76  .WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: Need Help getting some GDI sign up's on: November 04, 2010, 10:55:44 AM
Hi Louis,

There are so many ways to increase your sign-ups I can't list them all in this post.  Before we talk about a few ways to get sign-ups there is one sure fire way to get sign-ups and that is...  take daily action.

What a great way to side-step the question, huh?  But, it's absolutely true.  If you really think about it you can come up with dozens and dozens of things you can do on a daily basis to spread the word about GDI.

The secret is exposure.  Some methods of exposure work better than others, sure.  But if you include GDI in all that you do, all of those little ways will add up to a huge downline.

For instance, two things you mentioned in your poll are 1) just talk to people and 2) business cards.

Both work great.  Let's talk about business cards first...

What are some things you can do with business cards?  You can leave one along with your tip when you go to a restaurant.  You can give one to the person taking your order at a fast food place.  You can include one along with your bill payments.  You can give them to grocery store clerks, cashiers, gas attendants...  the list just goes on and on and on and on.

You can ask your friends or family to hand out a few for you.  You can buy one of those plastic card holders and ask a store owner if they will let you put it in their store for $20.  Get creative!  The only wrong way is not leaving them at all (or by breaking some law).

Talking to people...what a great way.  Here is a personal trick of mine.  The next time you meet someone new ask them what they do for a living.  People love to talk about themselves and they will tell you.  (In fact, listening to them you might see that they NEED a website.  Like, if they have their own lawn care service or something.)  Now, after they answer you I guarantee that at least 90% of the people will turn around and ask what YOU do for a living.  This part is fun.

Person:  "So, Louis, what do YOU do for a living?"

Louis:  "I show people how to make an extra paycheck every month."

Haha!  Now, Louis, do you think they might be curious about that?  You bet they will be.  "You do?  How does THAT work?"  "Here, take a look at my website, it has a movie that explains everything I do."  "But what company is it for?  How does it work?  How do you make money?  Etc..."  "Hold your questions.  Just visit that website, it explains everything, much better than I can.  If you have questions after that we can talk about it then.  What's a good time for me to call you after you watch the movie?"

Some of my team members feel a little shy at first doing that.  Don't worry, it gets easier every time you do it.  Practice saying it in front of the mirror, or practice with your wife or a friend or relative.  Don't let your fear of people stop you from growing your business.  Most, and I do mean most, people will be at the very least polite about it.  Many will be excited to learn more and a few will just take your card and never visit.  And that's OK, nobody likes a pushy person.  If they don't want to know, great.  At least you tried.

That's about all I'm going to mention because there are just too many ways to get team members.  The secret though, the BIG secret, is daily action.  And that's it.  Maybe you only get 1-5 team members a week like this.  But in time those add up and add up and add up until wow, you have a monster team.  Just take that daily action.

If you want to know more ways just browse these forums.  So many people have written tons of great posts on this subject.  Talk to your upline.  Call them or write them an email... or both.  If they won't respond, contact support and ask if they can put you in contact with someone that will help.

And I hope this helped.  It can be a slow process, it might be fast.  But that doesn't matter.  What matters is what you do on a consistent daily basis to grow your business.  If you work every day at it, even when you don't feel like it, great things will come your way.  Keep learning, keep growing and keep on working.

And have fun!  Smiley

78  .WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: sign up on: November 04, 2010, 10:16:55 AM
Hi Rebecca,

There is one main site you can send people to in order to ensure that you get credit and that they are placed on your team.  It is www.website.ws/YOURGDIUSERNAME .   (Be sure to replace YOURGDIUSERNAME with your actual GDI username.)

This site has your affiliate code (your GDI username) already on the page.  And do not worry, if the person clicks any link on that page your affiliate code will still be present.

You can determine what is shown at that site if you go to your GDI back office ( www.website.ws/members ) and click on the "My Replicated Sites" link found on the left hand menu.

