Title: WE are a Worldwide Community...
Post by: gdi on May 10, 2005, 11:30:49 AM
A few months ago during an interview with Chris Murch, owner of wsRADIO, he stated just as the eBay community has evolved NOW, more than ever, we have the opportunity to maximize our ability to *connect* the .WS Community via www.talk.ws.

Let's do all we can to put a WebSite in households throughout the world. While some will just want their own WebSite, many will also want to capitalize on profiting by sharing with others.

Let's Welcome New Members, their Prospects and show them the 'way'!

Please keep in mind you are among the 'Early Members' of a Community that will grow into the millions.

Thank you for the post Chip!

Yes... everyone please remember the different kinds of support you have at GDI, and please do your part to get the word out so your organizations have all the help and assistance they need to success in this wonderful opportunity.

1) Your sponsor
2) The talk.ws forum
3) The WS Internet Show, with host Chip Snyder on Sunday afternoons
4) Tuesday/Thursday opportunity conference calls via phone
5) Monday/Wednesday/Friday training calls via phone

If you are serious about building your GDI business, take part in as many of these activities as possible and make sure you instruct your organizations to do the same!

You can use this forum topic for introducing yourself and for getting to know other members.

Bram

Hi Everyone,

My business partner Stephanie Remers and I have been in GDI since late last year. We have slowly but steadily been building our business over the last several months.  We are in GDI for the long haul.  I am really excited to see this forum and am looking forward to all the new enahancements that are coming in the near future, especially the multilingual sites!!!  Now that will truly make us a worldwide community!   :D

I hope that this forum will become a meeting place for affiliates to share ideas and get to know each other.

Thanks!

Deb

Hi everybody, I'm glad to introduce myself : I'm coming from France and joined GDI 2 weeks ago only. It's wonderful this forum is now existing, so I'll learn from the older GDI's member. It's one of the best way toward the success! I have one suggestion : as you know, it's hard for non resident US people to attend the trainings on phone. I'm used to going every week to a conference call organized by an Australian traffic exchange program I'm a member of, and all is running through our computer. A small software has to be downloaded ("Magic Conference") and I connect to it at time very easily, my headset on. If GDI provided the newbie with that, it would be fantastic!

Good morning GDI friends!

This is my 1st post also and I just wanted to pop in and say "Hi" and introduce myself.
I live in Oregon and am fairly new at internet marketing, but I liked what I saw in GDI's
opportunity. My up-line are fantastic people...Carolyn, Linda, and Miller, who are always
eaching out to help, not only those in our group, but others just as well. Thanks guys .

This community sounds like a lively bunch with a lot of good ideas. I especially like Gisele's
comment about having the ability to access and participate in conference calls through our
computers. Perhaps the GDI management team is listening and will put that on their
agenda to look into?
So many successful companies are utilizing that tool.  ::)

You all have a great day wherever you are on the planet, and remember,"Your habits are
either the best of servants or the worst of masters." So, stay positive, keep working
hard and success will come.

Blessings to one and all!

Jayne

Post by: Michael Geter on May 24, 2005, 10:16:27 AM
Its true!  Just like Jayne said.  We ARE a lively group.  That's what's going to really promote GDI in the end you know?  You can't be all hum-buig about an opportunity that's supposed to be about "living happiliy ever after" basically.  Nobody will buy into it.  I think that's one of the high key factors in promoting this.  I've personally had one person (not joined yet but I'm working on him) tell me that everytime he HEARS me talking to another one of our co-workers about it his skepticism wains for a moment.  He used to not have a computer and then all of the sudden he's asked his mother for her old one and is planning on getting the internet.  I KNOW it won't be long!  I'm confident in that.  But thats the key.  Persistance and your jovialness regarging the opportunity.  But mostly persistance.  They're going to laugh at you, say you're crazy for joining a "pyramid scheme/scam" (yeah like the BBB supports scams... um how about NO!) lol
You just keep on going.  They'll see.  And when your business begins to flourish, you'll have some of those people ANYWAY only they'll have to start from the beginning when they could've gotten in with you in the start and made it.  Patience.

Thanks for comment Jayne.

