Hi,

I am curious as to what marketing strategies you have tried thus far? Have you discussed your goals with your upline sponsor?

All my best,

K, I think if you take a look in the "marketing" forum, you might get some good ideas, if you're looking to try new things or just polish up the things you're already trying.  There are some really good conversations going on in that forum right now!!

Sorry to hear you're not having a lot of luck, but do hang in there.  Keep at whatever you're doing, if you haven't been doing those things for very long, as being persistent is key.  However, personally, I like to try out new strategies along with the ones that I've tried that have worked.  Reading here in the forums helps me a lot, because sometimes I'm being persistent and trying really hard, and I still don't feel like I'm getting the results I want... but then I'll read a really inspiring post from someone here, or I'll get a really great idea from something someone else has posted, and then I'm off and running with tons of ideas!

Keep your chin up.  We all get discouraged.  The key is to keep on keeping on and the discouraging feeling will pass!

I chose ”Email” – I used an AutoResponder and sign 1 -2  up every week…   The best is to speak with people, but I live in Spain ( Torre del Mar ) and nobody can understand English, so right now I only can used Email – But soon, very soon it come in Spanish, I just waiting – it like Christmas….. ;D

Phone calls were not an option on the pole.
I put No idea too, I've used several things but don't know which pulls them in and which don't. No way to tell. :-\

With a tiny bit of editing of a previous post in Marketing, so it's basically "re-posted" I've developed a personalized cover letter for prospecting businesses in your local area that do not have websites...you'd be suprised how many there are!

                                         your address

Please allow me to introduce this company to your organization. GDI is debt free and is rated #37 on Inc. 500's list of America's fastest growing companies.

They are the only company that has the ability to market dot.ws domain names. There are no geographical or income limits with GDI.

Just like the toll free 800 numbers have been used up; and then came
888, 877, etc., dot.com is all but used up. My selected name was taken at dot.com, but it was available at dot.ws, and now I own it for life!

If you would like your own domain name and it is unavailable at dot.com, check out dot.ws.

With GDI you get your domain name, website with hosting and 10 email addresses to stay organized. Advertise your business, set up shop, host your hobby or create a family website. PLUS……earn a super income sharing it with others. The sky's the limit!!!

All of this for only $10.00 a month!

Hi. Thanks for your advice. I do try to check up on the forums pretty often. Well, I joined at the beginning of June, so it's been 2 months now and still - nothing. I do still have hope but it can be very frustrating - especially when certian members of my family are waiting to see the positive results - which haven't came yet.

I just can't understand why most people get a few signups in their first week just using something simple as email marketing, when I'm doing that and more for 2 months and no luck. Maybe it will start to pick up hopefully. Meanwhile, I'm especially open to any suggestions.

Thanks & I wish you success!  :)

Title: Yay! I got my 20,000 leads!
Post by: ChadF on September 25, 2005, 07:42:02 PM
Hey everyone, I just ordered and received 20,000 fresh new leads of people who, within the past month, submitted their information and are requesting more info on a home based business, preferably marketing. I am in the process of not only inviting them all to GDI but will also mail postcards to them and will make phone calls to those who watch the video.

I will make replies to this post on as time goes on and the success I will hopefully achieve from doing this. Has anyone else had success with huge bulk lead packages like this?

Title: Tv Commercial

Everyday I see a commercial on tv about getting into a home based business. You go to the the website, fill out their forms, and they sell your information to numerous home business companies. My question is why can't or doesn't GDI do the same thing except make the commercial specific to GDI and then sell us those leads instead of the junk leads they sell us now? I know I would buy those leads in a heartbeat and I'm sure everybody else here would to!

Not everyone... I would never buy Leads... I would just add the "As seen on TV" slogan to my own Lead Capture Systems...
Why pay someone to do someting you can do better yourself???

Hi,

I use splash pages and free advertising systems to generate free leads.

The advantages of this method are numerous and I get a steady stream of 2 to 3 people signing up for my lists per day. I then use these people to bring me more fresh leads. Some of the advantages are that the leads are:

1] Fresh
2] Not tampered with
3] Very targeted
4] Virtualy cost-free

If anyone is interested in how I do this, I will be happy to send you some info on the methods that I follow.

Keep it up. Don't lose hope.

