If anyone can help with the hyperlink issue I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks so much![/size][/size][/size][/size]

     3. click on the text  tab
4 type in what you want you're item to say
5.right click to insert hyper link
6.at the bottom of the link is a place to paste in you're url
     7.paste and save
8.place the location you want you're url to be located.

Hi, yes the site builder is great and works quite easily once you get the hang of it.. here is the code

<a href="YOURWEBSITENAME">HERE PUT WHATEVER YOU WANT THE LINK TO SAY</a><br>

OK SO click on text when that pops up go to source at the bottom , copy and paste this code , center it if you like

and then go back to design and it should show, always check the link to make sure you have it right

    I hope this helped

A customer is someone who only wants the product for their personal or business use and does not want to participate in the affiliate program.

An affiliate is someone who wants to sell the product and/or refer others to generate income.

    Hope that helps you...

    Title: GDI Form Filler
    Post by: Tim_E1 on November 02, 2009, 01:52:21 PM
    Hello,
I was having a slight problem with the Form Filler and I was wondering what to do about it.

I processed my first ten leads without much problem although the box never popped up asking if I wanted to process more leads. It listed all ten as being sent out. So I closed everything out and restarted with the second ten. This box comes up this time so I click yes to process more and I hit send. I get a red flag showing about 5 being invalid email addresses. But it didn't show it as sending the other 5.

So I was afraid to do anything else fearing that I keep resending to the same people. I could have manually sent these things out in the time I have wasted with this thing. I know they say the list produces the money but it also produces headaches and stress level maxxing.

I guess I will work on something else for a while and come back to this later, or either send them out manually. I am still trying to figure out the GVO autoresponder so that isn't much help yet either.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any tips on this or suggestions on another way to send these out.

    Tim

As you may have read ICANN will be allowing URL's in almost every language. This will create the next

Would love to hear your thought.

Post by: Jayme Kennerknecht on December 31, 2009, 03:41:31 AM
What works best for the rest of the community to get people off of the trial period and on to the active.  unfortunately we do not get paid on trial memberships which is fine though I am finding it hard to get some of my PPC clients to become active members.  I have tried to e-mail the clients to let them know once they are active then I will start putting their down line under them though I have a few that are still in trial status and one that is active with no domains so I get no credit for that either.  If there is nothing I can do then please be honest I am happy with moving on though I do not want to give up on the people in total.  Thank you for your time.

    Title: Re: Questions about GDI
Post by: VParker on December 31, 2009, 07:06:43 AM
Hi Jayme.  This is a problem everyone encounters.  Ever hear the saying that you can lead a horse to water but not make it drink?  In my experience what you are doing works best.  Keep in touch with them.  Call them on the phone.  Your goal is to help them.  So, find out why they started the trial period.  Ask that outright.  "What caused you to sign up for the trial period?"  "What do you hope to achieve with building your own business?"  Dig deep!  I just want to make money is not really an answer, find out why they want to make money and then let them know that you are here to help.  Make sure they know that when they become active you will help them by placing people that sign up under you into THEIR downline.  People respond very well when they know you are there only to help.  Yes, you are going to earn money from them.  But you don't have to tell them that.  Just let them know that you are there FOR THEM.  Remember, ask and you shall receive.  So, don't be afraid to ask them to continue.  Let them know the benefits to them, i.e. I will place new members I acquire under you and your team to help you grow your business.  Make it all about benefits.

This is about the best you can do.  You also do have to know when to just break it off.  Don't spend a whole lot of time on people who want proof or say they need more time.  If they say they need to think about it, ask them what they will be thinking about.  Listen but don't respond to that.  Say something like, "I understand where your coming from.  What exactly caused you to sign up for the trial?"

The trick, for me, is to communicate with them.  By phone is best, email is second best.  Always speak about benefits, let them know what you will do for them, concentrate on what they want.  And, if they still go "Ummmm", "Well....", "I have to think about it more..." cut them loose.  OK, it was nice talking to you.  I have a bunch of other people to call so I'll leave you to your thoughts while I continue building my business.  Have a good day!  Click.  Sounds harsh, right?  But, some people will never decide.  You have to learn to pick up on when that is and say, bye bye.

I guess, in the end it's all about communication and benefits.  This is the best you can do.

    Good luck!  :)

Hi, James.  You do not need to purchase the DVD's to get paid as an affiliate.  However, you do need to read the documentation and fill out the proper forms.  In your backoffice on the menu to the left you will find "Documentation" a few links under "Account Info".  Be sure to read and fill in the proper documentation.

You do, however, need to buy DVD's in order to qualify for the referral bonuses.  For more information on how to qualify for bonuses take a look at https://www.website.ws/kvmlm2/contests.dhtml?language=english (https://www.website.ws/kvmlm2/contests.dhtml?language=english).