::)  Hi, everyone!  Just wanted to introduce myself - I'm Shelley from the beautiful mountains of Colorado.  I've been with GDI for about 2 months now and am impressed not only with the product but those of you in this community who are willing to share your time, experience and knowledge!

I have a quick question:  I am wondering about going global...how will English speaking GDI members be able to access the new international language sites?  I hope this doesn't sound like a "blonde" question, but I would really like to market to those speaking in other languages, and I only speak a little bit of German and Italian.  How can we best utilize the new sites?  Any ideas?

Thanks for your response!

Shelley Dennis

Greetings all, due to the topic here I have to quote the title of a book mentioned in an article I read today in the paper.  With China and India coming more on board in the 21st century we are looking at....."THREE BILLION NEW CAPITALISTS".  I think this is a better than good place to be.

Feel free to email me or post regarding any and all ideas.

I am happy to be a member of GDI which is just in time to celebrate GDI's anniversary.  This is not only a money making business, but there is fun along the way with the neat contest and the moving of members to bring in even more money!

Thank you, GDI, for sharing this domain and hosting business with anyone who wants to make money which definitely is different from any other domain and hosting service that I know of!  I am in for the long haul and a minimum of the 12 month commitment and some!

Title: CALLING ALL SOUTH AFRICANS !
Post by: Eileen_C on June 06, 2005, 04:11:02 PM
I'm from beautiful Cape Town in South Africa ; i'm just feeling a bit isolated and would like to know how you're doing .

Admittedly, there are some disadvantages being so far removed from everyone. Not being able to attend live conferences and training sessions. Not being able to even to call my surveyed leads ; it will be too costly - at the moment emailing would have to suffice.

Another disadvantage is Paypal do not accommodate South Africa in terms of a payment method eg,
Bulkmailer etc.

Nevertheless , I'm not quitting. I'll hang in there , knowing this is an awesome opportunity. I just have to concentrate on what works and keep on going.

Any suggestions / solutions would
l be most welcome !

Howzi-i-i-i-t Eileen!

Rob here from the Friendly City of Port Elizabeth, and one of my GDI upline is in Cape Town!

Just thought I'd pop in a reply to let you know that you aren't totally alone here. I share in your frustrations - the time delay, telephone setback, and Paypal's such a drag - just about every online opportunity wants to pay you through them, or send you a cheque, which is also not really viable because of the time it takes and the hefty bank charges on our side. Still, glad to see your positive attitude.

I know that other countries also have problems with lack of Paypal access, so I guess all we can really do is contact support and request other options for commission payments, eg Stormpay, that are accessible to us.

How about promoting the opportunity locally, offline? My son's (private) school sent home a letter re fundraising, so I went and had a chat with the principle today about the opportunity. They had placed a full-page colour ad in one of the local free papers, and another long ad in the local weekend paper - a very expensive exercise, to say the least....and they don't have a website!

The idea is that the school registers a site to market themselves (a really significant cost saving) and markets the opportunity to the parents, thus generating a residusl income for themselves and offering the parents the opportunity to market to other small businesses, etc. It's a very young school and growing rapidly, so it has good potential. The principal was very receptive to the idea, and will advise the owner that I'll be contacting her. Oh, and in the same fundraising circular, the school is also offering itself as a venue for business seminars......

So... just keep your eyes and ears open for any opportunity that presents itself, and good luck with your efforts!

Thanks everyone - website  looks good Ben - have not tried to build mine yet!
One or two e mails are hidden so if anyone in the UK wants to be in touch please e mail me.
The movie links was something I had a problem with in another business and your need to get people to download a flashplayer - media is not good enough I don't think.
Thanks

Hope you are all well, thanks for the comments re my site, much appreciated  8)

Has anyone had similar problems to me when inviting contacts that use ntl as their ISP ? All of the mails I have sent out from my .ws email address get rejected by ntlworld, virgin also a problem but not so bad. It seems ntl may well have barred .ws extentions which is a shame as a lot of my contacts use NTL  >:(

Hello GDI Family!

My name is Fred Smart.  I just joined up yesterday from the greater Chicagoland area here in Illinois - the city of Evanston which is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan to be exact.

The vision I "see" for GDI is a community of individuals helping and serving one another to greater and greater levels of personal growth and development.

"How can I help and serve you?" is the only question that matters.