Now, I said that the above site is the "main" site because there are MANY GDI pages you can use.  Choosing "My Replicated Sites" and then sending people to www.website.ws/YOURGDIUSERNAME is simply the most straight forward.

If you are using the free site builder that comes with all accounts you can also include banners, buttons, images and movies that are already encoded with your affiliate code as well.  Simply find the button you wish to use, tack it on and you are set.  They are designed so you don't have to worry about anything other than where to place them.   Your code is already on it.

If you are designing your own site NOT using the site builder you can click on "Banners" in the GDI back office and click on "Show me the code".  This code will automatically link that banner to your affiliate page so all you need to do is copy and paste.

As you continue with GDI you will find many pages you can send people to.  For instance, you can send people to the recorded version of our webinars where a member from the GDI Affiliate Council will talk about GDI for you.  If the person viewing the presentation decides to sign up from there they will be placed on your team if you send them to this page for the presentation:  www.gdiwebinars.ws/YOURGDIUSERNAME

Here is one more little trick (and I hope this all isn't TOO confusing).  If you want to send someone to a page that is NOT the ones I listed keep an eye out for a place in the URL that says "sponsor=".  For instance, a neat product page some people really like has a LONG URL that looks like this:  http://www.website.ws/kvmlm2/stn_index.dhtml?sponsor=YOURGDIUSERNAME&fname=&lname=&page=stn_textf_product&template=0

Take a close look at that URL.  You will find a piece that says "sponsor=YOURGDIUSERNAME".  (I changed it and you might find something else in there besides YOURGDIUSERNAME).  This is the bit that tells who that page belongs to.  So, all you need to do is place your gdi username after the equal sign.  For an example (and this is ONLY an example) let's say that when you log into GDI you use the username "RebeccaStelman".  All you need to do is change "sponsor=YOURGDIUSERNAME" to "sponsor=RebeccaStelman" and that page is now encoded with your affiliate link.

Again, I hope that wasn't TOO confusing.  If it was you can write to me for clarification or use the tried and true www.website.ws/YOURGDIUSERNAME

I know this all may sound like some other language right now, but as time goes on it will become more and more clear.  If you have questions never be afraid to ask them here at the forum, or contact your upline.

Hope this helped!

Vincent Parker

P.S.  Be sure to replace YOURGDIUSERNAME with your actual GDI username in the above examples.  Your username is your key to making sure you get credit for a new member.
79  .WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: CELL PHONE NUMBERS on: August 22, 2010, 11:09:02 AM
Hi Babers,

It is absolutely not essential to own a cellphone in this business.

It is advisable to call new prospects and leads by phone.  This will definitely increase your conversion rate.  However, you can of course call from any phone you choose.  It does not need to be a cell phone.

And calling leads or prospects is not essential, simply advisable.  You can email them if you like, or even use postal mail.  And keep in mind GDI also sends out several emails on your behalf when someone shows interest in GDI.

Hope this helps answer your question.  Smiley

Hi Diana,

If you would like to use leads generated by GDI go to your GDI members area ( http://website.ws/members ) and click on "Order Goodies".  From there click on "Phone-Verified Leads".  These leads are fresh (within 48 hours) phone verified and profiled leads.  That means someone from the GDI call center already verified that the lead is highly interested in joining GDI and awaiting more information.

When you order these leads you will find a link in the same area where you can view and/or download their information so you can market to them in any way you choose.  They are meant for calling, and it is highly recommended you do so.  However, you can also email them or write them via postal mail.

When you do order leads please be sure to download them right away.  They are only kept in your leads area for 3 months, after which they are purged from the system.

Hope this helps!

81  .WS Business / Marketing / Re: Back By Popular Demand, 5 GDI Lead Capture Pages! on: August 19, 2010, 07:03:38 PM
Thank you very much, Amauri.

Having multiple pages that GDI affiliates can use is very important, in my opinion.  And while it's a good idea to use pages that have been shown to produce better results, it's equally a good idea to find a page that resonates with one's self personally.

