Title: EMAIL HELP
Post by: M Shortt on February 25, 2007, 06:46:36 AM
Hello,

I am new to this board and need some help in establishing a permament email address to use in my business.  I now have an AOL address but am sseriously thinking of changing it.  My question is how many of you all use exclusively the .WS mailbox?  Or do you use another e-mail and why?  I do know that the one thing that I don't like about the .ws mailbox is that it doesn't seem very user friendly.

Thanks,

M

The best thing is keep your private email separate from your business and nothing wrong with that.
As for GDI email you mention that it is not user friendly, well, i am an amateur myself but did not find GDI email`s any problem.
One reason you have to utilize GDI email addresses is to give credibility to your Business (GDI).
Imagine your prospect or leads finding you, not wanting to use GDI email addresses for reason you mention above.
If you are a prospect yourself, would you join?
Tip, if you have problems email GDI on your back office. Believe me they are extremely helpful.
Good Luck and don`t give up.

Manuel

Hello,

I use .ws email services for everything and find it to be very user friendly. I use it for personal use and business use. Have never had any problems with it. What kind of problems are you experiencing?

You can keep any current emails that you have. AS a matter of fact i enlisted the use of several different email accounts etc. yahoo google hotmail gawab and @wiki . Im getting ready to empliment myspace and geocities. they come in handy and i will tell you why :>) just private messge me and i will give you the low down on how to get traffic to you site. No guarantees just another method I use to get trffic.

I am using my mail with MS Outlook 2003. I receive my mails but ı can't send an email to other email services. If I want to send to another ws email, there is no problem. However I can't send the other such as gmail, yahoo etc.

What can be the problem?

Thanks

Instead of checking multiple accounts, I like to just forward all my emails from different addresses to just 1 email address.
I use Gmail because it's web based, this means I can check my email even if I don't have my laptop with me,
another interesting feature about Gmail is it allows me to send out /reply emails using different email identity.
This is great when you have different businesses, so you can read your emails from 1 central account, yet you can choose different "send from" address.

Title: Email Signature Question
Post by: RVanSant on March 06, 2007, 09:07:22 AM
How can I place a default signature on my emails? ??? It seems that each time I send an email I have to manually set up the signature.

Title: Follow Up To My Previous Question Regarding Email Signature
Post by: RVanSant on March 06, 2007, 02:44:58 PM
Since there is no email signature default setting for my .ws email address, how do I make my signature default. The way it's working now is, I have to set my signature each time I send an email.

I got a reply that I need to set it in Outlook Express. I thought I'm using .ws mail, not Outlook Express mail?

I've tested this by setting my .ws email signature and sending a test email to my gmail address. When it arrives at gmail, the signature is there as it should be.

However, when I go back to my .ws email to send again, the signature is not there, and I have to set it again.

Now, what's the use of using my .ws email for business if I need to set my signature on it each time I need to send mail. I might as well use my gmail!

I'm not angry, just frustrated over the fact that I can't set my signature so it stays there as a default signature should.

My point is, I want my .ws email address with a permanent (default) signature in people's faces while I'm to promoting GDI and my other income programs. The email signature I use is the website address of my income programs, which includes GDI.

So, make me a happy camper and tell me what I must do to get my signature to permanently (default itself) stay on my .ws email.

I do aplogize if I sound a bit terse, but I've been in front of this computer since 7:30 this morning...I've just discovered blogging! And, so I've been doing that and been working with traffic exchanges all day.

If only my grandson was here, he can probably fix this for me! ;D

I know someone will respond, and in advance...I thank you.

Title: Email Notifier
Post by: RVanSant on March 06, 2007, 10:33:17 PM
You receive mail with AOL and you hear, "You've Got Mail"!
You receive mail with Earthlink and you hear, "Mail Truck"!
You receive mail with GMail, and you use their mail notifier envelope icon in your task tray, the envelope darkens and you hear a sound.

I haven't seen anything like that with .ws
Is there anything available such as an icon, or sound to notify us when we receive mail to our .ws emaill?

