Title: What are the basic things to do to be successful?
Post by: Mahamed Daud on July 27, 2006, 12:19:07 AM
Hi, I'm already in the business for seven months. I have seen several websites like GDI Made Easy and 411 Wealth that promote the business. (Sorry, got to mention the names).

The websites are very impressive but I am worried because I don't know how to create a website like that.

So, without having such a sofisticated website, or may be not even having one, what can we do to be successful?

Mahamed

You need to take a look at websites that HELP others to be successful an emulate them. Never ever copy them but look at the navigation, content etc and make your site better.

DO NOT try to sell the product  or the opportunity to people because nobody wants to be sold anything, they want to BUY it and that means helping them make the desicion to buy themselves.

You need to develope your website one page at a time. I know you want to do it quickly we all do but slowely is best unless you want to farm it out to a freelancer at elance or sriptlance.

Remember.

Help others and you in turn will be helped.

I have a website like that, check my profile. It replicates, which means it will input your GDI ID , name, etc. so that when you promote it brings people into your downline =)

If you have any questions let me know.

 Hi Muhamed,
I understand ,But you can just play around with building a web siite start with just one page and you will learn as you go . You can build an effective website, the thing is to just get started not many of us can build a website as sophisticated as 411.                                                Much Success

What ever you do, you need to make it duplicatable.  If you start building websites for your downline, they don't learn how and can't teach their downline.  So I like the idea of giving a simple tutorial and lettling them use it to build a simple website.

As an example, I was struggling for months trying to build a site and then this week, I found an emal from my sponsor that I hadn't read (shame on me).  In it he gave a URL to a simple tutorial that he put together and lo and behold in the last 2 days, I built my website.  It has more than one page, some under construction, but I am pleased and excited again about GDI.

While you are having trouble with your website, you can still advertise the GDI business, using capture pages.  You may also check other business opp. programs that incorporate GDI into their own business model.  There are probably more than three of them.  I use a couple of them myself.  They are free to use, because you are already a GDI member, you just put in your ID.  They will give you an entire website, just upload it to your GDI host with FTP & then you've got a pro site for free, & you didn't even build it.   Then you promote that website or their lead capture pages, & people like what they see, and also sign up for GDI, and whatever other programs that might be there.  You can PM me for more info.

Title: Questions?
Post by: DSavella on March 24, 2007, 12:34:00 AM
Aloha!

I have a few questions about what to do when you have new members on your downline.

-Do I need to contact a member who is a prospect and a member who is in a trial period?
-What kind of information do I provide them with?

-What are better ways of promoting my GDI business?

Thanks,

Darcie Savella

Title: losing faith
Post by: J_Da Silva on April 15, 2007, 01:38:28 PM
I have just started GDI I guess... been a few days. Still in my trial. I feel a little unguided as my topline doesn't reply to emails. I feel a little abandonned and I am losing faith.. even though i really DO NOT want to give up. I almost wish to be a part of someone elses downline just so i have a little bit of support.

I also emailed out about 50 emails to friends and none of which have been successful.

if anyone could help I would feel a little better

Someone is listening.

Your frustration is understandable and I invite you to give this opportuntiy a "REAL TRY", that means staying at it for a minimum of 90 days and doing those things that produce activity for you.

If you need help keep checking out info you will find here at the Forum.  Many of your questions will be answered.  What I love about the Forum is that we have people who care and share to make success possible for all.

Not sure about how to do this business.  We have several members like myself who have dedicated their websites to help train others to do this business.  Check out www.GDI-Made-Easy.ws (http://www.GDI-Made-Easy.ws)  of www.Wealth411.ws (http://www.Wealth411.ws) Great info and training materials that could change the way you feel at this time.  I wish you much success in the up coming weeks and months.

Darcie

I always make contact when I get an email saying I have a new prospect.  I don't give a huge email, just something short saying thanks for visiting GDI, give them your email and tell them they are welcome to email any time with questions.

I also send an email to my new members, no matter what level they are in.

I hear of so many people complaining their upline don't help them out, so I always contact my downline and offer help.

Don't give up - help your team, and encourage them to do the same with their team.

www.stayhome-mum.com has a 'gdi training centre' section, which has a section on how to promote GDI - it could be helpful for you to have a look at.

Title: Questions (thanks)
Post by: Wil Yiu on April 17, 2007, 04:28:53 AM
Hey, I am very new to this ! Infact, this is my first day signing up...

I have a question, will members be able to cancel anytime ? or is there a certain period of time where they are obligated to subscribe?

I have read a few posts and found that it is really hard to actually have someone join.  Is this true ? does anyone one have any good tips for a beginner like me ?

Hopefully I can make some money here !

Thanks a lot in advance!

Oh ! how do I just forward the post so that it goes straight to the video ?  Will there be a Cantonese version of the video?