Peace and God Bless,

Fred Smart

Hi Tom,

One of the most important things to do with your sign up is to welcome them and encourage them to explore the back office.  This includes the forums, leaderboards, etc.  We are a global network and most people do not need to be convinced to stay once they have had a good look around.  I wish you much success.

Hello everyone in GDI,

How is everyone's business doing lately?

I was going thru the most recent posts and notice alot of the same questions.

How do I convince people to join my business?

Wrong answer you see we are not in the convincing mode when it comes to GDI.

The Prospect online has made a chose to locate you. Your job is to establish a solid relationship and build trust with this stranger.

Understand a home business is  not for everyone their is nothing wrong with working a regular 9-5 job some people

just are more comfortable with that.

Your job is to sort between the serious and the curious and interview these people for a position on your winning team.

What makes us all unique is that we made the choose with the help of good leaders and mentors to build a business

and a lifetime income.

So if your looking for a magic pill to solve a problem with bringing people into GDI.

Sometime all you have to is ask the people who are successful since they have a system which can be duplicated.

Take the bull by the horns and build your business one person at time and help them do the same.

To your Success,

Howie Martell

Hello from Maine,
I recently checked my downline and my first 7 day trial signup was from Iraq.Talk about a worldwide community.

I was wondering what the more experienced people would do to help convince someone to join as  a member after the 7 day trial period has ended

Tom Hopkins

Hello Tom,
congratulations for your new sign-up from Iraq.
Infact we are worldwide community and as posted from another fellow that we have to welcome all new member first and then guide them how they can follow you.
At the same time advice all of your downline that they should join GDI forum for the latest news and guidance from all GDI family.

Hello all:
I tried to modify a post of mine. I got a msg that stated i was not allowed. >:(
Question
How long do u have 2 b a member of this forum. Before u can modify a post?
or do u have to execute a certain number of posts?
Thanks
Jim
Hi Jim,
You are still under "Moderated" mode.  After 50 posts, that is lifted and then you will be able to edit them.
Take care.

In the meantime, if you have any queries about:
1)using the GDI site builder

3)leads/ traffic generation

Please read the related forum topics for answers. They are usually there.
However if you need me to help you personally, you can PM me.

If talking about the GDI opportunity alone, I'd say probably say, "The ability to allow anyone from any background to break into online business and be able to work from home easily and inexpensively."  Even better though if you have a system to work with IMO.

To Your Continued Success,

Hey Bill,

There are so many ways to answer this question, but maybe you out to take a different approach than the usual run of the mill answer.  Let your prospect know how this opportunity is going to change their life and how it is going to solve some of their problems.  In order to do this you must find out what they want out of a business like this. Relationship building is the most important aspect of building your business.  It's not the opportunity that will sell them on the business, it's the way it will change their life that will ultimately sell them on the business!

Good Luck!

Title: Getting started
Post by: ColinHeywood on March 27, 2009, 03:31:53 AM
Hi everyone out there. My name is Colin and I live in Western Australia.  Having joined very recently and with only 1 in my downline I decided to have a look round the comments. One of the first things that struck me was the apparent imbalance between the success story comments and the ' it's a hard nut to crack - HELP ! ' remarks.  This is ground floor stuff we're talking about here, it's going to take a lot of perserverance and faith in the product to make a go of it. This is a numbers game and you'll sort through heaps of people till you find some good partners to really fire up a team. Have some long term vision, guys like Richard Branson, Donald Trump and the like were not overnight successes. They had to tell loads of people how great their product was until anyone believed them - then it was !  I had a real laugh when I compared the Australian and British comments about a sceptical market, they sounded word for word almost the same, so maybe we're not so different after all.  If we in the land of OZ think it's tough what about the pioneers in other countries who are making a go of it in another language !  I'll bet a heap of you out there have trouble even turning a computer on let alone coping with all these new ideas and tools that are being thrust upon us - I know I do. However for the technology shy there may be an answer. Presuming you joined because you think it is a brilliant idea, maybe you should look a bit closer to home than trying to get to sophisticated with messaging etc.  Try the personal networking approach.  If your friends and family have any respect for you they will allow you to use their computer to demonstrate what you are doing and watch the video - WITH YOU.  They might not be interested personally but you've just shown someone something they've never seen before. Do you think they might remember it for a while ?  Do you think they might mention it in conversation to someone you don't know or better still show off their prowess on a computer by showing your site for you ?  Congratulations you have started networking - first and most basis step to growing your business.  So get out there and DEMONSTRATE your new business to people who care about you, ask for their help to get started.  Now for the big bonus, sooner or later someone will appear magically within your group with skills to compliment your own. Yes there is someone out there who understands computers and would love to have their ego stroked when asked for help.  Keep motivated. Colin.

