Hello all, my name is Marcus I joined gdi yesterday. I have to say it does look good, but I have been involved in about 5 differant programs before but never made it work.
I am desperate to make this work guys, I have to earn extra for my children, fingers crossed. The question I really have to ask is,what is the best form of advertising for computer beginners like me? I tried following a program before but it was so complicated, has anyone got a plan that I can follow in easy to follow steps?It is no good me asking family and friends as they have seen me fail before, and would never even consider joining me. Also my upline does not have much experience, so I hope someone can point me in right direction to getting me started.

I found the flyer in forum that you can print it out and put in the letterboxes or community board.  Try to promote your GDI websites in safelists, auto/manual traffic, targeted traffic. I was thinking another idea is get the GDI logo and website underneath and print on a special paper and iron on a T-shirt.

Yeah I'm in the same plate trying to get this to work as I only have one trial member in my downline after lost those 20 people.  I didn't scare them away as I don't know why.

I know how you feel !

GDI has been my first experience with this type of marketing. I have learned loads in the 4 months that I have been doing it and am now starting to get the rewards.


I do not consider myself an expert but will gladly share my methods and systems that I have found / adapted or developed to help build my downline.
Rather than post everything here just contact me and I'll email you all the details. I have not made direct contact with any friends or family. In fact living in the UK I have realised that most UK citizens 'do not get it' or 'trust it' enough to try, so I've had to be adaptable to succeed. With GDI backing us up I know that we can ALL be successful.

  What I have done was go to free advertising sites and put ads there. It depends on how you word your ads weather you get the business or not. I am on social security so needless to say I dont have much money to speak of. Thats why I stated this business. Its slow but I have had a few inquiries. I guess if you have the money you should invest in the dvd's to pass out to prospects. I have the knowledge just not the money. If I had both then I'd be in much better shape.        Jason Leach

I have found the best online marketing system to date. I just got lucky.

The programs are called monstertraffic, adkingdom and text-ad-o-matic.

All are own by dale advertising, inc. It's a simple auto-marketing promotion
program. It wasn't easy to find these people. I just heard about them
(BigDogs) and searched for them. I found one of them, dale advertising.

Just believe me, these guys know their stuff. The best part, and the
main reason I searched, is the low-cost, effective, simple and fast customer
support 'code' these guys live by. Anyway, dale advertising may be the
program to advertise with or on.

gotten any sign ups. I am really getting frustrated, I too have been doing the invite-emails but, I still haven't gotten
any.. I don't know what to do, because my money situation is getting really bad, I'm on Social Security which is not

I'm new here, still under 7 days I believe, but plan on staying. I'm an experienced Internet marketer, but decided to take this business offline as well.

Use the business cards and DVDs. Drop a business card in every piece of bill you pay through the mail, put one at the restaurant you eat at. Anything you can think of. I have a friend who owns a gas station, so I'm trying to convince him to signup and pass out DVDs there to  his customers. Even if he doesn't, he's already given me permission to setup a small stand there to pass out my own DVDs and cards/flyers.

Online wise, those of you who are new should be careful. There are plenty of helpful people out there, but many will steer you in the wrong direction and profit from you rather than help you to succeed. Contact your uplines and find out what they're doing, and duplicate it. Also think back to how you found out about GDI, because that method worked!

Feel free to contact me to discuss marketing strategies, but do not send me ads for any other business. I'll be happy to share mine with you as well.

I posted a question here sometime ago but did not get a reply, so will try again. I would like to be able to offer a free ebook to encourage people to opt-in for more information. My problem is I don't know what steps I need to take to be able to do this.

All I do know is that the ebook needs to be uploaded to a web page and then I need to put a link to it from where ever I wish to put the sign up form.

Please can someone tell me how to do this, or point me to somewhere that would provide this information.

I have the same problem that Jeremiah has.I used the sitebuilder to build my website and can't find the <head> and <body> part to put the html code that google gave me.The title has only 80 characters to put in and the're not in html.If i try to change the html code in the content of the home page ,there's no body and head .Please help me .

Is your ebook already done? You need to use a FTP service to upload your ebook.