Title: Re: What are the basic things to do to be successful?
Post by: DPro on April 17, 2007, 06:50:02 AM
Hi Wil Yiu ,

Welcome!
Yes, you can cancel anytime. Each member who signs up will be given 7 days free trial then your credit card will charged $10 monthly.

It's not hard to get someone to join if you are talking to the right person.
Was it hard for you to sign up? I always believe that if i was persuaded to sign up, there must be thousands out there who are like me.
So no worries! You are definitely gonna make money  :D

At the moment there isn't a Cantonese version, there's a Mandarin version though.

Cheers,
Melissa

Hi, Mark here again.
This is a follow up from my last post.  I should have explained better.
If your having trouble building your own website, you can still use your domain name, just point it to a GDI lead capture page.  You can point it to wherever you want really.  Doesn't have to be a gdi site.  It can be a page you make, or something else entirly.  Your domain name always stays visible.

http://www.homeforwork.ws/html.html

This link gives you the code to use for using your own domain name and having any site you want show up while your domain name always stays visible in the browser address bar.

Copy the code and save it as index.html

Edit it in notepad or something like that.  Change the url that is located near the bottom of the source code to whever you want your domain to point to. Like a GDI lead capture page.  This is where I put in my url rotator link.  That single url will display one of several other gdi members webpages while my domain name stays the same.  Thats how I help my downline.  I just use my domain name and other members sites show up when its clicked.  All the websites are the same link but a different user name, so they all look the same.

Save again.  index.html

Change the title and other meta tag descriptions as well.  Save whenever you make a change.

You can preview it in your internet browser by clicking "file"  "open"  It should work.
Then you just need to upload it to the GDI server.

To upload your index.html file to the server, you must have your .ws email account set up.  When that is done, you must make sure that your gdi ftp.hosting account is set. You will recieve an email in your .ws email account once your hosting is ready to recieve your index.html file.  The email will contain login information so that you can upload your file.

You need an ftp program to do it with.  FileZilla its free.

I hope this helps you guys.  Have a great day!

Mark Austin

Howzit FaafetaiPalu,

Ernest here... sometimes that happens when a upline doesn't respond to your requests, but again that happens in alot of other businesses. As long
as you have the spirit and motivation to get your New business going with or without your upline is all what matters from here on. You got ALL the help
you will ever need right from this forum. The Talent that's here in this forum is UNREAL!!!

I've been in GDI for over a year and a half now and love everything about it, I myself will never quit. My upline ( which I had to contact myself) didn't help me
either, but that didn't bother me cause I knew what I had was a good thing. By the way, I just started to build my website with GDI, took alittle long
but finally got to use the web builder.  ;D

It's not that great and still needs alot of work, but what the heck... it works!    www.kalinaenterprise.ws

Hi Suzy

Look approach each day as if you just started, don't think you have anyone in your downline, ignore them, what I mean is, don't even think they are there, always look forward to the next person who joins, send them a welcome to the GDI business e-mail and carry on and if they get back to you, then you know they want help, and help them, and then look for the next one, just keep building.

Sometimes people in your downline are busy maybe working, taking care of the family or other commitments, you always have to presume that the reason why they are not recruiting is because they have not got the time yet. but look out when some of them do, then you will truly see "Duplication In Action" and really see your income grow month after month, don't underestimate any of your downline and don't expect anything of them and if they are renewing their domain names every month, then don't worry about it, at least they are renewing and thats the main thing.

Just keep sending your downline encouraging e-mails now and then, when the feeling impels you, but don't go over board and send e-mails to your downline every day, BIG NO NO!! once a week is fine.

Stop getting frustrated, like I said, think as if you got no one in your downline, it makes you concentrate on recruiting and building your frontline more, and another thing, it does not harm your business to put new sign ups under existing members in your downline, it will show you care about them in wanting to genuinely help them build their GDI business in other words say for example you got 50 in your frontline and the very first person to ever join your business still has no one yet, and yet they have been renewing their domain name every month, why not when the next sign up you get put that person under the one who you first signed on, it boost morale and also gives you that sense of leadership and deserves a pat on the back, it's one of the BIGGEST things you could ever do for a frontline member and it's out of love, friendship, and knowing that these members are lifetime members and very important to the success of you and your GDI business.

Develop, Unleash, And Confirm...is my motto.

I wish you success.

Patrick.

Don't forget what kind of business you are in. We are always welcoming people into everything
we do. We want them to know how glad we are to have them. We want them to feel like we are here
to help them if the need be. We want this to be something that not only applies to the new people that
we have, but also to all of our downline, no matter how long they have been with us.

Hi,

I've just started with GDI myself - this is my first month. (only 7 members)

But everyone starting out should go here and save this to your computer.
Print it out and read it over and over.

