Hello Mark,

Welcome to the FORUM.
I want to expand on your CD idea a little.
First of all anyone can get free software needed to create MultiMedia CD's chances are most people have already got it and didn't know it was installed.

I think GDI have done a GOOD JOB already with the DVD's but it is up to the individual Sponsor to find resolve for clients with insufficient Bandwidth etc ... If making CD's works for you, do it... There are other ways of getting the Message across without watching all of the Movies. A plain TEXT email works fine with Dial-Up as do web pags that do not contain Images etc... E-Books too can be downloaded once and accessed as often as you want...

You added a link for HotConference;
Was this a bit hasty??  Yes a GREAT PRODUCT, but the link will feed the Company, not us affiliates that deserve the commissions... Many newcomers do not fully understand how Affiliate Programmes work so they will see a link, join and the person who introduced them, in this case - YOU miss out..

Maybe I am being too influenced by the notion of personal gain but is that not the aim here?

BTW The Wealth411 site opens a Pop-Up on exit and the Size is set wrong.. Only the top half can be seen.. Not sure if this is your website but it needs a tweak...
again welcome,

Hello All,

I have added a META Tag Generator to my GDI Website today;

To be more precise, I have Uploaded a Web Page that contains a META Tag Generator and before I add a Link to my main GDI Website I want to know if the Page works for other people, using different Browsers, etc... It works fine for me - Does it work for you???

Thanks in advance for any feedback;

To open the META Tag Generator please CLICK HERE

19  .WS Services / WebSite Development / Re: SEO: SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION on: March 13, 2006, 10:13:36 AM
Is there a place in GDI where one can search as we used to in printed manuals?  I have been a member for over a year and have done nothing -- but would like to get started.  I need an education on web design, graphics available, terms defined (for instance what the heck is a meta tag?)  I'd also like information on ideal sites, etc.  Roll Eyes

I am a grandmother (young in heart even if the calendar doesn't recognize it) and self taught on the computer.  I've taught myself the skills I needed in various positions.  Now, I'm retired, and want to add to our retirement income. I'm finding there are lots of holes in my knowledge.  I'd also be open to any printed references others have had success with.

P. S.  I note I am under "Post Moderation" and that my post will appear after approval.  If you're not approved -- are you notified? Huh
Hello,

Meta Tags are similar to the system that you have at your Local Library... The Books are indexed according to their subject, author, language, etc etc

Meta Tags are the Internet equivelant...

Keywords have been mentioned lots in this topic;
I want to add a little about Keywords and adding Weight to your Keywords...
SE's use complex formulas to work out the value of each Keyword in your Meta's
The number of times present, the number of variations (importatant), how often repeats (repeat phrases etc are BAD) Bold Text, H1, 2,3 4 5 Tags (header) as well as colours and alt tabs... there is more to it than this, but to Add a Keyword to your metaTag you need to make sure it plays an importany role to your webpage.

I know that I am Rambling here but actually this is a HUGE SUBJECT that would take days to go into... I just want to give you a bit to be going on with...
There are Porgrammes available that will actually assess your Webpage to see how it ranks, they will also suggest how you need to change things for a better Ranking...   I use a Programme called Web CEO... I can use it to do many neat tricks that would take me forever to work out manually...

Your Keywords should be present in your Url, your Title, the start and end of your page and lots of variations in between.
Your Keywords Should also be present in the Headers of your Page (H1 H2 etc)
Keywords and Meta Tags should not use any special case or will be rejected (*/+='@;:/?><.,!"£$%^&*() etc)

You wnt a high rating to get closer to the Top odf SEARCH RESULTS...
If you have too much erelevant content on your Page (too many words, phrases that do not relate to the Keywords) or worse still, not enough content on your Webpage it will rank very low...

Links from other Websites are also added to the equasion when working out your RANKING...

The more links you have pointing towards your Webpage the better your Ranking will be.... If only it was that simple... If the links to your Website are placed with the wrong Keywords or there is a lot of other links and content, this will actually reduce your RANKING so things like Pixel Ads can seriously harm your PR...

Also if you try to have hidden text etc to booster your PR, they will know about it and penalise you for it. (example the text and background is the same colour or an image obscures the text)

You can also be rejected if you spam the Search Engines... There are many submitters available but most of them will do you more harm than good because they just send out the info regardless of submission rules etc so the Search Engines will block you, easier than asking you to please stop submitting the same page over and over...

I will leave it at this for now because I know that your head is probably hurting already, just ask questions and the answers will be given...
20  .WS Services / WebSite Development / Re: GDI Lead Capture Page (LCP) - Make your OWN... on: March 11, 2006, 08:39:37 AM
I figured just having the form to work on was possibly not enough so I have created a Basic Lead capture Page...

You will need to copy the below code to your own HTML Editor.. . Do your own search in the Search Engines if you don't have the right software but I use FrontPage and a freebie called Evrsoft First Page 2006..

When opened with a HTML Editor you can add your GDI Username and then make it look GOOD, add your name etc, your own Brand and a reason for subscribing...

Please be creative and don't use the form as is, it is only to be used as a template to get you started...