In order to do what you want, you need the following:
1)A PDF compiler to make your ebook, you can get a free one here : http://www.openoffice.org
2)An FTP program to upload your Ebook into the server, or you can use the GDI sitebuilder file upload to the gallery
You can get free FTP programs from download.com as mentioned by S_Alcoya
3)A lead capture form on your webpage. When somebody fills in the form, the code will automatically redirect them to the your designated download page.

You made no mention of the things that you have tried. So I will assume that you have
tried to motivate your downline. Sometimes when we have downline people all of them
won't promote GDI like we do.Sometimes they join for other reasons. If you know your
downline people, or not you need to ask if they need your help. Sometimes people are a
little ashamed that they are not promoting as fast as you are. :-[

You need to have close contact with your downline. How often do you e-mail them?
Do you have conference calls with them? Here they can ask questions. ???

How often do you send them letters of encouragement?  ::) You have to realize that we all don't
work at the same speed. Maby some of them are trying,but haven't reached the point of success. :'(
They might feel very depressed. You are the leader.Try to get in touch with them. let them know you
offer support for them. The ones that want help will let you know.

this is my first post and need a lot of help starting with  HOW DO I MOTIVATE MY UPLINE

I have emailed every him day for the last 5 days to no avail
my 7 day FREE service ends on saturday and i have done nothing to promote as i dont know what to do or say

I thought i was signing up for a website that i can build up and change as and when i want and advertise my other things on there so that when i tell friends and family i have a web site they would have a look at what i was all about - but insted all they tell me is that i am just trying to get them to sign up for GDI ( although this is partly true, i would have also liked them to have seen what i have been doing over the last few years) - i have asked my upline but i have had no reply at all.

I had just decided i have had enough and was looking arount to cancel my account when i stumbled upon this forum

You've come to the right place for your questions and concerns. I understand you're not getting any assistance from your upline, but one thing to keep in mind is that your success is up to you, nobody else; however, I know it's always nice to have that helping hand to walk you through the process, to get you up and started, and that is why this forum, Talk.ws, is available to you and every other GDI member.

How do you motivate your upline? First of all, why should you? If your upline knows nothing about nothing, what good is nothing to you? That's called duplication of failure. GDI has given us a powerful system, one that works, otherwise I wouldn't be here, you wouldn't be here, and neither would the next person. Learn how to put the system to work for you by visiting the forum on a daily basis, participating in the training and listening to the .WS Internet Show archives.

Sorry for my late response but the reason for not getting back was that as soon as I clicked on the post reply button – my reply disappeared – I then spent another 10 min’s trying to find it - but to no avail? I then ran out of time and had to go to work.
The next day I looked and still could not find my reply so I gave up on that idea and decided to have another go at my up line just to let him know what I had tried to do and how very despondent I was and to see if I could raise a spark of interest, but he has never replied. :-X
I have just been searching around and had another go at trying to do something with my web page (just to give it one more try before I cancel as this is my last day of the free 7 day trial) but again as I don’t really know what I am supposed to do I didn’t get anywhere.

Ok so now I try to cancel my account and cant find the info I require to do it LOL ???
So I thought I would have a look at this forum and noticed my reply had appeared and your response :o
I wish I could have seen it on the day as you replied in less than an hour and maybe I could have started to take advantage of it.

Am I right to assume that I can turn the web page into whatever I want it to be or am I just under some false illusion?

Is this all the web page does, just displays and advertises GDI – do I not get a say in what is on there?
I here what you say about starting a business for only $10 a month but if I don’t know what I am supposed to do, I may just as well go outside and give the first person I see $10 and tell him/her to come back at the same time next month and I will give the same – etc…etc…etc..

If  someone (like my up line sponsor) would have told me that this is only a site that you have to get people to visit and join I would have advertised appropriately and maybe I could have generated interest in different avenues instead of telling my friends and family I have got a web site and go take a look
After saying all this I am still very interested if someone can help as I find it very hard to say die. :P

Hello Mick,

When you signed up to GDI, you were able to pick a .ws domain name. This domain you can do whatever you want with. You can build your own Website using the Sitebuilder or you can have your domain forward to another URL. It's up to you.

