Hello everyone. I just wanted to start this thread because I am getting a ton of e-mails from this forum from people that are desperately seeking help and they can not seem to get it from their uplines. That is the MOST important thing that you should do. You are bringing people in and showing them nothing. One thing that you have to remember about Network Marketing...people will dupicate almost everything that you do. If you work hard and promote and you tell them that and they see you growing, they will do the same. It is almost like taking somone by the hand and leading them into a dark cave that is completely unknown to them. Once you get inside, you let go and walk away...what do you think that person is going to do? They are going to do everything in their power to find the exit and get the heck out of there because they are scared of the unknown. It is our job as leaders to make this territory known for them.

How do we make it better? We study! When you sign up, you should get in the back office and read. Click on every link...click on it again...send yourself the invite letters...get to know the system. Once you educate yourself and actually see what there is in that office area for you to work with, it is easy to spread that same excitement and knoweledge down to people you share it with.

If you have a downline, do them a favor and LEARN! Teach yourself to teach them so that they in turn can teach. I guarantee your Rep retention will improve and you will have a more solid line of Business builders rather than people running for the exit the first chance they get! Contact them once a week as a MINIMUM!!! All people need is a little direction. Some more than others but if you show them, and believe in them...they in turn will believe in you and THAT is a foundation for a long term relationship!

I'm so glad that someone else is putting this out, not only me, calling to talk show, and I totally agree with what you've written here.

I'm one of those abendoned persons who isn't scared at all, but is completelly alone and yes, I've thought about exiting the system too.

First of all I didn't have any questions. Everything was chrystal clear but the more you want to do, the more questions you have and fortunately this forum now exists.

Well this sin't only about being alone, abandoned and on your own, it's also about having a sort of inferiority complex. I've asked also myself if I'm not worthy enough someone to wellcome me.

So I decided I should contact my sponsor as it is advised. I've put two questions to him, but never got the answers. And we're here by this forum again. Forum is good, but it isn't our sponsor, isn't it so?

Well, I have to admit I didn't call my sponsor by the phone, but I've contacted him by e-mail. I'm expressing myself much better this way, but that surelly shouldn't be a reason for not getting any reply.

And finally: how should I teach my downlines (I have only one for now) if I can't be tought. I'm very capabile to learn a lot of things on my own - that's how I've learned to speak German and most of English - but sometimes help from other person  is needed and that person sponsor should be.

These are just my thoughts and if someone feels the same way, too, reply!

Well I will tell you this Tatjana, the only thing you really have to pass down to your team is communication. Sometimes just letting them know you are there in case they need you is good enough. All you need to do to help them is spend time learning your back office tools. Read all you can about the company, where it has been, where it is going. This will also help you sell it. Once you do this you will have what they need. Then all you have to do is focus your energy on 2 things. Recruiting, and duplicating. Your team will dupicate you if you only guide them. People shoulld not even start recruiting until they are comfortable with the system. I think a lot of times team leaders do not stay in touch because like you, they too are not really sure what's going on.

This is my very first message. I am disappointed that I have not received any contact from my sponsor since the first e-mail that was sent to sign me up. Sponsors like this will make people want to quit. After I signed up and I didn't receive anything form my sponsor I felt like I had been hoodwinked. Then I did some research of my own and now I feel more comfortable and confident in the GDI system. Well I've been educating myself and passing my knowlege on to my downline (I only have one thus far). I send everyone who clicks and views the presentation a personal message and I ask them what they think and how they felt about the presentation. I offer for them to view the presentation again if they are having any doubts. I reassure them that the seven day trial is actually free. I also plan on contacting my downline at least weekly and whenever they sign some one up into their downline. Well that's all for now. I will send another message when I have some more news.

Hi Robin,

I am having somewhat of the same problem. My sponsor is very helpful, but his help is very limited becayse he isn't getting help either. I decided to contact everyone in my upline with questions and I keep at it until I get some sort of reply.

Sometimes you have to be persistant in letting your upline know you need the help.

In any business, there are people who don't take their assets seriously.

You are an asset to your upline.  Let them know about it by holding your hand up and saying "hey, pay attention".