This is what I have been doing that is working, and making me additional income.

I use a free gateway program offer to bring in new leads.  I get them in my free program, I build a relationship, then I tell them about GDI.  I have them duplicate my process with each lead or sign up by setting up my GDI website in which they can do the same thing.  I've gotten pretty good results, and I am also building another income stream in addition to GDI from doing it this way.    If you haven't used your domain for a website yet, this would be a great way to utilize it to make money.

I use ad tracking to show me what works and what doesn't.  From that I was surprised to find that over 90% of my signups come from Google Adwords.  Google is quite simply awesome!

Link exchanges are also good, but I avoid lead companies.  (lead companies dig up  "bottom of the barrel" type people and then charge you through the nose for the contact info.)

However, I don't send my prospects to the GDI site.  So many thousands of other people use that exact same site.  Instead I send them to a generic but catchy lead capture page that builds a relationship with them first.  My page tells the prospect WHY  it will be different with me and HOW they will succeed with me.

You could build a site such as this yourself, but I use a free site with a built in autoresponder and just forward my .ws site to that instead.

All the best,
Jason

What is a lead capture page? Does anyone have an example? I have signed up 5 people..got my first bonus but I feel like I have hit a plateau. I keep getting prospects but no biters. Any suggestions?

Title: Re: Lead Generation

A lead capture page is simply a short webpage that asks for a person's name and email address in exchange for offering more info.

The name and email is then entered into an autoresponder email system that send messages regularly to the lead.  This repeat contact builds a relationship and converts leads into members at a much higher rate than  a one-time exposure ever could.

See You On The Leaderboard!

I have not had much success with purchased leads and this seems to be the pattern for the people that I know who have purchased leads. However, I am open to suggestions - especialy if these are based on proven results. I prefer to generate my own leads.

You should attend the GDI conference calls online on tuesday and thursdays. They have tips on marketing and people can ask questions. Its all done online.

GDI Is a realationship business like any business. You may try to find a message board that you have knowledge in and join. Then read and respond to question that you can answer and put in your GDI email address or your website if its allowed. Just make sure you read the boards rules.

Another way is to get some GDI business cards and mail them with your bills.

Just takes time and work at it each day.

GDI, sees that most members are struggling to get leads, based on their member website links. Many are overwhelmed when they first come to my site. Most people wll not take the time to view a  7 minute movie, then it depends how slow their computer is for downloading. GDI has to much information. They need a simple 3 step capture page FREE to GDI members. Teams are having to create their own. They should not have too. This is my 3rd time back trying GDI. Hopefully this time it will payout! I too want to earn a residual income for only $10 a month.

GDI does have several simple lead capture sites that you can use. If someone will not spend 7 minutes getting the information they will not join. Some people choose to create their own capture sites for several reasons but it isn't required. 3rd time back?  Just think if you had never left and just kept talking to people - where would you be? Just food for thought.

Getting leads for your business is the key to success. Its best when you create leads for yourself.
Some folks in the industry use different type of methods.

The follow up is the key. Even a quick phone call. Just to let them know you are
a real person.

In this business its about building relationships.

I use pop-unders, free classified sites, Traffic Swarm and word of mouth. I am getting 2-3 leads per day. They are automatically loaded into an auto-responder series and contacted for at least a year or until they opt out. I have six people in my downline so far and one guy has four domains! I am in this for the long haul and will not give up until it replaces my full time income! I think people get discouraged too easily and before they ever get a chance to see their business blossom they give up. I speak from experience on this point and I can assure you ALL BUSINESSES TAKE TIME TO DEVELOP! All the get rich quick hype online causes too many people to jump ship very early. I am reminded of the guy who started GDI and in four months was making $4500 plus a month! Just think. If everyone in your downline recruited just ONE person that would be another $4500 a month in income!

Be careful...you are not to place leads into the invite system.  The invite system is designed for people you personally know, people you just met and are expecting an email from you....etc.

The only way to do what you require is to purchase an autoresponder, load up a few letters/emails and then place your leads into that system.  However, most autoresponsders do not allow mass mailings either.

If you are working leads, I suggest you work the phones and then let those individuals whom are interested in receiving emails from you, then place their name into the system.  That is it.