Log into www.website.ws/members and click on the tab that says Domains. You will see your domain listed and the settings for it. Click on Change DNS and select the Sitebuilder option to start building your Website.

Aside from your very own .ws domain name, you have several other Websites to use to promote GDI. They are listed in the FAQ section under Announcements.

Thanks for the advice - i seem to be getting the hang of it now, i have just made a start on my web page (not done a lot but at least i have been able to do something, now i know what to do i can have a play over the next couple of days) easy when you know where to look :o

Hello Simone, To put an opt-in box on your site you will need an auto-responder. The auto-responder company will give you html code for the form that you can place on your website. Just send me a pm if you need more help getting it set up on your site - it is pretty simple.

i am from the uk too m8, i have been using this GDI promoting for a month now and not got anywhere on the edge on giving up i have signed up with advertisers and even paid for a couple but just getting no where, Every email i get about promoting and being able to earn loads of cash etc, i don't or can't believe as what is happening now, i need something to work befor i go mad, and i know myself i will quit!!!

Catherine, it is unrealistic to expect that any business can be built in a month or two.
It takes time and effort to find what kind of advertising suits you the best.
Have you tried to contact your upline to get some advice and guidance
on advertising? Quitting would be the silliest thing to do. You won't find
better business than GDI. And it costs only $10 a month!

I would have to agree with Sanjinka.  Any lucrative business takes time to build.  Your hard work today will pay off in the end.  I am amazed at the people who find $10 a month to be a risk when you have a product that is usable.  The endeavor of building a business is in essence, free.  Don't know of any place that provides you with that.  Literally, <33 cents per day.  In todays economy, don't know what you can buy of value for that....other than your own GDI business.  Just my opinion.

Advertise worldwide. You have the
power of internet to get your message
to the world.
Create a lead capture page and advertise it
on traffic exchange programs, safe lists,
different forums etc.

Be persistant, be patient and you will
start getting affiliates.

Offer them your support.

But do not give up ever, cause if you do,
you will miss a fantastic opportunity that
GDI offers to anyone who wants financial freedom.

I am a newbie and am in the middle of restructuring the way I promote the business. There is potential in GDI, so please don't give up! Start promoting the benefits of being an affiliate. Let's face it, you could earn $100 bonus money in one week! That's practically the cost of the program for one year! Don't be afraid of rejection!!! If you don't like talking, consider giving out business cards. There are many companies out here that will mass produce 5000 biz cards for $100-$200. Give your Business TIME! The toughest part of GDI is finding your bearings.

That's why I offer my team a simple to use system and all the tools they need in my member site-

The point is often made about replication ... but the key is replicating what works. The missing ingredient then is only action.

If you don't have a good process then you put 20 hours into an approach that simply will waste time and money-

Basic marketing principles still hold true online and really should guide your daily efforts.

Has anyone else had problems with the EZ Ad Suite we've been told to install?? I followed all the necessary pre-requisites but I get a fatal error message when the EZ Ad Suite program tries to install.  ???

If you would like to generate leads using only free methods,
I suggest using traffic exchanges or safelist (online promotion)
or you can distribute flyers and put your ad on local ad boards.

I've been placing ads on too many sites to remember. I do paid ads every day.
I'm just not getting any results. Is it possible that I am not getting the people that are signing up under me in my downline?
Is there some way that someone could actually be stealing my signups? I had signups the first couple of weeks and I've been doing the same thing all the way along and now nothing.
So what I am trying to find out is if there is a way for people to sign up under one person and wind up under someone else?
Kind of like you sign up under John and become Frank's signup. Is this possible?
Has anyone else had that thought?

Try your local newspaper......they always have a "free add" section.  Also, yes I was in your same position with very little
money coming in.  Its hard to start a business and even harder to advertise it.  Make a flyer and make copies and post them like those crazy yard sale signs.  You buy something from your AVON rep. she passes a few cards out for you.  Build "curiosity" for people by just putting the www.my.ws on a plain business card and your user ID on the other side.  Every dollar bill that you have write the web address and user ID on it!  Mail letters? put it on the back......l!!!!!   Find EVERYTHING you write on, sign on, post on and write the web site on it and your ID on it.   YOU SAY YOUR ON SOCIAL SECURITY........WHEN YOU GO TO THAT OFFICE DON'T SAY ANYTHING TO THE PEOPLE IN THE WAITING ROOM EXCEPT "THIS WILL HELP YOU" AND GIVE THEM A CARD AND WALK AWAY!