Go to your back office and click on the "upline" link.  The five people above you are listed there.  Email or call all of them and tell them that you want to learn and succeed.

Any serious mentor will make that a priority (it's profitable and it provides leadership in the downline).

If no one responds, find a new upline.  It's that simple.

GDI is definitely the right company, but remember if you want to succeed in business you need a support system you can count on.

You have the absolute right to CHOOSE your upline.  If the people you're working with won't help you.....choose someone else.

I was the one who contacted my sponsor... then nothing more. Good thing my husband is in my downline... he helped me a lot ;)

I make sure to ALWAYS send an email to new sign-ups, anyone in my downline. I welcome them and tell them what a great decision they made in joining GDI and that they can contact me with any questions. If I can't answer them, I have a few people in my downline that are always willing to help. I also mention this forum which we really can't do without!

I get a reply every single time. They seem to appreciate being welcomed...

Fellow GDI Team members sorry to hear that each of you who tried to contact your upline never got response.

Another suggestion which use is to contact on all 5 levels upline sponsors or leaders who located in your backoffice.

Luckily my upline sponsor and my Good Friends and Business Partners have contacted me numerous times and answered my questions in timely matter.

Unfortunately, in this industry sometimes we have people who never take their business seriously and this wrong thing to do especially with new people who want to be successful in marketing online.

I guess you could say been blessed with the support and guidance received from leaders all over GDI From Marvin Drobes phone calls, John Long, and many other leaders who have helped me get answers to some questions.

Finally work this business each day learn something new about how to market your business the key is always in the followup.

Don't reinvent the wheel all takes is some time a little money and dedication to build and retain your team if you have any questions on what me and my team doing please email me can provide you with the two simple emails send my new members followed by a phone call to build rapore.

My goodness I know how you feel. I was in a business before where I never heard a peep from the upline. I quit them. Thankfully, I haven't had that with GDI. My open invitation to anyone out there who are feeling alone and not hearing from your upline: don't be afraid to write to me, I will be happy to help.  I not only help my downline, but people from outside my group (lol, I don't know how they find me but they do and Im glad). I only hope that they put in a good word for me sometimes, lol. I feel good helping too because I look at GDI as my family, and I know that when you do something nice for someone, it does come back to you.
 
It only takes a minute to say hello to your downline and see how they are doing and to boost their belief that they can do this and have everything they want out of life. Surely people can spare a minute.

If I don't know the answer to your question, I WILL find it for you! I am on here everyday, most all day, so usually my reply is pretty quick.

Be careful about advising people to CHOOSE another upline if they are not happy where they are.
First of all, it is my understanding that if any one of us should decide to drop out and then attempt to sign back up again, we must first wait FOURTEEN DAYS to do so, and in the process
WE WILL LOSE ALL OF OUR PRIOR DOWNLINE.   I guess if you didn't have ANY downline, then making a move to another Sponsor may be worth the effort; but I sure would not want to lose the downline I have now, simply to move to a new Sponsor.  There are just way too many truly helpful people here on this Forum, who ARE willing to help, rather they are your upline, downline, or no line.

I am blessed because I have two upline people that are very supportive and helpful when they have time to be, and one that knows less than me (which is NOT a good thing at this point). I am training her as we go and loving the opportunity to do so.....my appreciation to her for sending me the GDI movie to look at and sponsoring me in!    We are a team working together right now to support each other as we learn together!

You remember my first post here? I was alone and abandoned in one way. Oh, do you know what? I'm not anymore! But not because my upline on level 1 would contact me - no! My other two uplines are great and I can get help from them when I need it.

And here's sometning even more important to me that I found here, and makes me warm wellcomed member of this family - this forum. Not only that I can get a lot of informations  - I CAN HELP THE OTHERS which is also important to me. Helpong others when I can is a kind of reward for even being here!!!

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Logan Wandell and as of now (7/26/05)... I'm still a free member and have been taking in all the posts and information I've come accross here...Man do ya'll ROCK OR WHAT!! I've never seen such support in a bussiness like this... come to think of it, I don't think anyone really compares!

I do know how important an upline is, and have sought help before. I just checked my up line after calling him up today and left a message, and discovered he'd been terminated for abuse! And all the rest have the same phone number in another country...I've emailed them, but to no avail. Luckily I happened upon this forum!

