I have made some changes to my site and added a new page.  I like it.  I am trying to get to the point, keeping things as simple as possible.  I know that I don't like to read lengthy things on the computer.  I'd rather sit down with a good book!  Anyway, it is super late and I'm super tired, and morning will come all to soon when my boys wake me up!

check it out ~

I think that using a personal site is best.  For prospects who don't know you personally, it makes it more personal.  For those who do know you (and don't) it demonstrates the product that is available.  Some of my prospects have been very impressed and sign on once they see what they can do with GDI's Site Builder.

You just need to sign the agreement and fax it to GDI with a copy of some government issued photo ID.

I agree with the "outside the box" thinking.  I totally intend to get out of my "comfort zone".  I just haven't had the time yet.  (I can barely keep up on the laundry!) Putting flyers in mailboxes on my block was out of my comfort zone and I did that! By the fourth side of the block I was feeling comfortable with it already and the next time it will be even easier!  Besides, my kids liked it! Especially when the mailbox was low enough for one of them to put the flyer in!

Kyra,

I like the idea of this poll. My main form of contact with my sign-ups has been friends, most of which are stay at home parents. These are people who I sent an initial email out to and then spoke to by phone, email, or MSN messenger.  They are people I am in regular contact with already.

I'm not sure how to put a copy of my flyer in my post.  It is in .pdf format right now.  I probably will not be able to do it for a couple of weeks as I am going away, but I will eventually.  There is a copy of it on my website.  You can find my website in the "showcase your site" topic.

I designed a flyer (and GDI approved it) and I put it in mailboxes around my block.  I only did 50 so far, since I always have my three little boys "helping" me.  (This includes one on my back!)  Anyway, I have had a lot of hits in my "hits log" that I am pretty sure are coming from that, because I don't know what other source they would be coming from.  I have 20+ hits since I put the flyers in mailboxes that came from unidentified source.  Previous to this I was getting VERY few hits so I'm certain this is the source.  I used the www.my.ws website, but so far none of these hits have produced movie views.  Also, nobody has emailed.  I am going to alter the flyer to have my personal .WS website because I think people will see it's a real person and be more likely to email me or watch the show.  I'm excited that it has, at least, produced hits.  Hopefully with a few alterations it will start bringing people to the movie and to email for me info.

Hope that is useful to you!  I'll post results after I try the next batch of flyers!

Angela

P.S. I think I will put that flyer up on my website too......I'll try to do it this evening.

Michael,

I agree with Kyra.  Lots you can do without spending.  So far, I have had the best luck with word of mouth.  (I'm new too.) I am also at home with three small kids and no money to spare!  Take the kids to the park.  Start chatting with anyone you meet there.  Tell them about it.  Chances are, other stay at home parenrs are going to be interested.  This has been my biggest success group so far. (It's a small group... since I just started but I expect it to get bigger!!)  As Kyra said, talk to everyone.  I told my hairdresser about it yesterday.  She was totally interested and wanted a card for her brother as well.  Also thought her husband would be into it.  They haven't watched the movie yet, but that was just yesterday and sounded promising.  "Drop" cards everywhere.  I just posted in another thread about the flyers I put in mailboxes around our block.
It is in this thread: http://talk.ws/index.php?topic=209.0   But might not be up for a while because I'm still under "post moderation".  Good luck!

I really love this idea!  I'm in!  The only catch is, I can't start August 1st.  I'm going away tomorrow and after Sunday the 31st I won't have internet access again until Aug. 12th (there-about).  If someone makes that chart, though, I'd love a copy.  I will begin implementing as many marketing techniques as possible in the location I will be.  (Small audience.... fly in fishing camp.)  Anyway..... I will look forward to catching up on this thread when I get back!

Congratulations on a job well done!  How did you get the picture in the left hand margin?

The picture on the left hand margin is part of one of the layouts/themes you can choose from in SiteBuilder.  Click on "properties" for any given page. Select "business" and then "ebiz".  (I'm pretty sure that is the catagory it is in.)

Hi Kyra,

I checked out your site.  Your daughter is very cute too!  Best wishes with the new baby.  I have a question about your site.  I was wondering where you got the figure for 5.4 million by recruiting 1 person a month for two years and each person recruiting one a month and so on.  I hurt my brain trying to figure it out.  I came up with a different figure.... still an impressive one... but not quite as high.  I'm just curious because I think this is a good thing to tell potential, but skeptical, recruits. I think anyone would believe they could recruit one person per month.  My brain hurts, so chances are very good that my calculations are wrong!  Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I have just added my second page to my website.  I am using the SiteBuilder (even though I am a website designer) so that I know how it works and can tell others how simple it is.  Just before discovering GDI I had started working on my website http://www.redcanoe.tv (which I will continue to build along my original intentions for it).  Now I have registered http://www.redcanoe.ws and will devote it more to the business!  I'm still working on my "theme", but I think it will be along the lines of "outdoors: get out and play more - bike, hike, canoe....." while making money.  Hmmmmm....... anyway.... looking forward to hearing your responses!

p.s. how do you get your picture to appear with your posts?