Post by: PamelaR on March 07, 2007, 06:54:36 AM
I took me awhile to figure this one out too.  I believe if you go to the options under your .ws email, there is a section there where you can set your signature.  You might have to search around and read what is for what there (I did, but I confuse easily!)  :-[ You should find the set your signature in there someplace.  Good Luck and let me know if this helps..

Title: "Invitations" ending up in Email Junk Folder
Post by: Alan Chapman on March 10, 2007, 05:08:22 AM
Hello ,

I have been sending "Invitations" from inside my .ws members log on and I am finding most end up in my prospects "Email Junk Folder"

Does anyone have a work around for this ?

Is this because .ws is seen as a website so email progs just put the emails in Junk or is it because .ws are seen as spammers ( they do send out '000's of emails a day !)

I look forward to hearing from you !

three problems I have with ws email:

myspace doesn't identify it as an email address.  when I set up a myspace acct using .ws it takes them weeks (no exaggeration) to send a verification, if at all.  So i have to et up my myspace under a .com.

next - there seems to be no way to block addresses on email.ws

next - no spam filter

if I'm wrong - then help a gal out, please

1. Sounds like a myspace issue not a WS issue.

2. You can setup a local SPAM filter on your computer. (Outlook - Outlook express or any other email client you use)

Alan is right that this is the problem with myspace. Since they can't solve that then the next best choice is use a .com email address or a web mail.

If you have a Gmail account, you can actually forward all your email messages from various domain names ( .ws or any other domains that you own) and manage all your emails from there. This is very good since you don't have to login to multiple accounts to check emails, so it saves you a lot of time. Gmail has a great spam filter too. Another cool feature about Gmail is that it allows you to send emails from your account using different email address identities. So your recipients will read the emails as though it is from your domain instead of gmail. There is a google video by Buck Rizvi which teaches you how to do that.

Are you using IMAP? If yes, you must configure your email program with the following:

     Incoming Mail Server -> email.ws
Outgoing Mail Server -> Provided by your ISP
     Account Name -> youremail@yourdomain.ws

You can follow the instructions here:
http://www.stu.qmul.ac.uk/mail/outlook/outcfg.htm

Doesn't GDI have a outgoing mail server such as gmail, yahoo, etc. For example : smtp.email.ws

My ISP said that if you are using our mail service(such as umut1979@ttnet.net.tr), you can use our outgoing mail server.

While you use another email sevice, they must provide their own outgoing mail server.

In the present, I can't use my ws mails to send an email with outlook. Interesting!

Title: Re: EMAIL HELP
Post by: DPro on March 29, 2007, 10:17:22 AM
I was looking through the FAQ, there seems to be only POP and IMAP.
Not sure about smtp. You may want to check with support.
Have you considered forwarding your .ws email to your other email accounts?

Title: Re: EMAIL HELP
Post by: Edward Gause on April 01, 2007, 02:35:34 PM
You can only use the outgoing mail server of your ISP.  That varies from ISP to ISP so you will have to check your ISP's help pages or call them up.

Hey,

I had been using email with my .ws domain name.
I decided  to  change it to email forwarding to my roadrunner email  acct. temp.

Well I needed to check an email that was in my web mail acct. Went to retrieve it and found that my web mail acct no longer existed. So all emails that were  there are gone. I did not see anything in FAQ that this would happen if you had your email forwarded. I thought that my acct would stay intake in case I wanted to change it back or if I needed to check and old email. If I missed something  let me know. Also if there is not any info on this probaly should be.

So I had to set up my email acct with web mail again and lost all my emails some with info I need. Just wanted to relay this info to the forum.

Steve

PS GDI  is a great idea the perfect Internet business  .  Really love this forum

Hi Steve, I have not used the email forwarding facility, but I would have thought that this option would have been an added extra and not an 'instead of'
I'd be interested to know what support made of this, before I decide to use it myself.
Cheers All the best Dave

Hi VDaniel ,

May I know what autoresponder program are you using ?
Most would already have that automatically included in all your emails sent out, so you don't need to do anything.

The standard from aweber is

If you are using  an autoresponder to contact the leads you have purchase then the opt out line should automatically be placed somewhere at the bottom of all the mailings by the company you use. I believe they must do this to cover themselves against spam laws.