You do not have to purchase the dvd's but why would you not want all the advertising that you can possibly get about GDI except for the replicated sites. Granted I can see you're point of not wanting to spend a lot of money at first but you can consider them another investment in you're search for that"Dream" we all have of succeeding with an online venture.  The cheapest asset that you can have with GDI is you're own domain/website, where you can not only advertise GDI but other affiliate sites as well- for only $10 a month with more benefits than you can have just being an affiliate.

I hope I've some incite to you're question, feel free to contact me any time if you wish to ask more questions or feel free to post them here on the forum for more answers.

    Hey Guys,
Does anyone know what the current capabilities and limitations the Site-Builder has as opposed to other Domain-based businesses like Hostgator and GoDaddy?
e.g. Can you apply a 'Shopping Cart' with an embedded code on a .WS webpage?
Can you have your own designed flash banner?
How do you apply a Lead capture form?
How do you use your own designed template instead of one of the 150+ offered by GDI?

If someone can list what you can and can't apply to a .WS page it would be greatly appreciated.

In her website is she alowed to say that she works for GDI and have her site based off of GDI?
We are affiliates of GDI so if we are making money with them does that make us part of GDI and give us the ability to represent GDI on the website in order to get more traffic?

If not is there anyone that can tell me how we would be able to represent GDI in our website?

Hi I was just wondering if someone can please help me out with a question i cant seem to find the answer for, it would be much appreciated. When you sign up with GDI do you have to sign up using a (.ws) domain name or can you sign up with a (.com) domain name instead, and if this is allowed will you still be eligible for the affiliate progam. If you are not able to sign up with a (.com) instead of a (.ws) domain name, just say you decide you want to purchase a (.com) domain name AFTER joining GDI, is it true that you will pay an extra $10 a month on top of the $10 you are already paying which would make it $20 a month, and will (.com) domain name come with hosting as well.

I hope someone can help me with this question as i need to know for a project i am working on,
    Thank you.

I hope someone can help me with this question as i need to know for a project i am working on,
    Thank you.

    Dan Turner

We are the official .WS domain name registry.  We do have other extensions available, like .COM domains.  New members may register with a .COM domain, if the domain name is fully available.  Please note, there is an additional ANNUAL maintenance fee for registering a NON-.WS domain.  The AMF will vary for each extension.  For .COM domains, the AMF is $10 a year.  All AMF must be paid the same day the domain name is registered.  The first $10 MONTHLY fee will be secured once the free 7-day trial period has been completed (for new accounts).

A domain name can NOT be changed, once it has been registered.  If a member registers with a .WS domain and later wishes to have a .COM domain, they may simply login to their account, register a second domain, secured payment, including the AMF if it’s a .COM domain, and once the account shows 2 domains, they may request to cancel their original registered domain.

The MONTHLY $10 fee includes hosting, 10 email accounts per domain, SiteBuilder and the Invitation system.  The $10 MONTHLY fee is for every registered domain name, regardless of the extension.

To be active in the Affiliate program, all members must register at least one domain name.  The extension of the domain does not matter.

    Hi D_Ros!  :)

I'm not sure if this is allowed because this movie would be pulling off of the website.ws server.  If it is not I am assuming an admin will either strip it out or reply to this.  If it IS allowed here is the code to one of the movies:

    Code:
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="486" height="420" align="middle">
    <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" />
                <PARAM name="wmode" value="transparent">
    <param name="movie" value="http://website.ws/kvmlm2/player_02.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
    <embed src="http://website.ws/kvmlm2/player_02.swf" quality="high" wmode="transparent" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="486" height="420" name="player" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer" />
    </object>

You can change the background color by changing where it says bgcolor=

You can also go to YouTube and type in "Global Domains International".  Scroll down the list of videos and you can see where some people have uploaded some of the other movies.  Then just click on "Embed" and you can copy the code from there.

    Hope this helps!  :)

    Vincent Parker

P.S. I found this code by going to one of the Global Domains International websites and viewing the source code.  If you do not know how to do that just right click on the page and choose "View Source".  (I am on a PC using windows XP so, it might be a bit different on other machines.)

P.S.S. I am making the assumption it is OK to place these movies on your GDI website.  HOWEVER, if you are going to copy someone's work I would highly suggest you contact them first.  For instance, even though I gave you the code above you may want to write GDI support and ask if it is OK.  Even when taking code from YouTube, it would be wise to write the owner of that channel and ask if you can embed their video on your website.  Just to be safe.   ;D

I have a question about commissions, I know we receive 10% from monthly hosting/domain purchases by our downline, however I'm still left wondering the following question...

Do we receive commissions from DVD, business cards and other goodies sales?

If anyone could clear that up for me that would be great!  :)
