Title: I got my first signup woohoo!!
Post by: JesseRussell on August 11, 2006, 10:32:12 AM
I'm new to the business. On general terms, what are people's findings in regards to the following: Generally, how long (or how many people) does it take to sign up 1 new member that remains active?

Or to put it in terms of a week or a month, what is a general rule? I.E., sending 40 invites usually brings in 1-2 people, or 10-12...something.

also - i won't lie... I am a sucker for instant gratification. Is there any way to get even 2 or 3 people started? I just want to get this to be real for me. Once I have this, I'll feel a bit more comfortable about this all.

Hi

I just started as well.

I think most important is to have a positive attitude to start with and a good relationship with your upline.
I am in contact with my upline every 2nd day or sometimes even on a daily basis. All 5 uplines are available for you to contact and they can probably give you good advice on how to get started.

Best of luck!

You must remember that everyone is different and we all have a different "sphere of
influence."  For the last 6 years (before GDI) I have been adding names and e-mail
addresses to my e-mail distribution list.  I do newsletters and once GDI came into the
picture, I immediately had people in my organization.  I put people on drip campaigns.

Anything I promote I will have some success with.  I don't mean to be bragging but
your list really is everthing.  Again, I did start my list 6 years ago and it is working.

I hope this helps,

Alan

Hi Alan,

What is a Drip Campaign?

Hi Lynda:

Drip campaigns are friendly little reminder e-mails.  A person has to be exposed to something
6 to 7 times to take action (like a dripping faucet).  From my website, I give away free stuff
to capture information (name, e-mail address) and then put people on a drip campaign.

All I have ever wanted from people is to just SEE the GDI Flash Presentation (the 7 minute
one).  First e-mail they receive, probably gets deleted (Sunday, don't want to do any
work.  Second e-mail from me also probably gets deleted (busy, life gets in the way).  About
after 5 to 7 e-mails someone responds.  They either remove their name from my mailing or
take a look at the GDI Flash Presentation.  My e-mails are short and create mystery so the only
way for a person to learn more about what I am talking is to see the GDI Flash presentation.

I usually get 3 to 4 sign ups each month.

I hope this helps,

Alan

How long it take depends on how acrive you are in promting your business.  There are tons of ways to advertise your business.  Classifieds online and newspaper.  FFA, forum sig files, blogs, capture pages, google add words, adsense by google, posting articals, safelists.  Depending on your advertising methods, you will want to advertise the product or service, not the opportunity.

Me too. I have been with GDI for a little over 2 weeks and have received over 600 hits but no signups.  Using trafficswarm, instant buzz, and safelists. But no signups. Can someone send me an email campaign that is working for them to generate signups.

Thanks,

Hi Portia,

Hits from traffic exchanges do not produce signups..they guarantee you traffic/hits to your website which is what you are receiving.  What gets you signups is introducing your GDI business to people that you know.  That is why GDI created the invite system.  For every 10-15 people you introduce GDI to, you may receive 1 sign up.  So let's say you know 250 people, You may get 15-20 signups from them.  If they do the same, the same results.  Now I do not guarantee the results, but they are typical.

If you do not want to use the invite system.  The create a simple email and send it to people that you know:

Hi First Name,

I recently started a new home business.  Check out my website at www.Freedom.ws/Username or www.movie.ws/UserName/FirstName&LastName.  I'll contact you later.

Your Name Go Here

That's it in a nutshell.

I've found that this is a good marketing strategy. The KEY is a good subject line and to keep the messages short.

Hello Everyone!!!

I was also fortunate to get my 1st signup within 24 hours! My first signup was through the invite system! USE IT! The law of averages is on our side! Aside of the invite system, I use craigslist and eBay! They work! I was promoting the opportunity, and have recently started promoting the product.

I am going into month 3.....I have 7 on my front line......and a total of 42 downline members! Take 30 to 60 minutes a day and focus on promoting either the opportunity or product!