Hope this helps

Hey everyone!

I was wondering if anyone knew how to set up an email account for Apple Mail.  I have been having problems trying to figure out what the incoming and outgoing servers are.  All I have been getting are error messages.  I set it up on my BlackBerry with no problems but I wanted to view my email on my desktop as well.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone,

Does anybody know how to configure a .ws email account to Apple Mail?  I tried entering in the incoming and outgoing servers that this site recommended to those who are using a mail client and it doesn't seem to be working.  I had no problem getting my .ws email on my BlackBerry but am having the most difficult time setting it up on my Mac.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I didn't see anyone post anything about troubleshooting email on Apple Mail so I figured I would do so since this is driving me nuts.  Thanks!

I'm working on my domain and am needing help.  The link that you click on to send an email is doing something I don't like.  First its talks about internet explorer security do you want to continue  then when you type your msg and hit send it asks for your name then it wants to know if you use IMAP or POP3 who is your email server and all of that.  Why??????? It makes absolutely no sense.  Is there anyway to do it differently?

Hi Robert,
If I understand you correctly, you are trying to access your email from outside your domain?  If so, you have to go to http://www.email.ws/ and then type in your email and password.  I hope this answers your question.

Title: Address Book in my .ws email
Post by: DedeYoung on September 29, 2007, 08:01:02 PM
Hello Everyone,
I sure hope everyone is having a wonderful Sat. morning. Just a quick question here, (I would say stupid question, but the only STUPID question is the question that WAS NOT ASKED). I have 2 .WS email accounts, one personal and one business. In my personal email, in my address book, I have 22 email addy's of friends and family. When I go to forward a message, I always hit the "toggle all" button at the top of the list, on the column "TO". (Did I mention how windy I am?) Any way, only the first 4 people on my list are receiving my emails. I know this is something that is new because it has worked before because several of my friends have told me that they no longer have gotten emails from me.
Yes, I did create a group file with all the emails listed but using that option just gets me the same results, only the first 4 get emails. Can anyone help me out and tell me where I screwed up at? And believe me, I know that it is my screw up so no replies will offend me in any way. Thanks for all who answer or respond to me with a good resolution. May all that read this have a truly Blessed Day, thanks Dede Young

It started out a couple of days ago. I had confirmation that my new '.ws' email addresses were activated. I forwarded a couple of messages to myself from another address and everything was working fine. Then the next day, I get this message from my upline telling me that he had tried to email me at one of my new email addresses, but it had failed to go through.

Anybody know anything I don't?

Confused.

I'm not sure if GDI uses keywords to block spam mail or not, this could be the case.  Then it's possible the email was incorrect, but assuming the email was correct with the proper email address, then GDI might be using keywords to block spam.  Example:  using the word Free is a target keyword to block spam,  so type the word  F.r.e.e  Fr.ee  same using money m.oney

When I create .ws email addresses,  I also create a google email.  Then I forward all my email to the Google gmail.

Title: Re: EMAIL HELP
Post by: Kim Wong on October 19, 2007, 08:13:33 AM
If you go to 'options' and then 'personal information' you can set up you signature there. The problem I have with the signature is that I have four lines in my signature but when it appears on the email, it is one line, so I have to seperate my signature into four lines every time I send an email.

Other problems, when I have gmail on my mozilla firefox it doesnt log itself out, GDI does. Gmail will inform me on the firefox tab when I have received a mail, GDI does not, in fact on GDI I always have to click 'inbox' to find out if I have new mail.

On GDI you have on the left 'inbox', 'compose', 'addresses',  'options', 'search', 'help', 'logout' ...... but no 'send' or 'trash', almost every other e-mail client I have used will have 'send' and 'trash' (or it's equlivalent) in this list

so these are the reason why I think the GDI is not as user friendly as the others

also I want to access my GDI mail using my mobile, does anyone know how to do this?

How should I go about changing that?