In working with Marvin and his mentoring program, I have been learning ways to increase my business, and have qualified leads come to me, instead of searching through the masses of people who AREN'T interested.  In the past 5 days using the techniques that I learned through Marvin's mentoring program, I have generated 7 qualified leads.  And I am not out pounding the streets, bothering friends and family, or paying for lead lists and calling hundreds of people.

THEY ARE COMEING TO ME!!!

This is great, thanks Marvin

KEEP SMILING

I have purchased leads through the GDI back-office and recently purchased 2,000 leads through another company. The conclusion I have come to from both of these avenues is that "PURCHASING LEADS IS A WASTE OF MONEY".  For 14 days now a series of emails are being sent daily to the 2,000 leads I purchased.  Only 1 click-through so far.  This will continue for 45 days.  I'll let you know what the results are when its' finished.

I actually have better results from one of the major traffic generaing sites, where I simply buy credits (I don't want to set around clicking to websites to build up credits) and offer a free viral eBook containing my site links.  I attempt to capture the visitors name on my site, but if not I allow them to download the eBook with my links in it, plus they can give the eBook away for free too.

Hello ,

yes , I have been using purchased leads now for 3 months - the facts are self evident . I send out the 100 each day thru the GDI Invite System and get 2 people looking at the GDI movie on average each day , this has not varied over the 3 months - for those wanting a quick fix then this may not be for you , because out of the 60 who look at the movie each month only one will join - its a numbers game but one I am happy to play as it only takes me 5 minutes each day to send to 100 emails and as I am a great believer in the " Power of One " - its only a matter of time before my downline just grows and grows !

After 3 months I have a Downline of 11 , which means after just 3 months I am ahead of the Power of One Method which says I should only have 7 - Play the numbers and build day after day - just look at the leaders Board and realise that for the 10's on Thousands in GDI only a few ever sign up 5 in a week - it takes time !

i have been useing an autoresponer for 3 to 4 months now and not ever 1, prospect has taken a bit, a few  look at the movie but not interested, the problem by mouth, is they do not leave there phone # so that you can call, so your only ways of contact is email or the invite system, and even on the invite system the don't reply, not 1 flash. i just don't know what the kids of this world want these days. well i am just the new kid on the block and want to say hi to everyone, in GDI, so HI everyone, maybe someday i will meet some of you guys. thanks and have a great day Dorie Boeye

>>Hi this is Lindy from OZ.
Just wondering if anyone has purchased leads before and how does it work.
Please need help.<<

Lindy,

We purchase leads on a monthly membership of about$20 a month.  We have been very careful with them though.
We don't want to get accused of Spam.  SO we put them in a campaign, and send a cleaning letter. That's an email
asking if they are still interested in a home based business.  We learned this from GDI made Easy.  When they open the email, the first thing they see is: "This
is not from an auto responder,  Please hit "reply" and "send" so we will know that you recieved it."

Many will do that for you, and then you won't be spaming once you have received their reply.

The rest of the email talks about their request for a home based business.  You are asking their permission to send them
more information.  We don't say anything about GDI until they respond to us first.  They MUST reply first.  Then we can
send them a polite email with a link to our 7 min. movie.  It's better to do this through an auto responder.

We also include a link or "remove" request at the bottom of the email.  Remember.  Do not mention GDI until you have been
given permission to email them with more information about your home based, internet business.

You can buy leads from GDI, but they cost more.

There is a better way though.  We do this more than leads, now.  Use "Safe Lists"
IM us and we will head you in the right direction to join lists.  Otherwise you Google "Safe Lists"  There are thousands out there.

Hi all,
I would like to set up a lead generation page within GDI.

I have taken the hosting option.

I would like to set up a automated form to collect name, email and phone number. I would prefer to use a PHP script which I can locate on another sever.

So what I need to know is how or where can I get the PHP script? How do I set it up the script on another web site server? How do I code the GDI site to read the PHP script from another site?

I have search the GDI forum and can not find the answers to my questions.

