16  .WS Business / Marketing / Re: Ads, fliers and business letters....Share your best!! on: July 27, 2005, 10:12:09 AM
Looks like this thread of comments will be a great place to ask a question regarding pictures and flyers.

Thanks to Jason Smith for the example he created and shared on the 23rd.  Perhaps you or others can answer this quuestion for me:   I have seen numerous e-mail advertisements that had a picture or graphic that I liked a lot....I have selected the picture and saved it, but for some reason I am unable to edit the text that is found with the picture, to change it up to suit my own purposes.   The wording WILL NOT remove or delete.   HOW DO I ACCOMPLISH THIS SIMPLE (I am sure!) TASK?

I will go in to Google as Joel has suggested and check those out and see if I can edit any of those images.

Thanks to all for this helpful thread and great sharing of ideas.

You are right, Tatjana, question is a bit confusing and actually I should have used the "Poll" icon instead of the question mark any way.  Oh well, learn as I go.  Does anyone know if I can now go back in and change the question mark to a poll icon?

We have had 18 respond so far (out of 5,000!).....Of those 18, fifteen have their sites up and running (Congrats, Everyone!); one does not (thanks for responding any way ONE!), and two are "almost", like me!

LET'S HEAR FROM YOU OTHER 4,982!!!    Right now the percentage of those with sites is very high...83%!  If this poll does get a significant number of replies and that percentage stays high, that will be another really good recruiting tool and favorable stat we can all provide to our prospects.

GDI Forum hits new landmark this weekend......

OVER 5,000 MEMBERS!  WOW!
[/b] [/i] [/color]

I was just wondering how many of these 5,000 HAVE their website up and running Huh

Still working on mine, but hope to have it published soon.

PLEZ respond  even if your site is up but not shared in the Forum Showcase.

Not sure I know how to originate a POLL here, so I guess I will find out IF this works.  IF it does not, then could someone please tell me how to include the poll vote options.

Thanks!

Norma, Your July 9th post to this thread suggesting a newspaper ad is a good one.  One step further and of benefit to all of us would be a COMPANY generated press release, made available to all Affiliates to utilize in their local newspapers; one that could easily be edited as to affiliate name (if they wanted that included), contact information, telephone numbers, etc.

A company press release would look professional to the reader, capture the attention of MANY in the IT/computer/domain related world by the announcement of its new registry (dot ws!) and official information on the Company itself. The press release could include benefits of a personal and/or business website, plus our other valued features.

You or I could do basically the same thing on our own, but in most metropolitan area newspapers, the cost for our "ad" would be really high.  However, many (not all but many)  newspapers will run a Company produced press release as news within the paper itself (NOT classified or retail ads) and quite often we can get them published for free.

Speaking of copying and pasting......I have read SO MANY useful and helpful shares on this Forum and because I do not know how long a particular topic or thread of comments to a topic will be carried on the Forum, for the ones I want to be SURE not to lose, I have started my own separate WORD document of GDI FYI's for future reference.  I want to MAKE SURE I can refer back to them and that I not lose the valuable information.  I even have my WORD document for FYI's categorized according to specific topics so I can find one fast when I need it.

You CAN change your website name, Angie; in fact, I have done so myself.  It may cost you a one time additional $10 a month, depending on when you create your new domain.
This is because every time you enter in a new domain name, you are actually setting up a new account, for which another $10 per month is charged.

Just go to your affiliate site and scroll down to Domains.  You can, at any time, add a new domain (many people have more than one now); put in the new domain name that you want, and then BE sure that you cancel the other one, the domain name that you no longer want.  Once you have cancelled it, as a further follow-up, it is a good idea to contact Customer Service direct to make sure they have receipt of your cancellation request.

It is even a good thing to promote with your downline the BENEFITS of having more than one domain, because every time they get a second or a third, YOU are earning another $1.00 per month off of each one of them.

As to your question is it necessary to create a domain name in the sign-up process, or can that be done afterwards, it IS necessry in the sign-up stage.  This, I am sure, is to protect those people who have a very specific name in mind that they WANT for their domain.  By securing it immediately when they sign up, this is assuring them that no one else will ever be able to capture or have that name.

Advertising Thought Regarding FR Posts Here:

Run an ad that says:

WANTED!

Three Local Area Organizations with 100 plus members to test market brand new and powerful fund raiser concept.   Potential for Great Profits paid to your organization monthly, now and for years to come!    Contact G. Smith, GDI Fund Raiser Sales Affiliate  Phone  Number

WHY "three" wanted?   Heck 300 can call me, that's okay!  But stating "three" in your ad creates an urgency, hopefully, so that some WILL CALL quickly!  They want to be one of the first three to find out more info.

Jeff, another thing that may help you is that while you can't see the info. on those downline people right now, in two or three days after the "quitting person" quits, GDI does compress the downline and I have found that after a few days, those people I couldn't see, are now back in my 1st Level and their info. IS visible to me again without my having to go elsewhere to seek the info. I need on them.
This only works for the ones that you personally sponsored and then perhaps moved to others, of course; but in my case, that is the majority of them.

Hope this helps also.

24  .WS Business / Training / Re: What if my upline never contacts me? on: June 28, 2005, 02:37:30 AM

If no one responds, find a new upline.  It's that simple.

You have the absolute right to CHOOSE your upline.  If the people you're working with won't help you.....choose someone else.

Ginger,

Be careful about advising people to CHOOSE another upline if they are not happy where they are.
First of all, it is my understanding that if any one of us should decide to drop out and then attempt to sign back up again, we must first wait FOURTEEN DAYS to do so, and in the process
WE WILL LOSE ALL OF OUR PRIOR DOWNLINE.   I guess if you didn't have ANY downline, then making a move to another Sponsor may be worth the effort; but I sure would not want to lose the downline I have now, simply to move to a new Sponsor.  There are just way too many truly helpful people here on this Forum, who ARE willing to help, rather they are your upline, downline, or no line.

I am blessed because I have two upline people that are very supportive and helpful when they have time to be, and one that knows less than me (which is NOT a good thing at this point). I am training her as we go and loving the opportunity to do so.....my appreciation to her for sending me the GDI movie to look at and sponsoring me in!    We are a team working together right now to support each other as we learn together!