GDI has put together an excellent report that is very
useful. You can check it out here:
https://www.website.ws/home/wealthguide

Then buy at least 10 marketing DVD's to qualify for the $100 bonus.
Plus you can give these to your friends and when they join give them
a free DVD so they can start promoting GDI.

Help your sign ups as much as possible. If they are successful then you
will be successful too!

What I like to do is place people under my first level to help them out
and to build a stronger downline

So I will place a few people on level one then put 7 to 10 people under them.

Do you think this will make them happy?

Buying some business cards is also a very good idea.

Then just ask people if they have internet access - if they say yes
then ask them if they want to make some extra money as you hand
them your business card that has your GDI link.

Whenever you get an email that says someone visited your GDI website
make sure to send them a short email saying:

Thanks for visiting my GDI website.
Did you use the 'Income Calculator' to see how much you can make?
If you have any questions please contact me at any time.

Be sure to also include GDI removal link with any email you send promoting GDI:

Global Remove Database:
http://mail.global-site-communications.ws/delete.cgi?email=~~EMAIL~~

You have to put their email at the end of this link.

If you're really serious about making money with GDI then send a marketing DVD to
everyone who you think really wants to make money online.

To Everyone Success,
Duane

This is a great string as it help me better understand simple issues to address with my team ... basic get starting issues are the biggest stumbling blocks.

Duane's points are simple and easy to execute.

The business is not complicated ... you are solving solutions ... people need/want websites with specific names but can't get them because they are all bought up ... solution is .ws

Validate .ws by letting people know that Corporate America is already using the extension ... let them know about the business opp ... the cards are the simplest method and very effective.

I am more successful with Personal contact.  Just give a video, AND business card.
Tell them you will pick up the video in three days.  Best to pick it up at their house,
if you can.  If so, you can take them to the computer, and sign them up.

If you have to pick it up elsewhere, then tell them you will call them.  Sign them up
from the call.

That's the EASY of this business.

Title: Newbie questions
Post by: DPro on June 25, 2008, 02:13:56 AM
I received a PM from a fellow GDI member who has just joined asking the questions below.
I thought they are very good questions and would like to share it here for the benefit of everyone.
(To Shanta : I hope you don't mind me posting excerpts of your PM here)

Quote
I am brand new to GDI. I haven’t gone through everything on the GDI site yet. I was going through the forum and read many of your posts. If you have time, can you please shed some light on the following questions?

1.   When do you use the lead capture page and when do you use the Freedom.ws page? (which page do I send the traffic to?).
2.   What are the best methods of generating traffic to the GDI site. (free and paid).
3.     Is there a place in GDI with ready-made follow up emails to send to the downline members?

My answers (in blue below)

1. It is recommended to use your own lead capture page ALL the time as the freedom.ws page is overly saturated.
So visitors usually won't even click on it when the see the link. Another benefit of using your own lead capture page is you keep the emails and you have full control of what you want to send them. This way you can offer bonuses to differentiate yourselves from thousands of GDI affiliates.

2. There are too many methods for me to list here. I'll just share with you the methods that I use:
Free methods :
  • traffic exchanges
  • video marketing (jn youtube and other video sharing sites
  • article marketing
  • safelists
  • blogging
  • forum marketing

Paid methods:
  • Pay per click
  • directory listing and list building - this can be free but I outsource as it's too much work
  • classified ads and ezine solo ads
  • seo service - I have just started testing this with a company called rankpay.com, not sure of the results yet
  • [/color]

3. If you promote the freedom.ws link, there is already an autoresponder in place but it's sent from GDI the company
You can use the backoffice to follow up with your downlines but it's not automated, there is also the chat function now.
I am using a downline builder for my GDI business which has a pre-built autoresponder that is sent out to my downlines
as though the emails are from me.

C.Barbosa, are you personally SPEAKING with prospects? Have you put up ANY Youtube Videos.  Do you use any of the social networking sites?  All of these are good tactics to get sign-ups.

I hope this helps.

Title: Re: What are the basic things to do to be successful?
Post by: John Stanley on April 17, 2009, 05:40:37 AM
There really is no secret.  I just recently started GDI, but I have had success in other affiliate programs and I can tell you that there is a fine line between running a campaign that floods you with leads and one that doesn't generate one lead.  Youtube videos, social networking, and all that is great, but you have to keep fine tuning it until it runs right.  A very successful, and rich, internet marketer once told me that there is no such thing as plagiarism in network marketing.  In other words, if you see someone else doing something that is successful.. copy it.  Seriously, that's what you do.  Not getting views or responses from your videos?  Check out some videos that have thousands of views and try and replicate what/how they approached the subject.  What tags and keywords did they use?  Ask your upline for copies of their email pitches and capture page pitches.  If they are worth a damn they will provide you with this type of information because the better you do, the better they will do.