Safelists, traffic exchanges and ad blasters are all turning out to be a waste of time and money. There are people making the leaderboard every day. They're getting their signups from somewhere. The question is where. These PPL that are doing well keep to themselves.
They never help out their fellow members with real true info that gets results. It's like they don't want you placing ads in the same place that they do because you may get some of the pie that they could be getting. It really isn't fair. This may sound a bit like I'm complaining
but where are PPL supposed to turn. You do what your upline says to do and you just don't get anywhere. You email them and ask for help and eventually they don't answer your mail. You quit because your not getting anywhere and the PPL that did signup under you
go to the guys at the top. This forum needs to do more to help the little guy. The big time PPL need to step in and share their secrets.
I know there are members that have 100s in their downline. What are they doing?????????

I can tell you with certainty that there is no positive number that you can say
is the one that will make you successful.

You know that when you play the numbers game,
it’s all in where you put your best foot forward. It also matters
who is interested in what you have.

Now  you must stay positive about your business. What you do and how you
do it will be like no one else. Stop beating yourself to death. This business will
take a little time . 2 months is a diamond in the rough.  :D

You are very new to all this don’t rush things this will take some time.
You can find many places to advertise for free. Did you read what Robert
said below you?

There is always something new to learn in this business.

My name is Torben. I really want to get this system to work. I´ve send an invitation to 51 of my friends, but there´s only 8 who have checked it out, and no one has actually become paying members. I am from denmark, and in Denmark people are either sceptical about this kind of business, or they are not that good at english, so they don´t really know what they are reading, when they are reading it. they just say, "oh no not those cheating companys again, all they are trying to do is pull money out of people..." Now my question is: If not 50 people/friends want to take my word for this business, then how can I recruit people, without sending out mails as spam?? (Which I dont want to do)... I know that I can order the DVD´s, but the fact of the matter is that as I said before, people are sceptical, and affraid, when it comes down to it. they are affraid that when they have used their credit card on the net, by paying for something that they dont know of, their card will be charged by bigger amounts of money... And I understand it, because there´s a lot of cheaters out there. How do I make it work, when 51 of my friends dont want to register??

I would like to welcome you to GDI. I know that you will do well
with your business. Let me tell you that most of us when we first joined
did the same thing you are doing. We went to our friends, and like you
they said no. Most thought as your friends do, but GDI has given you
something to send to your friends to explain what you are trying to tell
all your friends. All you have to do is email them first and tell them to look
for this information you have coming for them.  8)

The DVD’s are a wonderful way to show people what you are talking about.
When you have then you can leave them with people, and return to pick them
up after someone has viewed it. This frees you up to see more people and let
the movie do the talking.  ;)

When you have tried all your friends, and they are not coming on board  :'( don’t
forget you have millions of people out in the world that would love to hear
from you. You now must come out of your comfort zone and explore all the
places to tell others who are waiting to hear what you have to say.  ;D

You must first ask yourself” Do I Really Want My Business ?”  I mean really want it?  ???
If you do the first thing you want to do is drop the notion that this will happen
in 7 days.  :o It will take longer, and unless you are in it for the long run you will
run out of steam before you succeed. You can do this, but you must want it with

I believe that all methods of advertising work, the reason that some people are more successful then others is because they offer more value,
either in the form of information or time(such as consistent support from upline)
So you really need to differentiate because your visitors are asking you why do i want to join you when there are hundreds of teams that I can join with.
I learnt from Ann Sieg that we need a marketing system, and eventually we must design our own system if you want to be truly successful.

