.WS/GDI Discussion / Questions & Issues / Re: HELP NEEDED ON ADVERTISING MY BUSINESS!!!!
|

HI, My name is Karen.. I have been w/GDI for almost 2-Mths. and I still haven't gotten any sign ups. I am really getting frustrated, I too have been doing the invite-emails but, I still haven't gotten any.. I don't know what to do, because my money situation is getting really bad, I'm on Social Security which is not much and one child to support, that's the reason why I joined GDI, I know its a very good business, but, If I cannot get anyone to sign up soon, I'm afraid that I'm, going to have to cancel, and I know I don't want to but, Money is really getting scarce for me.. I need all the help I can get right now, So, if anyone has any ideas on how I can get sign ups fast. Please, let me know.. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Karen (Mi)
I have been here 3 months and so far have no one either under me. I am very disheartened and on the verge of canceling. In fact i got on here trying to figure out how to cancel my acct. I cannot afford to keep paying 10 a month with no money gained. I think that is way so many cancel. It is hard to get epole to join.I just quit MPM for the same reason and all I had to do there was give away free malls and I couold not even do that.So I know how you feel. When you are doing a program that depends on a downline it is very risky to say the least.I am about to quit all program such as these. Does anyone know how to cancel these accts. please email me at patricia at logantele dot com thanks Hi, You may have already cancelled by the time you read this. But if you are still in GDI you may not have realised this... There are thousands of people all over the world making a profit from GDI. They are living proof that it works. This fact also applies to most other top rated team building business opportunities. That being the case, it stands to reason that it is not the company, or the compensation plan, but you. You are doing something wrong with how you are trying to promote GDI. Either you are not doing enough, or you are promoting to the wrong market, or both. There are three markets. 1. Those people who want a domain name and hosting but only want to "pay as you go", rather than paying a whole year, or two in advance. Also they don't need all the bells and whistles such as hosting their own wordpress blog, or hosting their own forum, that some hosting services offer. 2. Those people who are looking for a way to make some extra money. 3. Those people who want a mix of 1 and 2. What you need to focus on is discovering where these prospects are located and how you can get them to ask for more information. I suggest you start looking in your own location. Start distributing fliers and drop cards. Create some simple 3 x 5 postcards and place them in newsagents shop windows, especially at newsagents that have bus stops outside their shops. Leave dropcards at ATMs, in library books about self-development. There are all sorts of ways to generate inquiries for little or no expense. Just to recap; If others in GDI are making money then it's not GDI that is at fault. Therefore, for things to change you need to change the way you are doing things. Gordon