Code:

Hello LeeAndrewBobo,

Welcome to Talk.ws and GDI
Hello everyone My name is LeeAndrew and yes I'm a newbie and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what should be my very I mean very, first move here?
May I suggest you get to know GDI a bit;
Explore your Back-Office, watch the Training Video's
Set up your Email Accounts so they are accessible from your PC instead of online...
Subscribe / Invite yourself to GDI so you can see the Systems at WORK, a dummy run

When you are familiar with GDI you will be in a better position to Promote GDI...

Hi my name is jason.
i am new to home based business altogether, i have done alittle bit of research over the internet for ways to attract customers.
here's some ideas i have come across , and i am looking to get an opinion on them:

1) advertise my business
2) research on key words
3)join forums, groups and boards
4)get as much traffic as possible
5) get leads
6) join affiliate programs
7) get my site into search engines

thanx for your time
Hello Jason,

Welcome to the FORUM and the TEAM  Wink

I agree with what you are saying... In order to make GDI work I believe it is important to use a veriety of diferent methods to Promote your NEW E-Biz...  The more varied your approach, the more individuals you will inevatibly cater for...  I even vary the times an days that I DO THINGS to allow for timezones and surfing patterns...

Keep it Fresh and Keep it REAL!

28  .WS Business / Training / Re: Upside-down thinking? on: February 28, 2006, 09:50:09 AM
Joseph,

In order to build a successful team, you must educate YOU first. This is your home based business, learn about it! Then, you can guide your team in your footsteps and inspire!

Nicole
YES NICOLE,

You are spot on with what you have said.
In order for you to be able to provide the answers you first need to have the answers...  I think it would be silly to suggest that you learn everything before you get started, cos you will never get started, but you owe it to your self and your future clients to at least familiarise yourself with the Product (GDI) before you start to promote it... You only get 1 chance to make that first impression and it really does count...  even knowing where the training Videos are in your Back-Office can give the impression that you know what you are doing... Be resourceful and you will be rewarded...

Joseph,
If you are confronted with a question that you do not know the answer to just send your MEMBER an email that says something along the lines of... I am out of the office until tomorrow at Bla Bla time...
Your email is important to me and i WILL RESPOND AS SOON AS i AM BACK IN THE OFFICE TOMORROW...
This will buy you some research time...  You have a question and it is up to you to find the answer...

Everything that I have learned about Internet Marketing has been out of necessity...  If you hit a dead end it is up to you to find the right way...  If you hit a dead end and you just turn back you are failing yourself...  Every time you find a black spot in your Knowledge base you should do whatever it takes to deal with it... I guarantee what you learn once you will use twice so the effort is always worth it...

Keep learning and you will always have more to teach...
Downline MEMBERS don;'t just want, but actually expect you to teach them how to make a go of the Programme.. If you do not deliver they will find someone who will...
29  .WS Business / Training / Re: What are the BIG Hitters doing? on: February 25, 2006, 08:35:49 PM
RodB,

When I started out I didn't even know what a Hyperlink was, but it was not a SECRET...

GDI do a great job of introducing NEW MEMBERS to the concept of Automation...
But at the end of the Day GDI is not a School...

My search for Online Secrets has forced me to come to the conclusion that there are no secrets online...

People offer to sell so called secrets... but fact is they are selling info, guides and directions, not secrets...

Rod when you say that the average guy has no idea how to Automate anything...  YES SIR, in fact if they are anything like me they will know absolutely nothing about the Internet, GDI, Websites, marketing, Ad Scripts, HTML not to mention the many Tools available to everyone...

If you have discovered some secrets I would love to learn of them...

If there is just 1 thing to come from this THREAD please let it be;

To Succeed with GDI you will need to learn many new things and you will need to be able to teach your NEW MEMBERS how to do the same...

Oops the secret is out!!!

30  .WS Business / Training / Re: How do you handle a new prospect on: February 25, 2006, 07:44:24 PM
I want to ask this question, to get some new ideas and also give others ideas on
what to do when this happens.

What do you when you get an email that you have a new prospect?
Hello Stefan,

I respond to my NEW PROSPECTS in 1 of 2 ways.
Both are the same up to a point...
I send an email which features their Opt-In details, Names + email + Time
The email thanks them for their time, asks for their oppinion about the movie.. It also contains a link to the Movie that has already got their details added to it so the Flash Movie already contains their name when they open it for a second look...
I invite them to contact me to let me know their views or ask any questions...

I also add a link to My Marketing System.. I only really use 1 Programme to Promote GDI etc, but that 1 Programme features over 50 other Programmes... I suggest that they should preview the Marketing System too before deciding whether GDI is for them or not...

I said 1 of 2 ways because If I am online when they subscribe the email is written for here and now.. If I am offline the email refers to the Movie they watched earlier...  The rest remains the same...

I have a third method 2...  I have an Auto-Responder set-up with some Lead Capture pages...  The Auto-Responder sends 1 email only... It is instant and it features a Personalised link to the Flash Movie...

I do not send any other messages to my Prospects because GDI does that for me...

Oh 1 other thing... My Signature contains a link to my Website and my FORUM with a note suggesting there is a lot of info for beginners...   Some people will set-up an Auto-Responder to deliver lots of emails to the Prospects but I do not do this because If the Movies are not enough I just move on.....   Plenty more fish in the SEA, besides I don't like my inbox filling with these emails so why do it to someone else...

Regards,