I use Comcast as my server and they just changed the port number used because of spam.  Now I can receive all of my emails coming in but it will not let me send anything with a WS address. I contacted Comcast and they said that they do not recognize ws so I would have to contact my server. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you deal with it. ???
Thanks
Raymond

Hi Raymond,

I don't have a direct answer to your question, however may I suggest that you use Gmail as your universal account?
It is really a time saver!
What I do is I forward all my emails (from multiple email accounts, GDI, Outlook) to my gmail account.
This helps me take advantage of gmail's excellent search and sort feature for speedy email management.
On top of that, you can even configure your gmail setting to "send email as" any number of email addresses of your choice.
You send email inside gmail but you choose which "from" email address that your recipients see.

For example, I use gmail server to send emails to my downlines, and I set the outgoing mail to show my GDI email (support@bestgditeam.ws)
Get the step by step instruction on how to set it up here (http://www.googletutor.com/2006/06/20/using-gmail-as-your-universal-email-account/)

Title: QUESTION: why is my mail forwarding feature NOT consistent?
Post by: JaimeRoque on April 09, 2008, 04:20:08 PM
I have my .ws e-mail forward to my Yahoo e-mail.  But it's not consistent.  Sometimes it does and sometimes I lose the e-mail altogether?  Anyone else experience this?

Is there any way to keep some unknown person from using your web address to make there own email address using your domain name? ???

Title: Re: Unauthorized use of web site for email spam.
Post by: DPro on May 12, 2008, 08:06:58 AM
They can't actually use it because only you will be authorised to create email addresses using your domain name.
Unless they have your login info to your GDI backoffice.

Although I have been a member of GDI for over two years and I find aspects of the product useful, I have never felt confident enough to recommend it to any body else.

The reason for this is quite simple.

.ws email addresses are spam magnets.

I recently opened a new email account and IMMEDIATELY it was flooded with adverts for viagra, sex services and pharmaceuticals! I do not want to have an email client that I have to combine with others in order to be able to have some control over what ends up in my mail box - that would simply overwhelm one box and g¡ve a daily task that would be too time consuming.

It is way past time that GDI had a feature to record and block spam emails - similar to Yahoo! and Hotmail.

I totally agree! I had sent support an email about this same problem, and this was the response. It's nice to know it will be available at some point, sooner than later, I hope.

Hello Nicolas,

Based off your question, you need to setup your outgoing SMTP server.  Normally your ISP would provide this information, so contact them.

Depending on who your ISP is, i would look something like this:  smtp.YOUR-ISP.com

Hope this helps...

Frank

I have a question about email.

Is it possible to forward all email from other places (Yahoo, Gmail, AOL) to your email.ws? If so, can somebody explain it to me? All help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Title: Re: EMAIL HELP
Post by: DPro on July 01, 2008, 09:58:18 PM
Yes, it is possible.
If you are using gmail, login to your gmail
> click "settings" on the top right
> click Forwarding and POP/IMAP
> check the radio button for "Forward a copy of incoming mail to" and fill in your email.ws address

I have a question about email.

Is it possible to forward all email from other places (Yahoo, Gmail, AOL) to your email.ws? If so, can somebody explain it to me? All help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use the .ws email system all the time despite the fact that it's a bit basic. The new version that came out a few months (or was it weeks I cant remember), although I always use the standard version that is because in the advance version all the links seem to dissapear.

Anyway has anyone been using the Mail Filters? I have several filters now, some work and some don't still trying to work out why, but I was wondering, can these filter be listed alphabetically. It's difficult trying to search for a filter because they are listed in order of when they were created, so can they be listed alphabetically

thanks

I do not like GDI email at all. It does not recognize links for websites and emails. you have to copy and past. some programs will not get to the GDI email because no click able links. I have configured outlook with my service provider and I can send and receive several thousand emails while I am having coffee. Outlook works great with excel and word to maximize it potential.
If you can not receive then it is not right.

Hi,
I am having the exact opposite problem. I contacted my ISP - they helped me set up the SMTP (sending) whch works fine now, however the POP (incoming) utilizing "email.ws" and trying other renditions of it are not working to receive! I think they left out some info., besides there are other important settings such as ports, security, etc.

Please help me out as soon as possible! I want to get started and I have to set up at least 5-6 email accounts - haven't even gotten the first one "down" yet.