.WS Business / Team Building / Re: Targeting YOUR GDI Sign-Ups

HELLO EVERYBODY, I'M STILL NEW TO GDI, I THINK THIS IS MY 3RD OR 4TH WEEK. I'VE COME TO LOVE THE FORUM. THE EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS ARE AS VALUEABLE AS A COLLEDGE EDUCATION. I'M A FULL TIME STUDENT AND A WEEKEND FATHER TO MY 4 YR OLD. I'M TRYING TO LAND A 3RD SHIFT JOB.
I DID FIND SOME BUSINESS CARDS AT A LOW COST THAT I GOT TO DESIGN MYSELF. I'M STILL IN THE PROCESS OF PLACING THEM. I'VE BEEN PUTTING THEM INSIDE MAGAZINES AT THE MAGAZINE RACKS AT GROCERY STORES, GAS STATIONS, DEPT. STORES, ETC. I JUST GOT THEM SO NO RESPONSE AS OF YET.
I'VE GOTTEN 14 TOTAL HITS SO FAR USEING FREE ADVERTISING AND A SMALL COST AD ROTATOR($5/MONTH). I'M STILL WAITING FOR THAT 1ST SIGN UP. WITH NO MONEY FOR GAS, IT'S HARD TO GET OUT AND RUN THE ROADS. BUT I TRY TO DO IT WITHIN MY NATURAL DRIVING CIRCLE.
I BELIEVE IN GDI STRONGLY. I KNOW THAT GDI HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS A LOT LONGER THAN ANY OF THESE SO CALLED BIG DOGS CLAIMING TO HAVE THE KEYS TO PARADISE. SO HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE GOTTEN RICH OVERNIGHT? HOW ABOUT WITHIN A WEEK? THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE LINING UP FOR THE SLAUGHTER. I WISH WE COULD GET TO THEM 1ST BEFORE ALL THE BOGUS CON ARTIST EAT THEIR LUNCH FOR THEM BECAUSE GDI IS A LEGITAMIT BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY. I WAS EXPLAINING THIS TO MY FREIND WHEN HE SAW IT AS A PYRAMID SCHEME. I QUICKLY SET HIM STRAIGHT ABOUT THE DIFFERENCES BECAUSE GDI HAS REAL PRODUCTS/SERVICES APART FROM BEING IN BUSINESS FOR SO LONG( IS IT 7 OR 11 YEARS NOW?) GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! ------------STACY
Hi Stacy, I appreciate your enthusiasm. Just keep doing what you are doing until you discover a better way of doing it. Just one minor point. Could you please use normal type, rather than all CAPS. All CAPS is more difficult to read and in forum posts, is also indicating that you are shouting or yelling or angry. Hope this helps, Gordon

.WS Business / Marketing / Re: How To Find Home Business Prospects LOCALLY
|
on: July 24, 2008, 08:03:15 PM
|
The basic reason why many GDI members do not want to contact local people (especially family and friends) is a lack of confidence in their choice of opportunity.
If you are convinced that GDI really is the best business opportunity, then why in heavens name, would you not wish to share it with your family, friends and anyone who comes within 3 feet (1 metre for you metric heads) of you?
If you are not absolutely certain that GDI really is the best business opportunity, you need to get convinced.
The other really important factor about building local groups is that members can meet if they want to. Humans are social creatures. For those that do want to meet, training, presentation and recognition events form a very important "glue" to keeping people in the business and feeling part of a team or group. For those that don't like meetings (the minority), you don't have to attend.

.WS Business / Team Building / Re: Targeting YOUR GDI Sign-Ups

I firmly believe in the "Monkey see, Monkey do!" philosophy.
I have moved across the oceans and live in a completely new country, so I am a little short on warm list candidates. As a result I am focusing on local newspaper linage ads in the part-time general vacancies.
From the response, I look for people who are prepared to work their warm market. I then work the 3 x 2 system. That means I work their (call him Alfi) list until I have found 3 members for Alfi.
Once I have found the first member (call them Barbara). Barbara must be a person who is prepared to work their warm market. I start working with that Barbara and help her find 3 people. In the mean-time I am helping Alfi to get his remaining 2nd and 3rd members.
It is Alfi's responsibility to use what has learnt from me, to help his 2nd and any subsequent members to get 3 members each.
Working with Barbara, when we find Barbara's first member (call him Charlie), I start working with Charlie to find his 3 members.
In this way I am driving the leg in depth. I continue to drive the leg in depth until there are 3 times as many people being sponsored into that leg each month, than I am personally able to bring in, working at whatever level I happen to be at, currently.
This is not the best way, for some to build their GDI group, but it suits me.
I am not a salesman, marketer, or promoter. I have tried online tactics that I have taken several years to learn, and I've had a little success, here and there.
The problem is, that most of the people that I have introduced have been completely clueless about Network Marketing online, and what is worse, either they don't want to learn or it's going to take years, as it did with me.
Most of you, of age 20+, know at least 150 people who, when you called them, would recognize you immediately you mention your name. That's 150 candidates that you don't have to advertise for. How long would it take to make a list of their names and telephone numbers - 2 hours - less?
Some people have mentioned not wanting to "pester" their family and friends. Does asking them four questions constitute "pestering"? I don't think so.
Here's two examples (FROG stands for a contact from Friends, Relatives, Organizations, Geographical).
You: " Would you be interested in a way to make some extra money without it interfering with what you currently do? FROG: "No, thanks!" You: "No problem - speak to you soon. Bye" ========== OR
You: " Would you be interested in a way to make some extra money without it interfering with you currently do? FROG: "Could be. What is it?" You: "Got a pen? Go and watch this 6 minute movie. Here's the web site! Let's talk tomorrow."
When you follow up:
You: "Have you watched the movie?" FROG: "Not yet." You: "Watch it tonight and I'll call you tomorrow"
OR
You: "Have you watched the movie?" FROG: "Yes!" You: "Is it of interest to you?"
If they say they are not interested. Don't phone them again except for non-business matters.
In my view, that's not "pestering"
I hope this helps,
Gordon