I'm out here in Dallas, TX well ...30 east of it anyway..

Wife is always skeptical of every deal that comes my way... (I'm a stay at home dad with a 2 & 4 y/o and one on the way..., she's an RN, and I've usually ended up with Sales/Marketing jobs.) I know after she realizes what an awesome opportunity this is, (and I can get rolling ;) ) she'll be thankful I finally found the right business. I'm also a voice-over talent out here as well, and discovered the commercial time on the radio is not all that expensive in the country... any thoughts?

I'd be nice to hear from an upline soon? Who are the BIG DOGS here, I am availabel as you next APPRENTICE, or Patawan...(whatever?) Anyone care to adopt? (sure wish I'd heard of this back in May... with hosting (2 years) and domain name (3 years) it was close to $350!....I could've saved more than $100 right there!)

That's the best thing to "plug" to everyone... the affordability of web presence all together! (I bet in the small towns out in the country.... this deal will explode!  Not to mention their cheap newpaper ads!... a good phone message on your cell couldn't hurt either I suppose, or even advising 'starving salespeople' at the local dealerships on slow days *I was one of MANY!* (chat with them on a test drive and leave a few cards in the glove box or some other seceret compartment...if they don't find it someone else will!)
(the best ones are the ones who don't even walk up to great you... they're either too nervous, bord, or already met their goal for the week... nonetheless, they want money!
My appologies for the babblin', I reckon I answered my own post! Ah well, that's probably not the first time that happened.

I know the sting of not having contact with uplines. But I just shrug is off and will just remember how not to treat MY downlines when I finally start getting some. But I have had more support here at these forums then I could have ever imagined!

I think the problem with uplines not contacting their downline, is the fact that is a unilevil program, as people put people all across their front line,  there is no need to contact them, as they intend to give them no hlep anyway, that is put people below them.

I wish they would change this program to a true matrix, maybe 3 wide, in that way everyone would be helping each other.

My upline, i do have contact with him, as he has decided to build this as a matrix, he buildt one leg, now is starting on his second, so anyone from now on he puts on will fall under my husband, and because of his example, we have decided to do the same thing , build one leg at a time, and then start another, that would encourge the people in your downline,and motivate them to bring people in also.

I am a new member here.

My upline has been contacting me, but something has cropped up that I need advice on.

I am starting up from Italy, in this country there is such a huge potential.  I am trying to learn as much as I can about the system, and find all the information GDI supplies a bit hard to take in quickly, but I am very enthusiastic about it all and believe that in Italy it could be a huge success, even though one does not hear much about it right now, even when going onto the web, and searching Virgilio or Alice which are Italian web suppliers.  Very little trace of GDI that I could see! 

I have loads of ONLY ITALIAN SPEAKING leads over here, but great possibilities of making this work if I can get a website translated.

I noticed that you have a photo of an Italian member advertised, but I cannot seem to find them, or anyone in Italy for that matter, in the forum. My question is are there any Italian members out there, Italian uplines, sponsors etc that I can contact that you know the names of?

I have had excellent advice from Mr Martell, who actually does have a site that has Italian language incorporated which would help me to get started over here.    It is natural that I would like to learn more from Mr Martell even though he is not my direct upline.

My questions are many, but at the moment there are issues that are blocking me from moving forward regarding my determination to get this programme out in Italian.  I never thought there would be such a wonderful opportunity, and now that it is right here in front of me, there seem to be problems getting it out there because of protocol, etc.

At the moment, this situation seems frustrating.

Any advice about how to go ahead with this or is there anything that can be done that would enable me to tap into the GDI sites that can be translated into Italian, and learn from them.

My question to you is this...how do you find a new upline and how do you go about changing it if your upline is not too cooperative in responding to your emails.  I had no idea you could choose your upline in this business.

I am new to this and emailed my upline once when I was enrolled and only heard from my sponser a few times and then its like she dropped off the face of the earth.  I can understand that maybe it can become a bit overwhelming but what about the people who sign up and then after the first week of trial say "Now what do I do?".  I am in desperate need of guidance and I don't want to terminate this since this is the first biz that I have stumbled across that is affordable and can probably make me a supplemental income but I won't know until I know what I have to do to make that happen.