Title: The beginning in GDI seems to be hard... but safe
Post by: Mitica Stoica on January 09, 2010, 05:22:00 PM
Hello!

My name is Stoica Mitica living in Romania on the bank of Black Sea. One month ago I have created my website and I have started my marketing steps
as well. I have noticed that Romanians are very sceptically about joining GDI as many of them have been mislead on the internet to unsuccessful homework.
My opinion is that GDI is a live opportunity and it will work for real. The patience and daily work is going to grow your home business slowly but for sure...

All the best and a Happy New Year 2010 with GDI!

Hi my name is Nicole,
Could you give me a few pointers on how to get started?

Title: Re: WE are a Worldwide Community...
Post by: VParker on January 11, 2010, 09:57:48 AM
Hi Nicole,

First off, welcome to GDI and the GDI forums!  :)

So, pointers on how to get started.  First, be sure to attend the GDI webinars.  One of the first steps to wealth is to hang out with wealthy people.  You will get some great advice, knowledge and pointers to help your business and learn how others are doing the same.

Second, do what you are doing now.  Read the forums.  :)  You will find a lot of questions and answers in the forums.  Read through it and start participating.  You'll meet some great people in the process and in time be able to help others just the same.

Also, be sure to read the GDI wealth guide.  You can find it at https://www.website.ws/home/wealthguide (https://www.website.ws/home/wealthguide).

Finally, not many people get the training they need to know really how to market and talk to people.  You wouldn't expect a person with no experience to do very good at rebuilding cars, so the same goes with growing an internet business.  Go out and find leaders in the industry.  Talk to your upline, find educational materials, buy some books from your local bookstore or rent them from your local library.  Make it a daily habit to increase your knowledge on both marketing and personal development.  After all, the more you know, the more value you have and the more people will want to be around you and do what you are doing (as in be members of GDI).

Last but not least, take daily consistent action.  Don't worry about perfection right off, that's where your constant learning will play a part.  The big secret, the magical pill, the magic lamp and the magician's wand is right there.  Daily consistent action.  Pick what you want to do (classifieds, forums, articles, banners, belly to belly marketing, ppc, emails...the list goes on) and do it every single day.  The actions you do today will probably not pay off for days, weeks and even months.  Just know that every action you take is one more brick in your internet marketing mansion.  So get out there and take some action!  :)

Hope this helped form a beginning point for you.  If you keep these few things in mind you will do great.  :)

That is brilliant Vincent and so true ...not as easy at it sounds though is it?LOL.Just one question Vincent  do you do all those things consistently and every day yourself.( No offense) very very good advice  thank you  I'll pick myself up brush myself down and start all over again. :D

Title: Re: WE are a Worldwide Community...
Post by: VParker on June 08, 2010, 04:08:56 PM
Hi P_Gringel!  Hehe, no offense taken at all!

No no, I definitely do not use all of those marketing methods.  And I definitely would not recommend trying.  Because, the more marketing methods you try to do each day, the less you will be able to accomplish in each.

What I suggest is picking one and MAYBE two marketing methods that you would want to do.  And then FOCUS on that one or if you feel you have time two.  But going any further than that you risk diluting what you are doing.

Now, once you master a technique it might only take you an hour or so to accomplish.  So, in time you can add more.  But the trick is to master a marketing method by doing it consistently every day (and also getting some training if need be).

So, let's say a team member of yours wants to do classified ads.  Great!  They work quite well and I know several people who have built very nice incomes using only this one method.  But here is what I would suggest they do.  Stick to classifieds for at least a few months and do nothing else.

And I know, that's hard to do because everyone wants results NOW.  But, results take time.  And it's very hard to get any kind of results without that focused daily action.

I hope this made more sense.  :)

Vincent Parker