.WS Business / Training / Re: How do you handle a new prospect
|
on: July 21, 2008, 08:43:27 PM

More about handling concerns, one I have heard about the monthly fee is "a legitemate business will not charge you to work for them". I point out that any newspaper is full of want ads for jobs placed by agencies that will want charge a placement fee if you are hired. Similar situation, labor unions require dues and participation, if you are not a dues paying union members, you do not get a union job. Then point out that the $10/monthly fee is for account maintenance and website administration, and that they could in theory run many other businesses from that web space concurrent with GDI participation.
Most people have to pay to travel to and from work, and in a month it's normally much more than $10. All the best, Gordon

Hi GUys and GIrls, i have an idea and i wanted to share with you all, i have a friend who is a life coach and he is helping me with this BRILLIANT IDEA
1. Place an advert in your local paper, keep it simple advertinsing that a promotion is being held at your local Hotel conference room to teach people to earn an extra income from home, ( havent got the exact advert up yet but you get the idea)
2. Book your local hotel conference room to hold 100 people
3. people that reply to the advert have to send their tel. num + email address to book a place
4. make sure the conference room has a big screen tv
5. Play the dvd
6. hold questions and answers
7 get signups
tell me what you think
i am thinking of doing this each week in different areas for 1 month..........to get as many as i can
any suggestions about it?
Try it the other way around. Redirect your hotel room budget to buying DVD presentations. Place your advert in the local paper. Send inquirers to watch the 6 minute animated presentation Follow up 48 hours later by phone, to see if they want more information. If they do, send them a DVD. Follow up 24 hours later and ask them what they think. If they haven't taken the 7 day trial, they may have extra questions, so invite them to an "in-home business review" at your house. This will save you travelling time and money. At the "in-home business review", answer any questions and help them get started, if they want to. My better half and I have been using this method to build another business. She is focused on that, but I have lost interest because they have radically changed the plan. That is why I am focusing on GDI and I will be using the system I've outlined. There is only one problem with this plan and that is the cost of advertising. Most people do not know how to advertise and promote effectively so it could be an unacceptable drain on their resources. You will get a very big attrition rate Because you are working local and thinking global, try and move to working warm lists. I only advertsie when I personally need to start a new leg. In fact, now I will only sponsor a person if they agree to write a list and work it with me. This may seem harsh, but I know that any other way, my downline are at a very much higher risk of failure. By working their list WITH them, I help build their team and mine, without wasting masses of time and money on cold marketing. Gordon

.WS Business / Team Building / Re: What would $1 a Day do for YOUR GDI Business?
|
on: July 18, 2008, 04:05:01 AM

Here's something else. The oldest and the biggest (by far) Network Marketing company in the world does not allow any advertising for distributors. It's top distributors are earning between 1 million and 4 million dollars a month.
If that is true, and it is, then doesn't it stand to reason that their tactics and strategies must be worth serious consideration?
Just because GDI is internet based, doesn't mean that you should use only internet marketing.
Visit your local library and ask for the book, "How To Build A Multi-Level Money Machine" by Randy Gage ISBN 8186775-87-0