What I am doing is putting up flyers ( My own hand made ones) I am a single father and money is tight. Can someone give me some direction on which direction to go. Futhermore when I signed up my sponsor made a promise to give me 50,000 hot leads. I have e-mailed him 2 times and have heard nothing since, as a matter of fact Before I signed up I use to get his advertising for this program on a daily basis.....Now that I'm here I get nothing.......I'm really begining to wonder about this business. Anybody else have these problems. Is this what a sponsor is about or am I just that ****ed up.....Yeah I'm angry....I'm sorry but I thought your upline was there to help. THANKS ASH!!!!

This is gonna take some time but the key is to NOT give up .  Set a simple goal of securing  just ONE  sign -up a week  .  Post your flyer/cards at local cyberbars. a good place to start  good luck ;D

For some of us who are new to online promotion, perhaps we can try doing offline advertisement.
Tips for effective offline advertising :

1. Place classified ads in magazines, try to target at the computer section to attract people with internet and email access
2. Purchase mailing lists and set up a regular mail campaign. This can be expensive but you can get very good results
3. Explore the possibility of showing your ad on local cable television. For a good bargain you can consider the early morning spot and target at business owener who are early risers.
4. Distribute the GDI DVD or create your own CD at trade shows or workshops
5. Give away freebies such as pens, mouse pads and yellow stickers printed with your website and contact information

 I have been here 3 months and so far have no one either under me. I am very disheartened and on the verge of canceling.In fact i got on here trying to figure out how to cancel my acct. I cannot afford to keep paying 10   a month with no money gained. I think that is way so many cancel.It is hard to get epole to join.I just quit MPM for the same reason and all I had to do there was give away free malls and I couold not even do that.So I know how you feel. When you are doing a program that depends on a downline it is very risky to say the least.I am about to quit all program such as these. you are still in GDI you may not have realised this... There are
thousands of people all over the world making a profit from GDI.
They are living proof that it works.

This fact also applies to most other top rated team building
business opportunities.

That being the case, it stands to reason that it is not the
company, or the compensation plan, but you. You are doing
something wrong with how you are trying to promote GDI. Either
you are not doing enough, or you are promoting to the wrong
market, or both.

There are three markets.

1. Those people who want a domain name and hosting but only want
to "pay as you go", rather than paying a whole year, or two in
advance. Also they don't need all the bells and whistles such as
hosting their own wordpress blog, or hosting their own forum,
that some hosting services offer.

2. Those people who are looking for a way to make some extra
money.

3. Those people who want a mix of 1 and 2.

What you need to focus on is discovering where these prospects
are located and how you can get them to ask for more
information. I suggest you start looking in your own location.

Start distributing fliers and drop cards. Create some simple 3 x 5
postcards and place them in newsagents shop windows,
especially at newsagents that have bus stops outside their shops.

Leave dropcards at ATMs, in library books about
self-development.

There are all sorts of ways to generate inquiries for little or no
expense.

Just to recap; If others in GDI are making money then it's not
GDI that is at fault.

Therefore, for things to change you need to change the way
you are doing things.

There are basically 2 marketing methods : paid and free
Free methods will need a little more effort and time, one of the most effective technique that I have found is blogging.
Create a free blogger account and put all the necessary information about GDI including your sign up link.
Then do the following:
1) Ping your blog at http://pingomatic.com/
2) Submit your blog RSS feeds to http://www.yourfeeds.com/Submit-RSS.aspx
3) Submit your blog at social bookmark sites at http://www.socialmarker.com/

If you prefer offline, then show the GDI DVD to as many people as possible or distribute flyers/namecards.

Paid methods are a bit tricky especially if you are using adwords (pay per click), but you will get very targetted and fast traffic.
However be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars per month.

I am from the UK and even though I am in full time work I saw this site and thought WOW, However
I have been on the site over 2 weeks now and I have not even had 1 sign up. I have put hours of work in to it and I have tried free and paid adverts classifieds, mailers friends and family.
I am gutted as I am really impressed with the working ethics around this company.

Can some one please advise where I am going wrong?  ???

I have tried to email my uplines and only had 2 replies which did not assist me.

I would hate to leave the company as I am an hard worker.

But working on this for 10 hours a day for 11 days and not a single lead is soul destroying

i still remember when i first joined GDI...It was frustrating not to get people to sign up! It took me a while to finally make it work!