Any suggestions?

I find to that to have success in any Network Marketing is first and foremost...
NEVER GIVE UP !!!

It's not to those that believe the most,

For myself, I have been in GDI since October, and my downline page looks like a
pumpkin it is so orange..   :D
What I have been doing is accessing everything that GDI has to offer.  Sending out
my 100 leads per day, getting rather good responses. Some blue members A green one ! 

If what you are doing isnt' getting the results you want, change it.  Find the to answers
the questions you had about GDI.  Whether it be here in the forum or by going over and
over your website to find the answers yourself.  Get to know GDI 100%, THEN once you do
get that ONE new sign up, YOU will be the upline with all the answers to the same
questions YOU had when you signed up. 
On the days that you get discouraged remember that it sometimes only takes that ONE
person in your downline that could take your business to a totally new level.  Think BIG !
BIG ! BIG !  and you will soon find that drive to keep on going.
Help your downline set up the simple things that other people don't think of
eg.  Good file management on your computer
      Saving emails sent out to new prospects... (make changes is they aren't pulling in
       the results you like)   
Let them know that you are always open to their ideas.  Make them FEEL like they are
a part of a workable team !
Once you get the hang of working the business online, and get a FULL understanding
of what GDI has to offer, working the warm market is a piece of cake !!
As your excitement and faith in GDI grows,  you will find that your business will also grow.

So don't fall into the 'poor upline' syndrome...
Fall into the STRONG downline syndrome instead !!!

To keep MY motivation up...  I have pictures posted on my walls next to my computer
on the things that I want from my business.  (ok The Yatch was a little to much ! lol)
So on those days when I just don't want to do the work...  I look at those pictures....
And it puts me back into overdrive !

Do you think if Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Micheal Jordan ever gave up they would still be in the same profession.

Each of these individuals had a dream, they knew it would take time, effort, and a good mentor.

GDI and the numerous trainings we have at our finger tips is wonderful and we should encourage all those who don't feel they have been supported by their upline or sponsor to find a leader and ask for help.

If I gave up on GDI after the 7 day period would have never got to meet some incredible caring people who aren't afraid to share how to market ect...

So to all those associates give this business a year if I can do it part time and have my regular job we all can!

 complete newbie to GDI and marketing all together. i got an autorespond welcome letter from my sponsor... then about 6 or 7 from another member in my upline. mostly trying to get me to join all his other stuff. all autoresponders too. i mainly jumped into this just to save a name for myself, hoping to be able to invest a little bit of money into it sometime. then start growing. i dont really have any extra money for promoting. i emailed everyone i know. nobody is interested. followed up again with all of them just in case... nobody. i have put flyers up everywhere. i am an american living in germany. most germans do speak at least a little bit of english. i just wish they would get the 7 minute movie in other languages up and running soon. then i could get my wife to help me translate a good flyer to put out. so... i tried emails, flyers(at least 1,000 to 2,000 total), and a few traffic exchanges. is there anything else i can do? my phone was shut off cuz i didnt have the money for it a month ago. finally caught that one up so here i am.  i can barely pay my rent right now... let alone pay for leads that probably wouldnt get me anywhere anyways. i have been with GDI only a few weeks. i know it takes time. just hoping that someone out there might have and ace up thier sleeve...... thanks for any help i can get..... I did build a series of thirteen emails which you can subscribe to to try and solve the problem of an upline who does not contact you. It is aimed at costing less than $50 to get you going. It contains step by step instructions about how to get traffic to whatever site you are promoting. You can pass the emails on to your own downline so you yourselg are not perceived as a bad upline. It doesn't cost anything to subscribe.

New to GDI as well, I'm still in my trial but of course I plan to stay with GDI.
I am not really happy about it, I will soon revamp the site.
However, having nobody reffered as of yet, I was wondering if anyone is able to give me some instant messenger (or chatroom) help.