It's a way of putting your own personality into your marketing.  And that is important.

We all have different personalities, likes and tastes.  Though there are certain words, phrases and images that tend to evoke a strong response in a great majority of people, not everyone will respond to the same message.

That's why if you see someone placing GDI ads somewhere that you are placing ads, do not worry.  Each person's message will resonate with different individuals.  Because of your personality and style, you will be able to attract people that I cannot, and vice versa.

Thanks for sharing those with us!  It pays to play in the Global Domains International forums!  Smiley

Hi Sylvie,

I completely understand that it's late at night where you are during the GDI webinars.  Unfortunately there is only one webinar each week and it's always at the same time.

One option you do have is to watch the recorded versions.  You can find those at http://GDIWebinars.ws

You can also send other people there so they can watch the recorded version.  If you want to send other people there, use your webinar link which is http://GDIWebinars.ws/YOURGDIUSERNAME  (be sure to replace "YOURGDIUSERNAME" with your actual GDI username).

I do hope this helps.

85  .WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: how upload video on: August 17, 2010, 12:33:10 PM
Hello BajicTino,

Most people do not upload videos directly to their website, as videos are often large.

There is an alternative though.  There are many video hosting sites out there that will allow you to upload a video to THEIR site, and then use the code they give you to easily place it on your site.

The most popular of course is YouTube.  It's very easy to use.  And there are others.

Hope this helped!

Vincent Parker

P.S. If you are using the site-builder and refer to placing videos GDI has already made simply edit a page, click on Galleries and then click on GDI Tools.  From there you can choose the videos and where to place them.

88  .WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: Hi All Im Luke! on: August 17, 2010, 12:25:07 PM
Hey there, Luke!

Welcome to GDI.  Smiley

I can completely understand your skepticism.  And I'm sure almost every one else can identify with you on that too.  However, keep in mind that it does not matter how much anyone else is making.

Can you spend the money I make from GDI?  No.  So the real question is, how much can YOU make?  And only you can answer that.  Only you can provide the enticement necessary to not only stay a member, but to grow your own business.  Only you can find the motivation, the desire, the work and the creativity needed to grow a business.  Only you can provide your WHY.

Now, what are you referring people to?  There are many avenues to take and it's completely up to you which one to take.

You have your GDI website.  That's great!  One thing you can do is build it to appeal to people looking for an easy to build, easy to maintain low cost web-hosting package.  Or you can build it to appeal to people looking for an extra income.  Or both!  And then you can refer people directly to YOUR web-page.  You can make use of GDI's banners, movies and other things on your website.

You can also park a GDI replicated site on your website and still refer them there.  If you would like to see what GDI has built for you, click on the "My Replicated Sites" in your GDI members area.

But ULTIMATELY, where are people going?

http://my.ws/YOURGDIUSERNAME

http://website.ws/YOURGDIUSERNAME

http://freedom.ws/YOURGDIUSERNAME

If you send anyone to one of those links, they will be on your replicated site.  Meaning, if they sign up they will be on your team and in your downline.

Also, be aware that in the "My Replicated Sites" area you can also choose which site you want to have shown when a person visits http://website.ws/YOURGDIUSERNAME

Hope this all helps and made sense!

And welcome again!   Grin

P.S. Be sure to replace "YOURGDIUSERNAME" with your actual GDI username.   Wink
89  .WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / A Product Based Affiliate Page? Oh my! on: August 12, 2010, 03:08:43 PM
Hi all,

Were you on the GDI webinar last night?  Wow!  One of the better webinars in my humble opinion.  Tim really gave his all during the second half.  Wonderful advice and tips.  If you have not been to a GDI webinar, please do try and attend.  And when you attend, make sure to vote at the beginning.  This lets the GDI Affiliate Council know who is attending and where they need to focus attention.

Mr. Bart gave us a nice piece of news too.  If you look on many of the affiliate pages (replicated websites) that GDI has for you, you will notice a new video talking about the product.  It's really neat, take a look.