Well.. I don't think we should give out the wrong idea.. because I use traffic exchanges effectively.. this last week I sponsored 7 into GDI and one of my main traffic sources are traffic exchanges. I do however use my own website on the exchanges (not the GDI pages) and then later they are introduced to GDI. Also the most profitable way to use exchanges is to get referrals into them. What I would recommend to do is create your own lead capture page - something that will get a visitors interest within 10 seconds of viewing your page. I am getting one free signup (into my website) for every 800 credits on traffic swarm.

I just got my first sign up after about a month in GDI! I'm very excited, but during that first month I never gave up. You have to do GDI everyday in order to be successful. You have to be willing to work your business for however long it takes to get that first sign up. It'll be worth it, trust me! ;D

I have been in GDI now for almost 2 weeks.  I started with people I personally knew, and knew they would never join.  One is a lady wanting me to join her business. Which I will, for the product, but not for the opportunity.  I never thought she would join, but she did, for the product. lol

My sister was the next one I tried out.  She said no no no, in about 20 different ways before I even got the dvd to her house.  Then I told her that I would pay for her membership fee, and build her down line for her because I wanted her in line for the checks. That made her a bit angry with me, and she told me that she wants to see her sister not a commercial. heh  :D  Finally, I shut up.  Showed her the DVD ...and she said "geez, all you had to do was show me the DVD sis!"  HEHEHE

The next toughest sell, well my father.  My approach with him was different. I used the hey dad check this out, I want to make sure it is a good thing. Because if it is I really think our whole family can benefit from it. And your opinion is important to me.  He said that he can not stand this type of stuff, but he likes GDI.  He is currently waiting to get a credit card, because he lives in China, and the cards he had can only be used in China.  (He works for one of the biggest import export companies in China) He and my other sister do. She will join under him.    We have made this a family affair. My brother signed me up. My mom is about to sign up under my sister, and when my Dad joins I will be placing him under my sister, this way my older brother and my older sister and myself will be able to keep an eye on our parents. heh 8) ITS OUR TURN!

This week I am working on my ex-husband and his wife. I know they will join. I will make sure of it.
I am also working on my best friend( from high school- 20 years and still best friends)  this week. ( She could really use the money)

Keep in mind these are all people that when I joined I thought. Well, they wont touch this. But they did. So do not be afraid of the people you know.   I have goals and am going to build a good business for myself and I have started out with a great team.

Oh and my little brother is just waiting for my mom to join so he can join under her.  Drag in the people that you trust and love the most.  You will have a strong motivation to stay in, and succeed.

Other than that I have summited my site to 100,000 search engines which I was told about by a GDI member in this forum.  She said she had great success with this, and I am waiting on some very targeted verified leads from this great company (15years)

I have my welcome to GDI letter ready, and I even have my husband who will be joining soon. I have plans for him, and he is fine with that. Besides he is a sales man of integrity, and currently passing out my business cards to his costumers that buy used cars from him.

The answers are right under your nose. Good luck to all.

Happy to be here and thankful to GDI for this opportunity!

Sincerely, Stephanie :)

how, in particular, do you use ebay to promote either the opportunity or the product?

Title: Re: I got my first signup woohoo!!
Post by: DPro on February 09, 2008, 07:14:58 AM
I have read from successful internet marketers on how to generate leads from there.
First you offer a super low price ebook which comes with master resale rights (offer at $0.01)
when you get people to buy it, they will be a potential lead.

So it is good if you write your own ebook with links inside to your GDI business.
This way when the buyer distributes your report, they will spreading your link to everyone.

Another strategy in ebay is to contact ebay power sellers and offer them your ebook for free.
So you don't have to even sell your ebook yourself, but get the power sellers to do it for you.

Great Brad,

No the key to remember now is to followup with these prospects and find out more about them.

1. Goals.
2. Qualifying questions why they want a home business
3. Prior companies
4. Get them to the training mentioned on the .WS Internet Radio Show from leaders who care.