The biggest problem i see all the time is that people basically have no marketing knowledge, but hope to strike it rich online :)
Doesn't work that way!

What have you done working so long with zero results? Which site did you advertise?

I have tried several different things to promote my business.  Since I don't have alot of money, well in fact no money, live paycheck to paycheck.

Since I don't have alot of money I go the free traffic exchanges, there are tons of them out there.  I see alot of traffic coming to my site, not alot of buyers but I'm getting more traffic.  Go to one of the exchanges and see the ads they are promoting. I would recommend joining more than two or three.  I currently belong to 6 or 7, and I can definitely see which one's are showing my ads.   You must be patient and do not think badly of yourself.  If you make $1, it's $1 more than what you had.  Look around, adapt to fit your style, and relax.  See how other people advertise, see if it appeals to you, adapt it to fit you, and go forth and be creative.

Be patient.  When I started, in May 2008, I was disgusted with myself because I couldn't get one single sign up in over a month.  I was feeling like I was failure because all these other people were making all this money and I wasn't making a dime, so there must be something wrong with me.  But I kept slaving away, checking out different methods of advertising, visiting other forums to see what their members were doing, not necessarily just GDI, other business forums, forums on subjects I like. 

If you like a certain subject, there is always bound to be a forum somewhere for it.   Find a few, join up, just like here, but don't and I can't stress this enough, go in there throwing your links around.  Visit a while, go around to the different topics, if there is something you feel you could contribute to the topic, post your reply.  Enjoy the forum that you join, not just with an eye toward customers.  Have fun, visit as often as you can.  As you get a feel for the forums you like to post in and get to know the people, then insert your opportunities as outlined in the forum rules.

REMEMBER, you have to abide by the forum's rules about posting any type of affiliate link, some will let you do it in the body of your post, some only in the signature line, or some only in a certain part of the forum.  Be nice, be pleasant, be sincere, and be a productive member.

I have been reading al of your questions ,but nobody comes whit a good story for what to do .
Before we wright in here they promised us that it was easy to do, and much better than al the rest.
But i have the same problem as you ,though i think you have to be patient to ,and i think the flyers are a good idee.
Go to the parking and put them at the cars,also freeads could be a good thing.
If you go to alexa.com you can find any site you want and there ranking .
So than you can see how much traffic that site gets,this can help you to save some money before you place an ad.
My question is only how is this duplicating system work here.

about GDI through searching for a job on craigslist. Today is only day
#2 for me and ive got several ads out there and im getting lots of
emails back asking about it. I keep checking my hit log but it
only shows 2 so what is happening to all the 20+ that I have set up
for the conference??? Im sorry but Im not a person who does these types of jobs
very well especially when Im trying to make ends meat so that I don't
lose my home,car etc. Im already frustrated and its only going on day # 3!!!

But when they realize how much effort they gonna have to put into it, they are not interested or don't trust it. I've used the INVITE list. i've got nothing.

I'm not sure what P M is; I assume it's post.  I am computer challenged, and doing my best to learn.  My generation typed and mailed.  I have been trying to succeed in GDI for almost a year, and sent out thousands of e-mails.  I have had many who looked, but  none who stayed.  I am appealing to Wayne to send me the company he mentioned who is serving him so effectively.  Pretty Puleeze!

No matter what you do, marketing requires testing. So no matter how many methods you use, you have to test these methods
and track whats converting. So if you post a link somewhere on the internet, you might want to track how many clicks that
link is generating and how many conversions turned into paying customers.

Could someone help me witrh my business? So far I haven't signed up anyone successfully. I'm still in high school so all my friends are too lazy and immature to sign up.

Hi, I have been working online for a number of years and can provide the help that you need.
Most people working online get things in the wrong order i.e they start advertising first before they have a list of prospects to advertise to. What you need to do is start building your prospect list first and then advertise your business to it.

You will never be successful on the Internet if you don't build a prospect list. You should start building it as soon as you possibly can and NEVER stop building it. Then as you list grows so will your business. If you PM me I will show you how to get started so that you can build a list of prospects to advertise your GDI business to.
