Welcome! One of the great things about GDI (and this forum here, and the internet in general) to me is having the opportunity to meet people everywhere. Best of luck to you in building your site and all. You sound to be very ambitious, which is GOOD! You WILL succeed.

Hello Ron, Welcome. I'm in the US for the moment but usually am in the UK (South Hampton, specifically) approx. 3-6 months per year. I currently promote internationally via message boards, online discussion groups, etc. I find these type of postings and communicating via email preferable than telephone, regardless of my prospects' locations. I actually even email my neighbor sometimes. I know the UK is a seven hour time difference from where I live in the US, and I have been communicating with some folks in China and India. I have found that email is the way to go. No need to worry about waking someone up at midnight this way!! Good luck to you. Hope to see you around here.

Hey there Christopher, Welcome! Denver's great! I'm in Chicago myself. Good for you for giving GDI a try. I tell folks the same thing -- might as well give it a trial run, as that's what it's there for. I was a skeptic myself, but I figured anything's going to give me a free trial, I might as well check it out. And now I've made a believer out of myself. Cheers to future success!!

Hey there. Not from Alabama, but I have family in Birmingham. (If you could teach my Granny to use a computer, I'd be most grateful and I bet she'd sign up, too, since she says yes to every telemarketer that calls just to get them off the phone faster! ) Awesome to see you've joined us.

None of the domains I have ever purchased have come with a Website Builder - ONLY GDI. That is how I learned html, because I HAD to! I also needed to know how to use an FTP client.
Both of my .com domains require that I build my site in another manner, then use FTP.
Stephanie, yes, I'm completely with you there!! The salvation of sitebuilder for people like me: I don't have the time or patience to learn CSS and FTP. Basic HTML was enough to drive me off a bridge (and I don't even know how to drive). For prospects who aren't interested in the opportunity, my argument is what Stephanie says. This is why so many people will pay people hundreds or thousands of dollars to build a site FOR THEM. Convince those people that they can do their own and save the money, and you've made a sale. Believe me, I'm doing it! *Add in the cost you're going to pay for your FTP software. *The time it's going to cost you to learn to build the site yourself (or cost to have someone do it for you). *Add the cost of hosting, in most cases. (Even "free hosting" is usually bombarded with ads, which to me, makes it "annoying and unprofessional", not "free".) *ten email accounts (many only come with one -- mine does) The only argument I've had against me so far has been the "genericness" of sitebuilder.... and now that THAT HAS IMPROVED, I'm out of objections.

Tatjana, I think your guide will still be useful, as many things are the same between the old sitebuilder and the new... Although I agree, I too will have to do a bit of playing around with the new one to see all the differences. I am happy they got it updated, and I like the changes so far. This one does seem to be more "user-friendly" and easier to understand (although I haven't done much with it yet).
Norma, I have lots using kids, although many of them are my own kids, which I'd feel a little uncomfortable with others customizing and using for their own banners. For example, I have one of the twins with a msg that says "Our Mommy Thinks We're So Cute, She Got Us Our Own Website. Where's Yours?"

It seems like my upline can care less! I've sent all of them emails with no response! My goal is to be nothing like them...besides it looks like they all live at the same contact information...with minor email difference. Then MY sponsor gets kicked out...for spamming. I have no upline support, sure glad I've go this forum! I've got plenty of ideas myself! Just wish I could help an active upline with their income, not a bunch of lazy, no contact, supportless "leaders". It stinks to help "lazy" people earn money when they don't do anything. According to the training book, it advises to help with the 1st 5 paid enrollies. By the way, is that training manuel up to date? The business card has changed... not to mention the printing company. Anyway... I'm not letting it bother me, just wanted to make sure I wasn't alone. Be Patient, you reap what you soe! -Logan That's too bad, but as you seem to realize, it's their loss, not yours. I'm glad you're able to not be discouraged. And from the small amount of contact I've had with you and seen of your posts here, I'm thinking you are standing pretty well on your own two feet. I think one of the great things about the forum is that no one has to feel like they're alone, if they need help, or just want to exchange ideas. I have been in several mlm businesses where I've felt literally hounded by the person over me, so what I have now is a nice balance, and being able to come here as a choice rather than a requirement of "you must attend this meeting on Tuesday, or we shall shun you from our clique" kind of attitue many marketing companies have is a great thing, too.
