Well, Norma I'll put my effort to be as efficient teacher as I can possibly be.

Amy - thanks for the lesson. I'm far from knowing everything so every information is welcome!

To Tatjana, Regarding:
Quote
If you have stored the picture on MSN SPACE you have actually sign in first and then open the galery, rightclick on the picture you want to add and then select properties and copy the URL from there.

Direct uploading from your computer to the forum is not possible!!!
Some free picture hosting sites don't allow what is called direct linking, so you wouldn't always be able to use the link. With MSN, I didn't know you could. But that's cool that that works. Smiley

If you want to lead the picture from your computer/desktop, you can do that, too. Once you're in Sitebuilder, you can go to the "manage my gallery" button at the bottom, and then hit "browse" to find the image you've saved on your computer and hit upload, and then once you're on the page to make your web site, you can just hit "insert image" and that's it.

It's sometimes safer to do it that way, because then you know all your stuff is on YOUR one server, and if MSN is having site problems, you will not get the big red x instead of your image.

Hope that makes sense?

Thanks for posting about the pictures. There are a lot of people who don't know how to do it, so it helps to have a guide, especially when first starting, it's hard to remember all the codes.

With direct uploading from your computer I meant direct browsing through your computer during writing the message to the forum. If you read my message carefully then you read about uploading the picture to the SiteBuilder galery a bit above this you've just quoted.

On MSN you have to log in to YOUR OWN SPACE (understandable) and OPEN THE PHOTO ALBUM YOU'VE CREATED there. When the album is opened (prepared for editing) you instead of editing pictures rightclick on the picture you want to add to the forum message and pick the PROPERTIES OPTION to see the URL.
IF YOU'LL DO IT UNSIGNED OR WITH CLOSED PHOTO ALBUM (that means in not editing mode) YOU WON'T GET THE PROPER LINK AND THE PICTURE WON'T APEAR!!!

ONE MORE IMPORTANT THING - THE PICTURES ON MSN ARE SO LITTLE AS THIS IN MY PREVIOUS POST (because the program generates their size by itself)!!! SO YOU MAYBE WON'T BE SATISFIED WITH THAT!

Now I see I really have to do a special website here for all picture fans and beginners - MAYBE YOU EVEN GET SOME IDEAS.

Have a WONDERFUL DAY - and snap some pictures - it makes fun - you'll see!!!

Patricia, thank you for your kind response. Like you, I am still learning how to get my ideas up on the board with personal pics. I am sure we will figure it out soon!

I am awe struck over all the members that are computer savvy. However, I am researching and learning one step at a time.

All my best,
Norma Shocked

Hello Norma, Patricia and everybody else of corse!

Now, for the last time (as I've posted so much about the pictures on this forum already)

The pictures you can post on this forum that way:

  • First of all you have to put them in the SiteBuilder galery or you have to host them somewhere else on the net
  • then you use the function INSERT IMAGE above and the Image brackets appear
  • Inbetween those brackets you put the URL where the image is stored

That's it.

Now example: http://URL WHERE THE PICTURE IS SOTRED (I've used <> because otherwise the example wouldn't appear right.

It apears that way then:

That picture is even not stored in my SiteBuilder galery!

ATTENTION:

In your SiteBuilder image galery you have to click on the link of the picture first and then when picture apears in the other window you rightclick and select properties. A new window apears and there is written URL of your picture. That URL is the right one to put inbetween those brackets here.

If you have stored the picture on MSN SPACE you have actually sign in first and then open the galery, rightclick on the picture you want to add and then select properties and copy the URL from there.

Direct uploading from your computer to the forum is not possible!!!

Well that's it now! I hope you all understood now!!!

In the future I'll put all those things I've once written here on the forum and are already remooved on my website so everyone can read and use it.

Best wishes with pictures!!!

Yes I like it as well I have cable so it is no trouble bringing it up.
Also I did not imagine it these sites ( there are others on the forum) actually do change each time
the first time it was green? Then Red? Is this right? Adds great variety . And some have glamourous pictures of people enjoying life, like a bathing beauty
and another family enjoying recreation with a Island beach holiday background. The good life. Very professional looking and straight to the point.I want one too Angry

Hey Gingel!

You'll have one like this, too, don't worry. When yo'll figure out all about how to do something you want to do, it'll be fun, you'll see.

Let me tell you how I'm working my website: it's evening mostly, I put on the music I prefer to listen to most, only a little reflector on the wall is switched on and - my creation time begins ... No rush, easy thinking, trying more ways to do something, testing, playing with possibilyties ... And it's easily 4 o'clock in the morning ...

Try something like this, you'll be surprised how easy work it is then. No obligation to yourself that you have to create something - just easy working. What you won't be able to do today, maybe you'll be able to create tomorrow ...

Have fun!

174 .WS/GDI Discussion / New Member? / Re: Why .WS/GDI? on: July 21, 2005, 11:55:28 AM
Why? Yes, very good question. I don’t know exactly. I’ve got one mail among all the spasm I’m getting every day all the time, but what has got my attention was the title of it – Tatjanap.com is yours, right? The truth is that I’ve just purchased my .com domain two or three days before I’ve got this mail and I was wondering what has this to do with my website. I’ve opened. No aggressive invitation to red Ferrari movie, only a brief wondering if I may be interested in this, a few words more, and the link to presentation. Very clever – I have to say. I’ve closed this mail and settled myself to work – I was in the office doing my regular job. But one sentence didn’t give me to leave this message aside and that was: I'm doing well with this and I'm very curious to know if other website owners find the concept as interesting as I have. The author of this text will recognize this, no doubt. I overlooked the words like MONEY, INCOM etc. It was pure curiosity to lead me to view this flash presentation. And in 10 minutes I’ve decided saying to myself “Well, Tatjana, an extra storage on the web never hurts.” I didn’t mean to earn something at all and I thought about this not earlier then two or three days after I’ve signed up. In app 10 or 15 minutes I’ve signed up and even did something on my webpage though I had no particular idea what should I really do with it anyway.

And now I know why: for my family, to have better life and future, for my pleasure dealing with people from all over the world, for the children all over the world – to help them even more then I can at the moment, for meeting you – NICE AND WARMHEARTED PEOPLE HERE BY GDI AND TO HELP YOU WHEN I CAN!!!

THAT’S WHY!

Well, maybe it will occur strange to you as you didn’t hear word SUCCESS here. If I’ll achieve all mentioned above – THAT WILL BE MY BIGGEST SUCCESS OF MY LIFE!

Hello!

It's good. Well I like that it's in Spanish, too though I can only a few words.

Tell me something: You've made this with the sitebuilder, right? How did you wrap the text around the banner. I love this!

Hi Andrew!

Let me comfort you a bit! I'm in this business already for almost 3 months now, but have only 2 signups. I have to confess, that I didn't work so hard as you did, but anyway. But now - it started to happen so don't give up! Do you hear me?

REMEMBER: DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/size]

Hello Gail!

Well, you've changed your question I've seen. Good. Well, about changing the icon - I don't know. I didn't even notice which icon is there! Ah, all in all, I see too little to notice that anyway!!!

And yes, this could be another good thing to show to the prospects. I'm cnovinced, that the percentage will stay so high all the time because I think almost everyone comes here to create his own website besides the business and for the business of corse!

Hello Maria!

It's fine. Maybe the music should be a bit longer. And I agree with Stacy about the way of joining WS.

Well ... rest yourself now a bit ... you did the first step which is always the hardest one!
