Title: Google Analytics
Post by: Debra S1 on February 01, 2012, 09:28:02 AM
I need advise please.

I would like to configure google analytics on my website. The difficulty is I am using a site builder, web template and can't access the head tag to apply the verification code. is there a way around this so that i can verify the code once applied to my website to google analytics.

e.g

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<title>www.nameofwebsite.ws</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<link href="/files/usr/skins/Business/Home_Business_1/style/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<style>/* EDITTABLE CSS */

Cheers

Hello,

I don't have much knowledge on the Site Builder so I cant help you with that.

But, you do NOT need to place the code in the head section of the page. You may place it right at the bottom of the page if you wish. As long as the code is inserted as HTML (not standard text), then it should work fine.

So just place it somewhere in the body tag. Give it a few hours for Google to pick it up (loading the page with the script will speed things up), and it should work fine.

Google will only ask you to place some HTML in the head section if your trying to verify your site. Google Analytics does not require users to verify their site. But if your using Google Webmaster tools (or any other kind of Webmaster Tools) then you may need to place some HTML in the head section. Which hopefully, somebody else will be able to help you with.