Thanks in advance.

i have been useing an autoresponer for 3 to 4 months now and not ever 1, prospect has taken a bit, a few look at the movie but not interested, the problem by mouth, is they do not leave there phone # so that you can call, so your only ways of contact is email or the invite system, and even on the invite system the don't reply, not 1 flash. i just don't know what the kids of this world want these days. well i am just the new kid on the block and want to say hi to everyone, in GDI, so HI everyone, maybe someday i will meet some of you guys. thanks and have a great day Dorie Boeye

Since you use autoresponder, you should create a lead capture
page and start generating leads.
Create a lead capture page where you will offer something
of value (a good ebook, software etc) for free in exchange
for people's name and email address.
Then start advertising it on traffic exchange programs,
safe lists, forums, ezines etc.

You will start generating leads in no time.

All you have to do is to follow up with them
until they become your GDI affiliates or opt out.

Hi, I've only just joined GDI last week, but have been in MLM for a little while! I'm not sure what the strike rate is with the GDI flyers, but from my experience it's a bad waste of a Sunday morning. I'd get 2-3 replies per 1,000 flyers!
I'm using a lead generation system now to capture my own leads and will modify it for GDI. The principle is to attract people to optin with the offer of a free wealth creation audio, once there in my system they're sent a series of emails about how MLM can help them acheive their goals etc. This happens before they see the company presentation, so when they get to see the presentation they are already sold on MLM. And the longer they stay in your system the better chance they have of signing. He who has the biggest database wins in this day and age! The biggest mistake you can make is to not keep people in a marketing funnel, when you make your first contact with some people it may simply be bad timing. So you need a system to keep them in the loop until it is the right time! From reading some posts it seems people are frustrated that others we PUSH our business on don't see what we see. The simple truth is that only 2-3% of people are looking for an opportunity like GDI. And most people who are looking for a business are doing their research on the internet.
Here is a short list of tactics to attract people.

1. Email signature.   If you get many jokes via email like most of us, you can use a signature at the bottom. If it's a good joke it can be sent to many 1,000's of people and peopel will be to lazy to delete your signature.
For mine I use   PS looking for ways to create a wealth mindset? Listen to xxxxxxx here at xxxxxxx

2. Ebay.   I auction a MLM digital product I have a license for and then send them an email with my links. Many people already sold on MLM go to Ebay every day in search of tools that will help them. What I'm looking for is someone who maybe in between companies and may be looking again.

3. Email for people you know. I've seen a few but the one I like to use or some thing like it goes like this.
Dear................,
Hi! Just a note to let you know that I'm expanding my business, and I was wondering if you could help

me. I'm looking for a bright, friendly, ambitious person who is looking for some extra income, or maybe looking for a

career change.
Do you know anyone like that?
We market top level domain names that have excellent availability, directly to consumers like you and me, and the

company pays us to find and train others to do the same thing. We're like reps for them except we own our own

business.
If you know anyone or would like to try the product yourself, you can watch a presentation here at www.yoursite.ws,
or give me a call at 321-xxx-xxx and I'll fill you in.
Before doing this business I'd looked at many online businesses to earn some extra income.
With this business I get to earn some money now and build for the future.

Regards...................

You can even use a variation of this  too, if you have boughleads and have email add's for them.

I have done about 2200 invites on several past months and only 11 even opened the e-mail.  I had no way to call them because they are working varied shift or spent with family times or annoyed during meal times.  Leads came from several lead companies I see not worthy.  I gave my business cards to the people in person.  They said "oh, sucks, you are scammer".  I tried to convict them if they want home business, period.  They threw my GDI business cards away. Hi Ann,

Personally I wouldn't want to promote to people that I know first for the reasons that you mentioned in your post.
Quote
They have never read e-books in their computers I have a hosting server with several informed messages.

The best way to get sign ups is to create a webpage with a form, as mentioned in some of the posts below.
The purpose of the form is get the emails of the people who visits your webpage.
Give them a reason to fill in the form, for example:

Fill in your firstname and email to find out how I make 4 figure income monthly

=>Get creative with the headline on the form, the more you trigger the visitor's emotions, the more likely he/she will give you their email.
Upon submission of the email, you can either redirect them to the GDI opportunity page or some useful articles about making money online with your GDI link.

Let me know if you need help integrating a form on your site.

Ann,

You should target other network marketers. Create a lead capture
page where you will give them something of value for free
in exchange for their name and email address.
Start advertising in safe lists and traffic exchanges,
and if you can afford once in a while, buy a solo ad in ezine.

I assure you that you will see a big difference!