Take care,

Well it sounds great.  I sent out my invites (200) to my email aquaintances and have one with two domains, and four others at this writing that are good leads.  I have finished an email to take them back to ordering.  It is a work in progress.  I just requested of my upline to send me copies of what he uses for followup.  I am sure he is doing well.  I expect to do well and have a very positive outlook on this.  Stay confident, this will work, it will over the future change your life in such a way that you will want to give more of this information to your aquaintances.  As a golfer, visualizing future shots and having confidence in the club I choose to hit with makes all the difference between a good and bad shot.  Try it you will be come empowered to do well.

Good Luck is persistence and increasing your presence in your work.  It is investing in yourself and believing in your abilities to do well.

Congratulations Marko!  Keep at it!  You mention that you shouldn't have to spend a lot of money to make money.  I'm going to agree and disagree with you there.  In my opinion there is one thing that you should never feel bad about spending your money on and that is training materials.  Go to your local bookstore and look for some books on copywriting (the art of writing good copy), marketing and personal development in business.  Names like Og Mandino, Zig Ziglar and Anthony Robbins.  Rich Dad Poor Dad is a great book.  The Greatest Secret in the World is Another.  Over the Top is great.  How to Win Friends and Influence People is a fantastic one.  There are just a tons of books that will help you.  After all, the more you know the more value you have for others.  The more value you have the more people will want to follow you around and do what you do.

Forgive me, I tend to be long winded.  The purpose of this post...congratulations!!!  :)

This is my first week and I have 4 so far with very little effort and am very confident of a lot more over the next few weeks, I seriously think this is a no-brainer...such a simple product that's actually useful and at minimal cost, so very few barriers to entry for people you talk to.

It sounds like a good number of you are struggling through various internet marketing strategies, so my advice is to start talking to people instead. Stephanie had it right in her earlier post - start with your immediate centre of influence; your family and friends.

I focus on the opportunity but sell on both product and opportunity equally. I tell people that this is a chance to have their own personalised email address instead of some horrible, unprofessional freemail address and not only can it cost them nothing but they can in fact be paid to have it (and paid bloody well if they put some effort in or find some people who will put some effort in under them). I'm not that fussed about the website side of things because then you kind of need people that want a website whereas everyone uses email.

At the end of the day, they can cancel at anytime, so why not try it for a month or two...I mean what's $10 or $20 to give themselves an opportunity that could give them a significant passive income for the rest of their lives! My next step will be to pay someone an hourly wage to do it full time until they have their own decent downline to support them.

Hope that helps

Hello all!
My name is Nathan, I am fairly new as well. I am excited to get everything working well soon, but because the investment is so small, I have no worries of failure. I know with time and proper marketing that this business plan will continue to grow and benefit many people.

I have a few websites that I use for marketing. Each site is relatively new with very little traffic, but I try to focus on providing quality content and use passive marketing. I truly hope that my method pays off in the long run.

I plan to recruit my first 5 then do a rotating recruitment placing new recruits under my first level recruits as well as continue to build my first level width. If I have success in recruiting my first level then I believe I should share that with my downline in helping them grow their business and do as I will do.

I truly believe that there is no point in recruiting everyone you can directly into your first level and ignoring your downline. Sure offering them tips is great, but encouraging them with members under them will empower them to do the same making a perpetual growth with virtually unlimited income potential.

Thats my two cents anyways.

The first sign up is critical, it proves the system works.

You then need to work out how to scale the process. You need to think of automatic methods. If it took you 10 hours to get 1 sign up this will not scale if you plan to get 100 per month. This is why your WS site is critical. You need to get the sales message right, then you focus on traffic. This scales well and you can get more signups with the same level of work!

1. The sales pitch on your site must be clear and simple
2. The traffic to your site must be good. Aim for 100 to 200 unique visitors per day
3. Get the traffic from free sources, not paid adverts

Happy Selling,

David