But, he also mentioned a new affiliate page.  So far, I have been unable to locate that page.  Perhaps I am jumping the gun here.  However, if anyone knows of a link to that new affiliate page would you please pass it along?

It's really exciting because the brief look he gave us made it seem like it was a product centered page.  I believe we have really been missing the boat on this one.  The business opportunity is great, don't get me wrong.  But remember (as Tim or Bart or maybe Tissa said in another webinar) we do not make money from other people.

We make money on the revenue generated from GDI's products and services.

So, out with the link yous guys!  Cheesy

And have a great day, everyone.  Thanks!

Hi Paul,

I would be very happy to shoot you an email later if needed.  But, here is some advice that could benefit others as well.

First off, you've done quite a bit to get your page out there.  So, bravo on that!  Anthony Robbins said that massive action equals massive results.  Looks like you know that one already!   Wink

One thing to keep in mind is that many times it simply takes time for what you do to really take effect.  Marketing research shows that it takes a person, on average, being subjected to a product, service and/or business seven times before they will consider taking action.  That's why it's very important to stay consistent.  The person may need to see your ad several times before it gets them interested enough to even look.  OR, they may need to let those emails that you and GDI send out fester a little in their minds before they take a real look.

And, truth be told most people are going to say no.  Again, that's why consistency of action for long periods of time is your best friend.  You might hit gold your first or second swing.  But, it's probably going to take a good bit of digging before you hit that big nugget.  And then, all that digging is worth it.  In a word, patience.  And keep it up!

You know, one of my mentors likes to say "Imagine your downline does exactly what you do.  If that's the case, how do you see your business in 6 months?"  That right there is important.  What it says to me is, do what you want them to do.  If you want them to take massive action, you need to take massive action.

Well Paul, sounds like you're taking massive action.  And that's great.  But here's something else to chew on.

You've done a lot.  You've made sure to put your business out there.  (Notice I didn't say you put GDI out there.  Because, this is YOUR business.  GDI is just the vehicle.)  So you've taken action.  Keep that up, but now master those actions.

You've advertised on a tv station.  But, is there anything that can be improved in those ads?  Find some books about television advertising.  Find people that do it for a living.  Talk to them.  Learn all you can.  Constantly improve and fine tune what you are doing.

It's the same for anything.  I always jump to classified ads because, to me, it's really misunderstood.  But, the way to write an ad that can stop a world war is to post a bunch of bad ones.  Actually, just post a bunch of them.

Now, track what those ads do.  Pay attention to hit logs and see where people are coming from.  Find out which ad drew them in.  Now, try to improve that ad.  Change a word in the headline and see which of those two does better.  Maybe make it shorter, longer, bold or break it up a bit.

My good friend Joe Florendo (you probably know him through the forums) likes to say "Test, Track, Tweek".  That is a constant process.

And it is what will enable you to turn that massive action into a massive gold mine.

It's really sad that your upline is not helping you.  It might not be their fault.  Heck, give them a call.  Maybe their spam filter (I'm beginning to dislike those things) grabbed you.  Even a little word like "free" might be causing it to flag your message.

But all in all, it is up to you to make this thing grow.  You've gotten off to a great start.  Keep it up.  Stay as focused as possible and don't dump something before you really know if it works or not.  Stay patient.

It's funny.  As entrepreneurial marketers we start off making nothing, then we begin making much less than we are worth.  But with patience, action and constant tweeking we end up being paid MUCH more than we are worth.

Keep your head up!  Keep up that massive action!  And let us know when you hit it big!  You are getting no support.  And that's bad.  But you know lots of people are in the same boat.  Some people just don't take building a business seriously.  So, be sure to come back here often.  Let us know what you find, what you think and what you've been through.  Make sure that the next Paul Daniels that comes through finds you, so he/she will have that support you are currently looking for.

Here's To YOUR Success!

Vincent Parker