It's all a numbers game.  The more people you reach out to, whether it be via youtube, myspace, facebook, emails, blogs, etc, the more success you will have.  I know.. captain obvious over here.. but it's true.  There is no secret, only hard work and belief in yourself.  It's always frustrating in the beginning because it's hard to gain traction, but keep grinding away and trying to learn something new everyday and you will eventually start building momentum.  Once you get momentum, then you can promote your own success story and people will be seeking you at that point, not the other way around.

Title: New Affiliate
Post by: Julie Magee on April 25, 2009, 03:26:31 PM
I am new (4-15-09) to GDI and I know it will take some time and effort to get this going. However, I am not having any luck getting any responses to ads. Before anyone tells me to buy leads or anything else that costs money, I don't have ANY money that I can spend on this at this time. If it ever begins to generate some cash, then I would be able to spend some to make more. For now I am trying to do what my direct sponser told me to do, and that is to place ads.  I mainly use Craigslist but that is becoming a big hassle as my ads are removed almost as soon as they are published due to the fact that this is a work at home ad. I can't pay for ad space. I sent an e-mail to everyone in my upline asking for help and I got one response. That person gave me a list of places where he places ads, but failed to answer any other of my questions. I am not familiar with building a website and am lost when I try to build one. I have no idea what "html" means or what it does. Anyway, the point is, I joined because I thought I could make some money at this, but when you don't get any responses to your ads you don't make money. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Dear Julie Magee and other new affiliates,

I see that you are a little bit confused about  affiliate marketing. First of all I want to point out that I am not a Guru, I am in affiliate marketing for about a year now. And I have build some knowledge to share with you and other affiliates out there. I want to give you advise, but my advise will only help you if you are willing to learn.

First of all try to see the whole picture/plan/your goal, what do you want to achieve. Do you want to have more leads? Do you want to learn how to build websites? Do you want to LEARN? If you want, then you have come to the right place. If you want retire early then you have to spend more time now. The Internet is full with educational books about all the topics that you want to master. Some of them are "The master key system" and "The science of getting rich". Read them and read them good. This books will help you to build a strong foundation, on which you could count on when the earthquakes come.

I hope that my advise was helpful to you. ;)
Good luck!! :)

hi to everyone above.

There is a guy called joe in GDI who has set up a system which is very simple but effective, to help you grow a team. It is a fantastic idea and in my opinion the guy is a genius.

It's all free to set up and run. He is charging nothing for this! Before you think it, there is no catch. Between us we can build massive incomes and watch our teams grow. It's a system set up using youtube. I wont ruin it for you. You will have to check it out for yourselves.

You are not signing up to another company of any sort. He has simply designed a tool for us to use for GDI. you will find it here. http://power5plan.com/ all is explained in the site. It is filling up fast so get on over and have a look. It could just be the starting of your GDI business.

I hope this helps you all.

Best regards

James :-)

Thanks, Julie
I just join in and the first thing I did was to sent emails to all the people I know

Title: Curious if this is what most people do...
Post by: EthanWollmann on September 06, 2009, 11:36:31 PM
I know lots of people do this with GDI, I just wanted some tips on how exactly to set it up.....

You build a squeeze page explaining GDI and then capture a name and e-mail address and the bottom of it....From there they are redirected (or maybe click on a confirmation e-mail from your autoresponder) that directs them to your GDI affiliate linked site.....or another domain that you bought that forwards to your affiliate link....This way your building a list to promote more products and establishing a downline as well....

I think thats how it works anyways, if anyone wants to give me some advice, pointers or suggestions please do!

Yep thats the best way to do it. You just need an autoresponder, then create a short and fast loading page with something catchy to get people interested enough to fill out the form. You will set the redirect of your web form to go wherever you want (GDI) and then use the autoresponder to send followups.

hey  man...don't bother building a site for your gdi business ....find a good generic system that will take your prospect through a systematic follow up process. make sure the system allows you to export your leads to a separate auto responder like aweber or allow you to add it to the system...then just market the system and be a leader and educate your prospect until they can make sound decision.

hope this helps.

Well, now I am beginning to understand how much I do not know-I wish I had spent the megabucks here instead of at one of my other businesses...Helpppp!!!! I get so many marketing requests, I can't keep up with who is from here and the gazillion others that bombard-here is the skiinny-I at this time can't afford any more dough on joining groups, advertising, etc. I sank a boatload in another venture (one of the businesses you see on my website-moneytree). To be honest, I thought this was going to be an adjunct, but now I believe GDI will be the main business, with the others I have as subsidiaries, or "little sister" companies-I spent $3500 on the other main business, with 247 visitors to date (about 3 weeks in business) and nada to show for it.