Thank you,

Curt Bizelli

I have the same problem. The pop setup for incoming is "email.ws" but what's for outgoing the code?

GDI explain this so:
Incoming Mail Server -> email.ws
Outgoing Mail Server -> Provided by your ISP

What is to add in the outgoing field in the pop setup? Hope there's someone can help !!!

Title: GDI Email Query
Post by: Michael Lynch on February 02, 2010, 03:08:02 PM
Hi all,

In my GDI email account - email.ws I have numerous email address in which I would like to send the same message to. There are about 50 email address, and I want to send the same message to them all.

So... I have created a contact group where all these email address are listed. When you are composing a message, I am able to add this contact group. With me so far?

So, If I send out that email to all 50 people at the same time, they will all be able to see that I sent his email to another 49 people They will have access to all there email addresses. If we were to rule out the option of an auto responder, just at this present moment, Is there anyway that I can send out the email to all 50 people at the same time but they can only see who the message is from (me) and not the email addresses or names of the other people who I included in the message?

I hope this makes sense to people!!

Thanks for your help!

Hey Michael,

The only way to ensure that the email addresses are not visible to everyone is to send it "BCC" or Blind Carbon Copy.  That should work.

On that note, I suggest that you make the emails more personalized.  To do that, without an autoresponder requires you to send each email one at a time.

The only other suggestion that I have is for you to use the GDI invitation system.  That would require you to place their names and emails into the system.  Doing that lets the system do the emailing for you.

Hope all of this information helps you..

Title: Where should I gather up people's email address?
Post by: DanielKim on April 19, 2010, 11:24:49 AM

Hello, im fairly new, although I joined GDI more than a month ago.
I didn't start any promotion quite yet until now, because I wanted to find out the best solution and ways to make other people to join.
So I've been reading and watching videos of people who has good experience in the internet marketing industry.
I feel that I have the basic knowledge now but I still have a lot of questions.

Here are my questions:

1. First of I know that the "email" is the primal and the key way* to gain and increase the number of down-liners. Where is the best place in the internet to find people's email adresses to promote people using the invite system? Where should I be looking into? I'm currently looking into the forums relating in buisiness, entreprenuer and money(such as warrior forum). But is there a other good place that I really should be looking into? Building the email list seems to be a alot harder work than I thought, and if there is a way, I want to find out how other people do it.

I am currently trying out a program that grabs people's email across the internet. but the problem is that the program just grabs the emails, nothing really more. I feel that in order to successfully make a significant boost in gaining the downliners(by sending emails), it is important that I send it to the right people, not the people who has zero interest in gdi. So Im hoping to find out a way to build email list much more efficently.

2. Another thing is the program. It seems like the getresponse, autoresponder is a really important program that I should be implementing to my gdi, but is there a program that I should be using that Im not?

Welcome to GDI,

Our members encounter this error when they are using the own nameservers option. The own nameservers option allows you to have your domain hosted with another company. Since your domain is no longer hosted with GDI, GDI is unable to provide email services. You may contact your alternative hosting company and ask for email services or you may change the DNS setting for your domain to one of the following:

-   SiteBuilder: Professional pre-formatted templates (default setting) so you may create your own WebSite within minutes.
-   URL Forwarding: You may forward your .ws domain to any other WebSite that you may own.
-   Hosting: Use your own application to build your site. Just FTP your content to our servers and we'll host your site for you.
-   Parking: Simply have your replicated WebSite display when people visit your .WS domain.

To change the DNS setting for your domain:

1. Log into your account at https://www.website.ws/members/
2. Click on the "Domains" button from the left hand side menu
3. Click on the "Change DNS" link, on the Domain you wish to change the setting.
4. Choose your DNS Setting and click "Continue”

For accurate assistance for your account you may want to contact the GDI support department directly by email at support@wsdomains.ws or by phone at 1 (760) 602-3000 and make sure to include your inquiry along with your username.

Hello Ken,

A prefix is the part of the e-mail address that appears before the '@' symbol. So for example, if you were to create an email address such as ken@yourdomain.ws, 'ken' would be your email prefix.