Really, I feel like I'll manage but I need some help starting up. I've contacted my upline but so far not much really. Seems like they are really busy making money not having any time left for me.
I'm really looking for some people that I can contact if I stumble upon a new question.
I have been studying making money on the internet for more than two weeks straight, my eyes look like little LCD screens now. GDI wasn't the only thing I looked into, but I have learned you need to focus on one project at the time. Overwhelmed by all the info, but still very very excited to start referring people, I really need someone helpful enough willing to help me taking off.

It's $10.00 a month. You put your ad in and click on " set and forget ". I use an adtracker and I can see hits on a daily basis. Just thought I'd mention this in case anybody wants to take a look.

I have ALWAYS been ready to help. I even help other people's downline members. I want everyone to succeed but so many people are just Lazy and Un-motivated! It can get really frustrating when a newbie emails you several times and picks your brain with questions they could easily find if they would just read and then they just stop communication all together. This has happened to me so many times recently that I am starting to understand why some upline sponsors never contact their downline. What has happened to Common Courtesy?

What does one do if their upline doesn't return their downlines emails ..or voicemails.  Here's the deal, since I joined GDI, I have recieved many automated emails from some database in California welcoming me to GDI ..... It would b nice to see that "rare" email from an upline contact person.  I'm sorry but at this moment I really don't have the feeling of a "team environment", its more like I'm on my own.  Yes, there are a lot of great tools and suggestions to help me build my businness but what if you've tried everything ...and I mean everything! from radio ads, newspaper, ads here there and everywhere ..email after email, I'm sure that someone in GDI will agree with me that it does get a crazy.

   The fact that my upline never contacted me is not that important. Well, they did. They had me sign up for another $10 a month for some stupid site from which I got nothing from it until I figured that out.  What really irks me is that I want to develop a real
website and you have to go to the http://ftp.hosting.ws to develop anything over 4K characters but it is always under construction.
I opted out to go to hosting.ws about a month ago so it is not problem it is GDI's problem. Can anyone tell me why and how I can use this option and why this site is always under construction.

You know it is very sad.  I'm trying to use this as one of my selling points.  I started the system six years ago and lasted two weeks before I gave up.  NOT THIS TIME!  I can' t imagine the line I would have had I stayed in the site.

It is strange though. I would be so happy to have one lonely propsect.  I guess the good Lord made me wait til I had a small but meager bag of tricks to send along.   I've been trying for 15 years to make money.  This year through another site I made $13 dollars.  I was so excited. to make my first online profits.  Especially after 15 yrs of trying. 

I look forward to this being a major investment move. I pray for more people in my downline.
I'm putting the word out.  Offering ebooks and everything. Staying up days at a time.  Just to see another soul.

I have to say i'm not to impressed with the editor available with this site.  I have contacted my upline in hopes of finding some help.

I am sorry that things are so frustrating for you.  15 years is a long time.  I am glad to see that you are not going to give up.  As you know, business, online or not, takes time.  Perhaps it is your methods that need to be tweaked.  Take a look at the following site.  It offers a wealth of information.  Perhaps you will find it useful. 

It is unfortunate that many uplines do not make contact with those in their downline.  However, that is a reality that can't be changed.  There are lots of other people in this business that do offer assistance.  Much of that is seen through the forums.  Post your questions and they will be answered.  Endurance will reflect success.

Unfortunately upline support is very conspicious with GDI for its absence. I have been with GDI now for 4 months and nothing as yet from any uplines. If it wasn't for this forum there would simply be no team environment at all with GDI. I agree with a previous post, I feel that I am in this on my own. It is frustrating, particularly when I see a couple of my uplines consistently on the leader boards and I am struggling to attract anyone despite my, not insignificant, advertising and promotion campaigns.

I do not feel that it is just GDI uplines that poses a challenge.  The lack of contact happens in every business.  All I can say is that I have changed the contact level in my downline as I keep in touch regularily.  As far a being on your own, that is unfortunate that you feel that way since your posts have been responded to.  However, as far as building your business, it is truly up to you.  Take care Martry.  Project yourself into the positive because only YOU have the power to do that.