None of the above.  I have been part of MLM and network marketing for about 5 years now and I have used all of those methods without much luck.  The people I sponsored dropped off because they couldn't duplicate Me.

There is hope though.  I now use funded proposals and give away free systems to the leads that I generate online.  I don't cold call, or chase leads.  I offer services and advice and people chase me down now for help.

I use an auto responder system that helps me monetize even the people who say no to me and GDI and can now say that I put more money in my account then I spend.  Not everyone in MLM can do that.  It took sometime to set up but now that it's going I can let the sales letters and emails do the work for me.

Not everyone will join GDI but if they are serious about making money on the web or from home they will always need information.  Give them what they want and promote your business on the back end.  They will follow your leadership and if you show value to them they will want to join you no matter what business you're in.

Yes, you are right, Kenny.
Using attraction marketing is more effective.
When you use funded proposals and give away free systems, people are naturally curios and want to learn more.
So it really makes sense to promote this business in the backend.

I generate targetted leads from the "make money online", "work from home" and "mlm opportunity"seekers niches.
What I do is I read articles from ezinearticles.com on those categories, pull out some ideas from there and write a short report.
The short report will have a URL to my splash page coded with an autoresponder.

I distribute the report to as many people as possible (both online and offline).
More then 80% of people will optin at the splash page to get more information because it's free.
From then on the autoresponder will follow up with them automatically.

I offer multiple opportunities in addition to GDI, this caters to everybody's need and pays me too!

Hello everyone,

Lead Generation this is a good topic to cover.

I can tell you with the lead generation system me and my leaders use it always us to qualify and talk to the right type of prospect.

The system I use is has help create almost 1000 network marketing leads in which to contact.

Keys to successful business and lead generation is to followup and ask questions to qualify these networkers as serious or just curious.

Other ways to create leads is to ask for referrals and come up with a nice 1 or two sentence mission statement about what you provide any one who wants to help others earn money from home.

Discussion forums are other great places to meet like minded people and chat rooms.

I use a mix of different lead generation methods, but I don't send them to my GDI page. I use a lead capture page or I use a site called hits2u.

Adwords, newsletter marketing (ezine solo ads), articles and blogs are all great ways but they are all very different.

It's good to get comfortable with 2 to 3 lead generation methods that work well for you and keep on doing them.

Track what works and what doesn't work best for you.

If you are promoting online, just follow the steps here to get leads :
1) sign up for an autoresponder program
2) create a campaign with emails or freebies about GDI/home business
3) copy and paste the form code on your GDI page
4) submit this page to social bookmarking sites like stumble upon or delicious
5) promote this page thru traffic exchanges and safelists
6) add this page to directories and classified sites

This is the very basic.
To power up your promotion, then you need to create squidoo lens, hubpages, a blog and write regular articles.
When done right and consistently, there is potential to get even 500 visitors everyday.

If you want faster method (usually short term), try pay per click.
However be careful as the advertisement cost can easily cost you hundreds of dollars per day.

DPro, don't you find that your downline thinks thats too much work?

From my own experience, thats the kind of respose I typically got.

I stopped focusing on recruiting for over a year to try and solve the duplication mystery.

I looked at it from an angle of the typical internet surfer who love watching YouTube videos

Thats in the millions.

Dont you agree that if all gdi affiliates collaborated on an idea that we could all benefit from - that would be a better use of time?

Seriously, people dont want to pay significantly more money than the business itself to make GDI work.

After all, it was supposed to work on its own   :'(

Keep trying, Remember this, you will never know how close you were to success if you give up. try different things, If you keep doing what you are doing, you will keep getting what you are getting. So the lesson there is, if you are doing something that works, keep doing it, if not, change what you are doing until you find what works for you, but remember one thing very important, you must give it your most agressive try at everything you do and not make excuses about why you can't do something. One more important thing to remember, if you think you can do something or if you think you can't do something, your right. Think about that for a minute and take charge of your future, don't give up, give your business your all, take time, make time, weather you have money or not, you can make it work. pull tabs work, leave cards everywhere, post signs at all posting sites at stores and community centers, be creative, just be legal but aggressive :) Need a boost in motivation or just some idea's feel free to send me a message, I am new to GDI with a highley motivated sponsor that is a top GDI team. We all can make it with the right direction. Good luck, see you at the top.
Michael.