  My name is Eric R. Estrada Sr. Yes that is my real name. Lol. I know what ya'll mean about not getting help from my sponsor(s). I got help from my 4th and 6th level upline by phone and they told me they sent me information but I never got any information. My only help so far was VERBALLY from my 6th level and the rest from here on the forum. Other affiliates have contacted me to point me in the right direction and I am thankful for that. I still have alot to leard and many questions to ask. I still do not know how to START building a downline since I do not have much money. Any advice on that and also how to get the GDI movie on my website page I am making?

See i feel like that i am doing this on my own by answer there emails when GDI is looking for invites for me tell i get four on my downline. i dont now if they are getting a responce from the invites or if i have to do it so i took it on myself to do it on my own so i might be running in to them or not.Can some one tell me if i am doing this wrong or should i keep doing what i am doing to keep all mt invites from GDI invite .

Besides using the GDI invite, you can also use some of the strategies below:
1) Share the DVD with friends and family members
2) Give out name cards
3) Post classifieds in your local newspaper

If you prefer to promote online, you can:
1) Use traffic exchanges
2) Advertise with Google adwords (you will receive instant traffic!)
3) Submit to search engine and web directories
4) Join social networking sites like Myspace, Yuwie or Apsense to interact with prospects
5) Write articles about GDI, network marketing, or home business and post on your blog or submit to article directories (most effective!!)

Well Id like to say hello to everyone and to also say Im glad that there is a forum to go to.  I have been signed up since 2007 but still nothing so now im reading everything again and trying to see where Im going so very wrong at this. I think if I keep at it I will get the hang of it.  It seems I have always had this issue with getting people to see that not everything on the web is a rip off (does'nt help much when you've lost everything and have to start over).  So been there done that, but Im not giving up I know it can happen. I do really wish I knew and could understand about making my own website, but my problem is I need to see it done step by step not in words, im the one who likes to put things together step by step by pictures then I can relate the words.  I build things that way, I know its backwards but I have to see by doing. So for now I will leave site building alone and just work on getting a greater understanding of how everything works here.  I know I will be here for a long time I dont quit that fast.  So hello eveyone have a wonderful day/night.  Tina

Hi Mario,

Do you have the phone number or instant messenger id of your upline?
Try those, sometimes emails can be unreliable due to spam filter.

As for the answer to your question, I am afraid you can't change your upline/sponsor.
But you can sign up another GDI account under a new upline of your choice, but you must use your business name or
a family member. This is because GDI only allows you to have 1 personal account and 1 other business account.

Though I do not know you personally, I must share my opinion with upline contact.

It is certainly nice to be part of a group tht shares in everyones success, and makes people feel like they are part of something bigger then themselves.  Though I believe that ONLY YOU are ACCOUNTABLE for you own SUCCESS!

Educate yourself about this business, marketing, advertising and any other related areas.  Then align yourself with others, not necessarily those only in GDI but other online marketers and pick their brains for ideas.

Read books on business related topics - Internet Marketng, Website Design etc.  Find the things that you are at first comfortable with, THEN do the things that are uncomfortable until they become comfortable.  You may even checkout webinars ad conference calls to participate in to accelerate your learning curve.

I also understand what you mean when you have no upline help. I was here a long time ago in 05, and dropped out because of it. Imagine if I had stuck with it? Imagine the downline I'd of had!!! I was gone for a while to pursue different avenues, and learned a lot along the way.

You see, even if you don't have upline support, you can still succeed. It helps, but there are plenty of people here you can ask for help. Just look at the members who've been here the longest, and contact them. Of course in my case, I have a lot of experience NOW, and am eager to help anyone succeed in their online ventures and have also been known to help them personally.

I know I can help point you in the right direction, but as Marvin, and Howard stated earlier, educating yourself is the first step in your way to success.

My personal 2cents is ....budget, budget, budget! Don't get caught up in pay per clicks when you don't know what you're doing! Always pay attention to how you're spending your time online...whether it's spending too much time on your website or not marketing your site enough. It's all a matter of budgeting your time and money.

Hello my name is Franna and i am new from Columbus,ohio....I am so glad to hear other members are experiencing the same thing. I was suspose to get a call from my upline which i did and training today..and the person never called back >:(...so i basicly wasted my time on a saturday. It is really disappointing.
Anywho, i will succeed with the help of God. I just need someone to tell me about traffic exchanges and banners and links..That is all..
